Categories Rating Comments Am enjoying being here After being on summer break for 2 months, I realized how much I miss the atmosphere of the school. The teachers are always welcoming of questions and try their best to learn who you are in the short period of time you are in their class. Also, the student body,as a whole, are very welcoming and it is an easy place to make friends for anyone.
Bang for the buck This school tends to be on the more expensive side but they do provide their fair share of scholarships to help make the fee more manageable
Tips for prospective students If you are thinking about going to IWU the best advice I can give you is to go on a Monday, Wednesday, or Friday because those are chapel days and that is half of your IWU experience. Also if you are interested in singing at the school you should come to a practice for one of the musics groups. Trust me they will blow you away! My final piece of advice is when you sit in on a class try to avoid the general education classes because they may give you the wrong impression of class size and classes in your intended major are better to experience on a college visit.
Great for these types of students IWU is great for students who are interested in achieving a degree while still furthering their relationship with God. Besides that I'm not sure how else to describe who else its good for since there are such a wide range of people types at the school.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot I have learned very much from my time at IWU. I am a Christian Worship major with an emphasis in Media, which basically means I'm training to become a media leader within the the Church. Many of my classes, especially Media Scriptwriting, Radio Production, Intro. to Worship, and many others have taught me a lot about producing media in the Christian world. Something specific that I've seen with my major and minor over my time here is the importance of communication. Worship as its core is the communication of the story of God to His people. With that same thought, I've learned to be purposeful and intentional in everything that I create, to craft my work so the message of God shines through with clarity and ultimately points back to Him. It's such a God thing I have learned this idea about communication and worship coming together like this.
Am enjoying being here All in all, I do enjoy my time at Indiana Wesleyan. Some days are harder than others. Early classes are hard to wake up for sometimes, but the truth is every class is an opportunity to learn and grow that much more, so I do really love being at Indiana Wesleyan.
Bang for the buck By far, I would say the size of the university and how it opens for one-on-one support by our faculty is the most impressive, bang for the buck idea that Indiana Wesleyan brings to the table. I think having the ability to e-mail a professor with a question, set up a meeting and have coffee, or simply enjoy their company is very valuable. I remember when my advisor, Dr. Constance Cherry, emailed me to have coffee one day last semester. During that time, she simply encouraged me in what I was learning and said she saw so much in me as a student. You can never put a price on moments like that. Never.
Tips for prospective students I would say to never go by the word of mouth of others. Many students will bash the university on its rules or give you horror stories on their experience here. My advice: SEE FOR YOURSELF. If you have a question about our school, don;t be afraid to ask it. If you're planning on coming here, spending the next four years of your life (and all the money) here, know what you're getting into. In short, be curious and ask questions.

Categories Rating Comments Academic Rigor Their professors are so nice and make you feel at home. They make you feel comfortable in the classroom and strive to know every student's name. In the lunch room, one of the professors in line ahead of me asked me my name and what I thought about the campus, which meant a lot to me!
Will enjoy being here They only have chapel three days a week, but they have a stunning campus and very friendly students. They are focused on prayer and Christ, even if their chapel is every other day.
Bang for the buck It's expensive, but they have excellent scholarship opportunities for almost every major available.
Great for these types of students Christians, those who want to go to learn and make friends.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot I learn more new and interesting things every day. It is really cool to gain knowledge in the world with a christian point of view.
Am enjoying being here The community at IWU is fantastic. You feel like a big family. These are TONS of social activities almost to the point of excess but there is definitely no shortage of things to do.
Bang for the buck It isnt the cheapest school out there but it is relatively inexpensive as far as private schools go. There is lot here and the university offers a lot so it is well worth the bigger price tag.
Tips for prospective students My biggest piece of advice would e to VISIT. you will never know if a school is truly right for you unless you get on campus and feel it. Also, make sure that it is really what you are looking for. There are a lot of amazing things here but there are also some sacrifices that you have to make.
