Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot Members of Austin Peay's faculty are very friendly and helpful. Most professors have an open door policy and are willing to do anything to help their students learn. Also, with the honors program, there are multiple opportunities to build on the basic curriculum through research and additional studies. There are also many opportunities to study abroad in places such as Russia, Asia, London, and several others.
Am enjoying being here There is something for everyone! There are opportunities for athletes, and intramural sports for those just interested in playing for fun. From bass fishing to swing dancing to wildlife and much more... Austin Peay has several clubs and societies to choose from. There are also a a number of sororities and fraternities that are actively involved on campus. Also, the student government association and student life and leadership works hard to please students' wants and needs. They plan concerts, games, and other activities allowing students to be involved on campus. Austin Peay is small enough to feel like a community, yet large enough so that there's always an opportunity to meet new people.
Bang for the buck It is one of the least expensive universities in Tennessee, and offers a myriad of scholarships and work study opportunities. You will receive a quality education without breaking the bank. With over 50 majors to choose from, there is a course of study for almost everyone. Some particularly popular majors are nursing, business, theatre, health and human performance, and education. There are also many preprofessional programs for aspiring doctors, dentists, physical therapists, dental hygienists, lawyers, pharmacists, optometrists, veterinarians, etc. And with a state of the art science complex, you can't go wrong at Austin Peay.
Tips for prospective students If you apply, be sure to submit the separate scholarship application found at this link: https://www.apsu.edu/secure/scholarships/index.htm
Any extra money is helpful, trust me!
If you're wondering how to say Peay ... you're not alone. It's pronounced like pea. Now, don't be alarmed if you do decide to attend school here, or even if you just make a visit... A common cheer here is let's go PEAY. What other college could say that?Great for these types of students If you want to attend a university, but dislike the thought of being an overlooked 'number' in a crowd of students in a classroom, Austin Peay is a great choice! Classroom sizes are typically smaller, allowing for a more intimate learning experience.
Also, if you're a non-traditional adult student, Austin Peay is a great choice. There are several paths you can take to obtain your degree, whether it's your first, second, third, or beyond. Online classes and night classes are very popular. You won't feel intimidated, and there are many other non-traditional students, so you don't worry about feeling out of place.
Austin Peay is also a great option for members of the military and military spouses. The main campus is located in Clarksville, about 25 minutes from the Fort Campbell Army Post. There is also a campus located on Fort Campbell. Austin Peay works to accommodate soldiers and their spouses achieve their academic goals.
If you’re not yet in the military, but interested, Austin Peay has one of the top ROTC programs in the country. You can learn more at their website: http://www.apsu.edu/rotc/

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot Right now im taking my core classes. They are really easy its like a review of high school, english is like middle school level. The professors are decent you get some that are young like you and are nice but others are old and want to stick with ALL the rules but they all want to work with you and their common goal is that you graduate, even if they have to meet with you on their off days to make up work some of them will
Am enjoying being here I love walking around campus I meet a new person everyday. Its not to big but its not to small. Especially when football season starts there is the Mudbowl event where everyone comes and plays vollyball in the mud ALOT of fun and the frat and sor step show in the plaza that hundreds of students attend. APSU is where it is at I have a blast everyday
Bang for the buck APSU is very affordable if you live in state and are just taking regular classes with no extra fees you need about 4000 a semester to get a nice refund check and get everything paid for. Not all the courses require the newest versions of books or they dont require books at all ,so that helps out alot. The school bookstore is expensive but you can rent books from them for a discounted price at the beginning of every semester. Or you can visit the local bookstore Studymasters and get the same books for even cheaper and campus still approves them. APSU has a lot of activities that students can do for free through out the year mainly in the fall but free is free.
