Categories Rating Comments Will learn a lot Gardner-Webb is a generally small university; the class sizes at GWU provides an excellent environment for learning, asking questions, and getting involved. It's a good thing that at GWU your professor can know you. At GWU your not just a number, your a student!
Will enjoy being here The environment was pleasant. There are nice big quads (green grass areas) located right outside the halls and buildings. Their quad is a great place to study, or play frisbee! The staff and students were very friendly. Gardner-Webb has a lot of events for their students, many stay on campus for the weekends. Something fun to do is usually held on Friday at their campus.
Tips for prospective students Stay on top of deadlines and do extra researching during the summer on colleges. Check Gardner-Webb out it is a great university in North Carolina.

Categories Rating Comments Will learn a lot I haven't started here yet, but on my tour I got to meet professors and I know I will learn a lot. They cared enough to stop and talk to you about potential majors, your intrests, and many I talked to exchanged email addresses with me, so we could keep in touch about classes I was intrested in taking.
Will enjoy being here GWU is in a small town, but Boiling Springs is a great. Plus, the campus holds movie nights and other activities, so there's almost always something to do. It also has a great Christian atmosphere and a beautiful campus. The students and admission staff are so friendly and were so willing to help. The dorms are great and clean, and most are close to the quad.
Bang for the buck GWU is expensive, but the cost is worth it. Classes are small and you get a lot of personal attention from professors.
Tips for prospective students Take a tour. I toured at Dawg Days and it is so much fun. You take a campus tour and attend a financial aid session, go to a falculty fair, and eat lunch in the student center, and if you go in the fall you get to watch a football game for free. The second I stepped on campus I knew it was the place for me.
Scholarships are so important. GWU is expensive and they do offer some great scholarships, so make sure you pay attention to deadlines.
Take advantage of Overnight at the Pound visits. They give you the opportunity to stay the night in a dorm, sit in on classes, and see what it's like to actually be a student.Great for these types of students Hard-working

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot Gardner-Webb University allows you to not just be part of the university as a student but to work along side the staff, professors and help the community in projects and activities. The classes are small which allows for a more personal interaction with classmates and professors. Professors and staff care about the students success and make you feel important not just a number in the class.
Am enjoying being here I enjoy being at Gardner-Webb because of the people and opportunities I have to work along side my professors and advisers not only in classroom but in the community of Boiling Springs. It has been easy to make friends and become involved in activities as a freshman student because of the mentoring program GWU provides to new students.
Bang for the buck The cost of Gardner-Webb is more than a public university but the advantages offered on the campus are worth it. The campus is awesome and provides great places to hang out with friends. GWU is in a small town but there is always something to do on campus or in about 15- 30 minutes you can go to one of the larger towns for more restaurants, shopping or movies.
Tips for prospective students I recommend for prospective students that they spend a night or weekend on campus and check out what it has to offer. GWU is great about making the arrangements, you stay in one of the dorms and have a GWU student to hang out with for the weekend. A great way to get the feel of college life, the GWU students and the campus.
Great for these types of students GWU is great for students who want or like a more personal experience with other students and college staff. It is a Christian University so you will not have the typical public university environment. If you are a student seeking a good education, a heart to serve, and a small school GWU is for you.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot Gardner-Webb is a great school. The professors are extremely helpful and are willing to meet with you at any time. One of my professors even had his class over for dinner! The professors here build relationships with their students and always seem to help their students whether its with school, personal problems, or anything you can think of.
Am enjoying being here the school itself i have no complaints about, i think the campus is as great as it can be. but as for a location, its in the middle of know where and can get extremely boring. if you attend here you should get involved in as many activities, clubs, intramurals, etc. as possible!
Bang for the buck Extremely good price for the school, the campus is beautiful and highly regarded in the area. The education is absolutely fabulous.
Tips for prospective students Don't come here and plan to party! Dry campus and county, the campus police and RA's are very strict about alcohol and tobacco.
Great for these types of students This school would be great for Christians, every religion is welcomed here but we take pride in our Christianity! Blind, deaf, and hard of hearing, because we have a great program for these people. The noel program suits needs for them and you can look it up on their website i think! This is also a good school for athletes, we are a division 1 program in every sport that we have. This school is also great for people that are used to living in the country! I truly believe that anybody could fit in here because there are so many groups, clubs, intramural, etc that people can be a part of.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot I am currently enrolled in the GOAL program here at GWU. I am enrolled in 5 classes. I am taking 4 of my classes online and 1 of my classes I have actually on the Boiling Springs campus at night. Some individuals say that you can never learn when taking online classes, but that is a very untrue statement. Yes, you have to put all your time into studying; however, I am learning so many new things this semester. Also, with my class that I am taking in class, Quantitative Methods of Business, I have never done this work before, but I am really learning a lot in this class and getting the hang of the information.
Am enjoying being here I am living at my house, but as I said, I go to the campus once a week, and I really do enjoy it. I just started at GWU, as I stated, and I really do enjoy it! I always tell everyone that I come in contact with that I really am enjoying it. Also, everybody is so very kind here at GWU, the professors, employees, advisors, and other students.
