Categories Rating Comments In three sentences Cheap, but efficient. Classes have a wide range, and the student population is just as diverse.
Tips for prospective students Don't be afraid to take a class here. Especially if you aren't sure what you want to do after college. A cheap class here may help you decide a major.
Academic Rigor It's a community college, but it has a great reputation. Classes are very dependent on the professor you get. Some will be easy, some hard. Check ratemyprofessor.com before taking any class.
Dorm Life Non-existant.
Food and Dining Food is OK, but *VERY* overpriced.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot This school is very cheap and to be honest you get what you pay for. There are very few good teachers, but most either just don't care or expect way to much of you. I do not recommend taking their online classes. Those classes can either be extremely difficult (as in the teachers expect way to much and give you no guidance whatsoever), or they are way to easy to the point that it's a waste of money since you're not learning anything.
Am enjoying being here I personally hated it here and I am so glad I am transferring out. The guidance counselors were of zero help to me (if the info is not on the computer they don't know anything even though it's their job to give me some sort of information). I saw three counselors; one was just guessing and all her information turned out to be wrong, another I was telling her information because unlike her I actually went on the school website and read everything and the last told me nothing and was very condescending. Most of the teachers are a joke, they seem to be decent people, but rarely do you find one that is actually good at teaching.
Bang for the buck As I've said you get what you pay for. It seems like they try to get the bare minimum. I learned way more and got so much more out of my years in high school than I did at Tri-C. It's a decent place to go when you don't know what to do for a career because you can knock general education classes paying a lot less than what you would at a university.
Tips for prospective students Avoid taking online classes. The online classes can two ways where they are so easy it's a waste of money, or they expect way too much of you while offering little guidance if any. I've taken four online classes and the history ones are always the hardest and I'm not sure why. (I am a history nut, so this is pretty bad for me) My history classes basically gave you the book and expected you to guess what was on the quizzes and tests with no study guides, no notes, nothing. The chapters are very long and what's on the quizzes and tests can be really anything, from dates, whether this person is the cousin of another person. It's insane sometimes.
Great for these types of students It's good for people trying to get into a specific program like nursing, but the waiting lists for programs like that are extremely long and can be a wait of up to 3 or even 4 years. Also, it's a decent option for someone who doesn't know what they want to go to school for (like myself) and wants to just knock out general education classes at more than half the cost you would pay at a university. All and all I hated it and more often than not thought it was a waste of time and money for the bare minimum of quality.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences Tri-C has the cheapest tuition in the state and is well-known for their RN (ADN) program. They move very fast on processing financial aid awards, and the counselors are extremely helpful!
Tips for prospective students I would recommend buying textbooks online rather than in the bookstore as you can find them cheaper used. I would also recommend going to the school in-person if you need assistance, it can be a little difficult getting things accomplished over the phone.
Academic Rigor I haven't begun my classes yet so I can't accurately evaluate how challenging the curriculum is. It is a community college so they accomodate students at all learning levels, from recent high school graduates with honors, to adult learners who are returning to school after working full-time for many years. They offer free tutoring as well!
Dorm Life There is no on-campus residence.
Food and Dining I have not yet visited the cafeteria, but there is a dining area in the student center located near the bookstore.
Bang for the buck Once again, Tri-C is by far the cheapest way to go. If you are pursuing a 4-year or higher degree I would highly recommend going here to complete your prerequisites-it could save you up to 30,000 dollars. In addition, Cuyahoga Community college has transfer agreements with a multitude of 4-year universities in the Northeast Ohio region.
Great for these types of students Adult students with full-time jobs, or students who need night and weekend classes.
Campus Safety On the few occasions I have visited the school, I have always seen campus security. Its located in a suburban area so there isn't a lot of crime.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences CCC is an excellent college. I learned so much when I was a student at CCC. Those were the best years of my life (other than now).
Tips for prospective students Go to class with expectation!
Academic Rigor CCC prides itself in being a mighty junior college.
