Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot Great Teachers (only one crazy teacher yet haha) and in addition to great courses I have had many so many life changes experiences I really couldn't explain in this box
Am enjoying being here Great campus atmosphere I love all the friendship and networking I have done over the past year and has a great gym!
Bang for the buck College is never cheap but I think pricing is decent since im paying about 11,000 a year for everything (meal plan, dorming, and tuition and other college fees)
Tips for prospective students DON'T TAKE ANY ONLINE COURSES!!!
If you live close by and can afford it I would highly recommending spending the extra cash or scholarship on dorming!!! It is a great experienceLogin to rate or flag the reviews

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot When you attend the University of North Carolina Greensboro, the first thing that will strike you is the beautiful campus. The second thing is the immense amount of knowledge and care the professors share with the students. UNCG is lucky to have such an amazing staff and excel in educating many fields. The Nursing, Education, and Business programs are especially strong. It is ranked in the Forbes Best 600 Universites in America.
Am enjoying being here Social life and college life around UNCG is great there are many things going on all the time. In between the nationally ranked soccer team and the new UNCG home court located at the Greensboro Coliseum, athletic events are always a site to see. There are many local restaurants and hangouts in and around campus such as Yum-Yums, known for their famous hot dogs and ice cream. Also the Old Town Draught House and Jacks Corner are excellent places to eat. Again, the campus is beautiful.
Bang for the buck A great University education, plus many more opportunities that aren't offered anywhere else in the state, such as the study abroad program and International Student exchange. UNCG has more to offer at a lower cost than any other university in the state.
Tips for prospective students Be prepared to deal with a parking nightmare, one of the first things you will learn should you attend, is that the parking situation here is the only bad thing about UNCG.
Great for these types of students UNCG is great for students who are looking to learn a lot and exert themselves in order to receive a great education. There is everything one could hope for in a college and more. UNCG is a very laid-back yet extremely prestigious university and most who come fall in love with it and couldn't dream of going elsewhere.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot The professors are great. I have not had a class Ive hated. The Classical Studies department is excellent. Never a dull moment with those professors. Professors are usually very understanding to those who are actively trying in the class. They will help you when you ask. If students are having trouble with a class there are free tutoring, a speaking center, writing center and a 24/7 library all on campus. Help is always at you finger tips. You just have to ask.
Am enjoying being here During the week the campus is busy and there are many things to do but on weekends students (including myself) goes home. Even though there are many things around to do such as the nearby Four Seasons Mall, resturantsI and the many movie theaters it all cost money and most college students like myself are completely broke. If you find the right people to hang out with weekends can be a blast.
Bang for the buck Double majoring is the best way to get more for your money. Try to choose majors that are close together so they can be coordinated better. The dorms are Ok. I stayed in the highrises. The only issue I have ever had with the highrises is the noise. It is not to bad but it can be quite annoying at times. The best dorms are Ragsdale and Phillip/HawkinsThe food in the Cafe is not the best. It is buffet style with grills and stations around the edges. If you can be patient and wait in line at the grills and stations the food is pretty good. Not to mention the desert bar.
Tips for prospective students 1)If you are worried about making friends join a residential college. There are many at UNCG. FYE, Warren-Ashby, Live Learn and many more. They provide opportunties for making friends and also gives you more access to help for classes.
2)If you are having problems with your roommate talking to them is the best way.
3)If you are struggling there are always someone to help you in every subject. Don't be afraid to ask.
4)Get involved any way you can. It looks great on your resume, it gives you a chance to make a difference on campus and you can make many friends.Great for these types of students Any and all types of students. The diversity of people here is great.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot Being part of the Grogan College Living Learning community, I have learned a lot about my major with my fellow classmates. There are many different living communities available at UNCG that a student may apply for if they do desire. I highly recommend being in one as it is a great way to meet people within your major, build strong relationships with them, and even tons of educational help from your fellow classmates.
Am enjoying being here What I love about UNCG is that there are many different clubs that are available. A student just needs to look for what they truly love. It is not difficult to be part of a club and maintain your grades at UNCG. As a matter of fact, being part of a club will make you become a better student. Being only a freshman at college, I already am a student leader at the Associated Campus Ministries. Seeing how much I love being part of this program, I always strive to be a better student.