Bang for the buck The education that you receive at GWU is definitely a bang for the buck. It may be pretty expensive compared to other schools; however, when you get the great education that you get here at GWU, it really does pay off with the money situation.
Tips for prospective students My tips for any student would be when you are starting out at any college, not just GWU, make sure that you get to know your professors at the start of the semester. Send them emails, go in and talk to them. Don't wait till you fail a test to start getting to know the professor. You have to show the professor that you really do care about your education and that you want the best out of the teaching from the professor. Also, if you take any online classes, make sure that you spend all your time studying, don't slack off on your studying, online classes could be hard if students don't study, but for the ones that put their best effort into their classwork, it will pay off!
Great for these types of students I feel that GWU is great for students that are determined to do their best to get their college education!

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot The professors are wonderful and are willing to help in any part of the day. The university is small enough so that the professors can get to know you as a person, and not just a number.
Am enjoying being here I love the atmosphere of the school. When you walk onto this campus you can feel the warmth and the welcome from the Gardner-Webb community.
Bang for the buck Worth every bit of the money that you spend here.
Tips for prospective students When you start school, have your mind on your studies first, and the other things second. Your studies are the most important thing in college.
Great for these types of students A student who loves to get to know their professor and grow a relationship with them that goes farther than just the classroom. If you ever have a problem then you can always go back to an old professor and they will help you just like you still had them.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot I just finished my first year at Gardner-Webb and I've learned so much already just in my core classes. One advantage of Gardner-Webb being a private school is that the classes are smaller so you are able to get to know the professors on a personal basis and if you have question they are more than willing to answer it. Gardner-Webb offers tutoring and other services to help insure that you not only learn the material, but you can also understand and apply it to your life.
Am enjoying being here I have absolutely enjoyed every minute that I've been at Gardner-Webb. I feel like this is exactly where I am supposed to be; it is my home away from home. From the campus and the courses, to the students and professors, to the clubs and activities - I love everything that Gardner-Webb has to offer. I fell in love with this school the first time I visited, and after living on campus for a year my admiration is still just as strong.
Bang for the buck The price is the only downside that I can think of about a Gardner-Webb. It is expensive, but you definitely get what you pay for. The education and the experience you will receive at Gardner-Webb can not compare to that of a cheaper public school.
Tips for prospective students My first tip would be to visit the campus. I believe that is the only way you can truly grasp everything that Gardner-Webb has to offer. For me, the visit was my deciding factor. The first time I stepped on the campus I knew that I would spend my next four years there. My second tip would be to look into scholarships and financial aid programs. As I mentioned earlier, the only downside to Gardner-Webb is the price. It is worth the expense though, so if you can figure out a way to pay for it then it makes your decision much easier.
Great for these types of students Gardner-Webb is great for students who are searching for a school that will not only help them to further their education, but also further their walk with Christ.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot Currently I'm enrolled in the core classes needed to graduate, I just completed my first round of finals for all of these classes. I am learning a lot and I'm enjoying many classes I before thought I would not.
Am enjoying being here It is a very nice campus, very small and the students are very welcoming to new students. Before the first semester all new students are involved in freshman orientation where you'll meet your big brothers/ big sisters and participate in community service along with other building activities. It is a very nice environment to learn in.
Bang for the buck It is a very expensive private college, it is important to have scholarships.
Tips for prospective students Get on the scholarships! These are vital in your education at Gardner-Webb!
Great for these types of students Any, the town that G.W. is located is a very small, quite country town. The closest big town is Charlotte therefore it's probably not for people that want to part or go out a lot.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot I am currently enrolled in the Education Program at Gardner-Webb University. The environment is friendly and you will get a lot of one on one attention. The only disadvantage is the lack of time spent in outside schools.
Tips for prospective students Make sure you ask all of the questions you need to know before starting the program of our choice.
Great for these types of students The campus is a must if you are a small town guy or girl. The atmosphere is friendly and so are the people.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences Gardner-Webb is a safe and friendly environment that allows you to grow in so many ways. Gardner-Webb has the nicest teachers that genuinely care about your future and your success as a student. Gardner-Webb has fun activities that keep the students interested.
Tips for prospective students Go to every class because that is what you are paying for and teachers notice your attendance. Also, don't be so attached to one set of friends, get acquainted with everyone. Always talk to your teachers when you do not understand something.
Academic Rigor Academic rigor depends on the teacher and his or her teaching style. Some teachers make learning fun with their teaching style, other teachers not so much. The challenge is based on you and how you learn best.
Dorm Life Dorm life depends on which dorm you live in and who your residence are. All the dorms are clean and safe, but the people on your hall make up your dorm life.
Food and Dining The food in the cafeteria was not always the best, but we had chic-fil-a in another building if we wanted that. Also, there is a new building opening this year and it has a lot more food opportunities.
What to do for fun With the new Student Center opening this year there will be a lot more things to do for fun. More restaurants will be in there as well as a movie theater.
