    Am learning a lot

It is a great place to start. The educators are very knowledgable and I feel that I have gotten a lot out of the classes I have taken thus far.

    Am enjoying being here

Its a great little community, that feels more like a family. Everyone is very helpful and you will feel welcomed from the very first step in the door.

    Bang for the buck

Its a great place where you can still learn exactly what you need to learn, sometimes more, than sending thousands of dollars for your basics.

    Tips for prospective students

I would suggest coming to a community college before going to a university because you will get more one-on-one attention and have smaller classes and it will help you adjust to college life at the beginning. It is also cheaper by taking your basics that will transfer to your choice of university.

El Paso Community College is the best place to start. It is a great place to start if you are a student who does not qualify for financial aid. It offers many different associates degrees, and you can obtain it in two years or less.

    Tips for prospective students

If you are thinking of attending college in the future El Paso Community College would be a place where you might want to start. It has more than three different locations, and it provide classes with a small amount of students. This is in advantage to have 1-to-1 student-teacher time. This is the place where you can get all the basics out of the way, and transfer the hours to the University of your choice. Also the price of tuition is much smaller than that of a University.

    Academic Rigor

The academic rigor of this institution is at a reasonable level. Most of the teachers understand there are responsibilities outside of school and work with you on due-dates of assignments. There are also teachers that challenge their students and expect for them to put 100 % to the class. It is challenging but not impossible.

    Dorm Life

They do not offer dormitories since it’s a community college and have more than 3 locations available throughout the city of El Paso. This means you can stay home, and have no need to pay a dorm.

    Food and Dining

Every location has a cafeteria inside, and each of them offers different types of food. Some have subway, Mexican food, even coffee shops. It’s not the greatest food but there are many restaurants available outside of the college that are very close.

    What to do for fun

There are many different clubs to join. There is the SGA which stands for Student Government Association, for those who are interested in laws. There is the Cross-Country club, and many more sports to join for those who are athletes. They have a lot of events that go on throughout the semester. You can check-it out at their home page www.epcc.edu

    Bang for the buck

Much cheaper than a University, if you are a student who does not get any financial help this is the best option for you. Get your basics out of the way as fast as you can, and at an affordable price. In no time you can obtain a Certification or Associates degree and transfer the hours completed to the University of your choice! Also the parking sticker is 25 dollars for one year, that is very affordable.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

Some traditions the College has are free food for students on special holidays. Also some vendors come to the college, set-up and sell many different things. They sell Mexican candy, jewelry, and many other things. The blood donations also set up every semester in all the campuses and promote blood donations. (Teachers tend to give extra-credit points to those who donate)

Great for these types of students

Once again it is great for those students who are not eligible for financial aid, and have to pay full price for the tuition. It offers payment plans and classes are very affordable. It is also great for those who want to get the basics out of the way as fast as they can, and not have too much pressure from teachers. Most of the teachers in this College are very flexible with the students and very understanding.

    Clubs and Activities

There are many clubs and activities going on during the semesters. They have the Honors Program, SGA (Student Government Association), Phi Theta Kappa club and many activities. Some activities promote physical health, like ‘Race for the Cure,’ and some are to help the least fortunate like food donations. Other activities are for students, for example Art Festivals and Art exhibitions. These are competition among students; the winner either gets money, a lap tops, an iPad etc.

    Campus Safety

The College has its own police department which is always rounding around the college parking and buildings. In the years that I have attended this college I have not had any problems regarding this. I feel safe, even when I take night classes.

    Am enjoying being here

I really enjoy being here because everybody here is nice and helpful. The school is really big and pretty.

    Bang for the buck

It is worth it being here because I'm learning and enjoying being here.

    Tips for prospective students

To never give up and always try your hardest because no one will help you finish school more than yourself.

Great for these types of students

This school is good for everybody because it has a lot of different classes. I didn't imagine for there to be so many different careers.

El Paso Community College is the best place to start. The college offers opportunities for virtually every degree plan. The price of the school for the quality of education is a steal.

    Tips for prospective students

Prospective students should try to register several months in advanced to avoid registering for classes late. The classes will fill up quick so registering early is priority.

    Academic Rigor

The teachers are flexible enough to keep it fair, but not overly flexible to where nothing is being learned. The classes go at a reasonable pace and teachers make sure material is being understood. El Paso Community College will give all students a great academic challenge.

    Dorm Life

    None Applicable

    Food and Dining

Every branch of El Paso Community College has its food perks. Subway, Tazos, and frozen gelatin are offered at the Transmountain campus. The school makes an effort to enforce a healthier diet.

    What to do for fun

The campus is surrounded by a work out trail. The equipment is a great, fun way to stay in shape before, after, or in between classes.

    Bang for the buck

A great quality of education for a great low price. It makes going to school much more possible for many financially struggling students.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

Several times a semester the school will allow vendors to go to the school and sell goods. The school is also interested in helping students find jobs so every semester they hold a job fair at the school. Furthermore, the school will host fun free events such as rock climbing, basketball shooting contest, and much more.

