Millersville Universities professor provide you with an the tools you need to succeed. The professors strive to build a relationship with you so that they get to learn the type of student that you are. Also because the classroom settings are small you get that chance to be seen as more than just another student. All of the text books are up to date and the resources are impeccable.

    Am enjoying being here

Millersville University is a great place to be. There is always something to do one campus and there is an organization for everyone. On Saturdays there are movies nights and mid night breakfast. The organizations are always having workshops that are always fun and beneficial. Tutoring is available for anyone who needs it and the library is very helpful. It is over all a great place to be.

    Bang for the buck

I see Millersville University as very helpful when it come to Financial Aid and scholarships. They provide you with all the resources you need to help you to not have to pay too much for school. The University also gives you a lot of money to attend if you have the grades.

    Tips for prospective students

To perspective students when you get to Millersville use all the resources that are offered to you. Do not be afraid to ask questions. If you start strong you will finish strong.

Great for these types of students

Millersville is great for all types of students. there is something for everyone there.

At Millersville the classes are very interesting. Some of them maybe larger, mostly the lectures, however the professors are all very friendly and more than willing to work with you if you have any questions.

    Am enjoying being here

As a new freshman I've learned the importance of getting out of your shell and embracing the college experience. Millersville is great for finding finding clubs, organizations and sports that you're interested in. The campus is very welcoming and is always open to new members.

    Bang for the buck

Overall the school gives you more than what you pay for. It's a state school so it's cheaper than that of private schools. It offers students a wide variety of educational opportunities that they may not have been aware of.

    Tips for prospective students

When applying to Millersville be sure to apply early and send in all of your paperwork as soon as possible.

If considering coming to Millersville be aware that there is serious construction going on that will take 10 years to finish all of the plans. Also the library will be completely closed for next year; something I'm sure they haven't mentioned on tours.

Great for these types of students

The school is excellent for any type of education major.

Millersville has a solid mix of professors. Some are excellent, and one can learn quite a bit from them. Other professors seem like they're just teaching the same exact things you've learned in high school (though that might be a credit to my high school, and it is possible to avoid these professors). Just be sure to ask around about professors before enrolling in classes.

    Am enjoying being here

This is a great environment. The University Activities Board lines up some great activities and entertainment for the school year, including popular movies that haven't even been released on DVD yet or talented musical artists. Millersville is close to Lancaster City, so it's only a (FREE!) bus ride away to enjoy the wealth of entertainment available within the city limits. There are plenty of clubs for everyone, and most people here are very friendly and down-to-earth.

    Bang for the buck

One of the cheaper schools out there, Millersville provides a wealth of opportunities. Just watch out for the possible budget changes due to Corbett.

    Tips for prospective students

Millersville likes extracurricular activities on the application. Include everything you have ever done, and you might get a nice scholarship in the deal!

Great for these types of students

    Pretty much everyone.

The Professors here are some of the best I've seen. I transferred in from another school, and the Professors are of a different quality at Millersville than I experienced before. There is a partnership between Millersville and Franklin and Marshall College, so the diversity of the classes and professors are extensive. I have seen classes here on so many different subjects, and the University regularly holds conferences with speakers on all different subjects, including conferences for Students to display their research. The amount of knowledge that is shared at Millersville is extremely valuable.

    Am enjoying being here

The campus is wonderful, and there's many activities to do. The only downside is the lack of a large, prominent city. While Lancaster has some activities to participate in, it is not a city for everyone. I really enjoy the campus and the local surroundings, and the campus will provide Friday night entertainment, but it can lack on activities for a Saturday afternoon.

    Bang for the buck

The tuition is a wonderful cost, compared to the rest of the Universities in the area. It's the meal plans and housing costs that can really kill you. The meal plans are priced horribly, with only a 79$ difference between having 14 meals a week, and 19 meals a week. It makes saving on money hard to do. The differences between triple occupancy rooms and single occupancy rooms are not too big, so if you're looking for a single, you'll be getting a deal, but if you're looking for a triple, you might as well just pay a little bit more to get a double.