Bang for the buck Comparing tuition to other UNC systems, UNCG offers a fair price to it's students. There are different meal plans that a student could apply for, and even different living arrangements that may vary prices. UNCG has a lot to offer for it's students, and the price of it all comes very affordable.
Tips for prospective students I highly recommend to completed their FAFSA application ASAP. This truly helps you if you need financial aid. UNCG is great by giving away scholarships, but the student must show that they want it.
Great for these types of students Having the most diverse student population in the UNC system, UNCG is great for anyone interested in coming here. Not too-small or not too-big, students could get from one side of the campus to the other in no time. Greensboro is a great town overall, and UNCG is simply amazing. I couldn't imagine going anywhere else.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot In all of my classes thus far, there has been at least one thing I have been able to pull out from my classes and carry with me to apply to real world situations. In the classroom, the professors strive to ensure that their students understand the material being taught.
Am enjoying being here I absolutely love UNCG. It is an absolutely gorgeous campus with some sort of event always going on. THe majority of the students are friendly which makes it easy to meet new people and establish one's niche of friends.
Tips for prospective students Generally speaking, if one is planning on attending any college, whether it be UNCG or others, they need to be prepared for the work load. It is not impossible or scary, but it does not take long for a GPA to suffer due to laziness.
Great for these types of students UNCG is known for it's arts and nursing program. Having been a major in the arts previously, I can voucher for this. The professors push students into thinking in new, successful ways about the world to approach design projects in ways they never thought possible. I also have two good friends in the nursing program who enjoy themselves although it is difficult. All in all, UNCG would be a great niche for anybody because this school has a lot to offer.

Categories Rating Comments Did learn a lot The professors are so nice, and really want to help you learn.
Did enjoy being here The campus is always full of fun stuff to do... except on the weekends. It's completley dead then.
Bang for the buck Really good for the cost.
Tips for prospective students As sketchy as they sound, live in a high-rise dorm!! The people there are really nice, and it's a good way to meet other freshman. Most of the hall style dorms are upper classmen, but the high-rises are usually all incoming freshman who want to have fun!
Great for these types of students Artsy, open-minded. The school isn't that big on sports, but still really fun.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences UNC Greensboro is a very diverse school in a positive light. Because this school is so diverse, I have so many more opportunities I feel open to exploring rather than feeling the pressure of needing to be a part of something. Being a UNCG Spartan has widened my future and given me above excellent education to carry me through to beginning my career!
Tips for prospective students Your study habits from high school are no good in college! Find out what kind of environment in which you study best (ie. noisy and inspiring, quite and dull, a library, a coffee shop, outside, or in solitude). Knowing the environment in which you can concentrate and focus is a valuable tip because it will be where you go when you know you need to get something done! Also, join organizations, club sports, explore academic clubs: they help to point you in the direction of finding out what kind of career, lifestyle, and interests best fit you.
Academic Rigor Exams are hard for the most part. Study habits and routines will need to be different for each class you take. Professors don't hold hands and most take attendance which account for whether they keep you in their class or not (aka: fail a class!) So go to class!
Dorm Life I never lived in a dorm, I commuted my freshman year 30 minutes each way, and my sophomore and junior year I lived in an apartment off campus (which is cheaper than dorm life).
I recommend being in a dorm your freshman year and not rooming with people you already know for this reason: you make friendships with your neighbors and roommate. You discover the kind of person you are when you are on your own: you find out whether you're a really clean person when you're not at your parents house, or you discover that you are rather outgoing and adventurous, and/or you also grow into a more responsible person by learning time and money management on your own. Do not bring your car to campus.Food and Dining Campus Dining Services have a lot to offer, more than just cafeteria food. There are many different food establishments in the student center and on the boundaries of campus that offer satisfying yet healthy options for dining because on campus, healthy options are not always offered. Campus Dining Services also offers part-time positions for learning the in's and out's of services and food preparation and you also get discounts!
What to do for fun Club sports like Fencing Club, Ultimate Frisbee, Swimming, Rugby, and even Quidditch! UNCG has a club sport for almost anything and it's easy to also start your own club sport if you have a great idea! Student Government is a great organization to delve yourself into for at least a year because you learn about the happenings on campus and you are exposed to how much the administration, faculty, and students actually work to improve campus and meet students needs! Student Government is the most networking-savvy organization to be a part of and it also offers free courses and opportunities to improve your leadership skills.