Tips for prospective students Have a little money saved up for books at least 400 before the semester starts because sometimes refund checks come later then the teacher wants to start working on material
Great for these types of students Of you are looking to save a few dollars or you have to take out a student loan and dont want to have to pay for it forever then APSU is your school. If you need a group of friends at all times there are plenty of organizations for you to join or you can just hang out in the plaza area.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot Learning is the main focus at Austin Peay. In the two years that I have been here, I have learned more from the life experiences that are thrown at you, then from the teachers or text books. I am not a Business major, but Austin Peay has taught me that the quantity is worth more than quality. Recently the university celebrated teaching 10,000 students, but many students have trouble finding places to park and often the cafeteria is over-crowded. But, Austin Peay does offer several venues of learning outside of class with events like Bread and Words and International Night. So I'd say I am learning more than I could have ever imagined here at APSU!
Am enjoying being here I definitely enjoy being at Austin Peay. It was the first institution to which I applied. It has a beautiful park like campus with scenic sidewalks taking you from one class to another. Besides the many campus clubs and activities, Clarksville itself offers an array of interesting things to get into. A short walk from campus is the River Walk which host such events as River and Spires and beautiful lights during the Holidays. Also Clarksville has most of the big time franchises throughout within its boarders. Conveniently less than an hour away is the state's capital Nashville which offers nearly every metropolitan amenity you desire.
Bang for the buck While Austin Peay's tuition and fees seem low at first, they can add up if you're not careful. If you decide to live on campus, you have to buy a meal plan. The cafeteria's food options are usually delicious and varied. The best housing is at Hand Village. The apartments are 4 single rooms, two bathrooms, and a living space. Unfortunately, they removed the stove tops from the kitchenettes. Getting off of work late at night, I am sometimes unable to find a place to park. Overall, Austin Peay is a pretty good deal financially.
Tips for prospective students From personal experiences, be very knowledgeable of the bookstore's policies. Last semester I bought a new book that they told me I needed for a certain class. I opened it and started reading before class. In class, the professor said we needed a different book completely. I brought my book back to the bookstore where they initially refused to refund me the money. After many telephone calls, they reluctantly gave the wrong edition of the textbook I needed. I now buy all my books online, while many of my peers use Study Master's.
Also, Austin Peay has many outlets for you to succeed. If you have a learning disability or are a student with a different disability, register immediately with the Office of Disability Services. Austin Peay also offers a free tutoring service program so if you need a little extra help in a course, do not hesitate to make your tuition dollars work for you. Another great place is the Counseling Services. If ever you have a personal issue that you need to talk about, they are the place to go. The cost is also covered in tuition. If you get ill, Austin Peay also has a great health services staff to help you get back to health.Great for these types of students One of the things I say to many friends half-jokingly, is that Austin Peay excels in mediocrity. This is not necessarily a bad thing. The average-ness that I discovered about Austin Peay allows it to appeal to a broad spectrum of students. I have friends who are egg-heads and those who are slackers. Austin Peay is truly great for everybody because of the wide variety of experiences you can obtain here. The school was very recently recognized for being very military friendly but does not neglect its non-affiliated student body. With all the things wrong that I could list about APSU, there is not enough cyber-space to list all reasons why I am eager to recommend my school for anyone everywhere!

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot If you go to class and work along in your book, you will do well in most classes. Be sure that you know how to work well in a group, and DON'T PROCRASTINATE. If there is an emergency most professors will understand and will work with you to succed. None of the Professors want you to fail and if you don't understand something just ask, or go to their office when they have their scheduled office time, if they can't help you they will help you find someone who can. If you do these things and want to learn you will.
Am enjoying being here The area and people in it are great. The campus looks big, but you can easily walk from one side to the other in 10 minutes or less, and if you don't want to walk the Peay Pickup goes around every 15 or 20 minutes and it is free with your student I.D. and Peay Pickup card you get at the begining of the semester. Since coming here I have not meet anyone I didn't like or that wasn't friendly.
Bang for the buck Austin Peay is less expensive than most other 4 year colleges, plus you get to ride any city bus for free, if you live in the dorms, you have access to a free laundry room, the library is HUGE, and there is always something going on. Overall it is deffinantly a great deal.
