    Tips for prospective students

Getting involved in any college is very important. Even if you decide to go somewhere else...GET INVOLVED!! It is such a big help to find people who have the same interests as you. At the University of Toledo there are more than enough organizations to get involved with. Most of them are not very time consuming. When involved with a organization, they help you stay focused. I have currently have a pretty good GPA, which I never would have expected, but I owe it to my involvement. Another good thing to remember is to stay on top of your work. There are tutors available in the basement of the Library. They are there to help, they are free...so use them :-)The University of Toledo is in a great area (at least I think so) The city is not far, and neither is a great shopping/eating area. It has a great balance.

Great for these types of students

Any student willing to be involved, have a good time in school, and determined to get an education!

    Am learning a lot

The University of Toledo is an excellent school. In the classes that I am taking right now, I am learning a lot. I feel like by the time I graduate, I will have received an excellent education.

    Am enjoying being here

The campus is absolutely beautiful. It is a relatively large campus but not at all too big. I can walk to all of my classes in under ten minutes. I have also made a lot of great friends here. We can always find something to do. I am glad that I chose the University of Toledo as my college.

    Bang for the buck

All colleges are going to be expensive. They all seem like you aren't getting a big bang for your buck at all. However, the University of Toledo isn't ridiculously expensive so it is better than all of the other schools that I looked at.

    Tips for prospective students

Throughout the first week, go meet people! Don't stay hidden in your room. If there is any sort of bonfire or anything, go to it!! It will never be easier to make friends than it is in that first week. Another suggestion I have is to get involved. There are so many opportunities here but you will never find them if you are afraid to get involved. Attend meetings for clubs that you may think that you won't be interested in. Who knows? Maybe you'll find that you actually like doing something that you never considered. And, you may make friends there. Also, use your professors' office hours. Even if you aren't struggling in their class, go meet them. Let them know who you are and what you're interested in. They may tell you about exciting opportunities, such as study abroad programs. Plus, you never know if down the road you will need their help for a recommendation or something.

Great for these types of students

If you want great research opportunities, the University of Toledo is perfect for you. They have research opportunities for everyone. They even have a first year summer research experience that is just for first year students. They also have a great medical program and pharmacy program.

    In three sentences

The University of Toledo is an outstanding school that encourage students to exceed their academic abilities. This school success is due to the high interactions between professors with their students on first name bases. A student being a name rather than a number is the foundation to a student wanting to excel at The University of Toledo.

    Tips for prospective students

Although the University of Toledo has a large campus its not to overwhelm you, but to make you crave to explore. Get to know the campus because the more you know the campus the easier it is to commute to your classes. Also get involved in an activity that is outside your boundaries. I say because getting involved on campus will help you become more diverse, and simply meet new people. Lastly just have fun but make sure you control your college experience don't let college control you.

    Academic Rigor

Professors strive to help students individually to succeed because they would rather take the time to help the student pass than to allow the students to fail.

    Dorm Life

Everyone must experience dorm life because it allows you to grow and learn more about yourself as a person.

    Food and Dining

The best dining halls I've been to so far even after visiting several top elite ivy league schools. The University of Toledo dining halls are so good because they cater to every racial background by providing dishes that are from those nationalities. The best dining hall there is on campus is Ottawa Dining Hall.

    What to do for fun

At the University of Toledo you will always have something going on from football games, basketball games, soccer games, etc. You can also find fun things on flyers posted up around campus and in your dorm. Living in dorms you have a lot of planned events that allow you to meet and interact with people in your dorm.

    Bang for the buck

The University of Toledo is a good stepping stone for students wanting to achieve a higher goal. While at Toledo you will gain responsibility, structure and everlasting memories.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

A tradition that goes a long way at The University of Toledo is TOL-EDO . This chant can be heard mostly at football games, basketball games, etc, but this chant can as easily be heard while walking on you way to your 8am class. So if you heard someone call out TOL! don't be afraid to yell EDO!

