Categories Rating Comments Tips for prospective students Its basically just another community college. Its not that big a school. It has its good and not-so-good teachers just like any other school. Studying is STILL required. I was on that band wagon community college thing until I found out the hard way. Don't get behind.
Great for these types of students Living here is the best part. That is if you like small towns. Coming from the city, yes it is a small town. But I've grown to like it a lot. I stay in College Station even though its in Bryan (not too far a distance from each other.) Practically one in the same. I like to act like I go to Texas A&M :) It even feels like it. Its fun. If you like tradition, big on sports, and country music, this is perfect for you!

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot It's definately a big change from high school. Some teachers are set in their ways and have their own methods, so you just have to go with the flow. Classes aren't that bad, even if you slacked in high school. Just apply yourself and you should do fine.
Am enjoying being here It's close to my hometown, and Brenham is a great city. Not too big, but not to small.
Bang for the buck Classes are hundreds of dollars cheaper than universities because Blinn is technically a community college, but the classes are just as challenging.
Tips for prospective students Don't be afraid to consult the higher ups (counselors, teachers, ect.). They don't bite, and they're actually pretty helpful.
Great for these types of students Homey, rural types who aren't ready for changes.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot At Blinn College, I learned a great deal about the American government through my government class. I can now contribute to conversations about politics that I used to shy from.
I also learned a great deal about the nations that surround us through my World Geography class. During our class discussions, we would discuss current events.
I learned more in these classes than I ever learned from watching the repetitive news on t.v.Am enjoying being here Blinn College is a smaller school, so it was a nice transition from my small high school.
Bang for the buck Blinn is not very expensive and offers a lot of financial aid and services. I found the student center to be very helpful.
Tips for prospective students Although Blinn is a community college, the courses that I have taken have proven to be quite rigorous. They adequately prepare you for the university you would like to attend.
Blinn College also has a great dental hygiene program.Great for these types of students If you love a conservative and calm atmosphere, Blinn is a great place to go.
Also, students who want to attend Texas A&M University usually attend Blinn for one or two years. Blinn has the highest transfer rate to A&M. In fact, many of the professors at Blinn also teach courses at the A&M campus. It is a cheaper path to get some of the prerequisite courses out of the way before one is to pay the high tuition of Texas A&M UniversityLogin to rate or flag the reviews

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences The college is very small but has adequate professors. The enrollment process is quite easy for the amount of students that attend Blinn College. The advisers and staff are helpful.
Tips for prospective students Be sure to see the right advisor and ask plenty of questions.
Academic Rigor Demanding but not overwhelming.
Food and Dining Plenty of options available on campus. The bookstore have a small convenient section with snacks and beverages. The Student Center has two choices of places to eat and a beverage smoothie shop. Also there is a food truck that is found on campus during lunch hours.
What to do for fun The student center has a recreational section with two large televisions for either watching t.v. or gaming. Also there is a separated section with a ping pong table and other games.
Bang for the buck This school provides great education lessons for easy transfer to any desired university in Texas.
Great for these types of students Any student that are short on funds but would like a quality education. Also one that wishes to save money but not risk the opportunity to transfer to a prestige university.
Clubs and Activities Has a cornucopia of varieties of clubs and activities available.
Campus Safety It is one of the safest Blinn campus' available.