Tips for prospective students Turn in your application as early as possible. Fill out financial aid forms as fast as possible, the money does run out. If possible live on campus, it makes the early class that you are likely to have to get a lot easier, if you don't have to get up extra early to drive to school. If you must drive arrive sometime between 6:30-7:10 for morning classes, and 12:30-1:10 for afternoon classes if want a decent parking spot. If you have a dorm room that is kind of out of the way, or if you are a commuter student I would try to get a locker, there are some lockers on the first floor of the MUC and there are some for Art students in Trahern. There may be more but I don't know where they are.
Great for these types of students I see students of all types here and they all can succeed. You just have to not be afraid of asking for help when you know that you need it. There are resources to help with just about any problem that you may have.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot Your class load varies on how many “hours” you sign up for—your credit hours just count how many hours a week that you will be in class. I took 17 credit hours this past semester, which is really close to a heavy load; most people only take 12 or 13 which is the average amount you must take to be a full time student (and keep your HOPE scholarship). I can tell you from experience though; if you take this many hours you have to stay serious about school! No partying, no staying out late or up late on the internet, and do not procrastinate! I had to do six projects in three days before finals! And I have learned from this to do my projects early—maybe as soon as they are assigned.
Am enjoying being here For those interested in Austin Peay, I would definitely recommend it. It isn’t too big, and it’s quite comfy—a good place to stay for those serious about school.
APSU, like most other universities, require that you stay on campus during your first year of college. Which isn’t too much of a problem, the dorms are pretty nice for being a bit old. The dorm I’m staying in—Killebrew—is a very nice size; you have to share your room with one other person (of your gender of course!) and your small bathroom with the two people beside you. So, you have a roommate and two suitemates! A good relationship with them comes in handy when you get locked out of your room, haha~ The dorms also have a free laundry service offered in the bottom floor of the building; you of course have to get your own detergent and softener, but you don’t have to pay to use the washers and dryers. Just remember when you put your things in or they’ll end up on the floor later! And never do your laundry on Sundays, that’s when everyone gets in from the weekend thus everyone decides to do their laundry.Bang for the buck The meal plans offered are really nice, and they have an equivalence system set up so that you can eat at other restaurants around campus with your meal plan without using up your “plus dollars” or extra food money. For example, you get a value of 3.50 for breakfast that you can use as a meal at another restaurant if you get tired of the cafeteria; and depending on your plan you can have a different amount of meals a week. I only have ten meals a week, but you can have up to 19! A lot, eh? The cafeteria has an all-you-can-eat buffet styled system, and is open from 7am to 7pm almost every day. It opens late on the weekends; and you’d better remember that or you’re going to be confused and hungry! But do watch what you eat! Because the cafe is all-you-can-eat you can gain a lot of weight quick! So be mindful of what you eat, ok?
And since your tuition pays for it, make a stop by the Foy, or the fitness cener located on campus. Working out keeps your body and mind healthy...and you can avoid that freshman 15!Tips for prospective students Most all of the professors are pretty understanding, and all have e-mails which is a great way to keep in touch with them if something comes up or if you need help with an assignment. There is also a website that professors use called Determined 2 Learn or D2L; and on this website professors can post assignments, how to guides, links to helpful websites, hold discussions on a forum, create a space for you to submit your work, and even set up a chat room for you to talk to your other classmates with. It’s a pretty neat site, though only one of my teachers used it this past semester.
I say to learn to like coffee. If you’re a good student, you will be up studying all night or finishing a paper at some point. I recommend going to Einstein’s, a coffee shop there at APSU, it is open late! Good luck everyone and don’t let the stress of learning to be an adult get to you! ?Great for these types of students I am an art major so my classroom hours are longer than most as it is because they are “studio hours” since well, you stay and work in the classroom on your piece. Because APSU isn’t huge like other universities classroom sizes are pretty small, so you can have a better relationship with your professor. This was especially useful in my arts classes, since my professors were right there to help me with my projects, show me what I could do to fix something, or even show me a technique to make something a bit easier to do. I also got the opportunity to work with a few professors that I didn’t have a class with his past semester. Kell Black was sort of substituting for my electronic imaging class with Emily Stiegler one day, and was so helpful with my animation. He even found me later working one night and let me borrow this really neat cartoon animations book to take notes from and photo-copy for later reference!