Dorm Life Dorm Life does not apply to CCC.
Food and Dining I seldom purchased any food from CCC.
What to do for fun CCC has a lot of fun activities open to the public, as well as opportunities for students to enhance their world perspective.
Bang for the buck Because CCC is a junior college, tuition fees are not as expensive as a university; and when I was a student, I learned from the best instructors anywhere. CCC has 3 major campuses along w/ satellite sites throughout the city which makes it a more valuable investment for students.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus I am not aware of any unusual traditionns or locations on CCC's campuses.
Great for these types of students CCC is an excellent school for any and every body.
Clubs and Activities I was not involved in any club or acitivites when I was a student at CCC.
Greek Life It's GreeK to me.
Campus Safety I never had any issues where campus safety was a concern, nor did I hear of any concerns while I was a student.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences Needs to improve the amount of classes made available for students to complete their educational requirements needed to ascertain a culinary arts degree.
Tips for prospective students Make sure that the school of your choice is not based on lip service to get you there only to find out that they are lacking in their commitment to your education.
Academic Rigor I love being back in school; however, I find that the academic challenges that I am experiencing as mentioned above can be a bit daunting.
Food and Dining Cafeteria food is terrible!
What to do for fun Read, bake, cook and create recipes.
Bang for the buck There's nothing exciting to tell about Tri-C except that the people in charge are more worried about money than making sure that their students are receiving a great education. Maybe if they actually took the time to acknowledge the needs the students they would have less financial worries. Word of mouth is a powerful thing especially with today's social media. I can guarantee you that there is not a student out there that will brag about the wonderful opportunities at Tri-C Community College. I will never recommend this school to any student as an excellent choice to receive an education.
Great for these types of students Made to go to school by mom and dad but, have no desire to get an education.
Campus Safety Lockers are broken into a lot.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences Tri-C isn't the greatest school, but you get what you pay for. There are some teachers that shouldn't be allowed to teach, but others that are like diamonds in the rough. The Wifi is horrible, so if you're planning to do any online homework, plan to do it at home.
Tips for prospective students Take an english class with Professor Hurst. She's a wonderful woman, and an amazing teacher. She'll challenge you, but it's worth it. Make sure you budget your time wisely; if you take online classes, don't forget about deadlines like I frequently have. Don't rely on the Wifi here to do anything because it's horrible.
Food and Dining The food...just get something at Wendy's or Heinen's before you come to class.
What to do for fun There are plenty of clubs around campus and there are plenty of events happening during the school day to just sit and watch.
Bang for the buck For the money, I've had a few wonderful teachers. Then again, I've had a few horrible teachers, which prevented me from learning anything at all. For the money, it's a good deal, I suppose.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences tri-c has been my window to a great educational experience and is staffed with highly devoted educators and faculty members. i have never once during my experience at tri-c felt as if i was offered anything less in a sense of education quality and availability/accessibility of educational resources provided to enhance my learning than i would have been at any other university. i don't doubt that this college will continue to flourish and expand its already wide range of opportunity for the young, the old and the unemployed.
Tips for prospective students my advice to any student considering tri-c would be to take advantage of the resources provided such as the tutoring centers, laboratories, the counselors, the academic advisers, and the many other amenities this college provides to ensure your success as a member of their alumni. another crucial piece of advice would be to see a counselor prior to registering. take the time to discuss your future, and map out an educational timeline and do your best to stick with it. this will help you achieve your goal in a timely organized manner whilst avoiding wasted credit hours put forth on your behalf. good luck!
Academic Rigor tri-c, like any other university or college follows a certain criteria of curriculum which allows courses taken to be transferred to 4-year universities. this means that you should expect to put in just as much effort if not more in your courses, especially if you are attending a 14 week session which is more fast paced and condensed. it isn't a walk in the park, but where there's a will there's... the tutoring center.
