    Academic Rigor

in every class that i have attended thus far, i have learned something new. each teacher does his/her best to encompass and utilize each of the different learning styles in his/her classroom and connect the subject to other classes.

    Am enjoying being here

The campus is beautiful and spacious. More importantly however, is that the people are kind. Everybody is extremely friendly and helps one another out. As far as I know there is no drama in the dorms, but if there is, you always have someone who will lend a listening ear and a helping hand. The teachers go out of their way to make sure that you are doing well both academically and wherever else you might need assistance.

    Bang for the buck

johnson bible college is the cheapest private college in tennessee. however, just because the price is lower, the standards for education are not. the classes are great, the dorm rooms are spacious and the food is scrumptious.

    Tips for prospective students

try and be sociable the first two months of college, even if it pushes you out of your comfort zone. be sure to fill out all of your paperwork and work study application documents before you arrive on campus. it makes life a lot easier once you are there and it provides more assurance that you will have a job on campus.

Great for these types of students

johnson bible college is a great school for those who like smaller classrooms, one on one time with the teachers, and a place where almost every face is familiar. also, johnson bible college does a spectacular job with its preaching program, so if preaching is your call for the future, johnson bible college is the place for you.

    Am learning a lot

The professors are extremely nice and will help you out, no problem!

    Am enjoying being here

The whole atmosphere of the college is just wonderful. The buildings have all the same architectural details but the brick and white pillars are just very romantic. It is a beautiful college, we won an award for it!

    Bang for the buck

The college is great for me because I happen to be an international student. They supply an awesome scholarship for us and also there is a presidents scholarship that can be given to anyone. The college is definitely cost affordable.

    Tips for prospective students

Yes this college is a Bible college, but it also has a music program and teacher education program, of which I am enrolled in. The dorm life is awesome, separate dorm buildings of course.

Great for these types of students

It is great for those who are looking to become a preacher. I know many who have graduated from Johnson and are fine preachers.

    Am learning a lot

The classes are interesting and though they teach a lot, they still provide room for your own ideals and beliefs. The lectures are always full of information that is not only nice to know for the tests and quizzes, but very good for learning how to put class curriculum into real world ministry, or give you ideas for teaching or sermons.

    Am enjoying being here

The campus is beautiful year round, the people are all very nice and sociable. It really feels like the student body is a giant family; though everyone has a close center of friends, everyone is open to everyone and you really never feel alone. The teachers are personable and easy to talk to as well. Very nice.

    Bang for the buck

For the quality of living and classes given, the University should charge much more than it does, but because it continues to receive ample amounts of money from generous alumni and University friends they are able to keep the prices quite low. And if a student is having a hard time paying they work with you to afford it.

    Tips for prospective students

Just be sure to be open. You may not be a very sociable person, but be open enough to let people approach you and you'll find yourself surrounded by people who love you and are there to support you. Also, though the teachers are very nice and understanding they do give a nice amount of homework. As long as you keep up with the work they give you and find help when you're struggling you'll be all good!

Great for these types of students

Great for students who want to dedicate their lives to the ministry of God. The preaching major is the focus of the school, but all the other areas are amazing and top of the line. It's a smaller campus that's at least 15 minutes away from everything, but the view is spectacular and the campus immaculate. As long as you don't mind knowing almost everyone on campus and a reasonable work load, this school is a great match for you!

Johnson in an incredible school that offers an loving and encouraging environment. The small size allows for great relationships with both teachers and students. The campus is beautiful, and that makes it even more wonderful to be at.

    Tips for prospective students

Make sure as a prospective student you mentally prepare for a willing and able work ethic. The teachers are great, but they are not simple courses.

    Academic Rigor

The classes are challenging. However, the grading scale can be frustrating, but they only want their students to aim high!

    Dorm Life

Dorm life it wonderful, students really get to know each other. The rooms are spacious with a personal bathroom and closet. Clean and neatly organized rooming arrangements also.

    Food and Dining

Food is okay. The only thing bad is that there are specific times of the day that the cafeteria is open.

    What to do for fun

Johnson is located in the mountains of Tennessee, so there is a lot to do! A lot of students spend time in the mountains hiking and in the water.

    Bang for the buck

Academics are wonderful. Rooming is great. Overall a great price.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

The campus and school in itself is small, so there are many traditions that take place over the year.

Great for these types of students

This campus is great for friendly people!

    Clubs and Activities

Many different clubs and activities are offered.

    Greek Life

    No drinking school.

    Campus Safety

    Campus security is great.

A really fantastic place, and a great experience for me.

    Tips for prospective students

Take advantage of all the help and guidance that are offered, and make friends with staff and professors. People at Johnson really care about students and are really willing to go the extra mile to help you out! Also, there is tutoring and counseling available, both, I believe, for free. Don't fail a class because you skipped too many days or decided not to write a paper. If you are homesick, having problems with your roommate, or have things in your past you need to address, go to the counseling center. There's a whole army of people eager to make sure you succeed.

    Academic Rigor

Johnson had many difficult classes, and a few easy ones. Like all colleges (I suppose), there were some required blow-off classes that I found annoying, but I have to admit that even in those I learned some things and had a good time. The academic standards are excellent, particularly in the areas of Bible,Teacher Education, and missions/international work.

    Dorm Life

The dorms are great, spacious, clean, and light. My one complaint was the tiny kitchens- the size of a closet, and one to a whole floor! I loved having a bathroom in the room, and only one roommate. RAs are generally very helpful, and a lot of effort is made to include and invite everyone in hall activities.

    Food and Dining

The cafeteria has a lot of options, and works hard at mixing it up so you don't get bored. My one complaint was the lack of healthy food. I know fresh, unprocessed food is difficult to provide in a cafeteria, so A for effort, but still not quite what I would wish for. Who knows, maybe they try and none of the kids will eat it!

    What to do for fun

Smokey Mountain National Park, Dollywood, dollar theater, downtown, Greek Festival, Indian food.

    Bang for the buck

The best. Period. The tutition is low, there are tons of scholarships available, and the quality of education is high. I don't know of another place like it.

Great for these types of students

Those who like a personal touch.
