    Am learning a lot

Lebanon Valley excels in all of its programs! As I am currently planning on majoring in Physical Therapy, I will continue onto the next phase of graduate study in only 3 years! This school cuts off one entire year of schooling, condenses it, but challenges students even more! Some other friends are taking math classes here, and although it is hard, they are all so happy with their education they are receiving! My classes overall are definitely tough as well, but this college gives you such a great education, especially with all of the general education requirements that need to be met.

    Am enjoying being here

I was truly nervous before I came to this school, but now I never want to leave! I was definitely unsure if I'd like my roommate, but she is so awesome! It's great because they actually give thought to the students they put to live together at this college, unlike large universities where it is random. All the people on my floor are my best friends now, we have bonded greatly! There is always something to do on campus too, whether it be a comedian on Fridays, a band playing at MJ's, fun fitness classes, or something else the college has planned, everybody always has a blast! At LVC, they have a Redbook where you can sign up for weekend events such as Hershey Park, a hayride, and even a FREE Jordin Sparks concert!

    Bang for the buck

The college is a bit pricey compared to many in-state schools, but compared to most private colleges, LVC gives great scholarships. If you are in the top 10% of your class, you receive half off of your tuition! Even then, those who graduate in the top 20% receive one-third off of tuition, and those in the top 30% receive one-fourth off of tuition! The education, again, is just awesome. I have learned so much in just one semester that most of my friends going to public universities have not in the same courses!

    Tips for prospective students

I would recommend keeping your grades up even throughout your senior year--Don't get lazy! Also, come up to visit LVC! In the spring they have Valleyfest which is a weekend filled with games, art, and a concert! It's great to have fun with friends, or bring up the whole family! Also, come visit during class and sit in on a lecture to see what the feel really is and if this small campus truly suits you!

Great for these types of students

If you live in a small-town, Annville will feel like home to you. It's also nice for people who like to sleep a lot, since, unlike large campuses, LVC is about a 3 minute walk to any class. So in case you like to sleep in until 7:55 on a morning when you have an 8:00 class, you can still make it! Also, LVC has a variety of great food choices, so if you like to eat, this is the school for you!

    Am learning a lot

Lebanon Valley College is a liberal arts college that offers a wide variety of degree programs. The general education classes here are fairly difficult, so you learn a lot besides your degree. This college is mainly known for its Physical Therapy, Science, and Music programs, and I can say from the standpoint of a Music major that the faculty for these programs is stellar. The yearly tuition is rather high, even with the GPA-based scholarships, but it is well worth the cost if you know what sort of education you're looking for.

    Tips for prospective students

Keep on top of your financial status and make sure you pay off all charges on time. Also, take advantage of LVC's open houses and student visits before you make your final decision.

Great for these types of students

LVC is a great opportunity for hard-working students who love to learn. You get an added bonus if you are looking for either a Physical Therapy, Science-related, or Music degree.

    Am learning a lot

I am in LVC's 6 year Doctorate of Physical Therapy program and while it is tough, I have learned so much by attending this college. Every one of my professors have been great and the small class environment really enhances learning. The professors know your name and know how to help you. You are not considered just another number at LVC. They are more than willing to meet with you whenever you can to help you in any way they can. They make themselves completely accessible to better your learning.

    Am enjoying being here

I absolutely love being at LVC! I could not see myself going to a different school. The campus is beautiful and there is always something going on. Walking from class to class isn't a hassle considering it is at most 5 minutes. Besides the resources the school provides and the environment the school is in, the students that attend this school are what make it worth while. Every student is unique and has their own way of doing things, however, everyone is down to earth, friendly, and everyone feels as if they belong. I have made so many friendships and relationships with people that will continue to last past graduation.

    Bang for the buck

LVC is relatively expensive compared to state schools, however, when looking at other private institutions, LVC ranks high on the list. LVC gives out a lot of money through scholarships and then some. If you are determined to stay there, they will help you out in anyway they can. Overall, the experience I have already had there is priceless.

    Tips for prospective students

When looking for a school make sure you know what you want. Definitely visit each campus twice (with the schools you are definitely interested in) - once with a bigger tour and a second time with a one-on-one session with a student. I did both of these things when I narrowed my choice down and that is ultimately what allowed me to make my decision because I knew LVC felt like the right place for me. Lastly, keep your head up. Looking at colleges is a time consuming, extensive process, but if you put the time into it in high school, you most definitely won't regret it once you've chosen the right school for you!

    Will learn a lot

There are so many different opportunities at LVC and I really can't wait to start taking classes about my major.

    Will enjoy being here

The campus is gorgeous and everyone is very friendly. The small-town atmosphere makes it feel like home, and the professors seem like they are willing to give help whenever it's needed.

    Bang for the buck

The small class sizes really make it worth it. Also, laundry is free, and you have an unlimited amount of copies. The dorms are nice too, and the food is great.

