Hartwick College has a great community and it has many different opportunities for their students. Students have great influence in regards to their academic career. We have the freedom to choose different classes and majors and even the ability to create a major.

Hartwick College decreases the student to teacher ratio which in turn provides a more personal, one-on-one atmosphere. The campus is full of activities and opporotunities that engage all types of students. The community of professors, students, and staff create a warm, at-home feeling, allowing for a smoother transistion from home to college.

Hartwick has a huge campus with tons of stairs. The administration especially the Office of First Year Experience is extremely caring& friendly. Also they have an excellent study abroad program.

Though it is a small college, opportunities abound to study-abroad, do independent research and work with professors one on one. The campus seemed real nice, but I'm a detail person and the grass seemed sloppily cut, the windows were greasy, the plaster was cracking, dead bugs lined window sills, and one would think on a Visiting Day they would try to spruce it up a bit.

It is a very enjoyable atmosphere, where everyone is generally friendly. You get to create wonderful relationships, and the President of the college is very sociable and gets to know all the students. All the faculty and staff are very committed to academic excellence.

Hartwick is small and homey. The school seems to have any opportunity you could imagine. It's a small place with big dreams, perfect for a student with big dreams.
