The Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) is a much smaller school than many of the other top engineering universities in the Midwest. The size of the class is a major factor for getting a better education. Because of the smaller number of students, there are fewer students in each class. The largest lectures range from 26 to 30 students. With the class sizes this small, the students and professors get to know each other easily. (There are no teacher’s aides at MSOE, only professors).

At MSOE, the time in the labs play a large role in getting the students involved with their major. The students who attend MSOE experience more than four times the amount of time spent in labs than students who attend other schools throughout the country. The academic track at MSOE has students taking core classes dealing with their major since the beginning of their freshman year.

If a student is having trouble with a class, the student will be able to get help from the free tutoring in the learning resource center or from talking directly to their professor in person, on the phone, or even by email. Everyone is willing to help. The professors actually care and want to help you pass the class. read full review
