Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot There are bad teachers but there are more good ones. Just look on ratemyprofessor.com or pic a prof. I have gotten all As and Bs in my classes and I'm a junior. Lots of effort is required!!! My teachers this semester are really funny but brilliant!
Am enjoying being here Kennesaw is like a huge family. We all will help you with anything you need help with. They have centers for writing, math, science, adult learning, and international students. The people here are really nice and most are respectful.
Bang for the buck Definitely yes!!! The campus is beautiful. The housing is wonderful on and off campus depending on where you live you can have your own bedroom and bathroom (I recommend University Village) and the cafeteria is great! They have fast food, Chinese, southern, Italian, cultural, salads, steak, and its buffet style.
Tips for prospective students Go to your professors and talk to them. let them know that you really want to succeed in class. They will try their hardest to make sure you do. Carry a planner or keep a calendar in your room or do both like me because there are so many things you must do each week!! Time management is the key!! Make time for yourself too!!

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot There are some excellent professors here who are experts in their field. The difference between KSU and some other large universities is that most of the professors here truly do love to teach and it is evident in their classes. In some of the general education courses the class sizes can be as large as 200, but in most classes there will be about 35 students, which means you'll get one-on-one time with your professors. Some notable professors here have included Congressman/presidential candidate Bob Barr and Georgia radio legend Rhubarb Jones.
Am enjoying being here KSU is rapidly growing and constantly changing - it's an exciting time to be an Owl! The dining hall, The Commons, was added in fall 2009 and a new soccer stadium (where the Atlanta Beat soccer team plays) opened in May 2010. A football team is expected in 2014. The dorms are great because you get your own bedroom regardless of which of the four communities you live in.
Bang for the buck Living on campus will likely be more expensive than getting an apartment or renting a room in a house, but otherwise, KSU is a good deal, especially if you are a HOPE scholar. The fees are comparable to other schools in the University System of Georgia.
Tips for prospective students The best tip is to get involved! College is what you make it, and KSU has several opportunities, including an active Greek life, a variety of performance groups (a storytelling troupe, an improv society, multiple plays), and an excellent student media program (The Sentinel newspaper, Owl Radio, Share Art & Literary Magazine, Talon Magazine, New Media Group). I also recommend taking advantage of the free group exercise classes offered in the Wellness Center.
Great for these types of students KSU is a great school for anyone, but the Coles College of Business is especially revered, as is the Wellstar School of Nursing (which has a brand new building).

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot The classes here are not overwhelming, but they are challenging and fun. The teachers I have had are very good and I understand the material.
Am enjoying being here The social life in Kennesaw is so friendly. Everyone has a place where they can feel wanted and are invited to. There are a lot of Christian groups around campus that would love to help anyone make friends. There are also several nice sororities and fraternities to join.
Bang for the buck The school has a relatively low tuition cost and great pricing for dorms. These dorms can be on the cheap side or on the expensive side. Even the cheap ones, I live in the cheapest dorms, are amazing. They are just like an apartment. The cost for books is great too because i paid less than $500 for this semesters books, and i should get most of it back at the end of the semester.
Tips for prospective students The best thing to do would be to live on campus and get the unlimited meal plan. This makes everything very easy for a freshmen, plus it saves a lot of money. Also, it'd be great to bring a bike. It is a rather large campus.
Great for these types of students I have three roommates and all four of us range from majors like art to biochemistry to young childhood education. All types of students fit in great here. There is a good bit of homework, but it's mostly online with help on the problems. So it's not too terribly bad.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot I love KSU! Most of the professors I have had were really great but not everything is perfect, there can be professors that are challenging. I have learned not to procrastinate and be a well rounded student through this school. High school and college are two different ball games. If you use ratemyprofessor.com the reviews will help you along the way in making your decision on which class to take. The professors here really like to teach and even though you are in a class of 200 they really try to listen. This semester one of my professors read every email and replied even in a class of 300 students right away, he actually cared that I cared to get a good grade.
Am enjoying being here I thought my life was over when I did not have enough money to go to the out of state school I got accepted into and had to go to Kennesaw, BUT I am eating my words up. I love it here. The atmosphere is amazing. Everyone is super friendly. I have met a lot of people and grown in my social horizon. At KSU there are a lot of thing you can do around campus, there is always some kind of event going on. There is also a lot of volunteer opportunities here as well. KSU even has sororities and fraternities!!
Bang for the buck Because Kennesaw is not as popular as UGA or GA TECH, the tuition and extra expenses are not as expensive. Which is what I appreciated more as my first year at KSU came to a close. I am really glad I did not spend the extra 3000(just a guess) dollars to go out of state. Going to Kennesaw saved my family and myself a lot of money.
Tips for prospective students Tips:
1. DO NOT PROCRASTINATE!
2. TRY TO JOIN A CLUB OR VOLUNTEER!
3. GO TO CLASS
4. PICK A MAJOR YOU WILL ENJOY
5. ENJOY COLLEGE BECAUSE IT IS THE BEST 4 YEARS OF YOUR LIFE:)Great for these types of students -Great for students that love to be active and have fun with campus clubs or activities.
-Someone who is open to the whole college experience.
-A students who does not mind to be hands on and self seeking.
- A student who likes a fast growing community, because KSU grows day by day to improve for their students.
-And also someone with OWL PRIDE!Login to rate or flag the reviews

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot The courses I have studied here are rigorous and numerous. General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Calculus I, II, and III, and Criminal Procedure are a few of the most challenging classes I have taken. However, the professors and fellow peers at Kennesaw are more than willing to do anything they can to help the students learn and succeed. I have enjoyed my coursework, in spite of it's difficulty, and I have learned very much from the classes and professors I have had.
Am enjoying being here I have enjoyed Kennesaw State University very much. It is a smaller school, with a nice community feel. I am, however, ready for something bigger and better. Although this school is greatly enjoyable, I am personally yearning to be part of a school with more people, more opportunities, and more entertainment. The main issue I have with KSU is the lack of majors. Since the school is still growing, many programs are not offered, and I cannot pursue my intended major of Mechanical Engineering. So, I will be moving on soon, but have enjoyed my time here very much.
Bang for the buck Tuition cost is, by far, the best thing about Kennesaw State University. The low In-state tuition has allowed me to take my core classes at a very acceptable and reasonable price. The campus is beautiful and the new dining hall is very deserving of appraisal. The services on campus are excellent for the cost of attending, and the price is perfect for the quality of education received. I'm sure we will see tuition costs rise dramatically very soon, as the introduction of a football team in 2014 will be spark some increased interest in this tuition state-wide, and possibly even nation-wide.
Tips for prospective students Get campus housing, if you can afford it, or if you need housing to begin with. Commuting is wild and unorganized, and traffic and parking can be impossible to handle at times.
Great for these types of students Nursing majors, or potential medical degree-seekers. The Chemistry and Criminal justice departments are also very good.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot All my professors have different approaches, so the learning styles are very diverse. They all want their students to be successful and move forward, you just have to make an effort on your part. There are many different courses and each teaches valuable information. The courses are not a waste of time or money from what I have experienced so far. There is a lot of reading, but the books chosen are timeless.