Great for these types of students

Toledo is great for students that love the idea of a one to one relationship with their professor. Also for the bold student that likes to adventure and try new thing.

    Clubs and Activities

There are a tons of clubs to join from medieval clubs to drama clubs. There are several dance teams, cheer leading, band, chess clubs, and so much more!

    Greek Life

The University of Toledo has an outstanding number of fraternities and sororities to choose from.

    Campus Safety

Although Toledo can be a little on the wild side you can always feel safe because of the high security because our police department is right on campus. The police are also constantly patrolling to ensure the safety of all of the students. We also have a system called night watch which is like a taxi service for the campus but is only used at night when you feel unsafe walking alone.

    In three sentences

The University of Toledo is a great college with a lot to offer. The students, professors, and staff are all very kind and willing to lend a hand at any time. There are many resources on campus to ensure that the students have everything they need to excel academically and professionally.

    Academic Rigor

Depending on the class, the academic rigor can be high or low. The main factor in academic rigor is the professor teaching the class.

    Dorm Life

The dorm life is fantastic! It is a great way to meet new people. I highly recommend living on campus for at least the first year at the university. The dorms are decent. The more expensive dorms are very nice, but the less expensive dorms are much less desirable.

    Food and Dining

The food on campus is pretty good. There is great variety in the dining facilities.

    What to do for fun

There is a lot to do for fun on and off campus. There are many organizations that are available to join. There are also many club sports that anybody can try out for and join. The Museum of Art is a great museum, and the university has a bus to take students there for free. There are also many clubs nearby campus that are fun to go to.

    In three sentences

The other students and some faculty are really nice. A good number of professors are hard to understand and don't teach well, so check online at myprofessor.com to do some background research before signing up for classes. Most of the dinning halls have really bad food.

    Tips for prospective students

Don't get the biggest meal plan there is. It's going to be the most expensive and the flex 10 plan has plenty of money and meal swipes, I promise you won't starve on it. Also try to get to know your roommates before you move in to the dorm, their phone numbers are probably on the housing page with their descriptions.

    Academic Rigor

The classes aren't going to be easy (my view may be a little skewed since I'm an engineering major). The professors won't do your work for you and most of them won't approach you if your having trouble in the class, so you have to make sure you stay on top of your work yourself. However, the professors are understanding of certain situations which can affect your work, so don't be afraid to talk to them.

    Dorm Life

Everyone on campus is really friendly and helpful. You should get to know your resident adviser (RA), because they can be really helpful.

    Food and Dining

They have plenty of dining halls, but most of the time the food has been sitting out for hours. I've gotten sick off the dorm food plenty, and I know others who have as well. However, there are plenty of off campus restaurants that are close that you can go to that accept rocket dollars.

    What to do for fun

There are plenty of clubs and activities to join in on, and there are parties at least once a week that a lot of people are invited to.

    Bang for the buck

The campus is beautiful, the staff is okay and the meal plans are a waste of money.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

The spirit rock/walk. There's a big rock in the middle of campus that gets painted by the clubs and Greek life all the time. The sidewalk next to it gets painted as well.

    Clubs and Activities

They have tons of clubs to join and activities to participate in that are relatively easy to join.

    Campus Safety

The police force on campus is really nice and some of them take their jobs seriously (and by that I mean kick some butt), but they can't work miracles and there are limits to what they're allowed to do. Take dorm safety seriously and lock your door every single time. There was a string of robberies that took place during fire drills in one of the dorms last year.

The University of Toledo is a very large school where you can get lost in a big sea of fish (students). There are so many students that you don't feel any personal connection to the school or teachers/staff. While attending this university I didn't feel much like a valued student but more like another number in the school system.

    Tips for prospective students

If you don't mind being in a big school with tons of students then this is for you. If you don't mind not being personally connected to teachers then UT is also for you.

    Academic Rigor

Overall the classes can be pretty intense but that's what you should expect in college. A challenge.