    Tips for prospective students

Get an apartment as soon as possible. The off campus housing can be awesome, closely located, and affordable, and can cut your semester bill in half. It can save you a lot of money, and cut your costs drastically.

Great for these types of students

It's wonderful for the types of students that are looking to save money but not loose quality. It has all dynamics, whether you want to spend your weekend in the Fraternity houses, or a quiet night in your room or library. The Professors are top notch. It is not for Students who desire a large city nearby.

All of my classes are different and interesting. They're not too tough that you feel overwhelmed but be sure to go to every class or you will start to feel behind. The teachers are great and you have a lot of chances to get help or ask questions. A lot of my teachers have made it a point to get their email out there and make sure students know their office hours.

    Am enjoying being here

There's so much to do. The Student Center is under construction so there isn't as much (from what i've heard). The Student Activities Board has movies every Saturday night and some fridays. There's parties on the quad in the fall and spring.

    Bang for the buck

Get involved. There's so many things to do on campus and there's plenty of clubs. The more you get involved with, the more people you'll get to know! Go to all your classes and your professors will help you out. I transferred in and got to know my art teachers (I'm an art major) and the head of the department helped me get my classes by doing overrides and saving spots in one of the classes that fills up fast. There's so many opportunities for every major.

    Tips for prospective students

Go to class, get to know your professors, don't be on their bad side, it'll make your life hell. If you have a question, ask! Most teachers email back right away! If you need help, go to their office hours. Get to know people in your class, it's a good way to make friends and when it comes to studying or being confused with an assignment, it'll save your life!

Great for these types of students

Looking to go to a great state school. If you're looking to be a teacher, Millersville is the best school in the state for teachers. It started off as a teacher school and eventually started offering other majors. It's great for other majors as well, I'm an art major and the teachers are very experienced in their fields. It's a smaller school so the campus isn't overwhelming. At Millersville, everything's one a more personal level. The teachers get to know you by name and the classes aren't huge, unless you're in a lecture, but even then it's not too huge.

    Will learn a lot

From what I have heard the school offers and excellent education. This is an especially great school for anyone trying to get into the education field. With how teaching jobs are changing now this is a good school to head to!

    Will enjoy being here

The campus is beautiful. It is under constriction so right now it's not as pretty as hoped, but it is still pretty much looking. Also the ducks there are like on steroids they are huge and friendly so watch out walking by the pond with foods!
I would watch the dorms. Even though most dorms aren't very nice these are very institution rooms. Make sure to bring lots to decorate!

    Bang for the buck

The schooling has about and average tuition rate for in state students. It seems like it would be worth the money paid.

    Tips for prospective students

Make sure you research all of your possible school choices, but Millersville is a pretty good choice.

Great for these types of students

Students going to school for any kind of teaching degree.

The academics are great here. I learned so much in my first year and I'm pleased with my choice of Millersville. The classes aren't too big so one-on-one meetings with teachers are easy to do and they will certainly help with getting better grades.

    Am enjoying being here

The school is awesome, the people are great, and the teachers know exactly what they are doing. Even though it seems like you're in the middle of nowhere you can always find something to do. The mall, the movie theater, the city of Lancaster, and the train station is just a bus drive away.

    Bang for the buck

The cost of attending Millersville is very cheap compared to surrounding schools which is why I think this is such a great school they give you everything you need to have fun and succeed.

    Tips for prospective students

Make sure you get off to a great start int eh first semester. It's very easy to get caught up in the college life but its also extremely hard to get your GPA up after a bad first semester.

Great for these types of students

This school is great for all students who wish to pursue a career in teaching. The education program is very strong here and you can feel a strong emphasis on academics.

I am a Chemistry major, and i must say that the Professors in this department know what they are doing and are very willing to help students to get a better understanding for the material.

    Am enjoying being here

I greatly enjoy being at Millersville University. There are so many good people and fun events, activities, and groups available to be joined.