Am enjoying being here Since I am a freshman, I am still getting use to making all new friends and associating with many different people. It is like being the new kid in school, but to aid with this change there are many social events on campus. The professors and students seem nice and helpful. The campus is gorgeous (check out The Green)! My first experience living in a dorm is great! The housing is new and spacious. Also all my classes are pretty close to each other. so no cross country walks to class.
Bang for the buck The beautiful campus, the updated classrooms, and the new housing speak for themselves.
Tips for prospective students Come ready to work hard and get involved. This will make the time spent here successful and worthwhile.
Great for these types of students If you are a dedicated student and a social butterfly, this is the school for you. Or a person that is shy, but open minded and ready to try new things then this could also be the place for you. College is about finding oneself, doing new things, and meeting new people. KSU does not stray from that path.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot The classes are just the perfect amount of challenging and if you get a little lost, ask your teacher. The teachers here want to help and want you to succeed just as much as you do.
Am enjoying being here The campus is beautiful, the students are very friendly, the teachers and staff are very helpful. This school is a great choice for anyone. We are even getting a football team soon. This school has practically all the attributes of the large colleges but the campus is still small which is perfect!
Bang for the buck The dorms here are amazing compared to many of the other colleges that I have seen. You get in free to any sporting event that is held at home. The campus is absolutely beautiful and the maintenance crew does an awesome job at keeping everything clean and safe.
Tips for prospective students One major tip is to get involved! Join a club, do a sport, something, anything! This is one great way to make connections as well as friends.
Great for these types of students It's great for anyone really. Kennesaw is for the introvert and extrovert, for the class clown and the the top of the class. If go here I promise you won't be disappointed.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot Every teacher has a different perspective. They will definitely introduce you to an alternate way of viewing the topic. They will encourage you to form opinions and make sure you can have an intelligent conversation about whatever you are learning.
Am enjoying being here There is always something happening on campus. Especially if you are living in the dorms. Going to the events lets you meet new people and have a good time. Most events always have free food and prizes. It's a great way to get a break from the books and let loose for a while.
Bang for the buck KSU seems to have a million and one things to do. From exercise, to outdoor groups, to sororities and fraternities, to gospel choir. If you like to dress-up in medieval wear and role play, guess what? There is an entire unofficial club dedicated to just that. No matter what you like to do, you can find it at KSU.
The food is pretty awesome. There's hot dogs and hamburgers, Chinese food, alfredo and spaghetti, biscuits, greens, and BBQ pork, naan and curry, tacos and spanish rice, a full length sandwich and salad bar, and a huge dessert and coffee island I only allow myself to visit once a week. And that's just dinner. Breakfast and lunch follow in a similar pattern. For upwards of $250 a semester, you're getting your moneys worth.Tips for prospective students Do everything early. Go to orientation early, sign up for classes early, show up to class early, and ask, EARLY. Waiting until the last minute has never been a good idea, but it is even worse here. There are so many kids wanting exactly what you do and if you wait, you can guarantee it will be gone.
Go for what you want and remember what you've learned. This is your life and no matter how badly your parents want you to be a heart surgeon, you can't control how you grow weak in the knees at the mention of a scalpel. You have to learn what you want and go for it. There are so many programs at KSU and you are guaranteed to find your niche.
Also, we've all heard the horror stories of the girl/boy that goes to college and comes home a drunk, a drug addict, a drop out, or a parent. Cliche as it is, it's true. Don't forget some of the lessons your parents taught you. It's for your good.Great for these types of students Self seeking, hands on, kinesthetic learners. While KSU is accommodating of every type of student, as a freshman I've found that the professors encourage you to find the answers on your own. They want you to really get into the material and practice it. Yes there are lectures, but there is also a lot of discussion and hands on learning.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot There are good teachers and bad. Study hard it helps you make good grades! Don't take a class your not interested in early unless you are a morning person.
Am enjoying being here There are tons of things to do on campus and around the community so I encourage you to get involved. And volunteer. And go to anything were there is something posted. You will enjoy it.
Bang for the buck Its at a very decent price for the money. It's the third largest school in GA so you will not see the same people everyday, but it's not overly huge. Seriously take a tour!
Tips for prospective students Keep your grades up and review clubs that you may be interested in before you get here. Try and live on campus.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences Kennesaw State Univeristy is a major commuter school and I do live at home and commute. It is very accommodating to students and is a great school to start out or even go to for four years. Overall, I would give Kennesaw State a 7 out of 10.
Tips for prospective students See if you can apply for on-campus residence. There are plenty of activities to partake in on campus and being a campus resident makes it easier to attend events. Also, be sure to prepare yourself for registration, as it is a step up from registering for high school classes. You will be doing most of that on your own. Their club football team is just starting up, so be sure to support them!
Academic Rigor Kennesaw provides a challenging, yet helpful academic curriculum. There are plenty of professors to choose from, many of which enjoy what they do. Finding an on-campus tutor is not difficult, and most of them are free!
Dorm Life I do not live on campus, but from what I see when I hang out with my friends, the dorm life can be somewhat exciting. If you can have fun responsibly and get together with friends, it is easy to make the most of your campus residence life.
Food and Dining The Commons is the main dining hall at Kennesaw State University and was recently voted in the Top 25 by Newsweek for Best College Dining. There is a variety of different, succulent foods that will keep you full for most of the day!
What to do for fun Go to the club hockey games! Kennesaw State has one of the top club hockey teams in the nation. The basketball team is recently rising on the D-1A level, so go out and support the Owls!
Bang for the buck For a quality education, tuition is not much, around $6000 a year (thats not living on campus, meal plan, etc.)
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Recently, Kennesaw State broke the world record for Largest Human Peace Sign in the Guinness Book of World Records.
Great for these types of students Commuters and athletes
Clubs and Activities I am a part of the Army ROTC program at KSU. We are an extension school from Georgia Tech, but do most of our activities on our own. The program is challenging, but provides a great outlook for a military career.
Greek Life I am not part of Greek Life, but from common observation I would give it 2 out of 5 stars. There are no fraternity or sorority houses and I would say less than half the campus is involved in Greek Life.
Campus Safety There are always campus police cars going around the school, watching for speedy cars and suspicious activity. Crosswalks are always being attended to on busy class days through the week.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences kennesaw state university is a wonderful university that offers students a wide range of majors and activities. this university is growing fast and adding many new exciting programs and majors including their first football team in the near future. if enrolled you'll enjoy the experience, just make sure you arrive early in the morning to get a parking spot so you'll make it to class on time!
Tips for prospective students the campus is very large. make sure that when you register for classes that you give yourself enough time between classes to eat a snack and grab a drink to keep your mind alert and focused. there is a beautiful area right in the middle of campus called the campus green where students relax, play football, or have a nice jog early in the morning or evening. as mentioned earlier, parking is a rarity. make sure you arrive early if you can.
Academic Rigor every school has a set of general education courses that can be fairly easy if you focus, but beware as they may be difficult if you slack off from viewing them as unimportant. classes at ksu will be difficult as you ascend into your majors but the rewards from what you learn as you apply yourself will be well worth it.