Categories Rating Comments Tips for prospective students If you like going to a small school, then Blinn is for you. The campus in Bryan (where I attended) consists of 5 buildings all connected to each other. Very small and very conservative. I did not like the small school atmosphere because along with that came the small town Texas feel. Very opposite of what I am used to. I learned more in high school than I did at Blinn and since I paid out of state, there was no bang for the buck. Pick early classes so you can get parking, otherwise, you won't ever find a spot.
Great for these types of students Students from small towns in Texas who are conservative Republicans will definitely enjoy Blinn! Students who prefer a smaller school over a bigger school. Students who enjoy the Texas A&M atmosphere.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences Blinn offers a very good quality of education that most colleges do not. Blinn's staff are very motivated to help students achieve their dreams of becoming professionals. In addition, Blinn has a very good tutoring area that is free of charge and always available.
Tips for prospective students Blinn's attendance policy is extremely strict and I recommend not missing classes unless there is a good reason. In addition, I recommend talking to the advisers about future classes that you will take in order to make sure the classes meet your future University requirements.
Academic Rigor It is very good, we are often challenged to preform at our best level. We are expected to give 120 percent in all of our academic work, and the teachers often help us achieve our potentials.
Dorm Life It is wonderful, and very convenient. The apartments for Blinn College are right next to Blinn making it very easy for a person to just walk to campus. In addition, they are very nice inside and out.
Food and Dining There are many choices for the food that is available. In addition, there is always a truck that sells food that comes with different menus at a cheap price. Also, there is a burger king around the corner, and a taco bell nearby.
What to do for fun College- Station Bryan is a place that one can find many activities to do for fun. My favorite one is to attend the clubs that are offered at Blinn because it is a chance to meet new people. The clubs even organized activities for its members. We also have two big movie theaters and a nice mall. In addition, we have an ice skating rink nearby.
Bang for the buck Money that is spend is not that much and always worth the cost. There is guaranteed financial aid to all students no matter their circumstances. The classes themselves are not very expensive and there are always books available at the library for each classes. I never bought a book for any of my classes because I would borrow the books offered by my Blinn library that helped me save a little money.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Blinn college is a regular size campus that is not very big and easy to find your way across it.
Great for these types of students For party people, quiet people, and smart people. Everyone can be in this campus and get along.
Clubs and Activities Wonderful! lots of fun and a great way to meet new people with common interests. In addition, it looks great on a resume. Recommend to try out the psychology club because they bring in very influential speakers that make one see life with a different perspective.
Greek Life Not experienced it
Campus Safety It is extremely safety. There are always police men walking around to make sure everything is under control.