Great for these types of students

All students would greatly benefit from this school.

    Clubs and Activities

The school has a variety of clubs. If nothing sparks the interest of a student then the student is able to make a club of their own for others to join. The opportunities of clubs are endless.

    Campus Safety

Multiple campus policemen patrol the entire campus. The policemen will walk students to their vehicle if the student feels it necessary. Women are usually the ones that prefer to be walked to their vehicle after dark.

The campus is small, so it's easy to get to all of my classes on time. There are so many different courses and a great advisor team to help me chose which ones are best for me. All of my teachers are ambitious and it's easy for me to follow along in class.

    Tips for prospective students

You should always register for classes as soon as registration begins because if you wait last minute, you might not get the classes you need. The library is one of the best spots to study because its spacious and really quiet. Getting to school early is always better if you want to find close parking.

    Academic Rigor

There are teachers who try to get you excited about the course your taking and they lecture as though their life depended on it! The rigor is not so hard, but at times very tedious. To pass most of the classes you have to make sure you study and if your teacher gives you study reviews, then you will need them.

    Dorm Life

EPCC does not have dorms on campus because everyone lives so close to it anyway, it's just easy to get to.

    Food and Dining

There is a lady who cooks for the school, her name is Conchita! She has the best food you could possibly imagine. It might be a bit pricey at times, but worth every penny. There are also vending machines with healthy snack and plenty of beverage vending machines.

    What to do for fun

There are so many different clubs and student activities on campus. The student governement holds all sorts of special events at the campus that sometimes allow the student to win cool prizes like a Nook or a Kindle. We can also play pool and foosball in the main building.

    Bang for the buck

The classes are worth it. Tuition is going up everywhere and EPCC is just way more affordable than a 4 year university.

Great for these types of students

If you work part time and have kids or just out of high school, this college is the absolute best. Your teachers can work with you if you have emergencies and almost all of the assignments you need to catch up on can be found online with the days lecture!

    Clubs and Activities

There are too many clubs to count at this school! Some of the ones that really stand out would be Theatre club and Geology Team.

    Greek Life

There is no greek life at EPCC.

    Campus Safety

The campus is safe. There is a campus police in the main building and there is always a policemen outside roaming around the parking lots to give out tickets to parking violators. There is no fighting at the campus, mostly because there are adults there and so everyone is expected to behave like such.

    Tips for prospective students

Starting on yor goals is never easy but once you achieve getting your foot in the door things slowly fall in place and you begin to see that the world awaits for people loke us that are willing to give it our best effort in becoming someone. Prove to yourself and to others that it is possible if your only willing to give it a chance. The only thing that stands between you and what your capable of doing is your decision to believe in your self.

    Academic Rigor

Though it is a challenge nothing is impossible and one day when the time comes to look back it will all be worth the effort, the time and and that good axample that you have also set for others.

    What to do for fun

    Academic Rigor

The academic Rigor as to any other college is from my point of view average, the classes I have being taking during the summer during the past 2 years have not being as hard as studying an average of 3 hours daily after the classes, considering also the fact that as a nursing student you have to acquired the responsibilities and professionalism that there are as a Health Care Provider. In conclusion the classes are not hard, but challenging in a way that you learn everything that is in the syllabus of the class.

    Am learning a lot

It's great! The smaller class sizes here allow much student-teacher interaction. Teachers are able to joke around with students and still keep us on task. They are always available! Now it's not easy either, you still have to work for your grade. You want an A? Prove it!

    Am enjoying being here

I really love the student involvement. I am greatly involved in my school and because of this, my advisor offered me a job! Also, most of these organizations here offer stipends and more. Everything has it's own way of contributing to your education as well as your resume.

    Bang for the buck

The tuition is great here. It's reasonable. Paying $1,000 for 4 classes isn't that bad. It's rather impressive.

    Tips for prospective students

If you do plan to attend EPCC, I strongly suggest getting involved and always check your e-mail. Because of my e-mail, I applied for an internship to go to Salzburg, Austria and got the it! You never know what your e-mail can offer.

Great for these types of students

This school is excellent for students who want an idea of what college life is like. First time college students: this is a great way to learn study habits, how to juggle school and work, and how to talk to your teachers. This school is also great for those students who have families and want to further their education. EPCC is quite flexible with schedules. El Paso Community College slogan: The Best Place to Start.

I enjoyed being there, in many respects, as it gave me a head start on going to college.

    Bang for the buck

I would say there is great bang for the buck, because I paid nothing. I was a Dual Credit student, going for High School and college credit both. From what I have heard about prices it is still great for its price.

    Tips for prospective students

Complete your application and placement tests as soon as possible. Be prepared to deal with teachers and students with different personalities and beliefs from you.

Great for these types of students

Great for Dual Credit students, students who wish an easier transition from High School to College, or even those who are returning after many years of no school.
