Around Town

While Shippensburg is a very small and rural town there are still ways to have fun. Chambersburg is located roughly 10-15 away with a mall, movie theater, and plenty of places to eat. Also, Harrisburg is 45 minutes away with a multitude of things to do.

The musical events, sorority groups around campus, recreational competitions, concerts, festivals, easy job search trips, resume programs, campus trips to football/basketball games, trips to New York, Washington D.C, Performing Art Center, etc. The list can go on!

Unless you party or enjoy the lame activities available on campus I would have to say not much, all I can say i appreciate the fact that I hold a job and have the ability to leave campus often and drive to surrounding areas

Many clubs have events mostly sports. The volunteer clubs are limited. Activities on the weekends are limited. There are a few but nothing to write home about. Football games are by far the most fun.

There are plenty of things to do at Shippensburg. I know a lot of students are involved with clubs, greek life and sports. It is what you make it in that if you sit in your dorm, you obviously will be bored. I am involved with the Red Sea (student section), mini thon, relay for life, internships around campus ect. So I think that if you get involved there really is no issue with finding things to do.

Shippensburg always has fun concerts (Jason Derulo, B.O.B, The Plain White T's, All Time Low, etc.) and events like breakfast bingo and condom bingo--all of which held on campus. For shopping trips, students can drive 15 minutes to the chambersburg mall. Other relatively close malls include Carlisle, Harrisburg, Gettysburg, and Hagerstown.

There are many clubs to join, as well as intramural sports if you are not on a sports team. Many dorms also hold contests, raise money for charities, and other events that are a blast. There are always different kinds of productions to attend as well.

The student organizations hold a lot of events on campus, so there's a lot of things to do on campus. Once you make friends, you'll start to explore in and around Shippensburg

There are many activities here on campus. Each hall/dorm has their own atleast once every week. Giving you the chance to have fun as well as meet new people.
