Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot The first year at any college, you will have to take classes outside of your major. Hartford has All University Curriculum classes (normally referred to as Gen-Eds). The classes fall under the categories of Arts, Culture, Technology and Science. Most students get to take classes in their major/department their first year (espescially students in the art and music school). The majority of the professors really care about their students (giving out private email addresses and even phone numbers, in case you are having problems).
Am enjoying being here The campus is a great size; not too big, but large enough that you meet new people all the time. I agree there is not a lot going on on the weekends but most people stick around. If you have a good group of friends its not so bad. They offer trips off campus and other club type activities.
Bang for the buck Hartford is well known for being extremely generous in the financial aid department. They make it easy for most students to afford a private university.
Tips for prospective students APPLY TO LIVE IN HAWK HALL FOR YOUR FRESHMAN YEAR! I lived in both the complexes and Hawk Hall. Hawk Hall could pass as a 5 star hotel, and its brand new! The essay you have to write is literally only a paragraph or two...and well worth the time.
You get out of college what you put into it. Hartford may not be the most prestigious institution, but if you work hard and get involved you will walk away with a great degree and a large network of people to rely on.Login to rate or flag the reviews

Categories Rating Comments Did learn a lot I only attended UHa for my freshman year. I took a lot of unnecessary intro courses, such as Intro to Computers. I was a Multimedia Web Design and Development major. If I couldn't figure out how to use the Microsoft Office Suite, I should have chosen a major that was not in technology. The class was a complete joke.
The Rhetoric and Writing classes had busy work curriculum. I did not learn a single thing in either of them and I was taking them on the honors level.
I did most of my learning at my job in the Faculty Center for Learning Development (FCLD), where I could apply what I learned in my AUCT150 class on HTML and CSS. I had previous knowledge of HTML and CSS so what I did learn in that class was minimal. Also the exams for that class were online so the majority of students just opened another tab in Firefox and Googled for answers.Did enjoy being here There are not any events set up by the school or any groups / clubs of the school on the weekends. There is really nothing to do if you're not a big drinker and you don't have a car to get off campus. There are buses that will take you off campus on the weekends, but the last bus runs at about 7 p.m. You can take a taxi, but they're very overpriced and get expensive after awhile especially after a night of shopping at the mall.
A good deal of the student body comes from much more privileged families than I did and they came off as insolent. There are a few in particular that I can remember such as the guy who threw his $400 Blackberry on the floor and remarked that the next day he would have a brand new iPhone that his father would buy him and sure enough he did. And when he dropped that one, he had a brand new one the next day. It's as if they have a constant money supply coming to them and they have a total lack of respect towards the hard work it actually takes to make money.
I also had an awful roommate, which I am sure had a significant part in my dissatisfaction of the school. I was able to stick it out most of the year and spend a good deal of time outside of my room away from her, but she was very sick and refused to go to Health Services. Because she was spreading germs all over our room, I got mono and needed to be hospitalized. I had to stay home for a month and a half and within that month and a half, I found out just how much I disliked UHa.
It took many games of phone tag to find the appropriate person to notify of my medical leave. When I finally found out who to call, it took me 6 calls to even get the Dean of Students on the phone. I left many messages and she, rather conveniently, could not find the time to call me back until after the last day you could get any money back after dropping a class. Also, when she said everything was taken care of, it was most certainly not. I began getting e-mails from my professors saying that they had never received proper notification of my leave and if they did not get it soon, they would have to mark me absent and i would fail the class. Some teachers would not give me the work I missed until they received the notification and I wound up having to drop an additional class as a result. After another 10 calls I finally got her to notify my professors and drop the other class. Now keep in mind that I was sleeping about 18 hours a day throughout all this. The other 6 hours I had to spend on the phone with the Dean of Students Office. It was completely ridiculous and I can't say that the people I talked to were anything but rude.
When I finally got back to school, my roommate began staying up until 4 a.m. every night and keeping me up as well. I contacted my RD and asked to have my room changed immediately. I slept in the common room and on my friend's floor for 3 weeks before anyone in Residential Life did anything about it.
In addition to the Dean of Students being rude on the phone, anyone you speak to about financial aid or loans is also incredibly rude on the phone. In fact there are probably only 10 staff members that I spoke to that I did not find to be rude.Bang for the buck It was definitely not worth all the frustration that comes with arrogant students and ill-mannered faculty. Not to mention that I learned next to nothing in my classes. I felt like I did the minimal work required and still finished with an A in every class, even when I was out for a month and a half. The University is overpriced, especially when you consider that you're living in a cinderblock room with a tile floor for $42,000 a year.
