Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot The professors are extremely helpful and accomodating. Many of them leave in Ada and don't mind making time for students individually. Class sizes are around 30, which is benefitial.
Am enjoying being here You meet tons of fun people from all over. It is a smaller campus, so everyone knows everyone, which makes it just like your hometown.
Bang for the buck I am in the pharmacy program, and it is one of the best in the nation. ONU has an extremely high pass percentage on the boards, which is comforting to students.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot Professors at ONU take an incredibly hands-on approach to teaching. Their dedication and support can't be ignored, helping students to achieve excellence and find their True North.
Am enjoying being here Students, faculty, and staff at ONU are warm and welcoming from the moment you step foot on campus. No matter where you go, you will be greeted with a smile and a helping hand. The small school atmosphere makes it hard to not enjoy your time here...you are sure to run into a friend around every corner!
Bang for the buck It can't be denied that ONU is an expensive private school, but don't let that discourage you! Financial Aid is readily available and the quality degree programs are well-worth the investment.
Tips for prospective students Get involved as soon as you reach campus! Ada is a small community, but once you meet friends and participate in campus organizations, you will forget that you are surrounded by corn fields!
Great for these types of students ONU is great for students who are looking for personalized education and a tight-knit campus community. The university has top-ranking pharmacy, engineering, and business colleges. There are also many unique degree programs, such as a 6-year Pharm D, Pharmaceutical Business, Forensic Accounting, and Forensic Biology.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot I am only a freshmen, so most of my classes are sort of repetitive. However, I have learned alot.
Am enjoying being here Ohio Northern has some of the best peole around. Everyone is friendly and the lady at the cafeteria always knows your name. The professors are always happy to help. The campus is beautiful and even though Ada is very sparse, I like being here on weekends.
Bang for the buck I would say this only if you get a scholarship. If you are paying the whole 45K a year, then no it is not worth it. But just about any scholarship nets you a very managable payment, only a little higher than the state schools in the area. With the quality and people, I would say that it is definately worth it.
Tips for prospective students Apply for the school scholarships such as the presidential, dean scholarships. These can pay up to half of your expences.
Great for these types of students Hard workers.

Categories Rating Comments Bang for the buck kinda expensive
Tips for prospective students Don't be put off by the small town of Ada. ONU is an amazing school, especially if you want to go into pharmacy.
Great for these types of students Students in the top of their class looking into engineering or pharmacy who don't need a big city to stay occupied.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences Ohio Northern is strong, both academically and athletically. They have pretty tough classes, but professors are fair. Professors are very passionate about their jobs, and the material they are teaching.
Tips for prospective students Work hard from the very beginning. Start freshman year off strong, the harder you work then, the easier it will be the rest of your college career.
Academic Rigor Classes are pretty tough often times. They are definitely more challenging than most public schools.
Dorm Life There are public bathrooms for freshman, but after freshman year you have your own, or you share it with your roommate. Each year the dorm you can stay in improves. Dorms are a little small, at first, but you are by no means cramped.
Food and Dining There are a number of different dining options, so usually you will be able to find something that suits you. The main cafeteria serves decent food. You get 21 meal swipes a week, which can be difficult to use all of them. Additionally you get 250 points, which you can use at various locations on campus or in town.
What to do for fun There are a few dining establishments in Ada. Also, Findlay and Lima are about a 20 minute drive and there is quite a bit to do in those cities. There is a bowling alley about 5 minutes away from campus, and a movie theater within walking distance.
Bang for the buck I would say tuition is a little high for what we get. However, many changes are being made on campus, so it is understandable that fees start to rise.
Clubs and Activities There are quite a few clubs on campus. At the beginning of the school year there is this an event called Welcomefest. All of the clubs and organizations are there and hand out free stuff.
Campus Safety There is security that is patrolling at all times. Additionally, there are emergency buttons placed throughout campus.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences Campus is really nice and there's always something to do here, meaning there are always events being planned for everyone to enjoy. The professor's are amazing and they actually have experience in what they are teaching so that makes them more knowledgable about your perspective field.
Tips for prospective students Make sure you visit, some people don't realize it's in the middle of nowhere. Make sure you bring clothes for all kinds of weather, especially rainboots because it rains often.
Academic Rigor The professor's are nice and fun. They also know what they're talking about since they are required to have work experience in their field of teaching.
Dorm Life So much fun! Since it's a small college you make friends fast. The freshman dorms are beautiful and spacious (for the most part).
Food and Dining Greasy, but once you dab the grease off when it's really is greasy it's really good. I feel like they close too early on the weekends, but you can spend your points at the convenience store in the Affinity apartments and get food there earlier in the week.
What to do for fun There's always an event being planned for students to take part in. There's also plenty of organizations to become involved with. You can also get a group of friends together and go to Lima or the Ada movie theatre or even just walk around the beautiful Ohio Northern campus.
Bang for the buck It's a tad expensive, but that's because of the electricity bill. I'd say it's well worth the money, because the financial aid office really lowers the price so you can afford to come here.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Mud Volleyball at the beginning of the year is always fun and so is Greekapalooza. Greekapalooza is when you meet all of the sororities and fraternities and they normally have inflatibles and refreshments for everyone to enjoy.
Great for these types of students It's good for students who want to become involved with their campus and not want to be just a number. It's also good for students who think that they would be overwhelmed by a larger campus, because we are a really small school.
Clubs and Activities There's something for everyone here and if there isn't something here that peaks your interest you can start your own club. The various clubs and activities introduce you to all kinds of people that will soon become your very close friends.
Greek Life We have the standard Greek life on campus but we also have other social fraternities and sororities and we have honors ones for specific majors to join. All the Greeks get along and there's no hazing when you're going through rush.
Campus Safety Campus is very safe. Ada is a safe town and that aspect of safety comes into Ohio Northern. Both police forces make sure everyone is safe.
