Being part of the WMU community is a great way to meet others and stay connected. I lived on campus my freshmen year and joined in extracurricular activities throughout the campus. Western Michigan provided everything I needed to create a homely environment. I made many friends who were just a walk away, there are sports fields directly on campus to play sports, everything is within a 15 minute walk, and even the professors were very easy to get a hold of. The area surrounding Westerns campus also provides students with many of their needs. Like grocery stores, clothing stores, a downtown area to hang out with friends and to watch movies. read full review

The atmosphere here at WMU is great. It's just the write size that when you walk around on campus, you always see a familiar face. The campus is a great size, where the farthest classes from one another are at most a 15 minute walk, as compared to some other schools. The extracurricular activities are numerous here, with something for everyone to get involved in. From Student Activities Board, to my a Capella group (WMU Broncords), to Humans vs. Zombies; the school offers a multitude of great experiences for students of all types of interests. read full review