Tips for prospective students Definitely apply for Hawk Hall. It was the only place remotely worth living for the cost of housing.
If you are able to afford the $500 per semester to bring you car on campus do it.
The only place worth eating is Montague's deli, which I believe will be gone now. Commons has good breakfast on weekends, but it doesn't open until 11:30. Hawk's Nest is tasty but not healthy at all! And Gengras Cafe is decent, but I could never manage to keep it under the meal equivalency price.Great for these types of students Privileged children with an average or slightly below average work ethic who intend to significantly reduce the function of their liver as soon as they are out of their parents sight.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot Although there are some classes that are worth a while, many classes are a waste of time. Same goes to the professors. As a music major, the reason I decided to attend University of Hartford is because of the particular professor I would like to study with. Most of the professors are adjunct professors, some are very enthusiastic, some don't care about anything. I would not say that I have learned nothing, but I would not say that I have learned enough to make myself feel satisfied either.
Am enjoying being here This school gives me the impression that almost everyone does drugs and drinks on weekends. I am not sure about everyone having sex, but I was kept out of my room a few times, the latest until 2 in the morning because he had someone over. It's definitely a partying school, so if you are not the partying type like myself, I would recommend that you pay a few hundred dollars a semester to have your car on campus. It gets quite boring around here during weekends when everyone around you are at parties and you are alone in your dorm because you don't drink.
Bang for the buck Everything is overpriced here. It really makes you wonder where the $44,000 tuition goes to when you see the condition of the buildings here, and consider the fact that most professors are adjunct professors, which means they don't get paid a lot.
Tips for prospective students 1. Be ready to be ignored. The staff will pretend to be enthusiastic to help you until enter the school. It's impossible to get anything done unless you go to their office a few times and stick whatever you need to get done in their face, and maybe they will sit down and work stuff out with you.
2. Hawk hall? I've never lived in the Hawk hall, but everyone around me seems to enjoy it, and the condition of the building is way better than the freshman dorms. Also you have the option of living off campus during your freshman year. If you are not a very social person like me, it would be a good option to consider. But you will have to own a car because the neighborhood is very dangerous.
3. The Hartt School is not as great as you think. I think the Hartt School received its fame in the 1980s, but since then it has deteriorated. Lack of dedication from many of the students and the non-responsive administrative faculty are my major complaints.
4. If you have already taken a tour of the campus. Yes, it is a very attractive campus with all the greenery and the river that runs through. Occasionally you will see ducks, geese, chipmunks, and some other animals not known to me. So bring a camera, the scenery is in your tuition.Great for these types of students Perfect school for people who do drugs, drink, smoke, and enjoy parties. Seriously, if you are thinking about applying to the Hartt School and are planning on being a goodie goodie, go somewhere else and save yourself the trouble of doing transfer applications like I have been doing for the past month.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot Between the core classes like Psychology and Improving Communications to my majors classes like Programming Foundations and Image Processes I'm learning more in a week than I did in a month back in high school. I Know for some that doesn't say much but I actually tried in high school.
I will admit, I'm a Web Development Major and some of the classes weren't very challenging like the Intro To Computers Class but just like any school if your going into something you enjoy their will be overlap between what they teach and what you already know.Am enjoying being here I'm meeting some pretty cool people, building friendships with some well connected professors, having a good amount of fun, and learning all at the same time.
So even with the late homework filled nights nights I'm enjoying every minute of college at Hartford.Bang for the buck Compared to other private colleges, Hartford really does make it affordable to get your degree.
I personally ended up with a pretty nice sized grant, and from what I've heard a lot of other students have too.
So between the financial aid, and things like small class sizes, great professors, and overall quality of the education, I truly believe I'm getting more out of my tuition cost at Hartford than I would at any other college in Connecticut.Tips for prospective students Explore the campus, find everything they have to offer and use it. Hartford has a lot of hidden treasures like the awesome career services office.
Build connections and friendships with everyone including professors. A lot of them are powerful voices in their field, like one of my professors who basically got me an internship. All because he knew me beyond the class.Great for these types of students The University of Hartford is really such a diverse school with so many types of people anyone could find a place here.