    Bang for the buck

I am having a lot of fun at Millersville University, but since I from New Jersey I am paying out of state tuition fee. In state would cost about 13,000 a year but out of state pays 23,000 a year. It is very expensive if one is not from Pennsylvania.

    Tips for prospective students

Advice for future students would be to make sure one remembers why they are in college. It's okay to go to a party or two, but do not get caught up in it because before one realizes it their grades will slip beyond the point of repair for the semester.

Great for these types of students

This school is great for students who are focused and self-driven, and know exactly what they want to get from the University.

    Provides a challenge.
    Has a great community.
    I love the campus.

    Tips for prospective students

Do your best to stay ahead, DO NOT procrastinate!
If you ask your professors for help, most of the professors I have come across here are committed to helping students.

    Academic Rigor

Definitely some challenging courses, I haven't been to an Ivy league before, but I sure do feel challenged like I'm in one. I love the challenge because it allows me to feel a sense of achievement!

    Dorm Life

I would not say it is the best, but it isn't the worst. You can be sure that it is a safe environment, which can also make it a boring at times. Policies are enforced well.

    Food and Dining

There is nothing like a home cooked meal, but when you don't have that, this food does the job. The food is pretty good in the dining halls.

    What to do for fun

There is the Park City Mall which is only a bus ride away! Students also love hanging out at the near by pizzeria called The Sugar Bowl. In Lancaster City there is always something fun you can find. I would recommend the Manor plaza, after enjoying some yofro you can enjoy a movie across the plaza!

    Bang for the buck

Millersville is a state school so the price isn't too bad either compared to what the school offers.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

The Swans on campus are a big thing, just don't bother then, they aren't very friendly.

Great for these types of students

I would say it's all about where you best fit in. Millersville Campus is very diverse.

    Clubs and Activities

There are plenty of clubs to fit whatever your interest is : Animu club, Sola, BSU, Allies,UAB, as well as Student Senate. These are just some of the clubs that provide great activities for students to participate in allowing them to meet new people.

    Greek Life

There are so many Greek groups on campus and it is a great experience to see the crossing-over of new members!

    Campus Safety

For the most part I saftey doesn't seem to be an issue, but I would say our procedures could use a little more work.

Millersville is that school thats not too large but not too small, it really is the perfect size for any student. Most of the professors are highly educated and interested in only one thing, their students. The campus is beautiful and the students are hard working but fun.

    Tips for prospective students

Learn to get your work done early, the earlier you get your work done the more fun you can have with friends in the quad on a nice day or later on somewhere else during the weekend. Don't stress, relax you will be fine if you work hard. Don't underestimate any class, you'd be surprised what college tests and exams are like.

    Academic Rigor

The professors are very strict, you MUST attend class. We are one of the few colleges that requires attendance. Our professors are very educated and prove it in their lecture and classroom discussions, do not under estimate their exams.

    Dorm Life

The dorms are ehh, if you are a freshmen or sophmore you might be required to live in them. Burrowes is a dump in all honesty, but it is close to campus which is nice. Bard is really nice, but far away from campus. My advice is after a year or two try to find an apartment or house off campus. Should not be hard, there are tons.

    Food and Dining

The Upper Deck is really the main place to eat, the food is up and down, it all depends on the day. But for those who are picky eaters should not be worried they have a lot to choose from. The Anchor which is below is kind of like our schools own mini-seven eleven. You can buy any assortment of snacks, or actual foods here to bring back to your dorm rooms.

    What to do for fun

Millersville is very well know for its sports teams and clubs. We have seemingly everything, baseball, football, soccer, volleyball, rugby, lacrosse. And if you are more interested in clubs we have tons of those as well. Not good enough to make a team? Thats fine we have intramural sport leagues that go on every year. Millersville is also up to its neck in Greek life.

