Getting involved in any college is very important. Even if you decide to go somewhere else...GET INVOLVED!! It is such a big help to find people who have the same interests as you. At the University of Toledo there are more than enough organizations to get involved with. Most of them are not very time consuming. When involved with a organization, they help you stay focused. I have currently have a pretty good GPA, which I never would have expected, but I owe it to my involvement. Another good thing to remember is to stay on top of your work. There are tutors available in the basement of the Library. They are there to help, they are free...so use them :-)The University of Toledo is in a great area (at least I think so) The city is not far, and neither is a great shopping/eating area. It has a great balance. read full review

Throughout the first week, go meet people! Don't stay hidden in your room. If there is any sort of bonfire or anything, go to it!! It will never be easier to make friends than it is in that first week. Another suggestion I have is to get involved. There are so many opportunities here but you will never find them if you are afraid to get involved. Attend meetings for clubs that you may think that you won't be interested in. Who knows? Maybe you'll find that you actually like doing something that you never considered. And, you may make friends there. Also, use your professors' office hours. Even if you aren't struggling in their class, go meet them. Let them know who you are and what you're interested in. They may tell you about exciting opportunities, such as study abroad programs. Plus, you never know if down the road you will need their help for a recommendation or something. read full review