But art students would love it here.Login to rate or flag the reviews

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot I am now in my sophmore year at the University of Hartford. Since I have been here, I can truly say that I have gained alot of knowledge that will better myself in the future, not only in my career but life in general. When you start your freshman year you may touch one or two of your major intended classes, but mostly you will be taking alot of general education courses. The professors at the University are well trained have years of experience under their belt. They all have their unique teaching style, which a lot of the students find entertaining and easy to understand.
The advisors that are assigned to you guide you through your academic college experience. They let you know what courses or classes you have to take and depending on the advisor some may take the time to ask about your personal life. All in all the University designs a map for you to finish your four years but it is up to the individual student to take advantage of the opportunity.Am enjoying being here My frist semester at the University of Hartford was a rough one, I did not know anyone and it did take a while for me to meet people. That is expected though, it happens at every college or university. The people here are friendly and help lend a helping hand but then depends on the type of person you are, whether your receptive or more withdrawn. It is a diverse campus, not so much in race but in interest, your bound to find a group of freinds that have the same interest as you. The school also offers clubs for everything and if you feel that their isn't a club for you, you can go start your own club. There are occassional social gatherings. Music is pretty big on our campus. That comes from the Hartt School on campus. I believe they're ranked the third best music school in the nation. The campus also has beautiful scenery.
Personally, I have meet a group of friends here that I can not imagine living without. I can definitely say that I met my long life true friends.Bang for the buck Now even though the University has these positive aspects one it's negative aspects is the cost of the school. It is very expensive but the experience you gain here is worth every penny.
Tips for prospective students Come to the school with a positive attitude and things will go well. You will meet people here that you will end up knowing for a lifetime and you will also enjoy your classes. It's the best of both worlds.
Make sure it is your decision to come to school and also be open to new things and people.Great for these types of students Super great for Music and Performance majors. This school is also great for students that are coming to gain a new type of experience.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot Most of the professors are experienced in what they are teaching. Naturally you'll have one or two that haven't been in the field, career-wise, but for the most part all of them are. They are able to not only teach you what you need to know, but also give you tips from their own experience. Professors are also always willing and waiting for you to reach out to them if you ever need any help.
Am enjoying being here The environment is ok for a college, but it's all about what you make it. This is school prides itself on networking, and networking is the only way you'll be able to enjoy yourself here.
Bang for the buck It could be cheaper, but they do give out a good chuck of financial aid. Try to get a work study though as that's the only way you can get a decent job on campus, if you're planning on working.
And you most definitely won't immediately see where all the tuition money goes as some of the buildings and classrooms are really shabby.Tips for prospective students LIVE IN HAWK HALL!!!! It's the best place to live Freshmen year and the essay is only a paragraph so apply for it.
NETWORK!!!! You'd be surprised to discover what some of your professors careers are or were before teaching here. Get to know them and they'll be able to get into places. The same goes for the other students you see around campus.Great for these types of students Communication and Art/Music students. This school prides itself solely on these programs and everything else seems to come secondary.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot I am learning many things I don't believe I would have learned anywhere else. The classes I take are very helpful. I like how the curriculum is so challenging. The instructors are very experienced and have great background. All of my classes are related to my major.
Am enjoying being here Of Course I enjoy being here. There's a very comfortable environment. On top of getting a good education, I'm having fun as well. There are plenty of things to do. There is great food and great people.
Bang for the buck Its very expensive to go here. Even with a scholarship. Its worth the money, but it cost so much. But you always have to pay more for quality.
Tips for prospective students Don't go to a school because of your friends, family, or for one specific reason. I came to this school because it offered not only a good education, but they offered my major. The alumni that have come out this institute are successful. The career opportunities and internships are endless. I didn't know anyone when I came here, but I made friends. I had no idea of the weather. I'm from Georgia and its colder here. Bring a big coat for the southerners and lots of clothes. Go into a school undecided is very risky. You will take a lot of unnecessary courses if you don't choose a major. Choosing major will help you get what you need out the way
Great for these types of students Music majors (one of the top music schools in the country), Business majors (one of the top business schools in the country, Engineering, Law, and Medicine.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot Depending on the professors you have, you can learn a great deal. Most of my professors had a Ph. D. and were really successful in their previous careers. I think you just have to show them that you're eager to learn and that you're motivated. Sometimes you just have to ask. Some are difficult to please, but I think that pushes you to try harder. You have to look into every learning opportunity and find a way to connect to the professors. If you have that connection, then I think you'll gain a different perspective of the learning aspect.