    Dorm Life

Dorm life was okay, I only stayed there a semester because it costs WAY TOO MUCH and just wasn't as fun as I thought it would be. There weren't many activities the dorm staff put together so we could meet a lot of the other residents. The only good thing about were parties some people threw secretly and some of the friends I made.

    Food and Dining

The food there is pretty decent depending on where you go. They have the basic dining food every school makes then fast food KFC Pizza Hut Subway and also a grill and salad place.

    What to do for fun

    Parties! Club! Mall!

I would rate the University of Toledo a solid 8 out of 10. This school gives me everything I want in a school. The reason I gave it a 8 out of 10 is because it is not home and I miss my family.

    Tips for prospective students

Students should make sure that this is where they want to be by for sure coming to visit the campus. They should make sure the university has there major. Also they should make sure that college is the place they really want to be because it is a lot of work.

    Academic Rigor

The academic rigor is what you make it. The school work is not too challenging as long as you know to manage your time wisely. Also the classes can be picked to your liking so that should not be much of a problem.

    Dorm Life

Dorm life is very fun, experiencing living alone without parents. You are able to make many friends with all the other students who live in the dorms also. There is always something to do within your dorm.

    Food and Dining

The food is good and there is a little bit of everything. They have breakfast, lunch, and dinner everyday including weekends. There is also a variety of foods for the many different palettes students may have.

The University of Toledo has a great campus, that is very inviting and safe. This University has very good educators, that care about the students and are really trying to help each student succeed. All the students and faculty members are very friendly and make the college environment very nice.

    Tips for prospective students

My tips for prospective students are: stay involved, it will make your college experience that much greater; study hard; and use your resources throughout campus, you are paying for them, might as well use them.

    Academic Rigor

Classes are challenging but doable. You do have to work hard, good grades don't come easily. As long as you study and go to class, classes aren't too challenging.

    Dorm Life

I am not a fan of dorm life. I don't like the community bathrooms or being surrounded by so many people. If you are into the community atmosphere then dorms are a great place to make good friends quickly.

    Food and Dining

Food is very good and the dining services are excellent. But do change up your eating routine or it will get old and seem less desirable.

The University of Toledo is a great school. Here I feel like the professors really care about your success and future. I would give this university a 10/10.

    Tips for prospective students

College is different than High School. You have to go to your classes, study and do homework. Your professors want to see you succeed, so if you have questions, don't be afraid to ask because chances are, other students have the same questions.

    Academic Rigor

The University of Toledo has rules and stick to their rules, but they are not too strict.

    Dorm Life

Living in a residence hall is a great experience. I have lived in one for 2 years and I love it. It is a great way to meet new people, form study groups and make like long friends. Everyone treats everyone nicely, even the Hall Directors and the Resident Advisors.

    Food and Dining

The dining halls and different places to eat on campus always have something different and have options for everyone. The staff is friendly and the places are always clean.

    What to do for fun

There are several different groups and on campus organizations to join. There is also a few local parks, a zoo, a shopping mall, a bowling alley, and is just minutes away from downtown Toledo.

    Bang for the buck

The University of Toledo is the perfect size school, it's generally a commuter school so it is not too big, but not too small. There is a lot of things to do here. The campus is spaced out evenly so you aren't on top of everything, but buildings and classes are still close enough to walk to. The sport's teams here are worth going to watch and the staff and students here have a lot of school spirit and pride.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

Every Fall there is a bonfire in the flatlands (which is a large flat open area), to welcome everyone back. In the flatlands, there is a rock that everyone always paints to show pride and to advertise for different things such as football games and Greek Week.

Great for these types of students

This university is great for all types of students.

    Clubs and Activities

There are tons of on campus organizations and clubs to join, there is something for everyone. The sports teams here are division 1 sports so they are always fun to go watch and a lot of people take pride in going to a school with such great sports teams.

    Greek Life

Greek Life is a huge part of the university. There is on-campus Greek housing, called McComas Village. There are several houses in there for different sororities and fraternities. The Greek village is always having different events to try and get people involved on campus and to meet new people.