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences I love APSU. It may be my hometown college but it keeps me focused. I'm not trying to explore a new city or find out where the night-life is.
Tips for prospective students AS a prospective student, APSU is a simple place to focus on your studies but still have fun and enjoy the town.
Academic Rigor I would give APSU 4 stars just because they do not have any and all majors a person could want. Although, they provide a way to create you own degree by double majoring or double minoring.
Dorm Life Dorm life is the best part of APSU. It gives the student the freedom from home, yet there are still rules and consequences to abide by.
Food and Dining I give Food and Dining 3 stars not becuase the food isn't great (because it is), but because their avaiability is not ideal for students.
What to do for fun For fun, there is plenty to do. The recreation center is a great place to just hang out with friends or workout with a game of basketball or even take an aerobic dance class.
Bang for the buck For in-state students, it's the cheapest place in Tennessee to attend. I believe it has the most open and accepting faculty and staff.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus For the smokers out there, there used to be several smoking huts around campus before the SGA passed the Smoke-free campus rule. Now there is only one and it is a place of acceptance and relaxation in between classes and before or after classes. We call it Byzantium.
Clubs and Activities There are a variety of clubs and activities for everyone on campus. If there is an activity that does not have a club, any student can create one through a rather simple process.
Greek Life Greek Life is always active around campus. Through charities and helping to improve campus gives APSU a good name for Greek life.
Campus Safety APSU has one of the safest campuses in Tennessee. With its own police force, APSU keeps it's students safe and takes care of them.

The teachers I have worked with are understanding and knowledgeable of their chosen professions. The course availability and class curriculum's are relevant to the growing needs of today's employers.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot Austin Peay is a big campus but it's small. The teachers are willing to work with you and make sure you are getting the education needed.
Am enjoying being here I love Austin Peay. It feels good to walk around campus and people knows your name. Campus life is a very wonderful experience and I am currently enjoying every minute.
Tips for prospective students Austin Peay is boring but I blame Clarksville for that problem. If you join some type of Organization or Sport then that will take away from the boring. Also attend as many events as you can because thats how people will recognize you. If you put forth the effort in meeting people then they will do the same.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot I really am enjoying my classes. I have had very good teachers and very good experiences in my classes. I went to a very academically challenging high school, so I am not challenged beyond belief here, which is very good. I feel that it is a good amount of work and gets challenging at times, but you have to be wise and manage your time.
Am enjoying being here I definitely am enjoying my time at Austin Peay. I have so much fun on campus and have met some amazing people. There are plenty of opportunities to get involved with all of the different campus organizations, sports teams, sororities, fraternities as well as other extracurricular activities. There is always something to do and I really love it.
Bang for the buck I am most definitely getting a quality education and at a good price. I am in-state, so I'm not really sure how that would be for out-of-state students. But I know for a fact that AP is well priced.
Tips for prospective students Be sure to get involved! School will suck if you aren't involved in extracurricular activities. There is always something going on and if you attend these functions and join these clubs, you won't have a problem meeting new people and truly enjoying yourself.
And on a serious note: You are an adult now, so be responsible. It's great to have fun, but procrastination will catch up to you so just be wise with your scheduling. :]Great for these types of students A really big deal breaker for me was the size of the school. It is a pretty small school, so classes are intimate and you can get to know your teacher and even faculty/staff around campus. But it's not too small to where you are bored out of your mind and meet everyone in the first month. I continued to see new faces throughout the entire year.
I personally think it is a great school for just about anyone. The only exception I can think of is if you are coming from a really big city, you may not fully enjoy yourself. Clarksville is relatively small, not cows-on-a-farm small, but still. So if you're coming from Chicago where there's a booming city, you may not enjoy it. But anyone else, come on! :]Login to rate or flag the reviews

Am enjoying being here I am enjoying being here.Campus is not too big or to small but just right. You can walk across campus in 10 min.The scene is very relaxing and makes u feel like u are home.
Bang for the buck You get to go to every home football game for free. They give free t-shirts free. The cool part is they give free tutoring for any students who need help in classes.Tuition is very affordable.
