    Will learn a lot

I believe I will learn a lot a this school. They have a great nursing program which will allow me to leave there with an associate degree and I will do on and further my education.

    Will enjoy being here

I will enjoy being here because I know a lot of people that attend this college, and they have a swimming pool, not a swim team but I love to swim. I plan on taking advantage of having a pool,

    Bang for the buck

This school is a 2 year community college but your practically paying nothing to go to school compared to universities. I don't plan on taking out any loan which means no stress of paying off loans. I could be saving to go on to a university. Ya!!!

    Tips for prospective students

This is a great opportunity and anyone and everyone should take advantage of it. Just think no stressful loans for at least two years.

Great for these types of students

All students are this schools type of students. Check it out they don't refuse anyone and that's the kind of school I want to be enrolled in.

    Am learning a lot

This upcoming semester, I will be working in the campus radio station. It will be for class credits which is three. In the past years, I have learned to do television broadcasting, working in front and behind the cameras and in the control room.

    Am enjoying being here

I enjoy being at Florissant Valley Community College because it's the only community college in Missouri that has a radio station.

    Bang for the buck

Florissant Valley offers financial aid for me to help me pay for classes which comes out to be very convient.

    Tips for prospective students

This is a great opportunity and anyone and everyone should take advantage of it. Just think no stressful loans for at least two years.

Great for these types of students

Students with the interest of media studies and nursing, Florissant Valley is a great school to study those particular programs.

    Am learning a lot

The kinds of classes taught on this campus are diverse and challenging for the curriculum provided. No blow-off classes here; any class you take will give you a unique learning experience.

    Am enjoying being here

The college is a warm, intimate place for both learning and being with fellow students. There is always something happening in the student center and the school has the occasional full-campus event that lets students interact with other students and teachers and other colleges.

    Bang for the buck

If you qualify for the Pell Grant, you can easily pay for your classes and fees and materials for every semester. The teachers provide the best-priced books in the store because they know students have enough to buy without overspending on textbooks.

    Tips for prospective students

Get to know the campus beforehand so you won't get lost on your first day! Also, get chummy with your teachers so that they are more understanding if something goes wrong. Apply for your OneCard as soon as you register so your Pell Grant refund can get to you asap.

Great for these types of students

Great for people who work part-time or weird hours, have children, have special needs or are ESL, live close to a MetroBus route, or want to be able to fit their class schedule around their social schedule.

    Bang for the buck

Yep as long as if you keep going to your classes financial aide will help you. Also keep taking classes that pertain to your major. Save those elective classes for your interests.

    Tips for prospective students

monday thru thursday is your typical week at Flo. Go to class everyday.
*Get to know your teachers, if you like them enough see if they also teach another class that you might need. Many teachers at flo teach more than one class.

Florissant Valley is a very decent school. I believe the teachers are very good at what they do and the campus is very well kept up. I have no complaints about this school.

    Tips for prospective students

Before any person begins college to pursue a degree they need to make a career path. Be sure you know what direction you want to go and check to see if credits will transfer, if needed. Take career exploration classes if you are unsure of the specific path you want to go.

    Academic Rigor

Academically speaking Florissant Valley is great. The teachers are able to speak about concepts that make sense to the student and are willing to help if needed.

    Dorm Life

Florissant Valley does not have dorms.

Personally I have not ate in Florissant Valley's cafeteria, however it smells good. I have however heard mixed reviews on it. Florissant Valley does have tons of vending machines to make food and drinks more accessible and convenient.

    What to do for fun

Florissant Valley has many clubs that you may join. Not to mention they are always doing special events. Some are even free! There are plays, and movies to enjoy, and so much more.

    Bang for the buck

Florissant Valley is definitively more bang for your buck. If there are classes that you need to take and will/can be transferred go to Florissant Valley. In the long run you will save so much money.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

I personally have yet to encounter any unusual traditions or locations on campus.

    Clubs and Activities

The Clubs and Activities at Florissant Valley are amazing. I personally am in Phi Theta Kappa and love it! There are so many things you can do and participate in.

    Campus Safety

I love the campus security. It's nice to know that someone is always watching and is available to help, if needed. There are telephones located everywhere on campus to contact campus security if a problem arises.

I enjoy Florissant Valley because it sets the foundation for your college starts and helps you make the right decisions for the next college you will attend. Teachers not only care about you but they also help guide you in the right direction. Also they place resources around you to help you succeed such as the career centers, the writing lab and math labs where they help you in these areas and the African American Male Initiative where there goals are to help young African American males succeed.

    Tips for prospective students

I would encourage students to come to not just come to school and leave but locate these resources and get involved. The clubs on campus helps you in the long run. Also, build relationships with your teachers and it will greatly benefit you because not only will they help you in the class but outside the class. The professor's teaching the classes have experience in the areas they are teaching and can help you network and get into the career field you want to go in.

    Academic Rigor

If you study and build a relationship with the professors then you will be fine.
