At Saint Joseph's the professors and staff are constantly helping. Depending on your major, the professors will go out of their way to remind you of the requirements necessary to become your intended career. Every one there is friendly and welcoming. Even though it is a commuter school, they have a common hour every day. Many of the clubs meet during this time. This give you time to meet with your friends, or get some work done for classes. Although it is quite expensive, the staff tried their hardest to give you the full college experience.

    Tips for prospective students

Many of the professors here are strict on their attendance policy, so if you aren't willing to come to class, this is not the school for you.

The classes are designed to really teach students. The classes contain about 20 students each to one Professor and the rooms are a comfortable size. This ratio of students to professors makes it much easier to learn and easier for the professor to help teach to the specific needs of each student. The professors show passion and energy in each of their lessons making each class, lecture or not, to be entertaining. There have been times where I sit in a class completing engaged in what the professor is saying and I don't even realize the 90 minutes is up!

    Am enjoying being here

The classes are great and there is always something new going on on campus. There are many great clubs that do great things on their own and support the other clubs. The meetings and events are both fun and often rewarding since each club on campus has an organization to raise money for.

    Bang for the buck

The tuition is pretty high; about 17000 right now. You really get alot for it. The classes are great as I have mentioned before and there is also a student academic center where students tutor others if they need any help in a subject or just want a second pair of eyes for their paper. It really helps you out and some professors will even give extra credit or second chances on papers if you visit the academic center. The clubs on campus are also able to do alot to make the best of our college experience, and the college always has free food somewhere on campus everyday and sometimes nightly as well. Incoming freshmen and transfer students are also given welcoming gifts; this year it was a backpack, pens, flash-drive, scarf, and enotebook. There is actually a saying among the student: if it's free, its SJC.

    Tips for prospective students

St. Joseph's is a commuter school: there are no dorms. Parking can be a bit of a hassle but if you get to the school early, you will not have a problem. Coming in earlier then you would like might seem like a hassle but it is great to go to the library and work on any homework or papers that you may have. The free time forces you to do the work and you really do not have a reason to procrastinate (one of my biggest problems!)

Great for these types of students

While our school offers many other programs such as business, nursing, secondary education, biology etc. the main area is child study. Anybody looking to be an elementary school teacher would get alot out of St. Joseph's. We earn 4 certifications, will be certified in regular education as well as special education. This school is great for students who want to learn and who want to be more involved on campus and/or in the community. Our school puts a big emphasis on community and service.

St.Josephs is an extremely welcoming school. Both students and educators are always lending their time to help the college community. The college offers many extra facilities to help ensure that each students learning potential is met. There is a writing lab, academic center, and a math lab, all used to give those the extra time/help needed for their studies.

    Am enjoying being here

Not a day goes by at St.Joseph's College where issues aren't resolved. Those working to help the students such as both educators and student activity groups much like the Student Government, are always devoting their time and energy to making the campus an enjoyable place to be. The people are nice, the setting is attractive, and the community is growing every day.
