Make sure to check out the school ad read reviews as much as possible before accepting a place there. The learning environment is very specific and doesn't work for everyone and the social atmosphere is also very narrow and doesn't work for everyone.

If you are considering Hampshire, be prepared to participate a lot in class. It is important to not only hear what other students have to say but to give your input as well. At Hampshire, we learn from each other, not just from a textbook. Sometimes the lack of academic structure can be overwhelming, so it is good to meet with your advisor if ever you feel this way and take advantage of the academic freedom!

Be creative and sincere with your supplements and college essay. Hampshire cares more about the students themselves than their grades or test scores (we don't even take tests or get traditional grades here). BE SURE to visit before you decide to come, too. This school is VERY unique and is definitely not for everybody.