Tips for prospective students Apply here.If u r looking for a school that cares about students and in your budget price.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot The teachers stress the importance of learning the material. They want to help you in every way. They will answer questions during class, after class, and spend a couple of extra hours after their set officer hours to help you. The classes are not that big so they know who you are and will adjust their teaching styles to better help you understand the material.
Am enjoying being here I love every minute here on campus. There is something to do every other day. There are so many organizations that you can be apart of.
Bang for the buck Your tuition is used to make you happy. If you rather live in a different dorm then the one you are living in now you can change dorms. If you want a better meal plan you can change that as well. There are several computer labs and the library has everything you need. There's even a stake and shrimp night every semester. There are televisions in the area and a coffee place as well. You pay for a beautiful place to study and gain knowledge.
Tips for prospective students Use every bit of resource you have. If you need tutoring it is free. If you know you are lazy do not pick a dorm that is the farthest way from the campus. Pick a schedule you know you are comfortable with.
Great for these types of students Austin Peay is a great place for people who are open minded, easy going, focused on getting their degree, or try to better themselves. It is a place for everyone and everything.

Bang for the buck If you want to call it that. They don't offer you the scholarship you have to apply for it so either way you still will have to pay for everything.
Great for these types of students Students who are used to small cities but if you are use to big cities and having something to do off as well as on campus then this might not want to be your first choice in college.

Categories Rating Comments Did learn a lot At this college the professors teach the materal how they want to teach it. like for an example if it doesn't go there way you fail! They act like you are suppost to know the materal already.
Did enjoy being here I did not enjoy being here because it seemed like everybody knew everyone and I felt like an outsider. Im from a long way from home and I felt like going home on the first day not a friendly campus and I had to stay on campus...Its boring!
Bang for the buck Hell naw! The school is too expensive for so little. The out of state tuition is high and I had to be a part time student to attend this university so I took 6 hrs for two semesters.
Tips for prospective students STAY AWAY. Unless you want to be around stuck up people. Not a friendly campus at all trust me. If you are from out of state like me then choose another university. Its just like highschool and everyone is from Nashville or either Memphis its not a variety of ppl. But I know your thinking its about the education yea your right but here its not good from my experience.
Great for these types of students If you are from TN then its good for you. If you like to be around the military go ahead and attend.. Goodluck Im out!

Food and Dining Love the new Subway!!
What to do for fun The gym is amazing! There are clubs near by and the riverwalk is just 5 minutes away. The mall is just 15 min away.
Great for these types of students Excellent for non-traditional but also a great start for new students. The VA is good at helping military with school as well.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences Coming from a somewhat small town, Austin Peay State University is the perfect college for me. Not wanting anything too big or too small, Austin Peay is right in the middle with lots of opportunities to offer. A wide range of majors and activities socially and academically at times convenient for everyone, Austin Peay works hard to fulfill everyone's college expectations.
Tips for prospective students Don't be intimidated! At first a big college can seem scary and make you feel like a small fish in a sea of whales. Myself being a shy person, I hesitated to get involved and my networking skills weren't up to par. Once you get over that hurdle, you will realize everyone is just like you. Don't be afraid to ask for help and utilize the tools made available to you. The university is here for YOU!
Academic Rigor Austin Peay offers a wide range of tutors in all subjects at various times during the week to help you succeed. Taking advantage of these tutors are imperitive! College is supposed to challenge you and work you harder and Austin Peay does just that. Prefer to study alone? The library stays open til the wee hours of the morning and has plenty of quiet zones for those who like it to be extremely silent. APSU wants their students to succeed and that shows in what they provide to their students.
Dorm Life First Time Indepence!! APSU currently has two brand new dorms and is building three more to open soon!!! The new dorms are much safer with ID cards to scan your way in, instead of using keys that can be easily lost, or locks that can be picked. No curfews, just know that you are independent now but that means being responsible. Dorms, new and old, are kept in good condition. Cleanliness inside and out is important.