Lastly, there is a club/organization for anything and everything, even for those who, maybe like you, like to secretly play video games or go on weekly bike rides!Bang for the buck Tate Street Coffee on Tate Street is worth the seven minute walk from the Starbucks in the Student Center because they offer coffee and espresso products, sandwiches, pastries and other beverages for at least half the price of Starbucks. Tate Street Coffee is also the hot spot coffee shop for UNCG students, faculty, and other members of the community and they also offer jazz night, poetry meetings, and is a great place to meet up with someone without that awkward feeling!
Jake's Billiards up Spring Garden is a cheap and highly welcoming place for students now that their expansion and redecorating welcomes students of all ages and types for billiards, ping pong, darts, music, socializing, and dining!
Also, feel free to take a bus down Spring Garden Street to get to Lost Ark Video Games where they not only sell used video games of every single console, used and new vinyls, and gaming accessories, but they also have quite an assortment of vintage pinball machines, arcade games (old and new) for cheaper than Celebration Station!
Yum Yum Ice Cream parlor sits right on campus and has been here for almost 100 years serving the community cheap yet award-winning ice creams, award-winning hot dogs, as well as other beverages and foods for your choosing. Yum Yum's forever has a spot on UNCG's cultural identity!Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Look into Humans versus Zombies nationwide collegiate game of Nerf gun tag. On warm Friday nights on the front lawn of the student center, many students from every clique of campus gather to play freeze-tag with each other under this well-lit grassy patch of campus! Start your own games too! Other students also organize Nerf Capture the Flag games on the golf-course, Foust Park, and other places on campus!
Clubs and Activities Opportunistic, so take advantage of the ones that interest you now, and also explore to new clubs and activities to broaden your horizons! All are low cost or free usually to join and you make tighter friendships and establish unique relationships with people you meet through a unified interest!
Greek Life Not all Greek Life is the same general stereotype people think of when Greek Life comes to mind. Each sorority and fraternity is different and they each have different motives and ways. Some are parties, others are purely academic, and others are good-mannered, highly recognized sororities and fraternities that gain high recognition for personal development and growth throughout college years.
Campus Safety Campus safety improves every year and once you start living on or near campus, you become accustomed to which areas make you feel comfortable and which do not. UNCG Police Department improves drastically every year, especially with their feature of after-hours escort services and Blue Light emergency posts on virtually every corner for convenience and safety!

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot The school is very laid back, however you have to do the work to make good grades. Nothing will be handed out to you. I am an education major, and it is very competitive getting into the program.
Am enjoying being here Everybody is so nice, and willing to help you with whatever you need help with. I have had no problems with this school, and I really enjoy being here.
Bang for the buck UNCG is very affordable for in-state and out-of-state tuition. If you qualify for financial aid, I recommend filling out your FAFSA early, because if not, then you can be the last on the list to get your financial aid to go through at the school.
Tips for prospective students Apply for your parking pass early. Emphasis on early. There are so many students, and teachers you have vehicles on campus, with limited parking. Parking passes gets sold out fast.
Great for these types of students There are many opportunities on UNCG's campus. Many clubs, sororities, fraternities, volunteering opportunites, Study Abroad, and many other things. Look into everything on campus, and get involved.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot I have learned so much in the time I have been here. In the classes that I have been in I have felt like the professors wanted the students to succeed and do well. Because of that I feel like they are willing to work with the students. With my major I have had so many opportunities for internship. Not only have I gained “book knowledge”, but I have also learned a lot of practical things through both classes and internships that I will definitely be able to take with me in to my career after graduation.
Am enjoying being here I have enjoyed being here. There are lots of things going on. I have met so many great people here and have had so many great opportunities and experiences while I have been here.
Bang for the buck UNCG is certainly not one of the most expensive places to go to school. However, I definitely feel like I have had a great education, great opportunities, and good places to live with dorms. It has been worth it.
