Overview of University of Hartford

Choosing UHart was one of the best decisions of my life. I was worried that I wouldn't fit in with college life and make friends, but surprisingly (or, perhaps, not so) I adjusted to life here very quickly. My first semester schedule included classes such as Freshman Dialogue, and Time Management that focused specifically on allowing new, incoming students to adjust to the college workload. Those proved to be very useful for me. Although registration week is a very busy time for college students, I was able to sign up for most of the courses I wanted. I relied heavily upon my freshman adviser for help with this, and she was more than willing to give me a hand. Although I know next semester I won't be able to see my new friends as often, I can always hang out with them after classes and am looking forward to making new friends during the new year.

I have so much fun at UHA. It is really a great community where almost everyone gets along and there is always something to do.

Outside or the classes, the campus is really small, there is little to do, you can't walk anywhere, and everyone goes home on the weekend.

I have made some really good friends that I will be in contact with in the future but sometimes there will be a night where I'm ready to party but there just isn't any where to go. Also the clubs are a lot of money if you plan on doing it every Thirsty Thursday. A lot of the parties on campus are drunk parties where they play beer pong and everything gets shut down so early! By 2 am everyone heads back to their room.

The size of UHart is perfect. There are a lot of students, so there is always an opportunity to meet someone new, but it is still small enough that you will see familiar faces all the time. The classes are small (around 20 students), which makes for a more enjoyable education, and the social activities are numerous. There is greek life, which I am a part of, clubs, dances, concerts, free movies, anything you can think of, our Campus Activities Team (CAT) does. It's wonderful living here and attending UHart.
