    Am learning a lot

I was an honors student in high school who came to TCC for the Tulsa Achieves community service program. I don't feel challenged at all but I am the kind of student who likes writing papers and doing homework. If your looking for easy college credit I would go here.

    Am enjoying being here

I attend the Southeast Campus and thoroughly enjoy it. It is clean and they have a lot of cool activities. I haven't had any bad experiences while going here.

    Bang for the buck

I get school for free because I do community service. If I had to pay I would be very disappointed in the quality of education. For some classes i don't even buy books because I know I wont use them.

    Tips for prospective students

Be sure to go to RateMyProfessors.com before enrolling in classes.

Great for these types of students

Great if you could use a break and some easy college credit.

Tulsa Community College is a wonderful learning experience. The college consists of a knowledgable staff who show mastery of their respective fields. I would recommend students seeking to further their education and experiences to attend this college.

    Tips for prospective students

Do not procrastinate while entering this college. It may seem easy at first but just because it is a community college does not mean it is a challenging educational institution. Form relationships with your classmates and your teachers, this friendly close-quarter college will provide you with every opportunity to make friends and further yourself.

    Academic Rigor

The classes are small and personalized, so the relationship between teacher and student is potentially close. That being said, teachers are strict and fair in the most prestigious manner. Every class a student takes will absolutely reflect his or her performance.

    Dorm Life

There are no on-campus dorms. There are, however, nearby apartments that are quite affordable for college students on a budget.

    Food and Dining

The food options on the campus' are delicious but limited. Fortunately there are several food options near every campus that accompany any budget and every style.

    What to do for fun

There are several places to have fun around the Tulsa area. One example would be the Riverside area, which contains several restraints, a movie theater, open musical atrium, and a wonderful view of the Arkansas River.

    Bang for the buck

Tulsa Community College is extremely affordable. And when it comes to the quality education you receive, one can hardly argue with the prices. The college offers great scholarship opportunities for nearby residing students that only make this college the more desirable.

Great for these types of students

Students who are on a tight budget will not and can not find a better deal for the quality education they receive. It is also a great place for returning students who want to go back and finish their degrees or even pick up a few classes to help further their personal or professional education.

    Clubs and Activities

There is a myriad of activities and clubs that Tulsa Community College hosts. Chess Club, Science Seminars, and an international cultural heritage exhibit are just a few examples of the many educational and fun activities the college provides.

    Campus Safety

The security at Tulsa Community College is astounding. There are local police officers on campus at all times, as well as emergency call/alert centers located throughout the campus. The crime rate is almost nonexistent. TCC is one of the safest colleges you could ever attend.

My experience at Tulsa Community College has been excellent. I cannot think of one complaint. The teachers are great as well as the campus services.

    Tips for prospective students

Get to classes early as parking can be difficult sometimes. There is enough, you may just have to walk.

    What to do for fun

The gym is a great place to hang out if you love to play basketball. Some good competition from the surround high schools play a lot.

    Bang for the buck

Tulsa Community College is rated very highly as one of the top community colleges in the country.

Tulsa Community College is a very well mannered, and educated school. Many students succeed while taking classes here. They are there to help you accomplish your goals.

    Tips for prospective students

Try enrolling early , because the classes fill up quickly. In order to finish college soon make sure to take classes in your majors category.

    Academic Rigor

The grading scale here is complicated. Sometimes the teachers like to curve the grades, i haven't really ever understood that process. But the professors are usually fair upon grades.

    Dorm Life

Since Tulsa Community College is a junior college there isn't on campus residence available.

    Food and Dining

I wouldn't know if the cafe is good quality food , or not because i haven't ate there myself. But they do have a variety of vending machines throughout campus full of different beverages , and snacks.

    What to do for fun

For fun the college hosts gatherings for children ,or the community to act in a variety of activities.

    Campus Safety

The campus safety could use some improvement. During night classes the lighting over the parking isn't up to date so there's barely any lighting for safety.

Tulsa Community College is a perfect way to start your academic career, or to get the technical skills you need to start working right away. The the size of the campuses make it easy to navigate between classes, or you can choose online classes so you rarely have to visit the brick and mortar structure, at all. I would recommend TCC to anyone looking for a quality education for a reasonable price, I haven't had any issues with them.

    Tips for prospective students

Research the specific teachers online when trying to decide which classes to take. There are many great teachers, and some not so great ones, but the crummy ones are usually revealed by a quick trip to a professor rating website.

    Dorm Life

    No dorms.

    Food and Dining

    Tips for prospective students

use ratemyprofessor.com! it's very helpful for which professors to choose from because while most are great, you occasionally get one that's not so great. and study a little each day, it'll help in the long run!

    Academic Rigor

some classes are challenging but others aren't as much. the teachers do expect you to study ourside of class and to do your homework on time if there's any.

    Food and Dining

there's a subway on one of the campuses but other than that it's just local food restaurants.