Tips for prospective students Get involved! It seems like there is something for everybody. Getting involved is going to be one of the best ways to get to know new people that you have things in common with. It is a great way to do something on campus and to build great relationships with other students.
Great for these types of students UNCG has a very diverse student body, and a wide range of majors. If there is a good program for you major, this is a great place to be. There is something here for everybody.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot Great school of Music, definitely the best public music institution in the state and region. High caliber teachers, fresh facilities.
Am enjoying being here Student life is great. Almost all students I know stay on campus on the weekends, and there are plenty of campus-wide events and games throughout the year.
Bang for the buck In state tuition is well low, even with parking and a high quality dorm the cost of living and other things, I live on campus for under 12,000 per year.
Tips for prospective students The ideal school for a rising musician or actor, also a strong nursing school. Low budget option for undergrad years for someone planning on a grad degree after.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot The teachers are enthusiastic about there classes and really care about the students. They go out of their way to try to help the students learn their subjects.
Am enjoying being here The staff, students, and teachers are an interesting mix, and I am having a blast.
Bang for the buck Considering the price of tuition is always going up. I realize that money can be a huge issue, but UNCG is one of the best priced University that I looked into.
Tips for prospective students Take advantage of the opportunities on campus. Don't be afraid to voice your opinions. Go talk to Financial Aid Department if you need aid, they are great and will help you anyway that they can.
Great for these types of students Students that can keep an open mind and enjoy learning will be more than welcome. You do not need to have your life mapped out to find your place here.

Will enjoy being here The campus is beautiful and the students are friendly. Last time I visited, a whole group of girls helped me around campus and even let me check out their dorm! It will be an amazing experience to live at UNCG.
Bang for the buck UNCG has one of the lowest tuition rate in NC for a public school. Based on ratings and reviews its worth the money!
Tips for prospective students I'll find out when I get there!
Great for these types of students Artistic and creative students. Those who are not afraid to step outside of the box!

Categories Rating Comments Will enjoy being here I went to visit the campus today and it is extremely pretty. It's a good balance between historic and modern. I'm not really a city person myself, and I like the natural aspect of the campus. There's a creek that comes through and LOTS of trees, which I really like. All in all, very nice looking.
Bang for the buck The in-state tuition looks like a really good deal, and even out-of-state isn't that outragious.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot Teachers are great about helping everyone understand and do their best. The courses are challenging but not so much that there is no chance on passing which is a good attribute for learning the materials. I love it here and am glad I chose UNCG : )
Am enjoying being here I love the atmosphere here at UNCG...there are so many types of people here yet everyone seems to get along well. Greensboro, itself, gives off a very homey, warm atmosphere.
Bang for the buck This year, I am paying the undergrad, dorm, and meal plan fees. For being UNC school, the price is pretty fair. There are a lot of options for meal plans and living arrangements that vary enough for anyone to find something they can afford.
Tips for prospective students Apply early!! for enrollment AND scholarships!!!!
Great for these types of students All types--UNCG is sooo accepting of everyone!!!

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot My professors have the most interesting teaching styles that really make the information stick with you. They are great at responding to emails and always have to time to help.
Am enjoying being here When I was visiting colleges in high school, so many looked good on paper but did not feel right when I went in person. When I came to UNCG I was at home right away. The campus is beautiful and everyone is so friendly.
Bang for the buck As an out of state student, it is expensive. However, its better than most colleges and for instate students the price is great.
Tips for prospective students Apply for a living and learning dorm. They are a great way to make friends and make the transition into college life easier.
Great for these types of students ART STUDENTS! Musicians, dancers, and artists will love it here. I am none of these, but they have many great programs.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot I am learning not only the material for the courses I am enrolled in, but about myself as well. I am learning about time management and how to become a better student, and how to better myself as a whole.
Am enjoying being here I have never felt more comfortable and more like myself than I do when I am here. UNC Greensboro offers wonderful opportunities for a wide range of people.
Bang for the buck I feel as if the professors really care about your success not only in school, but in life. The money I am paying is more than worth it, I am creating bonds with people as well as getting a magnificent education with a happy healthy atmosphere.
Tips for prospective students Always be yourself, do what makes you happy. You're going to college to become what you are going to be for your life, don't spend your time here trying to do something for other people. Do what makes you you, have fun and give your all 100% of the time.