    Campus Safety

The on-campus safety is excellent. The campus has their own police department and has a fast response rate. The police make themselves visible so people know if they need them, they are there. Also, there are blue emergency posts located all around campus (4 within visual distance at any given time).

UT has a wonderful education program (particularly in engineering). However, many of the staff lack competence and don't do things right. Expect many screw-ups regarding your academic and financial information.

    Tips for prospective students

    Look elsewhere.

    Academic Rigor

The University of Toledo has a challenging program. It weeds out those who can't do it in the first few months. Classes are generally entertaining and informative.

    Dorm Life

Dorm life sucks. Because the University is low on money, rooms that used to be singles are now doubles and rooms that used to be doubles are now quads. It's very cramped. They don't even bother to sell food many of the dorms, even in vending machines.

    Food and Dining

Terrible. The food is sub-par and the cafeterias are never clean. It's disgusting, really. They close down the main cafeteria at 4 P.M. and the only place to use your meal plan is at a cafeteria. The other ones that are open require a hike across campus: they're well out of your way. Next year they are going to make more cuts to the meal plan, leaving you starving and still spending the same exorbitant amount of money.

    What to do for fun

Absolutely nothing happens on this campus. Occasionally the student activities committee does a little thing in a little room with maybe 75 people. Off-campus there's nothing but strip clubs and bars. It's dismal, really.

    Bang for the buck

The important part is the education, yes, but the University is not at all hospitable. No food, sub-par amenities, and high price make for an atrocious experience that's not worth the money.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

We have a rock. People are encouraged to paint it. Also, we hold a gaming convention once a year. That's about it.

Great for these types of students

Boring; suicidal; dorm-rat; tech savvy; those not in it to learn, but to make it impossible for others to learn; depressed.

    Clubs and Activities

While the University advertises a large number of them, many no longer exist or have been thrown under the bus by the University because it doesn't think that certain organizations are worthy of students' time.

    Campus Safety

Crime happens often and the response team is slow and inefficient. I have to constantly watch my back when I'm out after dark.

The University of Toledo is a college with excellent academic programs and good, clean, updated facilities. Unfortunately, the surrounding area does not feel as much like a college town as other colleges do. It is in the middle of a very big city so it has more of a city feel than a small college town.

    Tips for prospective students

I would strongly recommend visiting the campus before you apply and after seeing the campus make sure to drive around the surrounding area as well. Ask current students that lead your visit at UT what they like about the area and what they dislike. Toledo can be a great fit for some but you have to make sure it is the right fit for you. If you enjoy the feel of a city then you might like Toledo. If you prefer a smaller college town atmosphere then it might now be the college for you.

    Academic Rigor

The University of Toledo often gets a bad rap from the students that live in the surrounding Toledo area as being an easy school but that is not true. Classes at UT can be very challenging. I have never taken a class that did not require an impressive amount of work. Even electives require attention. The University of Toledo will prepare you for your career.

    Dorm Life

Make sure to tour the dorms and read their descriptions before making your decision. Dorms like The Crossings and Parks Tower are known for being much more social and lively. Other dorms like Ottawa East and Ottawa West are much quieter and private. Both can be good places to live it's just important that you know what you want your dorm life to be like.

    Food and Dining

The University of Toledo has great dining services. Each dining hall has a variety of food options for every meal including freshly made to order omelets for breakfast (my favorite!). The buffet style dining halls switch up the options every day while leave some staples like a salad bar and grill which includes burgers, chicken sandwiches, hot dogs and grilled cheese sandwiches. The dining halls all have different hours so it is usually not hard to find somewhere that is open when you're hungry. Other options include Subway, Starbucks, KFC, Magic Wok, Pizza Hut and Croutons in the Student Union and the Palette Cafe at Ottawa East.

