This is a very student-friendly campus. It is a very comfortable place. The staff certainly make students feel welcome and the staff treat each student as an individual.

    Tips for prospective students

Just enroll, and make sure to sign up for classes and pay for them early. They do fill up quickly. Also, make sure to fill out your FAFSA and all of your financial aid paperwork extremely early so that you can get your funds for books in time.

    Academic Rigor

The teachers and the staff all treat the students very well. They treat the students with courtesy and respect. The students also treat each other respectfully.

    Dorm Life

I have not seen anyone or heard of anyone who lives in the dorms on campus, so I am not sure if they are being occupied or not.

    Food and Dining

The cafe and coffee bar are excellent. They have many different choices for each meal, along with a large variety of sodas, tea, and the best coffee. The coffee is even better than Starbucks coffee.

    What to do for fun

Play sports, join a club, socialize, text on your cell phone, go for a walk, make new friends, and learn something new every day.

    Bang for the buck

It is definitely worth your money. I have learned so much in the past year at Lassen Community College, and I learn more every single day.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

There are barbeques and gatherings for special occasions and holidays. It is a lot of fun. Sometimes they even have a band playing on campus (not the school band).

Great for these types of students

Great for students who are athletic, who are into Nursing, becoming a Fireman, or even a Florist or a Farmer.

    Clubs and Activities

They have horseback riding activities and a club, they have all kinds of sports competitions and a few clubs, they have a chess club, a science club, a math club, a history club, and a computer club. They also have a great Theater Department.

    Campus Safety

The campus is very safe and comfortable for most of the students. Whenever it snows, the staff makes sure that there is salt on the sidewalk so students do not slip and fall, and the snow is cleared from the roads and walkways nice and early in the morning.

the college is quite nice. we have many classes that can be taken to finish a degree or be able to transfer with as well. also it is a pleasant atmosphere.

    Tips for prospective students

start registration early. make sure you take a look at offered degrees which are located just outside the counseling office. just because it is a californian school does not mean it is warm throughout the year, bring warm clothes as we do get snow. talk to your teachers and know you can ask for help. if you have a problem, take it up with our dean as she is trying to make the school more appealing for all. just tolerate the counselors and admissions office, some of them may be idiots, but just breathe and get through it.

    Academic Rigor

    acceptable to get by.

    Dorm Life

i'm not sure as i've never lived in the dorms.

    Food and Dining

the food is all right as far as i know from what little experience i've had in the cafeteria. i have allergies and cannot often eat in the place as it's just easier to bring my own food, but others have stated the food is great.

    What to do for fun

there's not a lot to do here, but there are some things from what i've derived from others as being fun. i'm not big in the college scene. not to say that i have no life, it's just that i'm more focused on school than parties, but as it is, please talk to one of the other students. i'm sure they'll give you more information.

    Bang for the buck

    cheap and worth it.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

there are none that i am aware of so far.

Great for these types of students

    serious, mature.

    Campus Safety

the campus is close to the hospital which is great for emergencies on campus. not that there are many. we've only had a couple things happen. fire accident in classroom, threat to one of the teachers and/or students, but nothing that hasn't been taken care of by our school and the local police and firefighters.
the school teachers have cracked down on those acting out of line by throwing them out of class and calling security as i witnessed recently, but that was due to a recent threat to one of the teachers. they do regard these actions seriously and also due to the recent events of school shootings, the campus (as i'm sure others also followed) is taking stuff far more seriously as of late.
however every school has that one idiot that will not stop arguing after being told to be quiet and settle down. it's normal. don't let this change your mind about going here as i'm sure you'll come to find out that these types are everywhere and also that these people are just exiting out of home and trying to prove themselves to the adult world despite the lack of realization that they're still immature.
if you have any concerns, please call the school and ask questions as i always regard that as a sure way to gather information. remember that you can also ask for statistics for criminal acts through researching the school and the county if you are concerned.