    What to do for fun

intramural sports are great! i'm playing volleyball and it gets pretty competitive yet its still really fun!

tcc is good about helping out where they can for paying for school. there's multiple scholarship opportunities and if you're a tulsa resident and have lived in tulsa county for at least a year you can go for free, except for having to pay for books, with this volunteering deal called tulsa achieves.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

i can't really think of any.

Great for these types of students

tcc doesn't have a whole lot of options for majors but they are good at allowing you to get your basics done before transferring to another school.

    Clubs and Activities

they are out there but you have to look a little harder here than you would at other colleges.

    Campus Safety

tulsa community college is flexible for students that hold odd schedules. however, tcc is not as suitable for working students as other college's tend to be. many of tcc's online professors still expect each student to spend at least twenty hours a week on their class regardless of how many classes they are enrolled in.

    Tips for prospective students

i would advise prospective students to speak with couselors of different institutions over the counselors at tcc. tcc's counselors have misinformed my husband and i multiple times.

    Academic Rigor

the majority of students at tcc that are also enrolled at a university have said the classes at tcc are simpler than those at their university.

    Dorm Life

they do not offer dorm living but the metro campus is near some wonderful apartments in tulsa.

    Food and Dining

the cafeteria is very basic and hours are not helpful for evening students; 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

    What to do for fun

tcc offers very few recreational activities but they do have a pool and arcade room.

    Bang for the buck

i have not found a college that offers classes for as cheap as tcc but i have also had terrible counseling and the classes are too large to expect any one on one learning. also, the staff in the bursar's office and financial aid office are notorious for their crude acts at tcc.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

last semester they held a small independent films festival for adults that was a nice change of pace.

Great for these types of students

tcc is great for those students that only need a couple classes to go on to a four year college.

    Clubs and Activities

i have only seen a few fliers around campus for any clubs or activities. over the two years i have spent at tcc i have never met a student involved in any club or activity.

    Greek Life

tcc offers a sorority but from my understanding it is very limited and not well known.

    Campus Safety

tcc always staffs a campus officer and if you need help to your car or changing a flat, the campus police are glad to help.

i really appreciate the time that the teachers offer to their students, even though there are so many. in a class of nearly fifty students, all of my professors remembered my name, which means a lot to me. all of my professors so far have been very thorough with their lectures and make sure to post notes online to refresh each session just in case if you forget your material.

    Tips for prospective students

i would definitely recommend tcc-northeast campus, especially to those who are just starting college. also, i have learned that the most important part of being in college is attendance and participation.

    Academic Rigor

Being a community college I believe the stress level, competition and class size will be very manageable for a returning non-traditional adult student. This in turn will give an opportunity to focus on classes in a more relaxed atmosphere.

    Will enjoy being here

I have taken a few spins around the NE campus and I like the updated look, the space, landscaping and easy access. I am signed up for freshman orientation next month and hope to get a proper tour.

    Bang for the buck

I feel that the education one receives at TCC will definitely be worth the money. Tuition is very reasonable and the financial aid department is friendly and helpful.

    Tips for prospective students

Feel free to walk around the campus, check out the library, computer labs and book store..browse the aid and job postings available..get a good feel for the class layout. Apply early for loans and grants and touch base with an academic advisor.

Great for these types of students

Great for ALL students but especially for people who prefer smaller crowds and a small-town community feel. As an older adult student, I especially believe wholeheartedly that working adults or those who are first time college students and may be a bit apprehensive will benefit from the smaller campus size.

Sometimes the classes are insanly easy but sometimes you really have to work for the A

    Am enjoying being here

Whenever I need help understanding something or have a question there is always someone to answer my question, (at resonable hours)

    Bang for the buck

The books are REALLY expensive. With out sholarship or parental help most traditional students can not afford the things they will need.

    Tips for prospective students

Don't wait until the last minute, because something will go wrong.

Great for these types of students

If your a first time freshman straight from high school, check out their Tulsa Achieves program.

As a non traditional student, I can't relate this to high school. It was too many years ago to compare. The professors are extremely knowledgeable in their subject and available for consult if you need it. It is fantastic preparation for a transfer as well as an in-house associates degree.

Each campus has various campus activities which everyone is always encouraged to participate. Events are held regularly and fun if you are able to attend; they are geared more towards daytime attendees rather than evening, but not exclusively.

    Bang for the buck

Intending to transfer to another school I was suprised to find both my 4 year choice and this 2 year college have similar costs for classes. There are more options here than where I hope to graduate from as well as this is significantly closer, which, with todays gas prices equates to cheaper.

    Tips for prospective students

Talk to your advisors and professors, they are there to help you. You can take classes at any of the campuses, don't let the campus location stop you from attending a class you want. That being said, use a 'home' campus: one campus you will take all of your financial aid questions to, bookstore (except online classes must use the Northeast campus bookstore) and facilities. It will make the campus easier to navigate and you will get to know the staff, which always makes for an enjoyable way to resolve issues should they arise.

Great for these types of students

    High school dual enrolled.
    First and second year college.
Students requiring one basic class because they have changed their major at another university.
    Non traditional students.
Non degree seeking students and undecided degree seeking.

I think this is one of the better college tours I have been on. It isn't my top pick though.

