Hunter College is a comprehensive teaching, research and service institution, long committed to excellence and access of undergraduate and graduate students in the liberal arts and sciences, as well as in several professional fields: education, health sciences, nursing and social work. Founded in 1870, Hunter is one of the oldest public colleges in the country, dedicated from its earliest days to serving a student body which reflects the diversity of New York City. Make sure, if you are in high school, that you do well on SAT's and keep your GPA up. Hunter is one of the harder CUNY schools to get into. Also if you are a NY state student, you should aim to do well on your Regents. For transfers, make sure your… more read full review
Make sure, if you are in high school, that you do well on SAT's and keep your GPA up. Hunter is one of the harder CUNY schools to get into. Also if you are a NY state student, you should aim to do well on your Regents. For transfers, make sure your GPA is at or above a 3.0, just to be on the safe side. Also, get involved in extra-curricular activities and community service, it shows that you like to get involved. Lastly, if you want to avoid taking a language in college, make sure you take at least four years in high school. This will take some stress off your back when dealing with general education requirements, unless, of course, you want to take another language. read full review

Even though I've only been at Hunter College for a semester, I feel that that most of the professors making learning about a subject interesting. However, there are a few classes (the classes with 200+ people) that makes the student feel disconnected from the professor. I think those classes are introduction to ___ classes, so after getting through those classes, it should be fine. read full review