Am enjoying being here With every school, it's what you make of it. I've joined a variety of extracurricular activities that allowed me to meet a variety of people. You can't expect the excitement to always come to you. Sometimes you have to go after it. At first I wasn't having the greatest time, but I became more involved and I like it a lot more now.
Bang for the buck Expensive. For a school that doesn't seem too well known, it may come off as overpriced. Definitely seek out scholarships and watch out for some unnecessary costs. If you can find something better for the same or lesser cost, go for it. It really depends what you're program you're looking into and how active you are within the school.
Tips for prospective students Apply for Hawk Hall. It's the best housing a freshman can get. For transfer students, aim for The Village or Park River. If you can get away from the complexes, do it. It's not terrible, but it's not great either. Get involved. It sounds so cliche, but it really does make a difference. It helps to prevent boredom and allows you to meet people you probably would not meet in class. Try to meet different people and not just stick to one clique.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot I am attending the Hartt School at the University of Hartford, studying music theatre. I have grown so much as a performer just within the first year and a half of being here. The staff is incredible to work with- they all have experience in the fields of performing arts, with connections in LA and NYC. Our classes are small and direct, so there is always time for individual analysis with the teachers.
Am enjoying being here It's a lot of work to be a music theatre major at the Hartt School. Our classes start at 8:30 in the morning, and go pretty consistently through the day until 3:00pm or so. We do not have a typical college experience. As a sophomore, I have six dance classes a week, classes in acting, voice and speech, music theatre history, and individual vocal lessons and coachings. It's a lot of work, but they certainly push us here. And in order to succeed in such a competitive business, it's a good thing they don't let up on us.
Bang for the buck The Hartt School is roughly $40,000 a year, including the individual voice lessons and coachings you receive to help build up your repertoire. I believe it's even more if you're living on campus, but this year I live off-campus close to school and am paying much less for a better quality of living. I'd certainly say this school is worth every penny. Just look at the caliber of our shows.
Tips for prospective students Apply early! The Hartt School's music theatre program is relatively difficult to get into. We only select about 24 students out of the country. Have a lot of confidence at the audition!
Great for these types of students If you're a serious performer looking for a very rigorous music theatre program, come to the Hartt School! You want a little more training before auditioning for broadway, audition at Hartt! Our reputation is growing, so come make some connections here!

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot The classes here are challenging, but the professors are excellent and will be more than happy to assist you with anything. There are honors courses and classes for those so inclined, and many majors require hands-on learning, which is extremely helpful. For example, as an education major, I get to tutor in an elementary school. The unique hands-on learning helps me to learn more than I ever could in a classroom.
Am enjoying being here The size of UHart is perfect. There are a lot of students, so there is always an opportunity to meet someone new, but it is still small enough that you will see familiar faces all the time. The classes are small (around 20 students), which makes for a more enjoyable education, and the social activities are numerous. There is greek life, which I am a part of, clubs, dances, concerts, free movies, anything you can think of, our Campus Activities Team (CAT) does. It's wonderful living here and attending UHart.
Bang for the buck UHart is extremely expensive, which is the only downside of this university for me. However, scholarships, work study, and financial aid are always available, and our staff will work hard with you to get you the most money you are eligible for. Also, if you work as a Residence Assistant (RA), you get room and board free. There are lots of ways to make UHart financially possible, and it is worth it.
Tips for prospective students Look into other colleges' field experience programs and compare them to UHart, which starts you off in the field starting from day one.
Be prepared to be challenged and work hard.
Start saving your money now.Great for these types of students Musicians/dancers/actors (Hartt school of music)

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences After this past year, I have really learned a lot at this school. It is very diverse and I enjoy the classes I'm taking. I look forward to continue my education here.
Tips for prospective students Make sure you don't mind going to school with many New Jersians/New Yorkers!
Dorm Life The prettiest living is the Freshman dorm, Hawk Hall and Park River. Other than that, it could be better.
Food and Dining Terrible. I order out a lot.
What to do for fun JOIN CLUBS! It saved my life.
Bang for the buck Expensive school, but you're learning a lot.
Clubs and Activities I participate in so much and I love it.
Campus Safety A little to over protective

Categories Rating Comments Tips for prospective students Make sure you check the weather when you park your car, lots of the parking lots are in a flood zone. In September 2011 there was a huge flood ruining hundreds of car.