    Will enjoy being here

If I do choose to go to college here, I think I will most likely be happy with my choice.

    Bang for the buck

I'm not ready to answer this question yet.

    Tips for prospective students

Check out a lot of different colleges before you decide to choose just one. Make sure you listen and ask as many questions as possible and research the school before you go to the tours.

I left high school and went straight to TCC on the Tulsa Achieves scholarship. This scholarship allowed me to not only go to school tuition free, but also allowed me and my family to have a stress free 5 semesters without having to worry about finances. There have been wonderful professors in my classes and I have learned more than I could ever ask at TCC.

    Am enjoying being here

I enjoy being connected to the West Campus. The other campuses are a lot larger so the small tight nit group at West is valuable for me. It brings a comfort when you see fellow classmates or instructors walking down the hallway asking how are you doing.

    Bang for the buck

There are many things that you can get involved in for FREE at most campuses. Baptist Collegiate Ministry offers a free lunch Wednesday's at Noon at West Campus and allows you to be involved in so many activities that they offer for the basic 'I am bored and need new friends' college student. Also, you get a free gym membership, many contests to enter with the Student Activities, and so much more!

    Tips for prospective students

Be sure to get involved with your campus. There are so many things that you can do even simply volunteer with something that TCC suggests. There are many excellent classes that I was a part of and my all time favorite was a tie between New Testament at Metro Campus or Intro to Psych at West Campus.

Honestly, most of the information I am currently going over is all review to me. That is not to say that there are not difficult classes. I am just in classes that are review from high school (history, math, biology) It is a great school if you are worried about getting back in the groove. The professors are generally very willing to work with you if you are struggling.

    Am enjoying being here

I LOVE the South East Campus! It is large, clean, and has the college atmosphere with super friendly people! I also attend West and Glenpool. West is to much like a high school for my taste. I don't enjoy walking into class and hearing people talk about someone's bad taste in clothes or if they went to the party last weekend. Honestly, I am in college to grow and mature, not spend my time around immature students that choose to party and make bad decisions. The Glenpool campus is a wonderful campus! It is very small and friendly campus! The classes are normally less than fifteen students and everyone is very kind. Glenpool is great if you feel uncomfortable about a lot of people and just want to feel comfortable!

    Bang for the buck

I am struggling to pay for the classes because I do not qualify for FASFA and I am paying for class on my own. TCC is doing little to help me out even though I am making great grades.

    Tips for prospective students

Wait til you go to class to buy your books!!! Many times you do not need them. If your professor says that you will constantly be doing work out of your book then it would be wise to invest in that book, but if you will only be studying and doing a few assignments don't waste your money. I am pretty sure that all the books are available in the school library to use. You cannot check them out, but you cn study and use them in the library. Also, some books will come with more than one book (costing extra) your professor may say the extra book is not needed. In this case, you can buy a used book, rent or purchase a book online. I made As and Bs my 1st semester in college and I didn't purchase any of my books.

    Did learn a lot

Just like every other school, how much you learn in each class depends on the professor. I had the best professors and some that were not too good... Overally it is a great place where you can take your basic classes, and if you enroll early enough (since there is more and more students each semester) also recieve great teachers!

    Did enjoy being here

I think that due to the fact that the school is soo big there is no school spirit, like in different junior colleges... Adding college sports would definietly increase the student's interest in connecting more with the school...

    Bang for the buck

That is a greeattt place to take your general education classes and pay much less than when taking them at big 4 year universities... It is worth to go there first, and then transfer to finish your degree somewhere else... Great for people in the Tulsa Achieves program, cause they do not pay the tuition!

    Tips for prospective students

Enrolling early for classes assures you would have the choice of picking your professor... A lot of classes fill up veeeery quick!

Tulsa Community College professors are very thorough and professional. They helped to make sure that their students understood the coursework and being a community college, we were allowed more one-on-one onteraction with the professors. I feel very confident that I am knowledgeable and that I will be able to succeed at an institution.

    Did enjoy being here

Tulsa Community College campuses are clean and convenient. There are several different campuses that offer day and night classes that fit around student's schedules. I enjoyed the institution.

    Bang for the buck

Coming out of high school, I received a scholarship that covered all of my tuition, which was amazing and I feel that I received a great education.

    Tips for prospective students

Apply as soon as possisble to avoid delays in starting classes and be sure to enroll in classes soon to ensure that you recieve your desired class times.

Great for these types of students

Students who need a school schedule that will fit into their everyday life.

    Am learning a lot

I am learning a lot more here at TCC then i did in High School. This college is giving me some challenges and I'm meeting them head on. That's the only way to learn to have a nice challenge and do your best.

    Am enjoying being here

The activities here at the West Campus are fun. I have been staying in school longer to have some fun after classes and to do some weight lifting.

    Bang for the buck

The prices are really cheap compared to other campus I have looked at; so if you don't have much money try TCC first.

    Tips for prospective students

Be sure to read your syllabus every night because your homework is on there.

Great for these types of students

This college is great for anyone in my book; as long as the tend to work hard and put in the effort.