Categories Rating Comments Tips for prospective students Good opportunity to improve your grades and think about what you want to do in the future.
Academic Rigor As long as you pay attention in class and put forth effort you should not have any problem passing.
Food and Dining Didn't eat there much but they have good smoothies.
What to do for fun Not much to do on campus.
Bang for the buck Great college if you're on a budget. I suggest doing core courses done here then transferring in order to save money instead of going straight to a 4 yr.
Great for these types of students Freshman, non-traditional students or anyone who's on a budget.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences It is a great junior college for students that are still indecisive on where they want to attend for a four year school. The teachers are very effective in one-on-one helping with their students. They keep their campus very clean and are very helpful in showing everyone around the campus.
Tips for prospective students Even though it is a junior college, keep your head straight because the two years you are there could be the key to your future, and which school you are able to go to after that.
Academic Rigor The academics are very good and are not ridiculously hard. If you need help with homework, teachers and other tutors can help with one on one assistance.
Dorm Life The dorm life is pretty well kept, and there are newer dorms in the middle of campus that are very well kept.
Food and Dining Food is very good and well priced for a meal plan. There is a cafe and a little burger shop with snacks and concessions incase you don't want to eat the food provided for that day.
What to do for fun There are all kinds of different fields to play sports, and an indoor basketball court to have pick up games for students.
Bang for the buck It is a great school for the low price, a great school to get your basics out of the way.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus none
Great for these types of students Students that still are looking for a four-year school and just want to get their basics out of the way.
Clubs and Activities There are different sports to get involved in, cheerleading, drill team, acting, choir, and different clubs based on classes.
Greek Life There is no greek life at Blinn due to it being a Junor College.
Campus Safety The safety is very good, they have cops and security that check on campus regularly.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences The teachers care and will for the most part help you with whatever it is your struggling with. I live in the on-campus apartments and sometimes i feel like they treat us like children and are not letting us grow up. There is a lot of violence and theft and i do not feel safe a lot of the time.
Tips for prospective students Don't think that because it is a Junior College that class is easy and you can blow it off, you get out what you put in.
Academic Rigor Chemistry has been the hardest class I have taken here and it was very challenging, all others have been moderately challenging.
Dorm Life I have had many run-ins with the apartment management and will not be living on-campus next year. It has been very miserable and I feel as if I'm being babysat.
Food and Dining Some days the food in the cafeteria tastes all right but it is all very greasy and fattening. It is very difficult to stay healthy eating on campus.
What to do for fun I play baseball here, but sometimes we go to college station which is only 30 minutes away. But in Brenham we go bowling, go to the movies, go to the driving range, and work out at the local gym.
Bang for the buck For the most part I am glad to get basics done here, because it is much more personal with the teachers and I do not feel that i would learn any more or more efficiently at a division 1 school.
Great for these types of students Athletes and those who aren't sure where they would like to go just yet.
Clubs and Activities Sports are huge here, almost everyone i have met is in some kind of athletics.
Campus Safety The campus has had many incidents with knives, fights, car break in, theft, and destruction to personal property. Very un-safe.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences It's a spitting image of the average high school campus, but luckily most of the professors don't treat everyone like the average high schooler. For a junior college, its tough, but the challenging classes are what make it so accredited when it comes to transferring to a four year. Overall, attending Blinn serves as great preparation for a larger college.
Tips for prospective students Blinn isn't all fun and games. If your working toward a major that would be hard at a four-year university, it will be hard at Blinn.
Academic Rigor Like I said before, Blinn is challenging, but that means it is only better for those ready to accept a challenge. In addition to their high standards in academics, Blinn also provides all the learning help you would find at any other college such as a math and writing center, as well as an overall learning center that works on all other subjects of study.
Dorm Life Dorm Life is non-existent at Blinn, because it is so small.
Food and Dining The Student Center has a few restaurants in it, as well as a game room with video games, ping-pong tables, etc. They hold several events here throughout the semester that have free food and other things to do for fun
What to do for fun It is a small campus, but if you keep up with whats going on around the school, there is always something to do. If your not into all the school events, you live right next to or in College Station.
Bang for the buck Blinn is one fourth the price of A&M, yet it provides the same education and/or preparation for transfer. Many A&M professors actually work at Blinn also (because of cuts on education). This only means your getting a better education for way cheaper!
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Blinn doesn't have much of anything as far as unusual tradition or location, but it is right down the road from A&M which has all of those things ten-fold.
Great for these types of students Anyone that is well capable, but doesn't have the money to attend a larger university. Anyone that doesn't want to go to school for four years, but wouldn't mind putting in two (years for an associate) to get some extra money in the bank for the rest of their life!
Clubs and Activities There are several different clubs throughout the different subjects of study at Blinn. Math, Science, and Anthropology Clubs are the three I have encountered while here. They go as far as having trips to different digging sites for archeological research and trips to NASA to to special tours only provided to college groups.
Greek Life It is advertised around Blinn campus, but I have not involved myslef in it at all.
Campus Safety Its a small campus, well lit at night, and I always see Campus or Bryan police roaming around watching the grounds.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences I'm sure its going to be a big change due to all the research and people telling me Brenham is no where near the size of Houston. Their mission statement sounds straightforward, and being an athlete I believe its the right choice for me to start small.
Tips for prospective students Get all the housing stuff out the way EARLY.
Academic Rigor It is junior college but its still college. My first priority is to not get caught behind.
Dorm Life Looking through them all 3 of 6 caught my eye. Not to expensive. Good thing the football team has their own residents hall.
Food and Dining Hopefully the food is better than in high school. It is a bit pricey to pay between $6 to $8 on breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day of the semester. Apply for scholarships to help save a couple of hundred dollars.
What to do for fun Besides football and organizations i hope theirs more things like the movies and mall outside the small town.
Bang for the buck Blinn has plenty of financial aid options and grants. Way more cheaper than a 4 year school.
Great for these types of students Those who want to start small or who wants to develop skills
Clubs and Activities Theirs enough to stay satisfied
Greek Life Looking forward to joining
Campus Safety Heard mostly good and some bad. Maybe average