Dorm Life i haven't lived on campus, but from what i have heard and seen have been nothing but good news. the dorms look really great and they are right on campus which means hardly a walk to class. there are also a large number of dorms being built this year so look forward to that soon. just keep in mind that convenience equals higher cost of living.
Food and Dining ksu has a brand new dining hall which provides students with an all you can eat and drink option on campus. the meals they provide can vary from absolutely delicious to questionably inventive. breakfasts are always my favorites at the dining hall. in order to maintain the building, students are required to pay for a specific number of meals (or swipes) depending on what year they are in. this will be very costly at first for freshmen, but they will find that having an unlimited amount of food their first year to be very helpful, especially since they can swipe in and stay in the facility all day to study and eat as much as they like. the other food options include a chic-fil-a, bagel shop, coffee shop, and a few other food shops.
What to do for fun as with most colleges there are lots and lots of fraternities, sororities, and clubs to join and attend. these organizations often throw events each week of every semester so there rarely is ever a dull week on campus. along with the organizations there is always ksu sports teams that have seasonal games that play at home and abroad that students can attend and raise team spirit. everyone is greatly looking forward to ksu's football team in the upcoming years.
Bang for the buck the classes offered and the professors who teach are actually really great. i've had some wonderful professors who helped me tremendously and inspired me to choose the major i wanted. needless to say, with all the growth on campus with new dorms, new dining halls, and new football teams, student fees alone can be very harsh. but personally the experiences that i have had have outweighed the cost.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus i wouldn't say that they are unusual locations, but there are quite a few well known locations on campus. campus green, as mentioned earlier, is a large oval plot of grassy field with a sidewalk around it. many activities are done here. another location is the leaning man in the carmichael student center rotunda. he's a pretty weird guy just leaning there. there is a location right outside the social science building where a large number of smokers gather to hang out. it's great if you are a smoker but hold your breath otherwise! another hangout is within the carmichael student center on the first floor where a large number of computer and video game players set up their systems and tv's and play games together every day, almost all day.
Great for these types of students almost everyone in georgia knows that ksu's nursing programs is one of the most well known in the state. a brand new building was built for nursing that makes you feel like you are learning in a real hospital. the science department is getting a new building as well which i am personally very excited about it. many business majors that i know say that ksu has a very strong business program to offer.
Campus Safety campus safety is very strict. there are many police officers on campus at all times ready to help if anything happens. this also includes speeding tickets so beware! but if there are any problems there are emergency stations all around campus. no need to fear!

Categories Rating Comments Will learn a lot I will learn about KSU when I attend the walking tour they have in July. They also have a session set up for adult learners in August before school starts.
Will enjoy being here I will participate in the adult learner programs they have at KSU. I have been corresponding back with one of their representatives who was very knowledgeable about the process of starting college later in life. She put me in contact with great resources to help with college testing and helped with the admissions process.
Bang for the buck I compared KSU to another college and they came out with the best tuition overall, even with fees and books. It is about 40 minutes from my home/work, so that will work out on my gas expenses.
Tips for prospective students Research and compare 3 schools that you are looking to attend. What has the program that will benefit you and your career aspirations. Estimate what your cost will be and when you put the numbers on paper that will help you decide what is the best college for you. You may want to consider going to a community college then transferring in to a 4 year college.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot I feel like the teachers at KSU are very helpful, as long as you are respectful. I am succeeding in all of my classes thus far and plan to continue doing so.
Am enjoying being here I really enjoy the campus. It is really beautiful! I also enjoy the community. I've found that tons of the other students are super friendly and helpful, as long as you ask politely.
Bang for the buck I feel that the price of KSU is reasonable. It is affordable, especially if you have the HOPE scholarship. But even if you don't, it isn't too bad. :)

Categories Rating Comments Did learn a lot Didn't learn anything I didn't already know. Felt like more high school.
Did enjoy being here The school is big but if feels small at the same time... The campus is wide, but there's little to do. Maybe it's because I was a commuter.
Bang for the buck Apply to Tech if you're a Georgia native!
Tips for prospective students If you want a degree for the sake of having a degree, this is probably the school for you. They'll keep you out of higher level classes, even if the lower levels are slower. Get in a bunch of clubs if you can, it might make the experience a bit better.
From what I understand, cafeteria food is supposed to be horrible after a while so don't worry about it.Great for these types of students Kids who don't want to do too much for their degree. At least Business students, I'm not sure about other majors.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot The general education courses are definitely not as intense as schools like Georgia Tech. As long as you go to the classes and take notes, it is rather simple to make straight A's in every gen. ed. course.
My major specific courses are, of course, more intense yet still easy enough to make straight A's if you pay attention and study. If you're interested in learning as much as you can, it is possible to do at Kennesaw! You just have to discipline yourself to the studies instead of just doing enough to get by.
My major specific college within Kennesaw is definitely the best I could attend in Georgia. I have been challenged and have learned so much to prepare myself for my career when I graduate. I am definitely glad that I can tell future employer that I obtained my degree from Kennesaw. And I will no doubt be coming back to Kennesaw for graduate school.Am enjoying being here Kennesaw is an amazing school that is growing significantly. When I first came here, no one from my small town had heard of it and it was a lot smaller and looked a lot different. Within the past three years that I've been here, KSU has grown so much! Several dozen students from my hometown are transferring now to Kennesaw and it is definitely a now widely known university there. There are so many plans for further growth and it's just amazing to watch how much this school is transforming. I can't begin to imagine what KSU will be like in 10 years. I do know that my degree will be worth even more with years to come!
Since Kennesaw is growing at such an amazing rate, the dean or success and several campus organizations are definitely putting a lot of effort into campus activities. I've seen this grow exponentially since my first year here. There are definitely many different opportunities you can become involved in to enjoy your experience here at KSU. And the list of activities are definitely continuing to expand and the current ones are improving a lot as well!
Bang for the buck Kennesaw is a cheaper school since it isn't as popular as UGA or GaTech. However, since we have grown so much and are continuing to grow at such a fast rate, there is no telling what the prices may be in years to come. For now, it is definitely worth the price. I'd even be willing to pay even more just to have a football team to help promote Kennesaw even more (KSU will be getting football in 2014).
The education and experience is definitely worth the money. The dorms, however, are rather pricey! That is only because they are top notch and have several amazing residence life programs! The majority of the dorms are apartment style. Every single occupant has their own lockable rooms, so there is no sharing bunk beds! I think that majority or on-campus residents would rather have cheaper rent, though. It's a little overpriced.
Their new culinary center has so many different varieties that I am always satisfied after each meal. However, the prices can be a bit outrageous. ~$7+ per meal. It is a buffet center so it's easy to get your money's worth, but for people who don't eat a lot, it can become a disadvantage.Tips for prospective students I encourage you to take the opportunity to join Kennesaw while it's still in its growing process. To see the transformations that the university is going through is a rather interesting thing. Don't let the popularity of a school determine where you go. I assure you that it is definitely possible that in 10 years Kennesaw could surpass one of your other top choices.
Off campus apartment will save you a lot of money, but you will miss all of the events and fun experiences gained through Kennesaw's Residence Life programs.Great for these types of students The school has so many diverse programs that it is pretty much great for all types. The only ones that it doesn't quite relate much to is the people who are taking a major not offered by the university.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot There will always being boring and terrible professors. Ratemyprofessor.com helped me so much and I am enjoying most of classes.