Great for these types of students UNCG is great for all types of students. There are classes at all times of the day, with wonderful professors to work with you whenever you need help. It is great for student who are into music and the arts, as well as students who want to become nurses or teachers.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot The instructors are very knowledgeable in their subject of expertise and they are willing to help you in any way possible to help you be successful in their classes. All you have to do is to not be afraid of asking questions. Smart people ask questions to learn.
Am enjoying being here For the most part, the campus is not that big but you get to meet a wide diversity of people so everyday is never the same.
Bang for the buck Definitely worth going to if you are in NC and are wanting to be in a metropolitan/city type area with the suburbs nearby. The education is not that bad and the area is relatively safe for all.
Tips for prospective students Make sure to keep your grades up whatever major you are in when you are accepted here! It is a highly academic atmosphere with most of the students striving for their education in anyway possible.
Great for these types of students Students who enjoy a small-town kind of feel. A not-so-large campus for those who are easily intimidated by large universities. As well as the nightlife downtown with a few interesting clubs, one being a rooftop club for those homework free Thursday nights and weekends.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences Student life at UNCG is quite bland. The school has been nicknamed: The Suitcase School, because most of the students go home or to other colleges on the weekends.
Tips for prospective students Don't live on campus and don't get a meal plan. It's cheaper and you'll eat food you like, instead of pizza or pasta for every meal. (Because most everything else in the caff is NOT edible.)
Academic Rigor I liked attending almost all of my classes, and tried not to let the atmosphere on campus take away from the positive learning environment.
Dorm Life The dorms at UNCG are absolutely awful. Insect and sometimes rodent infested, never the right temperature, and it smells like someone died on every hallway.
Food and Dining The food in the caff is awful, the places on campus that take flex or cash are pretty good.
What to do for fun There is no such thing as fun at UNCG.

Categories Rating Comments Will learn a lot I am only accepted at the school and have yet to attend, thus I am unable to provide you with this information.
Will enjoy being here I have visited the Greensboro area and it seemed to me there is a very fast lifestyle for students. What I mean by this is that there are a variety of activities that keep students on there feet and always on the move.
Bang for the buck Compared to the tuition at Pfeiffer, UNCG costs less and they have a lot of scholarships that students can apply for. But all students considering UNCG and its scholarships should complete their FAFSA as early as possible; I suggest by March 1st. For many of their scholarships, completing your FAFSA application and an admission application is all you need to apply.
Tips for prospective students COMPLETE THAT FAFSA EARLY!!!! This will help a lot if you want scholarship money. Also research the school in depth. Any school's website is available to serve a purpose for you. It gives you great information from your application status, the type of students they are looking for, to financial information such as scholarships and deadlines.
Great for these types of students It will be best for you to research the school and determine if UNCG is for you. I am unable to provide this information I have never attended the school or visited the campus.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot As with every school, there are really good teachers and really bad teachers. However, I have yet to find a course that challenges me, and I have received A's on all of my papers, regardless of the quality of the work.
Am enjoying being here UNCG is a commuter school, so the campus is shut down and pretty deserted on the weekends. The city itself is more bad than good- the nicer shopping and eating areas are too few to make up for the decrepit areas and crime.
Tips for prospective students Lloyd International Honors College is a great program, and the benefits definitely outweigh the requirements. The honors course choices are more interesting, and you get a stipend to study abroad!
Great for these types of students Nursing majors, Music majors, students who did not do well in high school.

& a ++++3.8 GPA In my B.S. Degree I will love to be hereBang for the buck I am the bang for your buck. Look at my GPA's and tell me that's just luck.
Tips for prospective students Make these Schools see that although in High School we just wanted to be married and have kids, But, look at us college grads now! That's potential and Wow!
Great for these types of students This school is outstanding in every aspect. My nephew graduated from this school. He is an expert IT analyst. Will enjoy being here I have not attended yet, but know many people who have and have spent much time in the area. Greensboro is a diverse and active place with much to do and many friendly people to meet.
Bang for the buck It is incredibly difficult to receive financial grants or scholarships. If you are planning to receive a scholarship, I suggest you go to another university (I wish I had myself). The financial aid office is not prompt and is very hard to work with.