    What to do for fun

If you're interested in night life, UT does have a good variety of bars and clubs in the area including Chasers (club/bar), the Ale House (club/bar) the Oasis (restaurant downstairs, hookah bar upstairs) and Zodiac (club). Chasers and the Ale House often have themed nights and specials, just follow them on Twitter and you'll know all about what's going on every night. If that's not your thing, the Rec center is not only a great workout facility it has a pool including a hot tub and water slide, ping pong and pool tables and multiple basketball courts, a turf field and volleyball nets inside and out. UT has a variety of clubs and organizations to get involved with as well as a large Greek community.

compared to the other 3 colleges/universities i attended in the past, university of toledo stands out by at least a mile for many reasons. first, all of my professors are funny and friendly and teach clearly, understandably, and at pace i can follow (if things get overwhelmed i get great tutoring for free in the library). last but not least, since i'm a visual learner the online quizzes/tests, homework, tutorials, videos, pictures, flashcards and other study tools help me tremendously especially in the science classes such as biology and chemistry.

    Tips for prospective students

keep up with your work especially with the online homework. if you look at it as a video game (except it's with science terms), all the practice exercises and quizzes can make your in-class experience so much fun. there's always somebody who can help you in the tutoring department for those who need one-on-one so don't be afraid to ask for help (and it's free to you).

    Academic Rigor

maybe because i took 5 classes it feels like i'm always playing the catch-up game, so i have to use my weekends to keep up with all the homework we have. also, there's no such thing as cramming for the test one night before, it takes about 10 hours to review/re-learn the material in such classes as biology and chemistry and the article and book reading in anthropology seems to be overwhelming yet still possible.

    Food and Dining

many choices from fried foods to salads and sandwiches to buffets. just to give an idea there's pizza hut, subway, kfc, salad bar, and chinese food just to name a few.

    What to do for fun

go to the recreation facility! it's worth your while, you can work out, play basketball, mountain climbing, running field, swimming pool, my favorite: jacuzzi and sauna!

    Bang for the buck

the library is practically open 24 hrs/day except for a few hours on sunday. i can stay by the computer and study in the library without being worried i'll be kicked out soon because they close and i haven't finished my paper.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

again, the jacuzzi/hot tub and the sauna makes me feel like i'm on vacation. there's nothing better than to relax after a hard exam in the jacuzzi and stare at the people diving while listening to music.

Great for these types of students

if you like to workout while, before or after you study. if you need a hot tub for medical reasons (like me) or you just love to relax at the end of the day.

    Clubs and Activities

there are many of them, i'm yet to sign up for the german club i just found out about....

campus is beautiful and you can easily find your way around. may not be the school for everyone because sometimes there isn't much excitement. i have met great people and made great friends during my first year at the university of toledo

    Tips for prospective students

be open to meeting new people and keep your door open during the first week. you will meet most of your friends during the first month of school. there is an enormous diversity of people at the university of toledo, so no matter who you are or where you come from, you will find people to fit in with immediately. all it takes is looking!

    Academic Rigor

the professors really try to help you learn the material before the exam comes. the work can be tough depending on what classes you take and especially if you are a pharmacy major. the work load man get tough but it is also manageable because of supplemental instruction and professor office hours.

    Dorm Life

i stayed in carter west my first year and so far it has been a blast. i found that carter and parks tower offer the best experience as a first year student. they are not the nicest dorms and they have community bathrooms but the community bathrooms are defiantly tolerable. you can actually meet new people easier because it forces you to come out of your room to use the restroom. the other dorms are campus are a lot nicer but also keep the people inside more secluded and when you don't anyone this may not be the best option.

    Food and Dining

the food is a lot better then some places i have been but you can still go somewhere on campus and get bad food. a lot of people dislike parks tower's dining hall but it can be good some days. you will find yourself walking there more then you think because it's close(unless you live in the crossings or ottawa).