    Bang for the buck

Millersville gives everything a student could ask for, great teachers, a beautiful campus, calm understanding administrators, a beautiful campus, and plenty to do in between classes. Do you get more bang for your buck? Of course, but you have got to go out and experience this bang in order for you to understand it.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

The Campus is next to Lancaster city which of course means you are near Amish country, but its very close to the local mall. Our school has a big name musical artist come to our campus every spring for a spring concert, and students normally get to go for free or a small fee.

Great for these types of students

Millersville is great for any student. But really for a student who wants to learn a ton from a bunch of great teachers, and at the same time wanna have fun.

    Clubs and Activities

This is where Millersville shines the most, our clubs are doing something everyday, and if you look hard enough you can always find something to do. Our sports teams and club sports are very well known, and we have recently been to NCAA final four in D2 soccer, our Rugby team has a winning tradition, and has recently won the Philly College cup, these of course are just a few small examples.

    Greek Life

While I am not involved in Greek life I do know that we have many sororities and fraternities. I believe ASA and TKE are the biggest names on campus, but all the Greek institutions are like other clubs constantly working to better our school and better our community

    Campus Safety

It is very rare you hear about anything negative happening on campus or even off. Our campus security are very fair and understanding, but they get the job done when things get serious. The administration posts bulletins and sends emails if anything serious occurs on campus immediately, and their are many safety posts all around campus just in case. If their is one thing I have never felt at Millersville, even at 3 am and that is fear for my own safty. Millersville is very safe and very secure as a University

Millersville University is a school where you are more than just another face in the class. Since the university is a smaller school, there are more opportunities to build your future. As a whole I would say Millersville University truly has the students' future in mind and is willing to provide the tools to succeed.

    Tips for prospective students

It is unfortunate that the campus currently does not have a library due to full renovations on the facility so it is the student's responsibility to find a productive study space. I would also recommend getting involved. I am about to study abroad through a MU program and it is the best decision I've made for my future. If you don't want to go abroad, then get involved in campus activities.

    Academic Rigor

Classes usually have a moderate difficulty level. Some of the difficulty comes from the professors themselves rather than the content of the course. However, the professors that I have had at MU have always been willing and eager to help if you aren't understanding the material.

    Dorm Life

I commute to Millersville University so I am not familiar with the dorm life.

    Food and Dining

MU could have a few dining options from outside sources rather than just all dining halls. I know other universities have contracts with various chain restaurants giving the students some options throughout the school year.

    What to do for fun

Millersville isnt far from downtown Lancaster which offers a variety in art, shopping, and dining choices.

    Bang for the buck

I mean, if the tuition keeps increases due to budget cuts, there really won't be a whole lot of bang for your buck.

millersville university might be located in the most rural of settings, but there is a dedication there by the faculty and students that is visible by anyone who has happened by the campus. it is a truly spirited campus and anyone who comes here will feel welcome and it certainly is a learning environment where education comes first above all. on whatever scale i am rating millersville university on, i would put it at the top of the list because it promotes learning in a great environment.

    Tips for prospective students

students should really focus on their school work here. the partying might be fun, but it is always short lived and students are not paying thousands of dollars to go to school and party. students are paying for an education, so why waste it? it's not worth maybe losing your degree and reputation to get drunk for a night. i would also tell students to learn how to balance fun and studying. plus have fun in a positive way. not a destructive way that may hurt yourself or someone else.

    Academic Rigor

the programs here are very difficult, but not too hard for students to handle. students are challenged to think critically and outside of the box. there are very few professors who only wish for their students to fail.

    Dorm Life

dorm life here is very fun. you feel like you are part of a large community and students feel at home. they will make the best of friends here and most of them are the people they live near. the dorms provide amusement on the weekends and other programs to bring people together.

    Food and Dining

millersville's food may not be the best in the world, but it always hits the spot. when some food tastes delicious, other items may not be as scrumptious.

    What to do for fun

millersville has a few programs on the weekends. it's called ville after dark and they normally play videos and movies on the weekends in addition to playing games out on the quad. there have been several dances and there are a few parties and open mic nights. ville after dark will be hosting a laser tag party and mini golf this spring.