Great for these types of students As cliche as it sounds. IWU is right for just about any christian I can think of. We have a wide variety of majors and there are all sorts of activities and groups to be a part of. I will be one hundred percent honest in saying that if you are NOT a believer that attending IWU will be a real eye-opener. If you dont have a relationship with Christ I would encourage you to come and see how He moves through people here everyday and how truly present He is in everything we do.

Categories Rating Comments Am enjoying being here The atmosphere on campus is so welcoming! There is so much to do and I have felt really at home. It is amazing with how much the environment resembles a family!
Bang for the buck Expensive but well worth every penny. You can get a lot of scholarships anyway.
Tips for prospective students Be prepared to work hard and have a lot of fun. Try to make sure you do well at balancing your time.
Great for these types of students This campus is good for any kind of student. the professors are always willing to help and talk. They really care for the individual.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences This is an amazing place. I feel very lucky to be able to study here. My professor' s are very accommodating.
Tips for prospective students Make sure you have everything in order. Apply for your student loans or grants right away. Make sure you do your classes so you get what you want. Sort out your roommate ahead of time.
Dorm Life This is awesome. I have made a band of brothers that will always be there for me. We support each other and help when needed. I couldn't ask for a better dorm then what I am in.
Food and Dining The food here is excellent and cheap. You won't even want to go out for that McDonald's.
What to do for fun We have sports volleyball games against our dorm's. We go to our movie theater. Some of us even like to go to our local bingo parlour. Then we go to our local ice cream shop just to hang out.
Bang for the buck I find this school expensive but they have several options open to help with the cost.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus There is an old church on campus that is just so beautiful. I think even if you are not religious you would find it amazing in many ways.
Great for these types of students This school is great for those that want to attend college and still stay close to the lord.
Clubs and Activities They have loads of clubs and activities to choice from. So I can't see someone being bored here.
Campus Safety Campus safety is dead on with things. We get emails and texts if there is a problem and they watch for that out of the ordinary situation that shouldn't be there. So yes I do feel safe.

Categories Rating Comments Will learn a lot From the friends I have already made on campus after visiting once, I have heard that the classes are VERY good! The teachers are extremely helpful. The classes are hard but they push you to learn more and become your best at the career you want to have. Of course, it also depends on how much effort you put into each class.
Will enjoy being here The first time I visited I made 10 new friends. When I went to register I made 4 new friends. The environment is extremely friendly. There are game rooms and tons of places to hang out. For example: Wildcat, McConn (The coffee shop), the game room, and each of the buildings lounges.
Bang for the buck Since it is a private school it will be a bit more expensive BUT it is one of the cheapest private schools around! Also, IWU is generous with scholarships & loans. There are a ton of on campus jobs for students which can help pay for the tuition also.
Tips for prospective students If you're worried about meeting new people this place will ease your worries. The classes can be hard and stressful but that's all the part of college. Come expecting to have a great time while learning a lot and you will not be disappointed!
Great for these types of students Art, religious, worship, nursing, music, and athletic majors.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot Even though I struggled my first semester of college, I learned more than I ever have before. The class I most struggled in, Anatomy and Physiology, was probably the hardest class I have ever taken, but I learned a lot. Even though I didn't receive the grade I wanted to get, I did learn quite a lot about the material.
Am enjoying being here I love Indiana Wesleyan. Every time I come home for a weekend or a break I see myself missing it more and more. It is a wonderful place to pursue a upper level education. The Christian based environment brings you closer and closer to God and other students every day.
Bang for the buck You definitely get your money's worth here. It is a great institution of learning. I've created memories here that I'll never forget.
Tips for prospective students Don't worry too much. I worry a lot and it really brought me down early on in my first semester of college.
Do your homework ahead of time. It's a lot better do it ahead of time then doing it at three o' clock in the morning!Great for these types of students Indiana Wesleyan University is a great place to pursue a higher level of education. You create relationships with each professor which you won't see at a big public school. The professors are there to help you. I would recommend this to school for anybody to attend. It's a great place to learn and to create relationships with others.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot Both academically and spiritually. The professors tend to put themselves out there to make sure the students are actually learning and understanding what is being taught. And if you are in need of some spiritual advice or guidance, you will find many of the profs willing to listen and help.
