Ocala has a lot of local flavor with activities centered on the downtown square (Light Up Ocala in December with a ferris wheel, plays, concerts, etc.) and many cultural events on the campus. Silver Springs with their glass bottom boats, and Wild Waters with the water slides and pools, as well as the Gulf Beaches, Crystal River's manatees, and numerous caves for cave diving are all nearby. Orlando, with it's many tourist attractions is an hour away. The Ocala National Forest and the Greenway trails (miles of horse, walking, and biking trails) are available and many are free. There are clubs that cater to all musical tastes and ages and small family owned restaurants and businesses to satisfy any palate. read full review