Campus Safety Campus safety is very important and the University police takes that job seriously. They are open 24 hours and they always drive around campus to make sure we are all safe.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences Gardner-Webb University is offers many different degrees and programs. The professors and wonderful and the education received is well worth the money. Gardner-Webb University also has a very welcoming atmosphere.
Tips for prospective students My advice would be to apply for as many scholarships as possible and stay focused from the very beginning. Get engaged in student activities, and study hard!
Academic Rigor The professors and classes are relatively tough, but worth it. With an adequate amount of time set aside for studying, the students will have no problem receiving their education.
Dorm Life Different residence halls offer different atmospheres. Overall, the dorms are nice and well-kept. Gardner-Webb offers a comfortable atmosphere that is as close to home as you can get.
Food and Dining Dining services are decent at Gardner-Webb. There are three or four lines to choose from, and some of the cafeteria staff will cook you whatever you please.
What to do for fun Getting engaged is the best way to enjoy yourself at Gardner-Webb. There are intramural sports teams, bible study groups, a gym, a pond to walk around, etc. Interacting with other students is the best way to have fun!
Bang for the buck Gardner-Webb University is a very expensive school if you don't have adequate funding. However, the education received is well worth it. We have some of the best professors out there, in my opinion.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Tuesday nights is when most students attend The Verge. It is a student-led worship service for anyone who wants to go. Students are not forced to go, but it is very fun and fulfilling!
Great for these types of students Gardner-Webb is a Christian oriented school. Believers and in non-believers of Christ are welcomed with open arms. No judgements are made based on what you believe. There are many bible study groups and youth groups for those who love to serve Christ.
Clubs and Activities There are different clubs and activities students can get involved in such as intramural sports, small groups, bible studies or even just hanging out with your friends, watching a movie in the lobby. There are monthly movie nights on campus where students get together to watch a variety of movies.
Greek Life I am not too familiar with the Greek life on campus, however I do know some people who are involved with it. Gardner-Webb offers different Greek courses.
Campus Safety Being a small, Christian oriented school, not too much happens on campus. However, we do have campus police who are available 24/7 whenever someone needs help. They will unlock your door if you forget your key, and do whatever they can to make you feel safe if you feel that something is wrong.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences this is a really great campus. it's small, but personal, you really get to know the students and professors on a personal level which is really important. it's a close knit community that helps you grow academically and as a person.
Tips for prospective students 1. bring a pair of flip flops and dedicate them as your shower shoes.
2. don't try to be someone else to fit in, people will like you for who you are, not how many times you can say cool story bro
3. don't be a slacker, skipping class and not doing work won't get you anywhere in college, it will just make you look stupid and cost you in the long run.
4. have fun. college is the time of your life, so make it the best that you can.Academic Rigor gardner-webb is a tough school. there are obviously some majors that are harder than others, but we do have a rigorous core. you get a taste of every department and our faculty hold students on a high level. they don't want you to memorize answers, they want you to actually think.
Dorm Life i lived in a dorm for 2 years and i met some of the most amazing people i ever could. we don't have co-ed housing, but we have a great community. res-life does a great job at making people feel welcome and building a sense of community and family among the dorms. we also have visitation hours when the opposite sex can be in your room, but we do not have a curfew. i loved living in the dorms, and i would do it all over again if i could.
Food and Dining more like prison food, but it has it's good days. luckily we are getting a new student center so we will have a food court with more options so the food will be better. we currently only have a cafeteria, simply to go and a chickfila. but next fall with the addition of our student center, there will be a lot more options.
What to do for fun there aren't a ton of things to do in this general area. it's a small town, but you can make your own fun. intramural sports, actual sporting events, and going to the river are three main things that people do around here. also, res-life and student activities host lots of things so there is always something going on. and charlotte and asheville aren't far away, so if you want to do something else you can always travel there.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus we have geese that will attack you, we toilet paper the whole campus the night before our homecoming football game and walking through the arch is bad luck. it means you won't graduate on time.
Great for these types of students anyone really. there is a niche for everyone.
Clubs and Activities there are a lot of academic and ministry clubs on campus, i personally think there could be more, but it really comes down to the fact that other students haven't started them yet. there is great potential, someone just needs to make more.
Greek Life we don't have greek life, if you want a frat party, you should go somewhere else.
Campus Safety other than car break ins, this is an insanely safe campus. we have a full police squad on our campus, they are constantly driving around and they are always here. i have never once felt unsafe, even when walking around by myself at 2 am.

Academic Rigor the academic rigor is straight forward.
Dorm Life from my understand and from what i have seen the dorms are very nice.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot Depending on who you have and what class you have its possible to learn a lot but some of the professors do not push their students as much as others.
Am enjoying being here Gardner-Webb is a lovely school. I do enjoy going there. Everyone is friendly.
Bang for the buck Gardner-Webb is not exactly the best about how they spend your tuition money. Especially since Tuition is so high.
Tips for prospective students Students who are planning on going to Gardner webb should visit before you apply. Its a nice school, but the town is very small and doesn't have a lot to do. The more time you spend can help you make an informed decision.