    What to do for fun

sometimes campus can seem pretty dull but there is usually something to do if you have good friends and the ambition to do something. the oasis is pretty fun to go to with friends and get food. there is signs posted around campus on a usual basis advertising things although i have never been to any of them, i imagine that some of them will be fun to attend. the football games are also very fun to attend.

i would give the university of toledo 8 out of 10; 10 being the best. this is because, even though i like ut, there are a few things that i just don't like. but with anything, your are going to find things that you just don't like. they maybe big things or they maybe small things, it just varies from person to person.

    Tips for prospective students

i would tell prospective students to go into any college experience with an open mind and don't be afraid to met new people. when making your decision, base it off of what that school has to offer you. don't pick a school because that is where everyone is going or because of the location. make sure that when you are looking at schools, to look at their programs that they offer and make sure that they have your program that you want to go into. go on tours, go on like three four tours. every time you go on a tour your going to see and hear something different. don't be afraid to ask questions, that is they only why that you are going to find things out. also, when deciding on your school, look at their graduation rate and how many people they accept into the program that you want to go into and how often they accept people into the program.

    Academic Rigor

i would give the university of toledo 4 out of 5 stars because it is a very good school and to be honest, i love their grading system. the grading system varies based on the subject, which is really nice. i do really enjoy the grading system when it comes to any science class. the chance of you getting an a goes up greatly, i think because there is more flexibility with any science class.

    What to do for fun

I would also say I have had far more teachers who weren't that good compared to the ones I prefer or would recommend.

    Am enjoying being here

    Am learning a lot

I am only learning a lot about my major because I take the initiative to self educate. My professors are often uninvolved with the class they are in charge of teaching. Several of my professors are more worried about the book they are writing or the research they are preforming to focus on educated their students.

    Am enjoying being here

I am really enjoying myself here at the University of Toledo (UT). UT is small enough that you can network with a lot of amazing people. Although the professors are not the best I do enjoy the classes I have taken thus far. UT has opened my mind to things that I did not know where possible.

    Bang for the buck

UT is no 'bang for you buck'. I feel this way because I was the manager of the college radio station and sate on the general fee committee, I know how UT budgeting system works. I am an education major-specifically in Early Childhood-and I have to say the majority (about 90%) of the professors in this field know what they are doing. They have experience in the field and do an amazing job communicating what we need to know to us. These are the professors you will learn from. However, there are a few who do not practice what they preach and do a horrible job demonstrating for students. They leave us confused and frustrated because things are often done their way, or the highway in there class. These are the professors you will learn little to nothing from.

In my opinion, if you choose the right major (something you are passionate about) you will love your time here. The college provides students with so many resources that it makes college quite easy.

    Bang for the buck

College is going to be expensive where ever you choose to go (unless you have a full ride) but this college applies your dollars honestly. They even have a lab fee (which covers the cost of printer paper) that is meant only for you. For example, you pay them $50 in the beginning of the semester and that gives you 1200 of paper to use for printing in the lab. They even let you see your account balance on every computer when you log in. That way, you know how much you have spent.

    Tips for prospective students

Get a college tour. Learn your way around the campus and where everything is. They offer them quite frequently. Also, go out there on your own at least once before school starts to learn where your classes are.
Know where to park as well and do not park where you are not supposed to. You will get a hefty fine if caught (I'm talking in the $100-$200 range). You may have to park far away from your classes for awhile but trust me, it's worth it. It's great exercise and the far walk will give you time to think and relax.

Great for these types of students

Ones who aren't afraid to fight for what they believe in, because there are crazy professors out there who will try to bring you down. Also, ones who are caring. I have yet to meet an unkind student here. Plus, if you are into extra-curricular activities, this is a great place for you. There are so many clubs to choose from. There's even one that pretend fights with plastic swords.

    Am learning a lot

depending on the teacher you will be able to get some good teachers who make sure to get their point across others will just read off a powerpoint and hand out a test when they have few or no office hours -_-but there are a lot of good professors here.

There are a lot of really great teachers, if you can, take a class with Dr. Muntersbjorn, best teacher I have ever had. A very friendly environment and the shuttles make getting around really easy.

    Tips for prospective students

Be friendly, involved, and actively look for things to do cause you will find something.

