Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot The staff is mostly knowledgeable and small class sizes allow students to get to know their professors. Southern New Hampshire University isn't the most challenging school, but students can end a semester knowing they gained some knowledge.
Am enjoying being here The school can be enjoyable if you get involved in clubs or a sports team. The campus is small, but there's plenty to do in the surrounding Manchester/Hookset area.
Bang for the buck As a private school, SNHU is more expensive than its public counterparts. Some professors are extremely knowledgeable, while others read the from the text book as if they never taught the course before. The dining hall is on the expensive side for the quality of the food and service provided.
Tips for prospective students Make sure to build up your resume. SNHU gives out merit scholarships based on grades and extracurricular activities. When on a tour, don't just look at the brand new, nice looking buildings put up along the main road. Walk around the campus and take a look at the older buildings. Look into the quality of your program.
Great for these types of students Business majors, culinary majors, and hospitality majors. Students who want a smaller campus with smaller class sizes.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot I would definately say I am learning alot! The pofessors at SNHU really get to know you in class so if you have a question, or miss understand something they are very easy to reach, and they know who you are! At the begining of each semester you are provided with your professors email address and phone number as well as office hours so you can reach them with in minutes!
I am a Sophomore at SNHU and i would say i have already learned more than i feel i did in High School, the courses they set out for students to take are really very important and you feel like your being educated when your in class!Am enjoying being here I love being at SNHU, the environment is great! The clubs on campus really put on alot of activities and chances to meet other students, and on campus generally everyone is really nice!
Bang for the buck Even though tuition was raised a little this year, i still feel as if it is my best opportunity, and i really am getting what i pay for!
Tips for prospective students Visit campus so that you can get a feel for the dorms, they are all so different! Also check with your high school guidance counselor to see if there are any special programs your high school is doing with SNHU.
Great for these types of students I am a commuter so SNHU is great for that! I get 2,000 dollars to commute and I am still in all of the activities on and off of campus!
SNHU is also great if you live on campus, everything ia really close and the dorms are very clean and the staff is great to work with!Login to rate or flag the reviews

Categories Rating Comments Will learn a lot I have sat in on classes at Southern New Hampshire University and have learned information that I had not known prior to sitting in on the classes. With that being said, I have talked to the head of the math department at SNHU and he said I will have to repeat math classes to earn my math credits since I have already taken all college level math classes that are offered at SNHU during my high school career. I am disappointed that they do not have higher level math classes but know I will still learn a lot in other subjects.
Will enjoy being here When I did my overnight for lacrosse, my host showed me what it would be like to live on the SNHU campus this coming fall. In the 24 hours I was there for, I did numerous different things and was never bored. There's a huge mall nearby with every store and restaurant you could think of, plenty of things to do on campus, and, of course, several parties. The location is also great. It is close to many big cities (45 minutes from Boston), several beaches, and the mountains (for the skiers and snowboarders out there). You'll also have access to public transportation so that you can access all of the above places. Trust me, you will never be bored!
Bang for the buck With SNHU being a private college, you would expect it to be more expensive than it actually is. SNHU's tuition for boarding students is about $38,000 a year, whereas most private colleges range from $40,000-$60,000 a year for boarding students. Although SNHU's tuition is $38,000, they provide a large sum of financial aid and scholarship money. In the end, my tuition for the year ended up being about $10,000! For a private university, you'll get a lot for your money here.
Tips for prospective students Even though I mentioned lowering my tuition from $38,000 to $10,000, it doesn't come that easily. If you work hard in high school and make your application and transcript look excellent, that is how you'll obtain a large amount in scholarships. So, work hard in high school and take challenging classes so that you catch the attention of the admissions staff!

Categories Rating Comments Am enjoying being here I am an online student at SNHU and I really do enjoy it. I do not know if it offers anything unique because it is all based on the Blackboard online platform. The instructors are from all over. I will continue online at SNHU until I finish my Associates of Science in Marketing. The admissions and advising faculty members are great!
Great for these types of students Online (that's all I know about!)