    Bang for the buck

millersville is in a good location. it is surrounded by fields so there is some scenery. however, it is located near a mall and there are free bus services that will transport you to the mall. also the bus will take you to lancaster where there are always things to do.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

the campus is located around a large pond. everyone goes to the pond to read, relax, or enjoy the birds that live in the pond. the most majestic of these birds are the swans that live there. their names are miller and s'ville. noone knows which swan is which so whichever swan is on the left is miller and the other is s'ville.

Great for these types of students

millersville is great for students who want a smaller school and they want that sense of community you get from a small school. it is located in a rural area and it is very peaceful.

    Clubs and Activities

there are numerous clubs and activities for everyone here. from clubs for those with differring sexual orientations to those who want to play a sport that is not offered.

    Greek Life

Not too far and not too close to the city and anything that may be needed. A variety of classes, people, and professors. Great grounds for sports or just enjoying nature.

    Tips for prospective students

Make sure that you visit the school and check it out first. You don't know what the perfect school is until you actually see it, but it is smart to look up other students reviews and what they have to say about it. If you can, sit in on some classes that you may be interested in taking and meet professors.

    Academic Rigor

It depends on the professor really. There are the basics that most professors follow, but each brings in their own personality and interpretation of the rules. Some professors seem harder while others more lenient. The basic rules of Millersville, when professors follow them to a T, hold you accountable to your own work. I think that they are fair, harder compared to highschool, but this is college now.

    Dorm Life

It depends on which dorm you are in. Each dorm has its own personality and depending on what you are like, will help you determine which dorm is best for you. Freshman year I chose to be in a freshman only dorm and I found that it was a great decision. I was introduced to about 100 other students who where on the same step in college life as I was. It gave me the opportunity to make friends for all of my college life. No matter what dorm you are in you will always have those neighbors who are loud and disruptive. Some GA's and RA's are pretty strict. But overall dorm life is pretty good.

    Food and Dining

The Galley is the best place on campus to eat. It recently was redone and is now open from breakfast to dinner. Most students on campus would agree that it's the best. The Upper Deck is the main all you can eat cafe, if you're a picky eater it may be hard for you to find something to eat, even though there are a lot of options. There is always a cereal bar, salad bar, waffle maker, and bread toaster open. The grilles and other stations change depending on what meal it is. You have four meal time during the day and you are only allowed to use one meal during that time. This fact is sometimes annoying, but we are given a flex plan that allows us to use the money for anything at anytime.

    What to do for fun

Millersville usually always has something to do. There is the gym and the classes that are given (yoga, zumba, bootcamps). There is also multiple dances groups. On weekends there is free movies (New and old). There is also a free bus (only for millersville students) that takes you into the city (Lancaster) and they also always have something going on, specially during the warmer months. There is also a bus that take you to park city mall and the stores/restaurants near there. There are benches and open grass around campus to sit/lay out on when it's warm. There is also a pond that students go to and feed the ducks. The art building is always open and has galleries set up 24/7 for students to enjoy. With so many groups and activities everyone can find something to do.

    Bang for the buck

It depends on what you thing is bang for the buck. Personally I love the fact that my education is just as good as a private school but at the price of a states school. I love the newly renovated gym as well, it's free to all students and has so many options in it. I don't have to pay to go to the gym and it's open at great hours.

Great for these types of students

Nearly everyone. The university is an adaptable school. There is something for everyone to enjoy.

    Greek Life

I'm not personally in any greek groups but my roommate is and I know some people that are. We do have those groups that are the stereotypical sorority/fraternity. They drink all day and night and haze the newbies. But there are also the groups that do not use degrading methods to initiate students. If you know what you are looking for I'm sure that you can find it in the greek life. Just make sure that you check out all of the groups and learn all that you can of each one so that you can find which is the perfect match.

    Campus Safety

There are blue posts around the school. They are call centers to the millersville police and they can be called at anytime. So if a student is walking late at night (for any reason) and they do not find it is safe they can page the police and an officer will walk them to their dorm or apartment.