    Am learning a lot

Being in the physical therapy program is tough, but I have definitely learned a lot more compared to some of my friends from high school who went to large public schools. Luckily, the professors are always more than willing to help you and have lots of office hours. I have even used some of the information that I've learned at my part time job during breaks, which has definitely been helpful! Even though the courses can be tough, you still have plenty of social time and can meet a lot of nice people! Even though at first glance, the school may not seem socially diverse, it definitely is in it's own way. Everyone is different and that has definitely contributed to my overall learning experience so far. I wouldn't trade my experiences for anything!

    Am enjoying being here

The campus is a perfect size for me and for those who enjoy walking to wherever they need to be within 2 to 7 minutes. I love being able to walk to the gym and eat breakfast all before a 9 am or even 8 am class. Everything needed was pretty much right there on campus, which was perfect for not having a car on campus!

    Bang for the buck

Since LVC is a small liberal arts, private institution it of course is a bit more pricey than your average large, in state, public school. However, I believe with the 3 scholarships they offer based on your class rank during high school, surely you can get some kind of financial help. I think for the physical therapy program the price is definitely well worth it and will save you the headache of applying for graduate schools. This is of course if physical therapy is your calling and you can keep up with the high GPA requirements. Where there's a will, there's a way!

    Tips for prospective students

Try and contact your academic advisor as soon as possible, and build a relationship early - they'll be a valuable tool and resourse, as well as a friend. Also try to get involved with some on-campus organizations, because they are a great way to meet people and make connections.

    Academic Rigor

LVC is very challenging academically, but not to the point of being impossible. All of the professors challenge their students while providing the means to help them succeed.

LVC is one of the safest college campuses I've ever been on. The sense of community is great, and the Public Safety officers are only a phone call away.

LVC is a sturdy institution that provides everything students need and beyond. The academics and challenging and students will struggle but it is all worth it because you come out into the real world knowing what you are doing. The possibilities at LVC are endless.

    Tips for prospective students

Do not go in thinking that it will be just like high school. Academically, college is all around harder than high school but because LVC is a private institution it is even harder. Do not be afraid to use the resources provided. Study hard but also relax from time to time, college is not all studying.

    Academic Rigor

The classes are hard but as long as students study and get help when they need it, the possibilities are endless.

The dorms are fun, freshmen year roommates are not always great but making friends is part of the fun. The dorms are nice and it is easy to adjust.

LVC is a quaint little school that sits right in the middle of the small town of Annville. The academics are challenging, yet rewarding. Once you become a senior, you realize that your hard work paid off and you have learned a great deal more than you would at a public university.

    Tips for prospective students

Work hard from the start! Not only do a majority of the students enrolled at the college receive some form of scholarship, but a great many students pursue graduate studies that require a certain level of academic performance.

    Academic Rigor

The courses are tough and the teachers really try to challenge you. Even though you may not like it at the time, once you finish the courses you see how much you learned and you appreciate the push. Work hard and prepare to be challenged.

    Dorm Life

The dorms and suites are standard, they look like residence halls you would see at any other college. Resident students must live on-campus all 4 years unless granted special permission. The prices differ depending on the hall, but overall they are standard compared to other institutions.

    Food and Dining

The cafeteria was just remodeled so it looks very nice and more modern. Although it is small, it is only really crowded during peak lunch and dinner times. The food is comparable to any other small institution -- there are no chain restaurants or services. The hours are not the greatest and limit the times in which you can eat.

    What to do for fun

The school provides both free and paid trips to various places (NY, museums, amusement parks, theatre, white water rafting, etc.). In town there is not much to do besides go to several small eateries. Hershey is only a 15-20 minute drive away. On weekends, students basically hang out around campus in the residence halls.

    Bang for the buck

Even though many enrolled students receive 1/3-1/2 off tuition scholarships, the tuition is still pretty hefty compared to a public university. This being the case, I would suggest coming here only if the career you are pursuing will provide you with a salary that can pay off your loans. LVC is known for its high academic standards so it is definitely worth the money to attend this institution.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

Dutchmen Day is extremely popular among the students. This day occurs in the spring semester of the academic year. On this day, all classes are cancelled and the college provides students with a day of activities including blow-ups, tie-dying, raffles, and many others.

Great for these types of students

Students that desire a small-town feel, want to develop personal relationships with their teachers, develop friendships with many different kinds of people, and feel apart of a supportive community.

    Clubs and Activities

There are at least 80 clubs on campus and range from equestrian to chemistry to video games. You can join a club for almost anything you may be interested in. Also, it is really easy to start a club and gather support and members.

    Greek Life

There are several greek groups on campus. There are more sororities than fraternities, but they are pretty popular for belonging to such a small institution.

    Campus Safety

The campus is very safe. The public safety officers are very diligent and always make themselves available to help. The location itself is very suburban and surrounded by local families. There are also emergency callboxes everywhere.