Am enjoying being here First off is the friendly atmosphere, from the dorm rooms to the classrooms. In addition, there are plenty of opportunities to have fun with friends, with the many planned social activities on top of simply spending time with others - watching a movie in the campus theater, hanging out at the fountain, playing some racquetball, etc.
Bang for the buck Being a private school, its more on the pricey end, but the quality of education, for both basic and major classes, holds itself up to its cost. As I said before, the professors usually will go the extra mile to help a student learn what he needs to if the student is willing.
Tips for prospective students *Look into as many of the school scholarships and grants as you can. Even though attending is a bit pricey, IWU offers quite a few different scholarships that can help cut tuition down to a more manageable size.
*Make certain that you will be fine with having to attend chapel three times a week. I've seen this ruin what would have otherwise been an o.k. year for some of my friends who didn't like being required to go.
*Don't be afraid to approach your professors for extra help, as most would be more than willing.
*Try to get off campus every once in a while. While it is quite possible to go the whole year without doing so, there are several interesting places to go around Marion, and it will add a little spice to everyday campus life.Great for these types of students *Christian
*Hardworking
*Social
*Those in a spiritual crisis. You will find yourself surrounded by people, both staff and students, who are willing to help see you through.Login to rate or flag the reviews

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot I have only completed a single semester at IWU and I feel that the knowledge I have received, thus far, has been very helpful. However, it has been better in the sense of personal development than professional skills learned. I feel more aware of what I believe, but not necessarily more prepared to enter the job market. I hope that this will change as my academic career here continues.
Am enjoying being here I do enjoy most of my classes and the student services such as food, recreation, and social opportunities are wonderful. However, I really wish there were a greater connection between IWU and the city of Marion. There is virtually no apparent mutual support between the university and the city. This divide is so apparant that there is even slang term for it: the IWU bubble. As far as the campus itself goes though, the faculty and students are, for the most part, very friendly and personable. Also, the weekends are dead. There might be a home sports game or occasional theatrical event but, in genereal, the campus is like a ghost town on weekends.
Bang for the buck As with all private schools, IWU is quite expensive. However, they will do whatever they can to help you find financial aid as long as you are willing to hold up your end of the deal and take the time to fill out your FAFSA and such.
Tips for prospective students 1. Start on a Fall semester. (there are much more new student orientation activities and such)
2. Plan out your entire academic career before starting. (this can save you a lot of headache down the road and, hopefully, keep you from beeing in school longer than expected and thus save you money.
3. Look into church matching scholarships. (IWU will match a scholarship from your church up to $900/year)
4. If you are concerned about finding your place in the IWU community, its probably a good idea to live in a freshman dorm for you 1st year.
5. Financially speaking, it can actually be much cheaper to live off campus with some roommates.
6. PLAN CAREFULLY. Some classes are only offered in certain semesters or even every other year.Great for these types of students 1. Christian. Although you don't have to proffess Christianity to attend IWU, you may have a hard time if you don't - chapel attendance is required.
2. Strong academically. IWU's academics are rigourous, be prepared for lots of homework time.
3. Good writing. Many IWU classes require an unusual amount of writing.
4. Adult. IWU has many satelite campuses and online courses making it convenient for adult/ non-traditional students.Login to rate or flag the reviews

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences Fantastic Campus Atmosphere!
Excellent student-professor relationships with EVERY professor you have a class with.
Practical in terms of administration, Christian focused and non-discriminatory in all ways.Tips for prospective students Take the campus tour! You will attend prospective classes and get a real feel for how well you will fit in. You will have the opportunity to meet students and professors, as well as trying out all facilities.
Academic Rigor Writing skills are heavily emphasized in all classes. If you do not like writing, this is not the place for you. If you want to enter the workforce well equipped with verbal and written communication skills that are key for advancement in any field- this is your school! Classes are challenging with a great deal of individual attention available. All classes begin with a prayer. Realize this when making your decision about what kind of atmosphere you want to be educated in. There are extensive tutorial and workshop resources available for all classes.
