    In three sentences

Wabash Valley College is great for students who wish to further their education but don't have the money to attend a traditional university. However, students should exercise caution because most of the professors and faculty are excellent, but a few are too relaxed and do not provide the quality instruction that they should. Wabash Valley College is also a great option for transfer students who want to complete a four-year degree while minimizing costs for the first two years.

    Tips for prospective students

Make sure to apply early for the best chance of receiving scholarships, which may cover part or all of your tuition. Also, make sure to take advantage of the small campus atmosphere and small class sizes by asking the professors for help if you have questions or are struggling with the coursework. All of the instructors here are extremely approachable for students who have questions

    Academic Rigor

The major of the instructors here are of the highest quality and provide instruction that is equivalent to or better than that offered at four-year universities. However, as mentioned previously, make sure to talk to older students about which teachers are good and which ones are just there to earn a paycheck. Do not let this deter you from attending this college, however, since motivated students can definitely receive a top-notch education here.

    Dorm Life

I, like most students attending Wabash Valley College, do not live in the dorms, so I am not qualified to give an opinion on this subject. However, the vast majority of athletes do live in the on-campus dorms, so student athletes coming to the college from out of state should talk to past student athletes about the quality of dorm life at the college.

    Food and Dining

When I first arrived at Wabash Valley College, the food in the on-campus cafeteria was mediocre in quality. However, the cafeteria is now under new ownership, and the food is EXCELLENT!!! It is known as the Red Cafe, and it offers daily breakfast and lunch specials in addition to other staples such as sandwiches and salads. Even though it is more expensive than fast food, it is certainly worth the cost!!!

    What to do for fun

Wabash Valley College is located in the town of Mt. Carmel, IL, which honestly offers very few activities for young people. However, the town does have a bowling alley, and there is an IMAX movie theater located just 12 miles away. The nearest large town, Evansville, IN, is located about an hour away, and it offers a wide variety of restaurants and shopping in addition to a mall. The campus itself offers membership in a handful of clubs and organizations in addition to sponsoring festivals in the fall and spring.

    Bang for the buck

Wabash Valley College is an excellent value for students seeking higher education. The tuition for in-district residents is a mere $74 per credit hour, which is a fraction of the tuition cost at even the cheapest four-year universities. However, make sure to talk to other students and find out which teachers offer the highest quality instruction so that you can get the most bang for your tuition buck.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

Although I would not judge any of these as unusual, Wabash Valley College is known for maintaining several annual traditions. For example, the college always hosts an annual college fair in the fall for prospective students. In addition, current students can enjoy the annual college festivals of Oktoberfest in October and Springfest in March.

Great for these types of students

Wabash Valley College is a great option for students who enjoy the small college environment and wish to obtain a two-year degree in a technical field such as agriculture or radio and television broadcasting. It is also a smart alternative for students who wish to obtain a four-year degree while keeping their overall tuition and housing costs as low as possible.

    Clubs and Activities

Wabash Valley College does offer a few clubs and activities, although the offerings are relatively sparse. Some of the available clubs include Science Club, Business Club, and Diesel Club, all of which are fun and facilitate learning for students majoring in these fields. Phi Theta Kappa membership is also available for students who maintain a 3.5 GPA, which may allow you to receive exclusive scholarships if you transfer to a four-year university after graduation.

    Greek Life

To my knowledge, Wabash Valley College does not actively participate in or offer membership in any fraternities or sororities.

    Campus Safety

Overall, Wabash Valley College is an extremely safe campus. The surrounding town of Mount Carmel has an extremely low crime rate, and the campus itself is staffed with many caring staff members who look out for the safety of the students. In addition, the vast majority of the faculty members at Wabash Valley College are extremely friendly, and students can always ask one of them for help if they feel that they are in danger.