Am enjoying being here I originally hated it during the beginning of the semester because
A) Its a commuter campus
B) People who live on campus leave on weekends so its dead.
Although, its up to you to make a change and make it better. I've started joining clubs and trying to get involved. Gather some friends and play a game outside. Invite people to join. My number of friends expands each month as an oncampus student. There are also multiple events going on that usually is sent to your email.
Plus, we have a large number of international students.Bang for the buck This campus is much cheaper than most big universities. Although, the rising tuition is across the state so it can't be avoided. Use up your meals at the Commons (cafeteria) and it surely won't be wasted.
Tips for prospective students Get help asap. Don't procrastinate, I do that too but I working on getting things done early. Get involved, you don't need to be in a sorority/fraternity. If there isn't a club, look into creating one! You'll definitely find friends fast.
Great for these types of students Willing to get involved and taking initiatives to make it the because experience you will have. Otherwise, you'll just have a cruddy experience.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences It is a very great university. Most of the professors really care about their students and want to help them succeed. The classes are hard within the biology department, but attending class and studying will help you succeed.
Tips for prospective students Attend class, read your books and study your notes to help make good grades. Make time to exercise to relieve stress from tests and studying.
Academic Rigor Classes are tough. Attend classes and study. Don't expect to not study and just make great grades. You must put in the work.
Dorm Life I lived on campus for two years and I enjoyed the convenience of walking to class and getting to take naps between class. I enjoyed being able to have people over between class to either study or just hang out.
Food and Dining I like the different options the dining hall offers on different days. I also like that for upperclassmen they only make you get a smaller dining package for students that do not live on campus and don't need the meals.
What to do for fun Work out, run on campus, hang out on the green and play frisbee. Attend the classes at the gym. Join an club team to make friends and play a sport to stay involved.
Bang for the buck Some of the fees seem excessive, but it is an up and coming school so it makes sense that the fees are going up. Tuition is not terrible and the hope scholarship in Georgia has been great.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Nothing really unusual, except when certain religious groups come to the first amendment area and get out of control.
Great for these types of students Great for students that want to live on campus, commute, and enjoy the college experience that is not to crazy, but still fun.
Clubs and Activities Many clubs and activities to get involved in that will suit your needs and expectations. Many exercise activities at gym to get involved in to meet people.
Greek Life No on campus housing for greek life as Cobb County won't allow it, but there are a few fraternities and sororities to get plugged into.
Campus Safety I have always felt safe. There is a number to call if you are feeling unsafe for any reason.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences This experience has been completely gratifying. There is an amazing sense of community and I have felt so welcome and at home while attending this college. I am very proud to be a student here.
Tips for prospective students Make sure you visit a college before you commit to enrolling. Just because it looks good on paper doesn't mean it's the school for you. If you do decide that this is the school for you, then congratulations! You've made a wise choice. I encourage that you try to live on campus because it allows you to meet so many new people. Also attend as many events as possible. They're always a good time and are a great way to experience new things. You should get to know your RA as well. They're always such wonderful people and can be there for you as a friend or even a mentor. It's easy to get caught up in the all the excitement of freshman year, but don't neglect your studies. After all, you are there to learn.
Academic Rigor As with any school the classes are going to challenge you. Granted, there are some classes that are going be a lot easier for some people. As long as you stay focused and put the effort into making good grades you will do well.
Dorm Life Living on campus is such an amazing experience. You get the opportunity to meet so many people from different cultures and backgrounds. There's always all sorts of free events happening that are thrown by the RA's. I would definitely suggest living on campus, especially if you are a freshman.
Food and Dining The Commons is great. There are also a few cafes on campus as well that are good. It's important to remember that the Freshman 15 is not a myth!
What to do for fun There is always something going on campus, you just have to look for it. A majority of the time activities are heavily advertised but sometimes there are other events either on campus, or locally that are going on.

Fair warning, along with your involvement on campus...you should also make sure you've come prepared. If you come prepared and ready to learn, you will thank yourself in the long run. While KSU provides loads of fun activities to participate in, don't lose sight of your purpose. Stay focused on achieving academic success.
Interact regularly with your professors. The faculty members of KSU are phenomenal and have a wealth of knowledge that can help you beyond the classroom. Go, become a sponge. It's a great way to soak up great information and learned valuables lessons that can be attributed to your future successes in your life experiences.Academic Rigor KSU is known a great place for college students of all ages. If you're looking for a university that will allow you a chance to challenge yourself and invigorate your mind, then look no further! Dorm Life KSU is has apartment-style housing to suit all of your dormitory needs. They offer great variety in different floor plans, roommate options, nearby shopping experiences, and bountiful amenities. KSU's student dorm life has got it going on!
Food and Dining As a commuter student, I enjoy eating at the Commons every time I step on campus. It is really hard to avoid all of their tasty creations and homestyle favorites. Whether you have to eat on the run or prefer to dine in, KSU Dining experience is the absolute best! Rated number one in cleanliness, friendliness, and the food is scrumptious and quite appeasing to even the pickiest of eaters.
What to do for fun Apart from my academics, I enjoy spending time at the gym, spending time in the lower level of the library (great hangout believe or not) or attending an event. There is always something enjoyable to do on campus.
Bang for the buck A-F-F-O-R-D-A-B-L-E! This university is definitely easy on your wallet and you do not have to go into debt to attend school. KSU has many financing options and allows you the ability to really choose how you pay for college.
Great for these types of students Minority students, adults returning back to college, or non-traditional students will love the atmosphere at KSU. At KSU you do not feel out of place or like an outcast. Everyone partakes in a welcoming and close-knit family like setting at this university, and I love this about KSU because I have yet to see it duplicated at any other college in GA.
Campus Safety Safety is placed at the top of the agenda list here at KSU and you are always made well aware of anything that happens on or in the vicinity of the university's grounds. The school will alert you via text, email, and even provide a courtesy phone call to ensure you get the message. I always feel safe and secure.

Food and Dining Love the Commons!! dining in the student center isn't bad either!

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences Kennesaw is a great college campus. It has the feel of a community college and big university, just without the down town bar scene that other colleges have. The professors at Kennesaw have actually worked in the fields that they teach, which makes it a better learning experience for the student because we can tell that they actually know what they are talking about.
Tips for prospective students Get to school at class change time and you will always find a parking spot in a lot instead of a parking deck. Use ratemyprofessor.com when selecting your classes so that you know what you're in for as far as work load goes, but be advised: lazy students will always give professors bad ratings so read ALL of them to get a real picture of what the professor is like. Try to find an apartment or house off-campus if you're paying for yourself. University Place and University Village are the best on campus housing you will find- so live there if you can afford it and want the convenience of walking to class.
Academic Rigor There is always more homework in core classes than in upper-level courses, but the upper-level courses are much harder, so keep your GPA up with the core classes your first couple of years, it will prepare you for the amount of studying you'll have to do in your 3rd and 4th years of college. (and if you happen to fail your first major class, you have a strong GPA to fall back on)
Dorm Life Living on campus is always more expensive than living off campus; however, not having to find parking before class is a huge convenience that off campus students do not get the pleasure of having. The resident life activities are fun and usually involve food, and the RA's are pretty reasonable.