Dorm Life I live off campus, so I do not have direct experience. From what I hear, dorms are clean, safe and gender segregated. You will have ample privacy when you need it. Resident assistants are extremely supportive and attentive to student needs. The campus in general is terrifically clean and conveniently laid out.
Food and Dining Centralized cafeteria with seemingly unlimited food choices every day! There are even cook your own, cook to order and gluten free areas. The food is always fresh, healthy and appetizing. I love that everyone eats in one central place, located in the middle of the Student Center. The cafeteria is separated into one large seating area, and several small, restaurant like areas that can be closed off for meetings or reserved as a study area. I love it! Additionally, there is a food court and several small food establishments throughout the Student Center. A campus favorite hangout is McConns, a large. open air. Starbucks-like coffee shop with a few bakery items always fresh and available. There is even a big fireplace and lots of cushy seating available all year round.
What to do for fun Plenty of recreational facilities, considering the smaller size of the school. The gym building includes a pool and rock -climbing wall,, racquetball and tennis courts along with a running track and complete work-out facility with all the latest exercise machines. A club football team is currently in the works. There are plenty of green-space areas and outdoor track and field facilities to accommodate whatever your sporting passion is. Nearby Marion has a roller-skating rink, parks, stables and just about any activity you can think of. As a bonus, the campus is located about half-way between Indianapolis and Ft.Wayne- an hour either north or south. Those cities are endless in activites and organizations. Marion offers plenty of opportunities for civic volunteerism as well, which is strongly encouraged-and often required in classes- at IWU.
Bang for the buck If you are looking for a friendly, safe, clean and wholesome Christian education, this is the place for you! Having attended many other types and sizes of colleges over the years, I have never felt more warmly welcomed and emotionally supported as I do here. All the facilities of a large state university with the personal attention only a smaller school can provide. An excellent place for older students returning to school (such as myself), and a wonderfully supportive, grow-in-your-faith school for the younger set. One caveat however, being a Christian university, one must be ready to accept a few ethical expectations, and behavioral regulations. If you are looking to be a big partier, this is NOT the school for you! The campus is dry- for students and staff.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus McConns coffee gathering. The most fabulous on-campus coffee shop I have ever seen! Super place to study, meet professors on a casual basis (which is very common at Wesleyan) , or just to chill out between classes.
Traditions: Highly restrictive regulations compared to a state school. No alcohol on this campus. Only approved R rated movies allowed to be viewed on campus- including in your dorm! Restrictions do add to the ability to affectively focus on studies and to safely interact socially however. This is not to say it's not a fun school- it is! Many comedy shows like JK (just kidding) and FNL (Friday Night Live) all year round. Plenty of visiting dignitaries and fabulous speakers on a regular basis. The Student Center has a Movie Theater (the Globe Theater) right in the middle of it!Great for these types of students Students that want a Christian-based education with a global studies emphasis. Every department incorporates cross-cultural and global studies on some level.
Returning adult students: We might be the minority of traditional students (there is a whole other adult-studies program that is great!) the atmosphere here is just beyond therapeutic, supportive and family-friendly. I love it! Instructors treat adult students with a great deal of respect and appreciation that is rare anywhere outside of a small community college.Clubs and Activities As many as you might be able to imagine. Student created organizations and business are strongly encouraged. Way more international and global -outlook organizations and activities than anywhere else I have visited or heard of.
Greek Life Minor. The Greek organizations are mostly honors or department/ major based. There are no Greek houses or suites.
Campus Safety Excellent! Phones in every building that will connect you with someone that will come and escort you anytime you are alone and want a walking partner. Campus is so clean, well lit and maintained, as well as being clutter-free that not much could go on unseen. The layout of campus is airy, yet logical and small enough that it does not take more than 5 minutes to get anywhere.

Am enjoying being here i enjoy being at this campus mainly because of what i can accomplish here, how well the teachers and involved in students lives, and also how well and exciting the professors bring new material to the class.
