Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot You will learn a moderate amount in a wide variety of subjects. Be prepared though, there is a strong engineering focus.
Am enjoying being here The comradeship you will find at the Academy is unparalleled at any state or private college, but do not expect to have any sort of real social life until you are at least in your junior year.
Bang for the buck You get paid to attend, enough said.
Tips for prospective students Make sure you are committed and choosing the Academy for the right reasons. If you are not sure if it's really what you want, don't go. There are many other ways to become an officer in the military and you will be miserable here if you are not prepared.
Great for these types of students Students who are highly motivated to serve the U.S. and have a passion for challenging themselves morally, mentally, and physically will be successful here.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences United States Naval Academy is one of the best known institutions around the world. It is a great place for serious students who are willing to serve their country. Even though the school demands academic and military obligations, opportunities here are endless.
Tips for prospective students As a current midshipman, be prepared to challenge yourself physically and academically. It is tough the first year, but with determination and hard work, anything is possible.
Academic Rigor The academics will demand every effort in studying. Do not underestimate the workload.
Dorm Life First year, you will typically live with 2 to 3 midshipman. The rooms are small, but can easily adapt and overcome.
Food and Dining The food is free and typically you will sit with your squads. Sometimes, the food can be great, but also disappointing.
What to do for fun There is so much to do. Every midshipman has some type of activity that ranges from varsity athlete to intramural warrior.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Do NOT step on the SEAL crest.