Food and Dining The Commons is very convenient because there is a required meal plan tier for freshman and full-time off campus students, so whenever you're broke and need some food, as long as its open, you can use meal plan swipes and have all you can eat. The food is pretty good, especially from the Globe Trotter, and you can never go wrong with the grilled cheese sandwiches!
What to do for fun The places to be around Kennesaw (depending on your scene) are Chicago's Pizza/Bar, TacoMac, Electric Cowboy, or Sidelines for the most part. Kennesaw Mountain is a good hiking experience, and there's Pigeon Hill if the big mountain isn't enough for you. There are tons of events that go on on-campus, but they are usually during the day. There is a pretty good Greek-life population at Kennesaw, but there aren't that many fraternities/sororities to chose from. Nature bound is a fun club to join if you like the outdoors, and there are a ton of on-campus concerts/plays that go on throughout the semester. All of the Kennesaw athletic events are free for students so try to go to some of those.
Bang for the buck Kennesaw is definitely worth the amount students pay to attend!! Students pay so many fees alongside tuition, so you might as well take advantage of everything your campus has to offer. There is a student Recreation and Wellness center that is pretty outstanding, and its technically FREE (you pay for it with your tuition). You will have to pay an international fee that goes to paying for scholarships that send students on study abroad programs- so sign up for one and use YOUR money. Its only the smart thing to do; if you are already paying for it, utilize it.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus There is a Live Action Role Playing commune that enjoys their sport out on the campus green on a regular basis. They are pretty entertaining to watch if ever sun-bathing on the green. The green is a large grassy field in the middle of campus surrounded by the student center, recreation center, Kennesaw Hall, and the Coles College of Business. Its a popular hang out spot where people pay ultimate frisbee, football, soccer, lacrosse, and of course LARPing.
Great for these types of students Kennesaw has a very diverse population and is accommodating to all types of students, not just traditional high school graduates. It offers clases online for the non-traditional student who may not have time for going to campus or night classes, as well as classes starting from 7:30 am ending at 10:15pm for the students who want to come to class before or after work. There are a number of hybrid classes, and classes offered at the center for continuing education for specific certifications that don't require even being a Kennesaw student. There is a variety of major options and graduate school options so that anyone seeking almost any degree is welcomed and will be taken care of there.
Clubs and Activities There are so many different clubs to join at Kennesaw; the student center offers the widest variety its sometimes hard to figure out where to start when you walk in.
Campus Safety KSU police are everywhere, and are always willing to help out with any circumstance. There are emergency call boxes all around campus so that a policeman can be reached even if you dont have the number or if you've lost your phone. All in all, I would say Kennesaw is a pretty safe campus. It is in a good part of town ( not that any part of Kennesaw is a bad part of town) It is simply a good, clean, safe area to live in and attend school.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences Kennesaw State University is a higher education institution that actually cares about its students and doesn't simply view them as tuition-paying attendees. It's a very diverse campus with students from every corner of the globe, and is accepting of any and all races, cultures, religions, and orientations. It's easy to feel at home at KSU, like you've really found a place for yourself.
Tips for prospective students Do not put off turning in financial aid documents or correcting anything on them that may be wrong or missing. It is vital, once you are accepted and have set up a KSU student email address, that you check it daily, even before you start attending, because you will constantly receive important emails through that address. Do not procrastinate on anything concerning the tax returns, verification forms, or anything else they need from you. It's much less stress if you stay on top of everything. Also, apply for as many scholarships as you can, and get as much money as you can. The worst that can happen is that you have excess money, and you get a nice refund check. The last thing you want is to take out a student loan, like I did. Also, get involved on campus! Do not stay home on a constant basis. Join something, anything, and meet new people. It's such a rewarding experience to be involved on campus, and believe it or not, it's easy to make a difference not only on campus, but in the community and even in individual people's lives, by getting involved. You will have more fun and gain greater experience than you might think.
Academic Rigor Kennesaw State University is definitely a university that takes its academics seriously. Many of the classes, in order for you to do well, require regular attendance (meaning, don't miss any of you can help it, and if you do, make sure you find out what you missed!), regular studying, and a lot of reading (I cannot stress this enough. There is so much reading to do here). Most of the professors are absolutely fantastic and will help you in any way I can. KSU truly does care about its students! Some of the programs, such as the nursing program, require extremely impressive grades as well as community and extracurricular involvement to give you a better chance of getting in, but if you truly put forth the effort, you will succeed beyond your own wildest expectations (and others', as well).
Dorm Life Dorm life is great at KSU, with several different dorms to room in. The dorms are themselves beautiful, and a lot of interesting and engaging events happen there. You can have your own room, or anywhere from 2 to four roommates. There can be, as with any other college's living arrangements, roommate conflicts, but that's what the RA's are there to help with. The RA's are incredible. They become some of the first friends you'll make, and they're great to go to with any questions. They have basically seen, heard, and experienced it all!
Food and Dining There are so many option for food and dining at Kennesaw State. The Commons, which is the main dining hall, is the main place to eat, with different restaurants to visit, and usually, all of the food is delicious. In the Commons, you can stay as long as you want (well, until they close), eat as much as you want, and even bring your homework - it has wifi! There are also multiple coffee shops around campus, as well as a sandwich shop and Chick-Fil-A in the student Center. Next to the Commons is On The Fly, a small place to get drinks, wraps, pizza, and sandwiches, and take them with you on your way to class or back to the dorms. There's also a small cafe on the first floor of the University Village Suites, one of the freshman-exclusive dorms, and, finally, the Hoot, a restaurant in the Village (freshman dorms) that serves everything from chicken tenders and fries to funnel cake.
What to do for fun From sporting events to dance parties in the University Village to Cram Jam (the end-of-semester party held in the Commons to kick-off finals week), it's nearly impossible to be bored. The campus Green, in the middle of the campus, almost always has something going on during the warmer months of the year. If you live in the dorms, there is an endless supply of Residence Life events to go to, and I highly recommend that you go! It's an entertaining, easy way to meet new people, make friends, and get to know the RA's of the building, and there's usually always free food (and because meal plans are expensive, it's always a good idea to go to events where there's free food). There's also a good chance at many events to get free t-shirts, which are always good to have. My best advice is to NOT stay in your dorm room all the time - get out there, go to events, and enjoy all of the things that KSU has to offer. College is about having fun, too!
Bang for the buck For what you pay in tuition, Kennesaw State is certainly worth the money. You will receive a fantastic education and meet incredible people. Meal plans and dorm rent are expensive and may not be for everyone (although every freshman is required to purchase a meal plan), but if you choose to live on campus, the dorms are no Motel 6. What you pay in rent gets you respectably nice living quarters. If you choose to attend KSU, don't let anyone make you feel guilty, or lame for not choosing a more popular Georgia university, such as UGA or Georgia Tech. Kennesaw State is a truly wonderful school, too, even if it doesn't receive proper recognition for it.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Some interesting traditions on campus include KSU Day, which is held on the campus Green, and gives students a chance to get outside in the spring and enjoy free food, games, and other activities, and celebrates KSU. There's also Cram Jam, which, as I mentioned, is a party in the Commons to kick-off finals week. As for unusual locations, there aren't many of those. Everything is fairly easy to find and access.