Bang for the buck being at this school has been a stress. i dont have the money to pay for anything. i have no family support and no one that would even consider helping me. as much as i want to be apart of this campus, money problems may be the reason my education might end at this university.
Tips for prospective students be prepared for the unexpected.

Am enjoying being here The environment is great! Everyone is so friendly and they are so open about welcoming you. Doors are always being open for you and you can always catch people smiling.
Bang for the buck I do not really understand what this means. But it is an expensive school but the finical aid package they give is great.
Tips for prospective students Go for a college visit either on Monday, Wednesday, or Friday because that is when chapel is on. You are required to go, so checking out chapel is a great way to get a vibe from the campus.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences It's a great school with great programs. There isn't much to do at night and on weekends here so you basically have to make your on fun. The school is definitely a great place for growth in every aspect; socially, spiritually, and academically.
Tips for prospective students Come in with an open mind ready to learn and grow. Its not your typical college, but it's still a great school and you should consider it.
Academic Rigor Here you absolutely have to study. This school's programs, while great, they are very rigorous and it's easy to slip up so you really have to stay on top of things.
Dorm Life Dorms are nice and roomy. There are many living options and upperclassmen have the option of living in the tohos or lodges which are like apartments basically and there is no extra cost. The dorms typically form bonds between their units and the dorms put on many fun activities throughout the year.
Food and Dining Food is pretty decent. There are many options.
What to do for fun You make your own fun for the most part. Occasionally there might be a dance or fun event going on, but it's not often.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Rebash is a tradition at IWU, which is a big new year's party that we celebrate on the first Friday of the spring semester. Its a formal event so you get to come decked in your finest black and white. It's a great and fun way to end the 1st week of the new semester.
Greek Life There is none
Campus Safety Pretty safe, a little more safe than usual actually.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences Indiana Wesleyan University is a university that fosters learning in a Christ-centered community. Students here are surrounded by faculty and staff who are committed to seeing them do well. My favorite part about the university is the tight-knit community that I have experienced.
Tips for prospective students Visit the school before you enroll. One of the best ways to experience life on campus is by visiting, staying with a current student, sitting in on a class, and attending chapel.
Dorm Life We are so spoiled. Almost all of our dorms are on the newer-side, and we have great options for everyone from all-freshman dorms to townhouses for upperclassman.
Food and Dining Once again, we are spoiled. We have a variety of different dining experiences, we just added a chick-fil-a!
What to do for fun Movie theatre on campus, McConn coffee shop, Indianapolis is an hour away.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences indiana wesleyan is an amazing university. the campus is christ centered and you can see that through the other students. i don't have one bad thing to say about iwu.
Tips for prospective students don't be afraid to be your self. let who you are shine, be confident in yourself. people admire that and are drawn to people who walk with their head held high.
Academic Rigor i'm a nursing major, and it's no fun and games. you have to work hard to earn your grades.
Dorm Life i was blessed with a great floor. all of us girls connect very well and we are like a big family. i have herd similar things from other people. it will be how you make it. if you want to be close with your floor. you have to make the effort. it's not going to just happen.
Food and Dining the food is pretty good. we are defiantly blessed with good food. i would say our food is better than most schools. of course you are going to have your people that complain about everything, but i say we are blessed with the quality of food we have.
What to do for fun iwu has a recreation and wellness center. it has a pool, a rock wall, racket ball and wally ball courts, and gyms that you can basketball and things like that in. also we have a nice student center where people like to go and hang out in. we have a really good coffee shop. we multiple sand volleyball areas that are fun in the summer. also there is an ultimate frisbee game always going on somewhere. you will see random things going on outside that students decide to do when they are bored. you would be surprised at what some people do.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus we have a prayer chapel that is open everyday until midnight. people go there who just need to take a break and talk to god and want a quiet place to do that.