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences Blinn is a great college....not too big...and it is easy to get around on campus. Class sizes are great and the professors actually know you and take an interest in you. The curriculum is top-notch....I would put it up against any school, and I know I have a good foundation to transfer to another university.
Tips for prospective students My tip would be to get involved in something on campus. If you are involved you have an opportunity to meet people and establish friendships. Everyone needs friends, and when you have friends you won't get as homesick and you can also create study groups, etc.
Academic Rigor The curriculum is tough at Blinn, but I think that will only make students stronger and better prepared for future endeavors.
Dorm Life Dorm life is fine.....I believe everyone should live in a dorm at some point in college....it's part of the college experience!
Food and Dining Well...cafeteria food is cafeteria food....not my favorite. Would suggest more healthy choices like chicken caesar salad, and more grilled items.
What to do for fun Most colleges tend to be located in small towns....so you really create your own fun. In Brenham there is a movie theater..so we would go there...but my group of friends would have movie night in the dorm...or make a trip to Walmart and mess around....or go to the trail and run....and go to nearby College Station and shop, or eat out, or go dancing.
Bang for the buck Blinn has been a great experience for me personally. Close enough to go home often, but far enough away to have the college experience. A great stepping stone for what is next. The tuition rates at Blinn are affordable and financial aid is available.
Great for these types of students Blinn has a great reputation for sports...so if you are an athlete, you can get a great education while playing a sport you love for a team that is well respected and competitive. I played a sport, so I know this first-hand.
Clubs and Activities I don't personally know too much about the clubs on campus. I stayed extremely busy with academics and softball.
Greek Life I don't personally know too much about this, either.
Campus Safety I have always felt extremely safe on campus. The campus has great lighting in and around the buildings and the dorms...and the outside door to the dorm is always locked.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences As far as junior college goes Blinn is one of the top in the entire nation. The campus and living provided is second to none. In addition the education received is excellent.
Tips for prospective students Make sure you plan your schedule with time between classes and take a tour to scout the location of your classes before school starts.
Academic Rigor Professors expect students to come to class and be punctual. Academics are important at Blinn so classes are intended for you to learn and retain your knowledge.
Dorm Life Dorm Life is a good experience, you meet new people, make new friends, but most of all you learn how to live on your own and adapt to new situations.
Food and Dining The cafeteria is good food and if you happen to be here on scholarship it's a very good way to save money.
What to do for fun Blinn has many events for students. Anything from going to watch sports, attending various events, and inter mural sports in both the fall and spring semesters.
Bang for the buck Blinn is absolutely a great school. It's hard to get an education like the one here at Blinn for the cost to go here.
Great for these types of students Ag. Students, Highly Competitive Livestock Judgers, and Talented athletes who are looking to go the Ju-co route first.
Clubs and Activities I am apart of the Livestock team and Ag. Club and in my opinion these two are one of a kind and can open many doors for your future careers.
Greek Life I am apart of the Phi Theta Kappa and can say this organization has been very beneficial to my academic career.
Campus Safety Campus is a very safe and clean environment. Police do regular patrol to ensure that everything is safe.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences Although advising is always a hassle, Blinn does there best to make it as simple as possible. They allow you to explore all your options and the teachers make learning easy and fun. The administration does a wonderful job of helping you take the next steps on your road to success.
Tips for prospective students Go to class! Sit in front! Take notes and highlight books! Always do your homework and if your taking a mental health day, double check for quizzes and test or things due that day. Get to know your professors and ask questions! Flash cards are my favorite study tool!
Academic Rigor You have to try and work hard, but you will get the grades you deserve.
Dorm Life It's kind of scary and I would advise a major remodel, along with some top notch security.
Food and Dining Nothing beats a home cooked meal, but the food is alright and very do able for a year.
What to do for fun Festivals are always fun! Bryan isn't very far for some good dancing and if you like history, you'll love this town! Blue Bell factory is a must!
Bang for the buck Pretty cheap! Tuition is paid, books are where they get you!
Clubs and Activities Good ideas, but they need more involvement
Campus Safety I would suggest that Blinn step up there game with campus safety.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences I rate Blinn College-Brenham Campus an 6 from a scale 1 to 10. They have qualified teachers but the school is constantly asking for extra money and it has to much campus police. They also show signs of discrimination.
Tips for prospective students If you are attending this college...only come for the 2 years then transfer and make sure that you are able to pay your tution and any extra.
Dorm Life Wheeler hall is the best dorm to live in because it has top security and the best rooms but its extremly expensive. $2500 per semester for a junior college is ridiculous.
Food and Dining The food isnt all that. The best place to eat is at the Cove because it actually has good food but they never change their food choices on the menu.
What to do for fun Go to the play room or play volleyball at the park but its a small town. Not much to do.
Bang for the buck Attending this school is alittle to expensive but then again it is a privately funded junior school so prices will always go up.
Great for these types of students This school is great for someone who just wants to start off small and cant handle a big college.
Clubs and Activities Volleyball, flagfootball, sack raices,pre-med club, math club. etc

