    Am learning a lot

You learn as much as you put into it.

    Am enjoying being here

Best college choice I could have made.

    Bang for the buck

Good education for a good price.

    Tips for prospective students

College is alot different than highschool, you actually have to study. Don't let that scare you because if you put in the right amount of effort, you will do well. Get involved in all the campus activities even if you think they sound or look dumb, you could end up making your closest friends there.

Great for these types of students

This college is great for students that want a medium classroom size, and it is a close compact campus. Sports teams aren't the biggest or the best but they are well known and each event is alot of fun and time well spent.

    Will learn a lot

I have enrolled in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. The Professors i have talked to are nice and know a lot about their subject.

    Will enjoy being here

The Town is not to big not to small. The atmosphere there is perfect for some one that wants a place that is a happy median between say a Chicago or a really small town. I have not been but I have lived in small 10 thousand people or less towns and in Chicago with several million. Springfield also has 110 thousand. So it was pretty easy to know what size town I wanted.

    Bang for the buck

Coming from IL the colleges and universities are quites expensive even for an in-stater like me. Marshall on the other hand even without Financial aid is cheaper. With a annual tuition that is less than 13 thousand.

    Tips for prospective students

Make sure to have you grades and test scores in order. It is important to know what your really want from a school as well. The reason is the number of schools wanting your attention can be very overwhelming. Start looking early one for schools and make sure they have you major. It makes the choice of you final few schools and ultimately the school you chose to go to much easier

Great for these types of students

Some one that want a great campus and faculty. That want to be able to watch a pretty fun sports team and finally have fun while still achieving at your goals in college.

    Am learning a lot

The classes and professors are amazing. Although some courses are very difficult, depending on major, the majority of professors are willing to dedicate their extra time in order for you to understand the material.

    Am enjoying being here

I absolutely LOVE Marshall. I honestly can't imagine going anywhere else. For my particular major, nursing, the courses are great. I'm truly learning a lot of valuable material that will help me in the long run.

    Bang for the buck

Cost was a huge deal for me. However, Marshall offers a great education for a great price.

    Tips for prospective students

Go to all of your classes. Although most classes are not mandatory, some professors will give extra notes and explain things more in depth. Also, don't wail until last minute to complete presentations or study. That will only cause more stress which in turn may not work out so great.

Great for these types of students

    Nursing Majors
    Music and Performance
    Pre-Med
    Pre-Pharmacy
    Med School
    Pre-Law
    Education
-just about everything is offered at Marshall...those are just a few examples of what my friends and I are majoring in.

marshall university excels at having great faculty, challenging curriculum, and a centralized campus. professors are challenging and create the programs to focus on more than memorization of material but also its application in real world jobs. with dorms and housing so close to campus its easy to be anywhere you need to be within just minutes of walking.

    Tips for prospective students

marshall offers many resources that can improve any individuals college experience. everything from a writing lab in the library to drop in workshop sessions are available. all you have to do is take advantage of the many opportunities available.

    Academic Rigor

college is what you make of it. that also includes the academic rigor of classes. when taken seriously classes will push you to synthesize the information learned throughout your entire collegiate experience to prepare you for the job market after graduation.

    Dorm Life

dorms are comfortable, relaxed, and extremely close to all campus activities. everything from classes, the gym, or social gathering spots are just minutes away when staying in a dorm. dorms also offer their own community to make study groups more accessible and study breaks more convenient.

    Food and Dining

marshall offers two dinning halls and a student center all of which the meal plan can be spent at. options vary, so those with allergies, special preferences, or a large appetite can all find what they are looking for.

    What to do for fun

you can go to sporting games, head over to the gym, meet up with some friends for a night on the town. go to pullman square and watch a movie or head to the student center to play some pool. there is plenty to do, you just have to go out and do it.

    Bang for the buck

marshall is one of the most affordable universities in the state and offers more than enough resources and attention to your academic and social needs.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

marshall university has a movie about our school. the plane crash, which is the premise of the movie, is still remembered at marshall every year by the fountain dedicated to the students and faculty in the crash.