Great for these types of students Kennesaw State is a great choice for students who want to be pushed academically but still want the opportunity to get involved on campus. While the work can be hard, if you stay on top of it, you will have plenty of time to join clubs, organizations, and societies. It's also a great place for nursing students - the nursing program here at KSU is highly renowned, highly competitive, and will be very rewarding if you get in. The business and education programs are also great, and the theatre/drama department here is growing rapidly.
Clubs and Activities It's impossible to count the organizations, clubs, societies, and activities to get involved in at KSU. From sororities and fraternities, to intramural sports, to the cheerleading and dance squads, to honor societies (which, by the way, do not deem you a nerd if you join - it just means you've been serious about your education and you're being rewarded for it) - there is truly something for everyone. There's even a horror movie club that shows horror movies every week. It is SO important to get involved on campus and join something - even if it's just for a resume or scholarship application, you're going to want to be a part of something, find a niche for yourself. It's a matter of taking pride in the fact that you are an important part of Owl Country, and truly enjoying your college experience, instead of considering it a grueling four or more years of hard book-hitting and academic torture. College truly will be the best years of your life.
Greek Life There are so many different sororities and fraternities on campus to join. A common warning: they are expensive. I am not in a sorority myself, or any Greek organization, but I have plenty of friends who are, and they love it. It's yet another great way to meet people and find a place for yourself. From what I've heard, your sorority or fraternity will become your family, and if you're living on campus, it's nice to have some kind of family that you'll see often.
Campus Safety KSU is actually a quite safe campus. There is a very low rate of theft, sexual assault, and other dangers that are quite common on some other campuses (i.e. shootings, etc.). It's important, however, to take every precaution you would anywhere else, because no campus is perfectly safe. Don't leave your dorm room unlocked or deadbolted unless you're inside it, don't leave your bookbag/purse/keys unattended in the Commons or library (or anywhere else, for that matter), and lock your car in the parking decks/lots (and make sure not to leave anything visible in your car that would invite someone to break in). If you live on campus, when you go home or on vacation, take your most valuable things with you from your dorm room, just in case. KSU is fairly safe, but you can never be too careful.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences The university have vastly grown throughout the years when they first began. I have gotten comments about how small Kennesaw State University when they once were a community college. Everyone in the community here are relaxed, everyday there is anyways an event happening through different student associations, and there is always something to do whether you need help studying or trying to meet new people.
Tips for prospective students Majority of the people around the University are great and friendly towards anyone they talk to. If you do have problems there are great programs which the university offers from road trips to international studies.
Academic Rigor There are some classes that are tough. But, the University at Kennesaw State has great academic standing. There will be times when a
Dorm Life The dorms here are a lot better compared to other Universities. Also, recently Kennesaw State had put in a couple new complexes around campus which is fairly cheap. I have friends living in dorms paying around $500 dollars per month with everything paid from utilities, electricity, and water.
Food and Dining Food and dining have different selections throughout the cafeteria, whether you want pizza, spaghetti, salad, deli sandwich, sushi, and Chinese cuisine. Also, the meals changed throughout the day, in morning, lunch, and dinner. Also, meal plans can be purchased on your student card ID which you can go in the cafeteria to eat all you want for one swipe each time you visit the cafeteria aka the commons
What to do for fun Many people hang around the green which is basically a football size oval grass. Most of the time there is always an event happening everyday or week which is to promote or to be aware of through the event. Majority of the time the events are free and is already paid for by the University or privately funded.
Bang for the buck Definitely a bang for the buck. The tuition is great, and the University offers a lot of programs for majors, with such varieties to choose from. But, specifically speaking Kennesaw has one of the best Nursing/medical facility around in Georgia.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus There will be some events happening as of awareness month such as learning the culture of Peru, and every month there is always a different country to learn about.
Great for these types of students Kennesaw has a huge variety of students from Japan to Europe, as well as people from Uganda. You meet new people everyday from different countries.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences Kennesaw State University is an amazing place to go to college. It is the third largest school in the state of Georgia. We are one of the most diverse schools in the state; no matter who you are, you will fit in here.
Tips for prospective students Make sure you get familiar with your professors. Getting to know them definitely helps your grade. Gain knowledge of who is teaching what course before you choose one. The difference between two professors will effect what you learn in the course and whether you become interested in the material. Be friendly to everyone; it is a great way to make friends. Get involved! The more involved you are, the more passionate you will be about this school and the more you'll enjoy college.
Academic Rigor Kennesaw can be challenging at times, but it is worth the work. You leave a class more knowledgeable about a subject than you ever realized you would be able to.
Dorm Life Residence Life is a huge part of KSU. The dorms are amazing, no matter where you live. There are essentially four different living options, all which will suit your needs effectively. The University Village Suites (for freshmen) is state-of-the-art and rated one of the top residence halls in the country. The Residence Assistants (RAs) are extremely friendly and always willing to help out.

There are a large number of food options and the menu changes everyday. They also have vegan and gluten free options. At night, The Hoot is open and it is like a fast food type restaurant that also uses your meal plan. The Hoot offers many different options for late-night dining and is located right beside the dorms. There is also free food offered many days of the week at random events.
What to do for fun The Campus Green is where most people hang out in the warm months. There are lots of games going on and you can also rent hammocks to tie to the trees. There are swings and places to just hang out with friends as well. Most sporting events at KSU are free for students. Ice hockey games are not, but they only cost $3 for students and are definitely worth the money! There is always something going on on campus to participate in.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences strong academic school with a broad range of majors and lots of student involvement. boredom not a possibility at this school with plenty on campus activities from intramurals to student organizations. if you're looking for a university that has it all; good teachers with varying class sizes for a more one to one relationship, great social opportunities with over 19,000 undergraduates and growing, or even competitive sports programs, you found the perfect place.
Tips for prospective students get involved! take advantage of the student activities board because there are so many possibilities on campus for every student.
Academic Rigor classes range form relatively mild difficulty to very stimulating. depending on whether you take a general ed course which are the relatively easier classes but do not expect any easy a's, to more specialized course work, which is expected to be more strenuous.
Dorm Life don't be afraid to live on campus. great range of housing opportunities with possibilities on and off campus. dorm life on campus can be pricey at places like university village and university place but ksu place can offer a more relaxed apartment feel.
Food and Dining best dining experience a college can offer hands down. if you want to the real college experience the commons offers affordable meal plans and ones where you get more bang for the buck. either way the different food possibilities will keep you coming back, from american diner to cultural cuisines.
What to do for fun as previously stated, plenty of on and off campus activities for students. club sports offer a relatively affordable and popular option for sports players who prefer a balance between social and extracurricular involvement. a large number of campus organizations like the international student association, but for further options, visit the center for student involvement which offers various events and activities for students seeking involvement.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus the campus green is a place on campus where students are liveliest. on a nice day where the sun is shining one can commonly find hammocks hung between trees and students making friends over tossing the frisbee or playing a game of soccer.
Greek Life no greek housing but the greek community is definitely apparent and easy to get involved with. great for students seeking social relationships that will last far beyond the university with better networking possibilities.