    Am learning a lot

All the teachers that I have had so far have been really intrested in the topic they teach and they seem to know a lot and they lay it out in ways it is easy for students to understand even more for the incoming freshman who aren't used to college life. And even when i don't understand something the teachers have office hours and the will break it down for you or you can attend one of the many learning centers. Sometimes however there are teachers with thick accents but if you pay attention you will understand just fine.

I love the campus it is always so full of life not as much in winter but still. During warm weather there are always so many things going on outside. The student union is a cool place to chill and do homework, the campus is also easy to navigate which is a major plus and you can walk everywhere, there is also so much around the campus so you always have something nearby.

    Bang for the buck

TOTALLY WORTH IT! I mean its thousands of dollars you are putting towards your education and U.T is one of the cheaper ones, but for the experiences you get you would think it would be a lot more.

    Tips for prospective students

U.t is a great school but these teachers aren't easy you have to study and do your part to show up to class, but if you do this you should have a great time here there is so much to do. Events are happening all the time an if you join in there is a endless stream of people you will meet. There are so many clubs there is truly something for everyone.

Great for these types of students

This place is great for students if you want a home away from home.

    Did learn a lot

I learned nothing here. In my opinion it is a terrible school. The teachers are mean, the classes are over crowded, financial aid is a mess, and counselors and RA's will not help you. I was basically told that they hire teachers for research and they teach on the side. When you walk into a class most of the teachers in the science and math department do not speak clearly and you will have 500+ students in your class. Also, teachers will tell students they won't pass the class on the first day and intimidate you during exams. Good luck if you go here.

    Did enjoy being here

I hated this school. I couldn't wait to go home and the friends I did make here went home too. The school overbooked and accepted too many students and didn't have enough housing. I had to sleep in a lounge for three months with different roommates, my stuff was stolen, and the RA would come up to harass me. The only thing that saved me at this school was a Greek organization. Though I wasn't apart of it, had I not met the people in it I would've failed all my classes and would've had no where to live.

    Bang for the buck

If you ever need help expect the line to be out the door. They have one person helping in financial aid and now they have changed the format of Rocket Solution Central so now instead of an hour to help one person it takes two. If you have a problem or need financial help, expect to be there all day. The cost for me was about the same as a private college and I learned absolutely nothing.

    Tips for prospective students

You will have to fight for a lot of things here. Keep arguing and keep at what you want. Don't take no for an answer. Get involved, you will find others to help you. I found a lot of caring people here and I would be lost without them. Expect to figure almost everything out on your own and if you can help it, don't eat in the Union. There are mice.

Great for these types of students

ROTC, Art?, Sports, and if you want to do pharmacy you are better off going to ONU.

    Am learning a lot

I have been at UT for a year now and I have really learned a loot about my profession, through the professors and professional clubs/groups.

    Am enjoying being here

I hate it, Toledo is not a college town, there is no mobility around the city or surrounding area. Getting to shadow professionals or going to parties are very difficult without proper transportation.

    Bang for the buck

Yeah, its pretty cheap compared to other large schools in Ohio so that is a plus. But you don't get the full college experience

    Tips for prospective students

Bring a car, or get close to someone with a car.

Great for these types of students

UT is a great school for those who are not sure that college is for them, or if you are a commuter with kids or extra baggage.

Try to do some research on certain profesors because a few of my friends had teachers that the material even more confusing than it already was. On the flipside, I've teachers that actually make learning enjoyable and so far the majority of teachers are like the latter.

Like everyone is saying, there's always something going on. Whether it's an event in the Flatlands, a public announcement in Centennial Mall, or just some friends getting together, you can always fill in free time with something.

    Tips for prospective students

Get Involved!! It looks great on applications, and it's a great way to not be bored and a great way to challenge yourself. Procrastinate as little as possible because the work piles up fast. Make sure you go to sporting events and other school-wide happenings because that's the single best way to meet people and there are tons of awesome people here.