Campus Safety there is always campus police on duty. you will see phones hanging on the walls that say don't walk alone. so lets say you go to the rec at 10 and its dark outside you can get an escort from them back to your dorm if you don't want to walk alone.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences indiana wesleyan university is telling the truth when they say they're centered around god. this campus is a wonderful place to connect with other christians, to learn from each other and from brilliant professors who really care, and to grow together into a community who spreads christ's love across the world. iwu won't let you down, that's for sure!
Tips for prospective students come expecting to be involved. there are so many different activities to help you meet new people, and they're all so much fun! it can be extremely difficult to transition from high school to college life, but getting involved and excited about the process can help make that transition easier.
Academic Rigor classes are tough, and with a shorter semester than most other colleges in the u.s., the workload is heavier, too. if you pay attention, take good notes, study, and do all your work, you'll find you're getting your money's worth from every class you take. you have such a great opportunity to learn here; it's up to you to accept the challenge!
Dorm Life the dorms here have such a great sense of community. with weekly unit dinners, brother-sister dorms such as hodson and evans, and monthly events within units as well as dorms, there's never a shortage of activities to attend. once you meet the other students living in your dorm, you'll begin to form your own college family, and really build friendships that will last.
Food and Dining baldwin, the cafeteria, has so many options for dining: main line, rotisserie, baked potato/nacho bar, salad bar, pasta, pizza, breakfast bar, and more! if you get tired of baldwin, though, wildcat has even more options, serving chinese, chick-fil-a, mexican, pizza, deli, and even frozen yogurt. the food really is top-notch, especially compared to a lot of other colleges, and with so many options, it's hard to go wrong.
What to do for fun the game room is a fun place to spend time, whether playing pool, ping-pong, video games, air hockey, or an old-fashioned board game. mcconn, the campus coffee shop, is a great place to hang out and study, especially during the winter, when the fireplaces are ablaze. the commons provide a great atmosphere for studying or relaxing with friends, and the piazza is a terrific place to hang out as well. there are several plays performed each semester, and with cheap ticket prices and terrific acting, they're worth attending. the globe theatre in the mallway shows fun movies on the weekends sometimes, and their prices definitely can't be beat! when it's warm outside, students play campus golf with tennis balls. no matter the weather or time of day, it's easy to find something to do on iwu's campus for fun.
Bang for the buck iwu is a little pricey, but it's worth your money. the academic and spiritual growth you will undergo is unbelievable. god is moving here on campus, and it's something you don't want to miss!
Clubs and Activities there are many different clubs which you can be a part of. if there's not a club that suits your tastes, start your own! it's a fairly simple process--in fact, one of my friends did so this year, and she loves it! there are clubs celebrating a love of languages, cultures, and interests, as well as many other clubs tailored to the unique tastes of students here at iwu. there really is something for everyone.
Campus Safety campus police are very effective and genuinely care about students here at iwu. they are working hard 24/7 to keep us safe.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences i am an online student, and am very impressed with iwu's online degree programming. i find it far more challenging, engaging, and rewarding that i ever would have imagined an online program could be! although i am missing out on the on-campus experiences, as an adult learner ans at-home mom, the virtual classroom option is a much better trade-off and not at all a compromise to my education.
Tips for prospective students even for online students, it's still important to visit with an adviser in person and go over your degree audit, financial options, and school philosophy to make sure it is a good match for you. don't underestimate the value of your education in a christian environment and the relationship with your school just because you're learning online. it is still a fantastic opportunity to fulfill your dreams of a 4 year degree in a faith-filled community, and you don't want to miss out meeting the people that are ready to walk with you on your journey!
Academic Rigor i have found every course challenging and exciting, and always finish a class wanting more. in a state of outstanding universities, i definitely feel i am getting a top quality education, and am proud to say i am earning my degree at iwu.
Dorm Life i can't speak to this - i do not live on campus - so i rated it average.
Food and Dining i don't know about marion, but the ft wayne area has great food and dining for every taste and budget.
What to do for fun i live in a rural town outside of ft wayne, so i don't know much about the entertainment there, but i know there are mad ants basketball, komets hockey, and jefferson pointe offers shopping and movies.