Campus Safety there are campus police as well as public safety officers to monitor student organizations and spontaneous events that occur on campus to keep everything in order.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences kennesaw state university is not a school that feels like a home away from home. it is still heavily a commuter school. since it has many commuters, the feel of campus is one of get in and get out.
Tips for prospective students i would really look into reviews on possible professors on various websites prior to enrolling into their classes. there are many great professors, but there are more bad professors. you really do not want to take the chance and possibly have a bad professor because at that point you might as well drop out of the class altogether. usually they make it very difficult to find a way to help you out in getting your grade better.
Academic Rigor i have only had to take general education classes that everyone is required for their major, so i cannot put input on any academic classes for upper level students. with that being said, the classes are pretty easy. i have not had to take much time out of my days off campus to make sure i knew the content in my classes. if you go to lectures you will be okay, for the most part.
Dorm Life i have not lived in the dorms, so i would not know how the dorm life is on a daily basis. from what i've heard, it is great to live on campus and the resident assistants are pretty relaxed about what goes on in the halls.
Food and Dining the dining hall, the commons, is a great place to eat. as soon as you swipe your id card, you are accessible to hundreds of different options. you could eat pizza, foreign foods, southern styled food, desserts, salads, and burgers. the menus of the different types of foods always has a great variety to it. the school is very environmentally friendly, so you don't have to deal with throwing away dirty paper plates, but instead they have a state of the art washing room that power cleans all the dishes. the commons is also a great social place because everyone can get exactly what kind of food they want, yet still be with their friends.
What to do for fun kennesaw state university is in the heart of kennesaw the city. there is town center mall, which has a great variety of stores. there are also a great variation of bars, clubs, and restaurants to visit around the city. you are not far from the highway, so you can get right onto it and get to atlanta within thirty minutes. the campus has a variety of things going on, so getting involved would give you plenty of opportunities to have something to do.
Bang for the buck the school overall is pretty great for the price and location. it is a growing school, so they do have a lot more fees and will charge you for random things that you probably did not think you would have to pay for. you have access to many high tech things, and you always will have the ability to get with a free tutor and have your paper edited if you need it to have a second look by someone other than yourself.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus the green, which is a giant circle of grass that has a small walking track around it in the heart of campus, usually has many different people on it doing different things. people like to slack-line, which is where you take a hammock like object and tie it up in the trees around the green, and sleep in it for hours on a great sunny day. also, some people tight rope in between the trees, and many people play frisbee on the green. so the green is probably the best place to have unorganized fun on campus.
Great for these types of students i would say if you were a student who was wanting to have a non-traditional styled school that has been built within the city, this is a great school for them. the students should not want to be on campus as much as wanting to be around the campus seeing what the world has to offer. it is a great area to get a job and an apartment off campus, since there is a large mall and many other stores.
Clubs and Activities there are many many clubs that you can join. there are a lot of religious groups that are pretty active on campus along with the fitness clubs.
Greek Life greek life is not a huge part of kennesaw state university. the fraternities and sororities do not own houses, but instead they have designated meeting rooms within the student center building. it is a growing organization at the school though, so i would say within fifteen years they will all own houses, but it would be farther away from campus due to the campus being in the heart of kennesaw and not having much room to expand on the main campus grounds.
Campus Safety safety is a huge thing for kennesaw. if anything suspicious is going on on campus, they will notify you three times, even if you are not at serious risk. they will first call you, then text you, and also email you the same message so you are up to date about what is happening. there are campus police everywhere on campus, and if you happen to not be around any and you are being chased or have an emergency, there are plenty of emergency call boxes that have these buttons on them that once you press them, it will automatically call the campus police (who can call the county police) to the exact location of where you hit the button. you should never feel unsafe on this campus.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences kennesaw state university gets five stars for having a great atmosphere. the teachers are for the most part amazing and ready to teach. the campus always has events going on so you will never be bored.
Tips for prospective students apply to housing early. housing fills up very quickly. go to all your classes most teachers expect you to be there. i don't have a single class i would make an a in if i skipped.
Academic Rigor kennesaw is not a very hard school, but that also depends on your major. kennesaw has the best nursing and teaching program in the state so if you would like to major in either one of those fields prepare to work.
Dorm Life i would advise all freshman to live on campus. they have a lot of events going on throughout the year and that's how i made most of my close friends.
Food and Dining the commons has amazing food. they do a good job of having a variety so you never get sick of eating there. also for you night owls out there the hoot opens at 8 p.m. so if you missed dinner don't fret.
What to do for fun kennesaw has the best location for a college campus. you are less then five miles from everything. we have a mall, movies, any kind of food you could desire, bowling, hookah, and bars.
Bang for the buck this campus has it all. it is so close to everything you will never be bored as well as close to i 75 and hwy 575 so if you get a little home sick you are not too far.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences kennesaw state university is a really good school. its not too much going on to where as though you would lose focus on school. its just right for me.
Tips for prospective students don't come here treating it like its high school, learn study habits, stay focus, don't party too much, stay on top of your work, don't procrastinate!
Dorm Life dorm life at kennesaw state university is wonderful. there is always something or you to do. i just feel as though as much as we pay for housing shouldn't be as much.

What to do for fun for fun here at kennesaw i go tot he computer labs in the dorms and work on some work with some friends or have study sessions. i also find myself going out with some friends to the movies.
Great for these types of students dedicated, focused, don't like partying, want to make new friends

Greek Life greek life is not too open here but they do have a few activities that they assemble throughout the year.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences i love ksu, it is such a great community, no matter where you go or how late it is i always feel safe. the campus is gorgeous and there are always tons of events; there's no excuse not to have fun! it offers so many engagements to support and enhance your college experience.
Tips for prospective students go to class; the one time you decide to skip will be the one time the professor mentions an assignment, you'll learn the information better and make friends. stay on top of your work; (keep an agenda) get it done as soon as possible- the quality of an essay is a lot better when it's not written being rushed an hour before it's due. besides, getting it done early means having a stress-free weekend. do your best; no matter what field you are going into people always look at your grades. and don't party obsessively, all you will do is end up hurting yourself or getting hurt, additionally you will have just wasted all your time, money and any effort you've put towards making something of yourself.
Academic Rigor for every hard class there is an easy one, so it's hard to put a label on it overall but ask friends before signing up for a specific class, see what they thought of it. keep the classes under control and don't let it get you frustrated if you cannot understand something. ask questions, the professors don't mind or go to tutoring, the writing center and math lab are great resources.
Dorm Life i love my dorm, it's cheap and comfortable. the area is safe so i don't feel like there is an issue and my roommates are great. every ra is different but the one assigned to my building is super awesome and makes an effort to get to know everybody personally. plus, housing is always throwing fun stuff so keep an eye out for it!
Food and Dining there are many options available on campus where you can use your meal plans. the commons is most often the place of choice- it offers a tons of things and most of the time tastes pretty good! the hoot opens at 8pm and offers fast food items such as hamburgers, chicken sandwiches and fries. on the fly has things for you to grab on the way to class such as sandwiches or chips. there are also some coffee shops and other smaller places in various buildings all over campus.