Great for these types of students

it is really a great place for any time of student. there is a great range of different cultures and lifestyles. it is ok to be just who you are at marshall. though it is located on the boarder of wester virginia and kentucky, you will find people from all walks of life on campus.

    Am learning a lot

As it is with with everything in life you get as much as you put in. If you don't care and don't try then you won't learn anything. The more effort you put into it, the more you will learn. You also learn life lessons and are able to grow as a person as well.

    Am enjoying being here

I have met some of the most amazing people here. The campus is nice and you can always find something to do whether it is sponsored by the school or it is withing walking distance. The classes aren't over crowded and if you need help it is available.

    Bang for the buck

I think all college tuitions are insane. At least your money gets you a good education, a membership to a state of the arc gym, many free activities on campus, discounts at several local locations, and tickets to sports events and plays/ shows. The residence halls provide a good place to live and many opportunities to meet new people. Depending on your meal plan you have the option to eat at the student center and the many restaurants and drink shops with meal equivalence You can also use certain meal plans at the campus store. Of course there are the two cafeterias that offer a variety of food.

    Tips for prospective students

Get involved! Go to games and events sponsored by the school. Join clubs, fraternities, and/or sororities. If you are a student living on campus go to events sponsored by the dorms. They often have several a month. Talk to classmates and go to the student center. Having people to rely on is always a great thing. Make sure you have needed materials and even though it can sometimes be rough get some sleep. Be sure to study, do assignments, and actually go to class because that is the key to getting good grades. Get on good terms with the faculty and staff. If you need help don't be afraid to ask because somewhere on campus there is someone who can help you. Be sure to have fun and relax but don't go wild and let it effect your grades.

Great for these types of students

It is good for anyone really. It is culturally diverse and excepting of all races, genders, religions, and sexual orientations. The classes aren't very large about the size of a normal class in AA or AAA school. Well unless you have a lecture class and then they can be a little large but they are still not too big

    Am learning a lot

As a student you have no other choice but to learn about each and every course that you take. The professors I have taken thus far really knows their material and get students involved in every way possible. Not to mention very helpful: willing to take time after class and have one-on-one sessions with their students if for any reason they are not understanding the course work

    Am enjoying being here

Huntington is not big at all, honestly in order to really make the most of your experience here you must get involved in school activities. The city do not really have much to offer so it help a great deal

    Bang for the buck

You really do get more bang for your buck. Tuition is reasonable and with financial aid you may come out of pocket little to nothing( if anything at all). Marshall offer many types of scholarships so students can refrain from taking out loans

    Tips for prospective students

Go to class!! You pay for each day you are in class so don't waste your money. Get to know the faculty they are there to help you. Study the material, just when you think you know everything you can end up flunking major tests and exams. Get and stay involved in school functions and activities

Great for these types of students

Dedicated and diverse students, outgoing and those who don't mind living in very small cities. Students who are able to balance a social life while also able to stay focused on school work

    Am learning a lot

I am learning a lot. Three out of my five classes are involved in theater. In my Intro to Theater class, we are learning the different types of theater around the world. In my Intro to Costuming class, we are learning to sew and work on costumes. We are learning about the different aspects of it as a career. I got to work backstage on wardrobe crew for one of the plays. Wardrobe crew gets to do quick changes, repairs and laundry. We have the oppurtunity to go to the Humana Festival and Italy. In Italy, we get to learn about the different arts. As you can see, you get experience in and out of the classroom.

    Am enjoying being here

Before I came to college, I was worried that I would not like it. All of the thoughts going through my head were proved wrong. I have made new friends within the Theater Department. It is definitely worth the experience.

    Bang for the buck

You get what you pay for. Even though, it is a little expensive. They prepare you for what you will do in the future. I would reccomend it to anybody.

    Tips for prospective students

Stay involved in school. Make friends with the people in your department. Take your classes seriously and be there as much as you can. The classes I have involve you being in class. That is where you will learn how to do stuff. Don't take it so seriously that you are not having fun, though. There are classes you have to take, that you may not like and are not in your major, but you have to get through. You still want to do your best because if not it will reflect on your grades.

Great for these types of students