Great for these types of students Students who do not have much need for financial aid. Otherwise, almost any student will fit into the Greensboro atmosphere.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences I'm a violinist and a student in The School of Music. The program is awsome, the instrutors are very supportive and encouraging, but I have to say that I think I have the best violin instrutor a student could ask for.
Tips for prospective students Stay focused, remember why you are there, don't be afraid to ask questions when unsure of things, but most of all enjoy the college experience because it goes quickly.
Academic Rigor The course offered do test your strengths, and the content of the course in your particular area proves very challenging
Dorm Life I do not reside in the dorm
Food and Dining I find the food to be well prepared whenever I should eat at the cafetera or any one of the other eaterys on campus.
What to do for fun Attend event and functions on and off campus, spend time with peers.
Bang for the buck As I understand it, UNCG is the only University here in the Triad that offers upper level degrees, (Masters and Ph.D). It's not a surprise because it is an overall excellent school and you do get a bang for the buck.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Not familiar with the traditions since I don't reside on campus.
Great for these types of students The university is good for all students from various backgrounds and ethnicity, it's very diverse with a close knit group of people.
Clubs and Activities Not involved in any clubs at this time
Campus Safety The campus police does a very good job by doing security checks every hour on the hour especially at night if students have night courses they make sure to make their presence known.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences The University of North Carolina at Greensboro is a perfect college for students straight out of high school; they have tons of majors to decide from and plenty of sources to help you decide where you want your life to take you. There are a lot of willing individuals that will help you throughout school when you are falling short with your work or struggling and need that extra boost. I definitely rate this school very highly because the student is the one who matters the most on this campus.
Tips for prospective students Do your work and study hard, your A's and B's are not going to be given out just like that you have to work hard for them. Ask for help if you need it, that's what the professors, advisers, etc are for.
Academic Rigor There are a lot of readings and papers to write, but nothing that is not within capabilities. You have to study hard and not wait to cram everything in on the very last day to study.
Dorm Life Make sure to not pick the High Risers (Cone, Reynolds, or Grogen) because they are in the worst conditions. DO NOT LIVE WITH YOUR BEST FRIEND, just do random roommate assignments. Make the best out of the dorm because they are really not that bad.
Food and Dining The EUC holds many wonderful places to eat however having to use Flex is something that you will eventually not want to do. The Cafe doesn't stay open late and although there are a lot of options of food you will get tired of it very quickly. There are a couple of places close to campus within walking distance that are really not that expensive.
What to do for fun UNCG is very close to downtown to explore the city and enjoy the night life that Greensboro has to offer. There are Heat buses that will carry you to different places to shop around Greensboro during the day.
Bang for the buck One of the cheaper schools around North Carolina you definitely get your money's worth. It's not so expensive that you will not be able to afford it and you will see that with all the many courses offered you definitely get the better side of the deal.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus There's a lot of things that UNCG does throughout the year that is especially connected with the school but nothing that I can specifically mention.
Great for these types of students In-coming students take advantage of the scholarships that UNCG can offer you. Take advantage of the resources that can help you throughout your school year.
Clubs and Activities There are many clubs and activities that students can participate in throughout the school year.
Greek Life Take advantage of Greek Life. It will lead you to many lifelong friends and many social events that can possibly help you throughout life. Greek Life can get your volunteer hours up and connect you to people that can possibly help you with your future.
Campus Safety Campus safety is very reliable and I trust it completely. There are cops around the campus daily and call stations if you're ever in the need for help. There is also a station on Tate Street located within about a five minute walking distance.

Academic Rigor UNCG may seem easy but at times it can be very difficult. You really have to do your work. It just depends on your professor.
Dorm Life I wouldn't recommend the high rises but anywhere else you should be fine. Housing and Residence life are pretty good with helping out with dorm issues. They are quick to send FIX IT over to help with any issues that you may have.
Food and Dining For the most part, the cafe is a fifty fifty situation. they have their bad days and good days. We have plenty of options so it should not be too much of a problem. Most of the Cafe lady workers are very very nice and sweet!!

Dorm Life Dorm Life is improving. Most of the older dorms have been either renovated or are in the process of being renovated. The only dorms you might want to avoid are the high rises, as the rooms are extremely and they seem to be the dirtiest out of all the dorms.