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences I give Southern New Hampshire University an excellent rating, five stars out of five stars. I feel at home here and have little financial, academic, or social worries. Southern New Hampshire University does an outstanding job at building communities and guiding go-getters to achieve their goals.
Tips for prospective students One of my tips is to visit your professors during their office hours and to utilize all facilities and resources once you are a college student. It is important to apply for scholarships ahead of time too. Another thing to look into is if you have work study on your award letter and to apply for positions early online.
Academic Rigor Academics are so important here that there is walk-in hours for tutoring, library reference help, and free one-on-one tutoring if you need it. The honors program is great for students who like a challenge!
Dorm Life The cleanliness is outstanding. The Wellness housing has been a blessing by bringing me a safe, drug and alcohol free, and quiet living space where I feel comfortable.
Food and Dining The food here is amazing and there is a great variety! There is options for everyone, even if you have allergies, like a gluten-free allergy. The food is fresh and hot as it is made as you order it.
What to do for fun Personally I play bingo, attend campus events, do community service work, go to free movies, spend time with a few clubs, play soccer just for fun, hang out at the pub (fooseball, pool, a piano, and free food!), watch sports games, and do zumba!
Bang for the buck SNHU is worth the cost. I highly value my education here.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus It is a little unusual that we have an art gallery on campus but it is really cool! We had a ceremony as incoming freshmen which involved bagpipes, but it was interesting.
Great for these types of students SNHU is great for go-getters-people who have goals and want help achieving them. It is great for students who like small, close knit communities and for those who like to feel important and known on a more individual level.
Clubs and Activities If you like sports, there is clubs for that. If you want to meet people in your major, there are clubs for a lot of majors. If have a passion to help others and volunteer, there is a place for you too; you know it is good when you can start your own club to pursue an interest or goal you have.
Campus Safety When I lost my keys, Public Safety was here for me. They can walk you home if is late at night and you are afraid. There are also emergency phones and buttons in a few common places on campus in case of emergencies.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences I really enjoy attending this school. I receive a quality education in a comfortable environment. I feel that this is the perfect school for me.
Tips for prospective students If you like a small community with a lot of individual attention this is a good school for you.
Academic Rigor I learn a lot in my classes and the teachers don't let you fall behind but at the same time they don't let you get easy A's.
Dorm Life I enjoy life on dorms because it is small enough where it is comfortable but not so small that it's always boring.
Food and Dining The food is good, there could be more variety and your meal plan goes quickly because the food is pricey.
What to do for fun There are always activities going on around campus which makes it very fun and also since its a small school all of your friends live close by.
Bang for the buck SNHU is everything that I wanted it to be and more.
Great for these types of students All types of students, we have a pretty diverse campus for a small school in New Hampshire.
Campus Safety The campus is very safe, public safety is always around and available. I feel safe walking around alone all hours of the night.