Food and Dining you will find a cafeteria at all of the main campuses, however the corporate campuses usually just have a cafe' with beverages and snacks. in my opinion, its kind of pricey, but its nice to be able to get a decent cup of coffee if you're taking on a night class!
What to do for fun there are plenty of lounge areas throughout the campus where you can just relax in between classes with your friends. also, the college gets really creative with activities, musical events, theatrical events hosted by various clubs. there's always the gym, pool and dance classes which are fun too!
Bang for the buck in my honest opinion, it doesn't get any better than this when it comes to a low cost highly functional and facilitated college with outstanding academic accreditation.
Great for these types of students all types! the student body greatly varies in ranges from high school students to 40+ age groups and everything in between. courses are offered through the day and night and even on weekends at various locations to fit the schedule of anyone who is either employed, or obligated with other responsibilities which allows students to commit to their studies without interfering with daily routines.
Clubs and Activities many clubs and organizations are available for students who wish to pursue their field of study or just because it's a club with shared interests and hobbies.
Greek Life i know that there is a phi theta kappa organization.
Campus Safety the campus is staffed with security guards and police officers in and around the premises to ensure safety. also, there are yellow emergency call boxes in almost every hallway just in case there is an emergency. overall, the campuses are deemed safe in my opinion.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences you walk in to a cozy atmosphere with an almost at home feeling. most teachers at tri-c are knowledgeable and will take extra time to help you out around the clock. with 3 main campuses and a bunch more on the side it's very flexible if you move to another part.
Tips for prospective students realize that with the freedom of college comes a bigger responsibility to go to class and get yourself a good education. you can do that here.
Academic Rigor the classes vary, while some can be quite challenging others can be very mundane and easy.
Dorm Life i'm not aware of any dorms.
Food and Dining when dining at the western campus in the warmer months, there's nothing like sitting outside and enjoying the amazing view around the campus. the food however is nothing special to a typical college cuisine
What to do for fun the tlc is full of computers for students to access at any given time. tri-c also has some sport teams including a basketball team where ben wallace started his college career.
Bang for the buck if you're a resident of cuyahoga you can't find a better deal out there.
Great for these types of students students that aren't sure and don't want to spend a fortune at a university can come here and transfer credits at a later time.
Campus Safety the police patrol the parking lot and have a station in the campus for safety.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences It's really a toss of the coin on whether or not you will have a positive experience. In general, the teachers are knowledgeable but it does not make up for their lack of interest in the students. In summary, you get out of it as much as you put in to it.
Tips for prospective students Stay on track with your studies and participate in class. This is an open enrollment college so the teachers expect the worst and learn who actually cares about being there. No one will hold your hand for you.
Academic Rigor The nation as a whole tends to be dumbing-down their curriculum, so don't let this turn you off of community college.
Dorm Life Entirely off-campus living, I stay nearby for about $500/month.
Food and Dining I would consider stocking up your fridge or living off fast food.
What to do for fun There are many clubs and organizations to get involved with. A few intramural teams, but no football. Downtown Cleveland has quite the night life.
Bang for the buck Covered 100% by FAFSA.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot Cuyahoga Community College has high academic standards and I have enjoyed the challenges of reaching these standards through hard work and long study times,
Am enjoying being here I have enjoyed being a student here. All of the professors are willing to talk to their students and help them become better students.
Bang for the buck I am extremely satisfied with the quality of education I am receiving compared to the dollars being spent. If I were going to a private school I would be paying up to ten times more money that would create a financial hardship when I would have to start repaying the loans that I would have to get. I am happy to be at Cuyahoga Community College and value the education that I am receiving.
Tips for prospective students My advice to prospective students is they should investigate going to a community college to satisfy their basic core requirements and then transfer to a four year college where they can concentrate on their major and subsequently receive their bachelor's degree.
Great for these types of students Not only is a community college great to use a stepping stone to a bachelor's degree, it also offers associate degrees needed for many fields of work. It will definitely improve your ability to obtain a good paying job.