Bang for the buck As with all colleges it is very expensive to attend but you do get a lot for your money. All textbooks are going to be expensive but there are alternate options to compensate for that. Academic Rigor You only have to focus on disciplining yourself and being responsible as far as doing your work and assignments on time.
Dorm Life The dorms for freshmen are pretty cool. They may not be in the best condition, as far as comparing them to upperclassman dorms, but they are livable. Everybody knows everybody, and there are lots of building activities and gatherings to get everyone acquainted with one another.
Food and Dining The caf has a HUGE variety, you have multiple bars to choose from. Categories Rating Comments Tips for prospective students Being admitted to UNCG requires good SAT, ACT, and GPA scores. Be sure to compare your scores to the school's requirements & work to improve them to increase your chance of admittance.
Academic Rigor I have been accepted into the Lloyd International Honors College, and I can tell that being an Honors student will be no easy task. However, being willing to work hard helps with the daunting tasks that lay ahead. Taking AP classes & scoring well on the final exams can place you out of freshman classes, which can be tedious since they are teaching you the foundations for all of your subsequent classes.
Dorm Life The Lloyd Honors College dorm at UNCG has two students per room and, as an added bonus, sinks are actually inside of the rooms. Keeping the room sizes down definitely seems to help keep fights & tensions from forming between students.
Food and Dining When I went to visit, the cafe was spectacular. The food is definitely of good quality. It will be hard for new students to resist gaining their freshman fifteen.
What to do for fun UNCG has its own Facebook page dedicated to campus activities. Also, the iSpartan, UNCGenie, and SpartanLink accounts send messages to students when it comes to new activities. There is always something to do when you're at UNCG.
Campus Safety For students who are paranoid about being in a new, unfamiliar location, don't be frightened. There is a 24/7 police force around the campus. You can't go more than 100 feet and not see a panic button. The stations are royal blue and, if the panic button is pressed, a police officer WILL be there in under a minute. The campus police at UNCG are definitely a plus to the whole college experience. They definitely know how to make us feel safe, knowing that they are only a call away.

This is a place where you can learn lessons and make friends that you will have forever.
Tips for prospective students Always write due dates in your agenda. It is important to keep up with what events you'll be attending as well as what projects you have coming up. It takes organization to have a balanced life and to not get overwhelmed.

Dorm Life If you want dorm life to be fun, it will be!
Food and Dining There are many options for every kind of eater.
What to do for fun Since UNCG students get free bus fare, I like to explore the city when I get a chance. Greensboro has a lot of history and culture so, as much as I love campus, I like to explore outside of campus as well.
Bang for the buck UNCG is not an expensive school for the stellar education and social experiences it provides. Wherever you can save a dollar, I suggest doing so since tuition has been rising for the last 3 years. Don't bring your car. Buy your books used.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus The clock tower by the library is said to have a bad omen and if you walk under it you won't graduate on time. There is a lot of tradition at UNCG but it mostly depends on what organizations you relate yourself to.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences It's famous for its' diversity students. Professors, instructors, and advisors are helpful. The campus is undergoing construction, but it still looks fabulous.
Tips for prospective students It's always great to explore the campus because it can be surprisingly huge. When a student wants to drop a class, it's appropriate for them to send the instructor an email saying you have dropped the class. It's recommended that a student starts an email with Dear Dr./Mr./Mrs./Ms. _________ and end with Sincerely or Thank you.
Academic Rigor When a person lacks off on classes, it's not a good way to start college. A person focused on his/her major is great. They can overcome hardships and become successful. A student has to put all their effort in continuing education because that's expected. I think a little bit of fun won't hurt a person's career, but if it conflicts with an exam coming up, it's best to study for the exam instead.
Dorm Life Living in a dorm is convenient because that's where all the connections take place. You can make new friends really quickly. There was about 3 mice in my room, but after calling the FIXT people, they came in and investigated the room for holes. They quickly seal in the holes so I can live in my room without fretting. FIXT people are always there to assist if for example, a light bulb goes out. The person in charge of the dorm also has Movie Nights for all students living in the dorm. The person in charge usually provides popcorn, pizza, and drinks.