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences blinn has a great variety of worldwide, intelligent professors. but getting a hold of someone in administation is tedious and annoying. overall this is a great college to get your associates, or just enough credits to transfer.
Tips for prospective students sign up for classes as early as possible and try pickaprof.com to hear from other students who had professors here. that way you can seach your professor before you take the class to see how hard/easy it's going to be.
Academic Rigor if you do the work and attend your classes, you can easily make a good grade in every class.
Dorm Life no dorms on campus, community college
Food and Dining nasty caffeteria food, needs to have better options like a subway or something.
What to do for fun many clubs and activities, art club, theatre club, science club...pretty much a club for every interest.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences the brenham campus is small enough to walk but big enough to get plenty of exercise. there are many clubs available to join and there is always free fun things going on. they also have great helpful teachers that really do care about their students and they all want you to do well.
Tips for prospective students register for classes early so you always get the best classes with the best teachers. keep up with your work or you will regret it at the end of the semester. get to know your teacher's teaching styles and personalities, it could help a lot. always do what your teachers suggest, they know what they are talking about they do this every semester and it is likely to put you on their good list.
Academic Rigor i give it a four because some teachers are very easy because they don't take roll and the only time you need to be there is to review for the tests before hand and they practically tell you what to write to get an a. there also teachers that include lots of simple homework and quizzed that help you get a better grade. other teachers give little information for the test, that are timed and it is nearly impossible to pass with a good grade.
Dorm Life i am a commuter student and there is plenty of parking everywhere, but don't expect it to be too close to classes.
Food and Dining there are many places to eat in brenham and the city is very easy to navigate. the campus also has good home cooked southern food and good staff. there is an alternative dining option called the cove, it is basically a burger joint inside the student center.
What to do for fun there is a skating rink in just outside of town and blue bell creamery is too so you could tour it. there are many sports events to attend. game nights, dances, ice cream socials and if that is not enough college station isn't far away.
Bang for the buck blinn college is a sister school to texas a&m so any class you take will transfer there and is hundreds of dollars cheaper. most of the classes will transfers to most universities in texas.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus there is a building on campus called old main. it was the blinn college before it grew up. it is a beautiful building on the inside and out.
Great for these types of students people who are ready to go somewhere big, anyone in the brazos valley area looking to save a buck, or someone who isn't sure what they want to do or if they really want to continue with formal education.
Clubs and Activities phi theta kappa honor society, gaming society, naturalist club, blinn republicans group, m.e.d. club, marching band, theater, service learning, dance team, intramural and competitive sports
Campus Safety it is fairly small, there are police around every corner and it is difficult to speed through campus as well for that very reason, so you won't get run over.

You will probably start with like 30 in a class then by the end of the semester it will dwindle to about 20 due to drops and excessive absences. But when it comes to classwork/homework there is a much heavier amount of it given than in high school. This should be expected because it is college, even though it's a junior college.
Am enjoying being here I am attending the Blinn in Brenham, and coming froma big town like Houston it was quite the adjustment! Yes it is a small town with very little to do, but being able to live on campus really makes it a fun school. I am in band too so that adds to the fun aspect also.
Bang for the buck I think it is best that if you don't want to spend alot on school your first two years then junior college is the way to go! I applied for scholarships, and took out a loan even though that wasn't my first choice, but thankfully it wasn't a huge loan. Blinn is fairly cheap and it is definitely a bang for your buck.
Tips for prospective students DO HOMEWORK! In all of your classes it is super important because it is like half of your grade. The other half is tests/quizzes. So do your homework. Oh and of course STUDY!
Great for these types of students Not quite ready for a university setting, but want to live on a campus away from home.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot It is still my first year here, but so far Blinn is a good college, especially for core classes.
Am enjoying being here The teachers here are very good and nice, which is more than most community colleges can say.

Will enjoy being here I am so excited about being at Blinn, Bryan
Bang for the buck Believe I will receive a great education with the cost!
Tips for prospective students The registration process is not very organized, they will NOT answer their phones. Be proactive, it is best that you go to the campus and do things in person.
Great for these types of students If you have attended a small school. This campus will be a great transition for you

Am enjoying being here The professors and staff have a tendency of having a bad attitude. The parking is AWFUL!
Bang for the buck Average, though if you are in Bryan you are out of district. :/
Tips for prospective students The Administration is awful. Don't expect any help there!