What to do for fun first of all, i recommend you get to know your roommate(s) so you will have at least one person to have a blast with. at the beginning of the semester student life always throws a bunch of events where you can meet new people and get lots of free stuff (always a fantastic thing), resident assistants also like to have fun stuff, the day i moved in my ra had an ice cream social which was both awesome and delicious. c:
Bang for the buck definitely worth it! included in tuition & fees (which is mandatory to pay) you pay a small amount for all of the following stuff accessible exclusively to students: a 4-story library, the writing center, math lab, computer usage, on-campus wi-fi, admission into most athletic games, tournaments held on campus and a gym that offers exercise classes.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus because the campus is notorious for flooding and chilly winters, everybody works the rainy day fashion trend. this includes but is not limited to- rain boots/water proof shoes, jackets/slickers, messy hair and silly printed umbrellas. also, because of how many opportunities there are for free stuff, there is alot of ksu spirit wear. go owls!
Great for these types of students kennesaw state is great for those who want the experience of a big school with so much to offer without the noise or insanity of a city.
Clubs and Activities ksu offers a full spectrum of clubs and activities for anybody to do. if you're bored you need only walk to the nearest bulletin board to see the latest event. there is everything ranging from bible-study, student government, sororities/ fraternities and yes, even there is even a larping group on campus.
Campus Safety i have never felt scared on campus, there is an emergency button post on just about every-corner or few feet. when pushed, these buttons alert the ksu police who are available 24/7 and will get to you as soon as possible. i can count at least 4-5 from my window. both ras and ksu police patrol the area regularly day and night. they also offer self-defense, first aid and cpr classes so in the event you are off campus, you can still defend yourself. there are certain parts of housing that are only accessible by your room key including hallways, so nobody can break in without having proper credentials.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences I think way too many people underrate KSU. We are now the third largest university in Georgia! This is a great place to be and to learn.
Tips for prospective students Definitely come here if you have the choice, you won't regret it. And take morning classes the parking is better.
Academic Rigor I feel challenged here, but not overwhelmed. I graduated from high in the very top of my class and I feel like KSU was the perfect it for me.
Dorm Life I know some people love the dorms, but I didn't. I lived there for 2 months and then moved out. Not because of the dorm life though, The RA's are always planning something for you to do. It's just the fact that you are always on campus, and it's not a huge place. However, KSU is so close the mall, plenty of restaurants, and tons of other stuff.
Food and Dining Our dining hall is the best. There are at least 10 different stations with great food, it's two stories and CLEAN. There's also plenty of places to eat around KSU,, there are tons of restaurants right beside it. Kennesaw has become a college town. There's coffee shops all over the campus and places to get food in almost every building. You will no go hungry here. EVER.
What to do for fun Being only 15 minutes from Atlanta and plenty to do in Kennesaw itself, you can't get bored. There's always something going on on campus, but if you want to get away go to Town Center which is 5 minutes away. Or you can drive to Atlanta and go to a club or even more shopping and eating.
Bang for the buck Definitely worth the money. Except for the mandatory food plan.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus We've only been around since 1963, so we don't have any unusual traditions...YET.
Great for these types of students People who want a good school not too far from home but far enough if you want to live there. Students who want great teachers and a place to grow.
Clubs and Activities Plenty of clubs to join, and plenty to do if you are into that.
Greek Life I'm not in a sorority, but from what I understand people love it.
Campus Safety I always feel safe. There are always KSU police around, and they have these emergency buttons all over campus.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot I am learning many new things at Kennesaw State University. It has been a tough four years, but I have maintained a 4.0. My teachers have, for the most part, been knowledgeable and understanding. Of course, there are a few that are not great, but that is true for every school. Many opportunities have been opened up to me due to this school. They have a strong student life program, a nice bookstore, and plenty of help for struggling students.
Am enjoying being here Kennesaw State University is an aesthetically beautiful campus that is nice to walk. Parking is definitely not fun at all, but if you get there at least an hour before class and don't mind walking on occasion then you should have plenty of time to find a decent parking spot. All in all, Kennesaw State University has been an enjoyable experience for me. I started there when I was 17 and there were plenty of helpful professors and students who helped me get started and comfortable with the campus. High school students going to college at Kennesaw will have nothing to fear at this school.
Bang for the buck While this is a fairly cheap university to attend, there has been an increase in fees recently. This has been fairly disappointing, but it does happen. The decrease in HOPE has also had an impact on students. Despite this, it is a reasonable priced university and I would recommend it.
Tips for prospective students Parking, as previously mentioned, is a problem with this campus. Please get there early to ensure that there is a parking spot available for you. There is plenty to do on campus if you decide to get there extremely early and there is plenty of space to relax or study should you choose to do that. Since you do pay for the meal plan in your fees despite wanting it or not, please go to the Commons and use it. If you don't like crowds then go on a Friday or late afternoon. It won't be as crowded then. Job opportunities are readily available on campus, so if you are looking for a job then use the Career Services Center and Kennesaw website to look for opportunities. Being employed at the university is beneficial because you get earlier registration times and they are understanding of your schedule. If you have any problems with a class then talk to your teacher. In my experience, they have all been very helpful if you just tell them what is going on. Hopefully this review has been helpful!
Great for these types of students Students who want to do their best and be in a comfortable environment would truly enjoy this school. It is also good for students who like to live in a population mostly made up of college students. However, it is also about 40 minutes away from Atlanta, so that is also an option for the more out-on-the-town types. The campus is large, but is also walkable so it is not overwhelming. Good luck!

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot There are some great courses offered at KSU with very intelligent professors. Although each instructor's teaching style varies from another, professors have an elegant way of passing down information -- they do this in a way that gains student's attention...it sparks their curiosity.
Am enjoying being here I loved studying at KSU -- it provided a calm atmosphere for me to concentrate on my studies. There were times where I enjoyed spending times with friends at the new dining hall, and other moments where I concentrated on reading a biology textbook on the campus green.
Bang for the buck Education is something that comes with no limits. Every cent spent on education at KSU was worth it as the knowledge I gained will forever remain with me.
Tips for prospective students 1. Get involved in campus activities.
2. Manage your time wisely.
3. Find something you love about each subject.Great for these types of students Motivated, family oriented, and nature-loving!

Bang for the buck It's about as good as it gets as far as college costs. They can get irritating with their sometimes unnecessary fees but tuition is reasonable.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot I am an art student, and in the art building there are a ton of working artists, who will give you the necessary help to let you succeed in the program.
Am enjoying being here There is always something happening on campus, or around campus. If you don't have a car, like me, don't worry there are tons of things to do and there are always people with cars, just be social and you'll have rides to nearly everything happening around Kennesaw and Atlanta.
Bang for the buck Being that Kennesaw is like the second largest public school in Georgia, tuition is not too bad, and the relatively small amount you pay in tuition and fees pays for nearly EVERYTHING on campus. Take advantage.
Tips for prospective students TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE OPPORTUNITIES. You already paid for it so go and enjoy KSU. Also, if you plan to live off campus, don't be scared to linger on campus after classes, it will allow you to meet more people and it will make you feel more connected to KSU.
Great for these types of students Great for students who are here to get a degree or get some general education classes done.