Applying to the college was a breeze, everyone I spoke to was friendly, helpful and informative. The college goes beyond the typical learning and keeps students in a family oriented environment. Categories Rating Comments In three sentences Small campus equals small classes and more personal attention from professors. Located in Southern New Hampshire, allowing students to experience the wonderful seasons that occur within the state. Location of the school is perfect with access to the highway 3 minutes away and still quiet from the woods that surround it.
Tips for prospective students Do not overly pack. Only bring enough clothes for about 2-3 weeks; chances are most of the clothes will not be worn. Also, keep in mind that the school is located within New Hampshire and that the winter can be cold, so bring proper attire for those mornings where it may be 5 degrees.
Academic Rigor Professors always expect the students to walk away from their class and actually have learned something. Especially if the class pertains to the students major, the professors want to make sure the material is understood and grasped.
Dorm Life typically the dorms are very close. students tend to not only make friends from their classes, but students that live on the same floor tend to become some sort of family and form close friendships. The dorm rooms are not tiny, but they also are not overly large. There is plenty of space for two people to share, as long as one of them does not overly pack.
Food and Dining Catered by Sodexo, the food is pretty good for college. There are 5-6 stations that stay the same each night, but with plenty of options to mix it up and one station that has a special each weekday night. The only downside is that you pay for each item you eat, so if you buy a chicken sandwich with fries, you will pay for the chicken sandwich and the fries. Students do not get a certain amount of meals per week they can use; students have are given a specific amount of money that dwindles as the students buy food.
What to do for fun being so close to the highway, students can go south to the Mall of New Hampshire, Salem, Boston (within 1 hour), or students can go north where they have the lakes region and the white mountains. There are also nightclubs in downtown Manchester, and a movie theater 3 minutes away.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Students go all out for St. Patrick's Day
Clubs and Activities there are plenty of clubs for any student to find some interest in. If there is not a club that a student is interested in, they can create a new club that will allow for more diverse options.
Greek Life not much. 3 sororities and 3 fraternities.
Campus Safety Safety buttons located all around campus. Public Safety (name of campus safety) is constantly driving around, so there is typically someone around.

Academic Rigor i did not have the opportunity given to me to prepare for college i am 23 years old trying now to get an education. what i would say to students is give it your all! reach out to any resource that you have available to you walk in tutoring, and study groups also feel free to ask your professor if he or she has anytime to go over materials that you don't understand. make connections with students on campus if they are good in a class you are not so strong in students are willing to help if they can, plus making life time connections is important who knows maybe a friend you make now will help you get a job years down the road so don't be shy get out there an make friends.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences I have enjoyed my time here. I love the friends I have made here and liked all my professors.
Tips for prospective students Stay on track, keep up the work, it is easy to fall behind for some classes.
Academic Rigor Feel like I am getting a good education.
Dorm Life I live in New Castle, known as the party dorm. I am not a partier or drinker but have to pay damage fees on things that drunks or irresponciable students break. The room is very nice and bigger than other dorms. The majority of the people on my floor are very nice, but very loud espicially after quiet hours. The RA does not inforce quiet hours. I plan to switch to Wellness Housing next year. I have many friends in Wellness Housing, they like the dorm very much and when I have visited it is much quietier and quiet hours are inforced.
Food and Dining Better than I thought, good amount of choices, always has some sort of burgers, pasta, and pizza out along with multiple different choices.
What to do for fun Hang out with friends, go to soccer game, racketball, movies, etc.
Bang for the buck Expensive college, but give a good amount of financial aid. Amount of financial aid only reason I could go to this school.
Clubs and Activities I am in American Sign Language Club, I have enjoyed it very much.
Campus Safety I feel very safe on campus during the day and night. The campus is very well lit at night.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot Professors here are great! They really know what they're teaching. I've found that almost all of my professors genuinely enjoy their jobs. They care about your education, and will do their best to make you learn lots!
Am enjoying being here SNHU is a very nice school. It has a fairly small campus, which is great because you can walk anywhere in 5 minutes (to and from academic buildings; I'm a commuter so I'm not sure exactly how far everything is from all the residence halls). They have a very nice dining hall, and the newest academic center has new mac labs that are awesome. There's plenty of spots to hang out, for us commuters in between classes.
Bang for the buck SNHU is a private school, so the tuition cost is a little up there. I got almost half of my tuition in a merit scholarship, which made it actually affordable! They're really good with aide and scholarships, but they over charge for all of their food. I'm often killing time in between classes, and I don't always bring food with me everyday. It costs about $10 a meal, and that's a lot when you eat there all the time, especially when you're paying out of pocket and not on a meal plan.
Tips for prospective students Do well in high school, and you'll get a nice scholarship!
Great for these types of students If you like small classes and a fairly small campus, this is the school for you! This school is also known for it's business program - so that's it's strength. They are beginning to add in a lot of art programs, but in my opinion (I'm a graphic design major) it's not up to par quite yet.