Food and Dining Fast food restaurants are everywhere on campus. Simply, if you're tired of eating in the cafeteria, you have choices of eating elsewhere. The cafeteria has large amount of foods to choose from because it's buffet style. They serve breakfast everyday, different toppings of pizza, different pastas everyday, and so on.
What to do for fun On your leisure time, visit the Student Recreation Center to exercise or simply play a game or two on the gym courts. The Rec Center also has a rock wall climbing. You can borrow 2 movies from a large selection at the library. It's recommended to take advantage of Home games because they're free for all students.
Great for these types of students This campus is great for students who like to converse with different types of ethnicity backgrounds.
Clubs and Activities It's great to be involved on campus because you meet new people. You begin connections and start making friends. It's also good to learn a little bit about club because clubs can make you feel comfortable and belonging on campus as well.
Campus Safety All around campus there's a blue Emergency Police Contact system. This system has a button for emergency purposes, for example, you're being followed and feel uncomfortable. Another button is for information, for instance, it's late at night and you need someone to walk you to your car.

Dorm Life Dorm life is a great experience but personally it was not for me. The dorms are nice but you do have to get used to sharing everything. You share a bathroom with over 20 people.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences The University of North Carolina at Greensboro is the prime definition of a melting pot. There are so many different cultures, majors, and styles of learning that can fit every student's interest. The college itself is a great experience, not only on an educational level, but a life experience level.
Tips for prospective students The first tip I have for any upcoming students is come in with an open mind so you can take every learning experience from every class to every engagement you have dealing with the school. You should also take full advantage of all the different aspects of culture and activities that are presented. Most of all you should make your term at UNCG count so when you engage in the real world you will be established.
Academic Rigor When it comes to the academic rigor UNCG is well placed. We are not some ridiculously easy school neither on the same playing field as an Ivy League like Harvard, but the degrees are well earned and our professions come out labeled as one of the best. What ever it is a student gets at the University of NC at Greensboro is well earned and appreciated.
Dorm Life Dorm life is an amazing experience within itself. I would recommend every student to stay in a dorm at least one semester because it brings so many opportunities. You meet new awesome people, and you learn life lesson that you will never forget.
Food and Dining Food and Dining services are better than the average University. The institute was kind enough to provide students with over 10 restaurants to pick from. There is also a Golden Corral all you can eat buffet style cafeteria. In the cafeteria you have a vegan side then you have the normal side with endless amounts of varieties of foods from soul food to a sandwich bar.
What to do for fun During the weekends and the weekdays there are plenty of things to do for fun on campus and off. You can find a lot of activities to engage in that is dealing with your major or you can do things like play in our spades tournament, sit court side at our basketball games, join in our seasonal human versus zombies game, take it back to high school with our wacky tacky prom, etc. We also have a great deal of surrounding activities that go on around or even on campus like cancer races, or concerts.
Bang for the buck The University of NC at Greensboro is safe with me mainly because I am comfortable and I notice all of my peers are too. Every student is an individual in one way or another, but no one seems to be out of place. We all, at this point of life, would like to feel excepted and UNCG has a great way of fulfilling that.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Well there is this one hang out spot. It used to be the fountain right in the front of the cafeteria but since that is under construction it is the breeze way in the front of the EUC (student union). Every one usually just hang out there to kill time, enjoy the weather, or get some work done.
Great for these types of students This is great for all types of students because it is a way to bring everyone together without using any type of scheme or force. When a student notices that every culture and interest is sitting in this one particular spot then no one feels the need to deny the open invitation.
Clubs and Activities There are many clubs students can join here at UNCG. We have the usual like sororities and fraternities then we have the unusual like the deaf and hearing peoples club (DHCC). As far as activities everything is an open invitation.
Greek Life I don't know much about Greek life, but I have witnessed some probates during my term here. As expected it is pretty intense and heart warming at the same time. It seems as if it is a wonderful organization to be apart of with more heart filled joy than pain.
Campus Safety The University of NC at Greensboro is surrounded by a safe area, so that helps the campus in safety. We have many success factors to our campus safety like 24 hour security and a unanimous want for safety campus wide. Yes we have had a few problems but they have not became a constant problem.