Food and Dining Food here, like with any college campus, isn't the cheapest. (Hello?! Broke college kids!) Various types of meal plans are offered however to help with such. If you live on campus it is required you have a meal plan. On a positive note, the variety of food choices here is fantastic. Late night junk food, healthy choices, organic, pizza, fast food, coffee shops, bagels, whatever! There is something for everyone. Plus there is lots of room to hang out and socialize with friends while eating. Tvs and pool tables are around too!
What to do for fun APSU is centered right in the middle of Clarksville, Tennessee. There is always something fun going on on campus such as plays, musical functions, game/movie nights, concerts, intermural sports, etc. Off campus Clarksville offers lots of shopping, movie theatres, lots of great restaurants, and a good selection of local nightlife.
Campus Safety Campus Safety is on point. Blue poles are located sparatically throughout campus and from one you can easily see another in sight. Hitting the button on these poles automatically connects you with campus police and can give them your location. Campus police are always easy to find when needed. At any time, day or night, they are only a phone call away. Especially good for an escort after those late night study sessions at the library. Overall APSU is a safe campus without much trouble but it never hurts to be cautious and aware of your surroundings. Campus Police make sure students feel safe

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences I love this place. We all live together striving for the same goal. Also they care enough to help in everyway possible.
Tips for prospective students no matter what you need help with, your concerns are valued. There i the academic support center, writing labs, math lbs, counseling services and more.

Campus Safety Campus police is awesome I know everyone of them because they take me everywhere on campus. Even when I had a car they helped me when I ran out of gas and one time when I caught a flat.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences i looked at other colleges prior to selecting apsu, and i'm glad that i decided to go with apsu. on a scale 1 to 10 i find it to be a 10. the professors are great and the people i am meeting are wonderful.
Tips for prospective students join organizations, get out there and meet people, get involved! college life is a new endeavor for those coming right out of high school (i know). the first time away from home and really being on your own. but the people that make up apsu help to make the transition smooth. remember, this is your future so make the best of it.
Academic Rigor it's different from high school so be prepared. professors are expecting to be dealing with young adults no more high school teens. i have found that if you keep on top of the homework, ask questions when you don't understand something and you will be ok.
Dorm Life dorm life at apsu is great. the ra's are very helpful and keep you informed at to what is going on around campus. i have meet so many interesting people from all over. i would truly recommend living on campus.
Food and Dining wonderful -- we have a company that provides an array of choices not only in the cafe, but throughout the entire campus. the food is always fresh, and can be made to order when needed. i would rate the food and dining experience a 5.
What to do for fun apsu offers a lot of activities to do on campus from attending campus sports games, to frat parties, to concerts, to cultural events. we had the writer of the soloist come and speak at our cultural center which was very interesting.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus the annual mud tug of war is an event that happens during family weekend. two teams play tug of war in the soccer field filed with hay and mud, it is the funniest thing to watch.
Great for these types of students someone who wants a small campus environment that has a community field to it.
Campus Safety because the campus is small, i personally feel that campus police are able to survey the grounds in a more efficient manner. apsu has an alert system that you can sign up for on your phone that keeps you informed. also, campus security will provide chaperones should you have late classes and do not want to walk across the campus my yourself. give them a call and they are right there to escort to your dorm.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences austin peay state university is focused on helping their students succeed in everything they do. the staff is friendly and always helpful with any question, concern, or problem. the students are willing to help others and are at the school to work and earn a degree, not just to party and have a good time.
Tips for prospective students students wishing to attend apsu should see if their major is offered and see if there are any better options are available. apsu is well known for its nursing program (which is extremely prestigious and difficult to get in to), any science major is well regarded in the country, and it also has a very good education program. if you're looking for a party school and are not a serious student, i would suggest a different school.
Academic Rigor classes require a lot of time and effort put into them. students should spend double the credit hours outside of class studying or working on anything to help further comprehend the material. all professors are willing to take the time to explain something that you may not understand.
Dorm Life the dorms are nice and clean. there are a new set of dorms that were put in at the beginning of the fall 2011 semester and they are very nice. apsu is in the process of tearing down the older dorms and putting in newer ones. there are also many different dormitories to choose from both directly on campus and some right behind it.