Academic Rigor Coming in freshman year I was told the physical therapy undergraduate program was extremely difficult and very hard to complete in just 3 years. Had I known what I now know about the classes, I could have easily completed the course work in 3 years instead of 4.
Dorm Life The complexes are ugly, the upper-class-men housing is cheap and poorly constructed. You can easily hear you neighbors through the walls, lean on the wall a little to hard? Make sure you don't fall through it!
Food and Dining The food options aren't many, and repeated often. The hours to dine are odd, especially on the weekend. Meals are by far not worth what you pay for them.
What to do for fun There are a lot of free RA programs, clubs and sporting events. The sports teams aren't great, but there is often free apparel or food given out.
Bang for the buck The school is VERY expensive, and the dorms are by far over priced. However, if you do have good SAT scores, you can get decent scholarships.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus There is a large anchor which various clubs like to paint. Fraternities often put the rocks in the river in the shape of their letters. People love to throw their cigaret butts all over the ground which is really nice if you like that.
Great for these types of students Those that got really good SAT scores so they can get a really good scholarship from the school so they don't have to pay.
People who don't like using the library. The library doesn't have enough computers, places to sit, or outlets.
Physical therapy majors who can actually keep a 3.0. Its AMAZING, you don't have to re-apply to any schools and the graduate school is actually very cheap.Clubs and Activities Lots of clubs, and the school does give out a lot of money to those clubs. There are a few club sports; men's and women's ultimate frisbee, men's and women's rugby, and men's volleyball.
There are concerts almost every day put on by the Hartt School of Music, which is actually one of the best music schools in the country. Of course no one besides the Hartt students and their friends go because the school doesn't publicize them.Greek Life There are many sororities and fraternities. No frat houses in the area however.
Campus Safety Public safety is responsible for watching the river to ensure that students are alerted that it may overflow and flood the parking lots. The place where the river overflows is directly next to the Public Safety building. HOWEVER, they failed to notice or inform students when the river flooded those lots in September 2011. If they couldn't watch the water level of a river, what does that say about their competence and ability to keep the campus safe?

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences The atmosphere is welcoming and they try to make you feel at home. It is not a college party so you can focus more on your academics. I like it because it is not big and it was the only school that offered me the most financial aid.
Tips for prospective students Get to know your professors and make sure they know you. you can do that by participating in class and going to them for help. Stay on task, no late assignments.
Academic Rigor The professors are really supportive and you get to know them. The classes are not big so you have a better chance for your professors to know you and they have office hours and they can also see you by appointment.
Dorm Life I like Hawk Hall, t is the best dorm to live in the school.
Food and Dining The food could be better. I think they should put more effort in the food because Commons food is not interseting to me.
Clubs and Activities There are a various of clubs and organizations. They have clubs that focus on your major and also other things that you might be intersted in. you can also start your own club.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences University of Hartford is a small campus so many peoples faces become familiar to you. The class sizes are small so the Professors know who you are and are able to interact with their students. Most of the people on campus tend to be friendly.
Tips for prospective students When given a syllabus at the beginning of the semester make sure you keep it so u can refer back to it to see what assignment are do. Make a study group for each of your classes. If you are struggling with a class make sure you get a tutor immediately.
Academic Rigor As long as you know exactly what is being discussed in class and on the homework then classes should be easy

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot There are a great many variety of courses offered at UHart. Since I am in the Honors program, many of them are vigorous and require more time and effort than most courses. However, it's worth it because we cover that much more material and go into depth, which I find especially wonderful if it is a topic I enjoy. There are also other easier courses. For example, I'm an English major and math is one subject I'm not good at. However, since 3 credits of math is required I was able to take the easiest math course available, one created specifically at UHart for students like me, called Contemporary Mathematics. I still learned a lot in that course, but the work load was reduced which was very convenient for me since my first semester I was busy writing multiple essays a week for my other, more intensive classes.
Am enjoying being here Choosing UHart was one of the best decisions of my life. I was worried that I wouldn't fit in with college life and make friends, but surprisingly (or, perhaps, not so) I adjusted to life here very quickly. My first semester schedule included classes such as Freshman Dialogue, and Time Management that focused specifically on allowing new, incoming students to adjust to the college workload. Those proved to be very useful for me. Although registration week is a very busy time for college students, I was able to sign up for most of the courses I wanted. I relied heavily upon my freshman adviser for help with this, and she was more than willing to give me a hand. Although I know next semester I won't be able to see my new friends as often, I can always hang out with them after classes and am looking forward to making new friends during the new year.
