This school does not truly value academics. For instance, math is a requirement, but there is an easy way around it. Students can take intro to logic, a very easy class, instead. Too much of the school's money goes to athletics, and it shows with their current budget crunch and the condition of the older parts of the campus.

We've got it all: sun and surf, unique plants and animals, and an incredibly diverse group of people. Where else can you check out a trip to the island of volcanoes, get ready for sailing club, learn about native plants, and study bioengineering...in January in a T-shirt?

The school is a good liberal arts college, where you can meet people from all over the world, and learn about the rich culture of Hawaii. This school is especially good for those interested in marine biology.

I am currently taking online courses with University of Hawaii. I enjoy taking the online courses because it gives me time to work while I am working toward my degree. The classes are online, but we meet about once a month on a Skype like program, which makes it easier to talk to and get to know the professor.

The professors interact with there students. They understand that in big lectures it is hard to grasp what is being taught. They are easy to get in contact with and they will meet with you during their office hours if you have any questions. Professors will also inform students of tutoring opportunities if they are struggling with the work for that class. The atmosphere on campus is very laid back and relaxing and there is a lot of aloha spirit.

This is a great university and very convenient for commuters. The classes are challenging, but the student body is a little lazy. Professors here are amazing.
