Categories Rating Comments In three sentences The first Chinese Medicine school in California, ACTCM is a fast-paced school that will teach you all you need to know in order to pass the state and national board exams and become a licensed practitioner.
Tips for prospective students Visit the school and spend some time in San Francisco prior to applying to make sure both are the right fit.
Academic Rigor ACTCM is on a quarter system, with often only a two week break in between, so expect to spend a lot of time in school/studying.
Dorm Life There are no dorms, but often affordable shared housing in the area. For those students who don't mind a longer commute, less expensive house can be found across the bay in Oakland.
Food and Dining While there is no food located at the school, San Francisco is home to some of the most diverse and delicious cuisine around. In addition, many restaurants use organic and local ingredients.
What to do for fun From exploring the city, to spending a day at the beach, you will never get tired of San Francisco. Great night life, incredible restaurants, and endless activities make this city one of a kind (not to mention beautiful vistas). In addition, you can make day trips up to Napa for wine tasting, south to the Santa Cruz mountains for spectacular hikes in the redwoods, and over to Tahoe for skiing and boating.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus There is a great Chinese Medicine library located right on campus, and a convenient student store for purchasing supplies you may need over the course of your studies.
Campus Safety The campus is split into two locations and while Potrero Hill is relatively safe, it is a major city and crime does happen.