Food and Dining the cafe has an all you can eat, as close to homemade and southern as you can get, buffet for all three meals. the other places to get food are scattered in other buildings. there are kiosks and coffee shops. we have a chic-fil-a, papa johns, subway and are about to open our starbucks in our library.
What to do for fun there are tons of organizations and fun things to take place in. there are always fun people to meet and the close-by down town area is wonderful and full of things to do.
Bang for the buck as long as you put forth the effort in a class, you will learn as much as if you were in an ivy league school, for 1/4 of the cost. the classes can go very in depth and the teachers are extremely knowledgeable.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus there is a mudbowl every year. where groups or sororities or fraternities come together as a team and play games in the mud.
Great for these types of students apsu is perfect for determined students who are willing to truly learn and not hope to walk away with a degree.
Campus Safety apsu has the ap police. the ap police are everywhere you look. there are also help buttons around campus that are pretty close together. there is a very small crime rate at apsu.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot I am learning a lot about myself. Things that I thought I could never do, I am now doing at APSU, with help from my peers, advisors and professors. I am learning how to reach and achieve my goals at my full potential. I am learning how to be independant, and realizing my voice does count.
Am enjoying being here I am enjoying the people that I am meeting that come from all different walks of life. APSU has a lot to offer incoming freshmen especially during your freshmen orientation. There is always something happening on campus from concerts, to games to family weekends (which my little sister truly enjoyed attending).
Bang for the buck Even though funding today's education is hard for anyone. Like any college APSU has its set dollar amounts, but they have helped me in ways I cannot express by working with my family regarding fees. If it wasn't for the support of my family and APSU, I don't know where I would be today. So Bang for the buck -- APSU is right on target.
Tips for prospective students Go to an open-house, take a tour of the campus, meet the professors and other students while visiting. Be fully informed on every aspect APSU has to offer. Get involved, because you will realize that you are not alone. It's hard leaving home after high school, because college is a totally different world. APSU offers a special class for freshmen to help you become acclimated with campus life. They are there you help you everything step of the way. Get involved -- this is your future, and take it as high as you can.
Great for these types of students I am a very shy person, but being at APSU has helped me come out of my shell. The campus is small which truly fitted what I was looking for. I am acknowledged as a person at APSU and not just another student. I am part of a wonderful community, from the professors to the advisors to the students. I cannot say enough good things about APSU. So I think if you are looking for a smaller college with a lot to offer, then APSU should be your selection.

Categories Rating Comments Will learn a lot With the variety of classes at APSU, there is now way I couldn't learn a lot!
Will enjoy being here Austin Peay has a great campus and a wonderful variety of Student Organizations to be involoved in!
Bang for the buck It is definitely worth the money you pay. In fact, I am going to be going to school my first year, entirely free of charge because of scholarships, so not only is worth your money, there are plenty of opportunities to earn your keep too!
Tips for prospective students Get involved! I don't even start until August 29th and I am already an active part of three organizations here on campus! You won't get the full experience unless you're involved.
Great for these types of students APSU is great for ALL students.

Categories Rating Comments Academic Rigor the professor's teaching styles run the gamut when it comes to their methods. as long as you put forth the effort to stay on top of your work load, the material is easy and the classes engaging. free plug: if you need to take intro to sociology, i suggest taking dr flower. she's a ball of fun and loves teaching an interactive class, while the actual work load is restricted to a few in class projects, pop quizzes, scheduled online quizzes straight from the book, and exams.
Bang for the buck definitely a thorough education for less! well worth it, though if you take statistics, be sure to get your book from the bookstore on campus as it's actually cheeper. o_o i learned that the hard way last semester. also, make sure you sniff out your professors before taking their classes, i suggest ratemyprofessor.com, after all, a good professor can affect whether you leave the class with an a or d!
Tips for prospective students it's a nice sized campus where you can walk to any class in five minutes or less. the books aren't too expensive, but if you have to pay out of pocket, try amazon or ebay. buying from the bookstore gets a touch pricey. oh! and never take sociology and psychology at the same time (same terminology, different meanings!).
Great for these types of students honestly, everyone! we have an amazingly diverse campus filled with a diverse population of students!