Bang for the buck I believe UHart offers much for the money we students pay. I can see it's worth it; the professors are all very intelligent and professional, and are 'there for their students.' Although I had a little trouble at first with communication, after my Literature professor told me that I could -and should- come to him if I was having trouble I had no problems contacting my professors when I needed help; I would email them and arrange a time to meet and they would be very accommodating. The courses are also wonderful, and there were so many offered that I had trouble deciding which ones to take my first semester.
Tips for prospective students College life is far better than high school, in my opinion. There is no 'busy-work' and students are left with plenty of time and the responsibility to do their own work. Just be certain to pay attention in lectures, take proper notes, and begin early on the many projects and papers assigned to you. Basically- don't procrastinate. As long as you manage your time well, I am sure you will do just fine in the college of your choice.
Great for these types of students Students here at UHart tend to be carefree and very, very friendly. Almost always the person in front holds the door open for others coming through, which I think is very nice. (It's my personal pet-peeve; I've noticed that this is often an indication of a healthy, kind environment). My classmates would always help me when I had trouble figuring something out, and it was easy to make friends with the people sitting around me. The people at UHart are very easy to talk to. However, not everything is fun and games. They are also hardworking and won't hesitate to turn down an invite to a party if they know they have serious work to finish first. When I was having trouble finishing a Lit essay, my new friend urged me to finish, going with me to the library and keeping me from procrastinating on Facebook. So basically, I think UHart creates a positive environment for any type of serious student.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot I take something away from almost all my classes and I feel like they a relevant to my selected major. I also have a really wide options of elective classes to choose fun which makes the learning process more enjoyable.
Am enjoying being here I have so much fun at UHA. It is really a great community where almost everyone gets along and there is always something to do.
Bang for the buck Since it is a private university it is a bit expensive but I've enjoyed my time at school and I think I've gotten a lot back from the University so far.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot The classes are great and are small so its a great learning environment for someone who likes professors to know who you are and its a lot easier to pay attention in class.
Am enjoying being here Outside or the classes, the campus is really small, there is little to do, you can't walk anywhere, and everyone goes home on the weekend.
Bang for the buck They offer really good scholarships so it isn't all that bad for a private school.
Tips for prospective students Shadow students, do overnight visits, make sure this is really where you want to be.
Great for these types of students Like one-on-one learning environments (small class size), want to go home on the weekends; art, music, and theatre majors.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot I am a freshman who is a Health Science major trying to become a Physical Therapist. Some of the classes are very informative but very hard at the same time. I am actually struggling with the sciences so I am planning on changing to Psychology either next semester or next year. My biological science class is a little useless even if its a requirement for my major. My professor reads from the lecture slides and there really is no point in going to the class, but the test can be very hard.
Am enjoying being here I have made some really good friends that I will be in contact with in the future but sometimes there will be a night where I'm ready to party but there just isn't any where to go. Also the clubs are a lot of money if you plan on doing it every Thirsty Thursday. A lot of the parties on campus are drunk parties where they play beer pong and everything gets shut down so early! By 2 am everyone heads back to their room.
Bang for the buck I thought I was getting a good deal. The financial aid they offered me took a chunk out of my tuition price and it seemed so amazing, but when I got my actual bill, I realized that this school is really expensive, lol. I also don't think its worth all of this money too, a lot of things are old and the classrooms use a lot of old computers. The libraries computers are pretty up to date though. With that aside, they really do give good financial aid out though, mine was just not enough for me. This is the main reason why I plan on transferring next year because I just can't afford this place.
Tips for prospective students This school is how you make it out to be. If you stay in your room all day and go home on the weekends then its gonna be pretty boring for you. But if you make new friends and take the time out to be with the social scene, then this place will be bearable. If it wasn't for the tuition, I definitely would have stayed here. It rains constantly, bring rain boots!! Also all freshman should apply for Hawk Hall. I live there and it is so amazing, so much better than the complexes and it is only a small paragraph you have to write to get in!
Great for these types of students Outgoing people. Someone with a set major who can afford tuition. Someone who likes the rain and likes to meet new people. Do not go to Hillyer College, it will mess up your gpa.
