Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot Of course I am learning a lot, this school throws you enough required classes you have to take before getting into your major, so it is impossible to take any class and not learn a thing. What is different here, is that I don't just learn from professors but from my classmates who I study with or the discussion section that meets once a week for the class. You do not solely learn from classes but also from the environment surrounding you. You learn how to cross a street properly and not get run over; You learn to use the bus system efficiently and not get stranded a mile off of campus at 2am; You will have numerous heated political debates with friends (in wake of recent protests) that spark learning and thinking. You will learn the best study habits (looking out over the lake)--and the worst study habits(a redbull energy drink at midnight). You will learn to study your butt off while trying to plan three days worth of halloween costumes. You will how to Jump Around at football games without falling over. I've learned all these things and indeed, learning can be fun.
Am enjoying being here Many have told me they could never come to this campus because it is so big, I can't help but laugh and think how small it seems to me. I met the craziest yet somehow the most studious friends my freshman year at the dorms. We walk down by the Monona Terrace and the water is still and the lake is at ease and that small town vibe is all around you. But then come saturday the town is rocking inside Camp Randall and although you might not know the person next to you--it really doesn't matter because the school spirit is so great. When the football games are away, you can bet that I absolutely love rollerblading to State Street on saturday. I grab a bite to eat, listen to a fiddler on the sidewalk and watch a man use spray paint to create art on a piece of paper and sell it for much less than it looks worth.
Bang for the buck I'm not sure what 'bang for the buck' really means. I guess that means is the tuition worth it. I would say of course. The time I have put into studying is crazy but I know it will pay off. This school is one of the top-rated public university's and it ranks #1 in Brand Value. And when I graduate from here, the only thing it will say on my diploma is UW-Madison, and that name is going to take me very far.
Tips for prospective students Buy the football game ticket package; Bring a lot of red to school with you; Step out of the high-school circle you might be bringing to college with you.
Great for these types of students ...Everyone finds their niche here.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences I rate University of Wisconsin-Madison as exceptional and in the top colleges of the United States and possibly in the World. If it is prestige and education at reasonable price this is the college to attend.
Tips for prospective students The best tip I can give is start early researching the college and explore what interest you by meeting with the Professors in those area. Also use the resources on campus that are to aid your success while there, there are many ways to get help in all areas from educational, to personal and health.
Academic Rigor I am rating the academic rigor as 4 stars only because you can take easier classes but they will still be challenging. However if you want to challenge yourself and take advantage of what is available it can be a 5 star but it is up to the individual student.
Dorm Life am rating 5 stars based on what I here from fellow students and the fact that the college is building brand new state of the art dorms. Otherwise I am a returning adult student and live off campus.
Food and Dining There is a wide variety of foods available and the best Ice cream that is made right on campus.
What to do for fun There is a full array of activities at the campus, bike trails and the campus is right on Lake Mendota. Additionally the campus is located with in the city and close to all kinds of entertainment.
Bang for the buck I can not express how impressed I am with the college and my experience there and the amount of help available to help you succeed in your education.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus This university is rich in tradition, examples would be the food tray sledding day down the hills on campus, an all out college snowball fight and sitting or standing with the statue of Abraham Lincoln while wearing your graduation gowns. I could write a book about all the different traditions on campus.
Great for these types of students It doesn't matter what your area of study is this college can provide the education you seek at a very high quality of education.
Clubs and Activities Pretty much what ever your heart desires and more are being added each year.
Greek Life I do not know alot about this but Greek does exist and is prevalent.
Campus Safety The campus is patrolled by it's own police department and the Capital police department, the city of Madison Police department and the county police Sheriff department. There is fire stations very close by that responds in minutes.

Categories Rating Comments Did learn a lot I learned so much when I attended UW-Rock County. Due to being a smaller campus the classes were a lot smaller, my largest lecture had 60 people. It was very easy to communicate with professors and they took the time to get to know you which helped in the learning process.
Did enjoy being here I loved being at URock, there were always fun things going on around campus through out the year with numerous events. All of the professors are incredibly nice and helpful. It was very easy to make friends and it was kind of like high school all over just minus the drama!
Bang for the buck Just because the school is cheaper doesn't mean it's a bad thing! I earned my Associates degree in two years for about the same cost as one year at a larger university.
Tips for prospective students Attend the lectures, many professors include things on quizzes/exams that you will only learn from being in class.
Great for these types of students If you enjoy more of a connection with professors and prefer the smaller class size so its a more personal experience.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot I attend UW-Waukesha and the professors there have really opened my mind to the variety of ways one can study a topic. Also, the class sizes are small so if you have any questions you feel comfortable asking. Thirdly, there are many free tutoring options available to really help you learn and better understand the material.
Am enjoying being here I love the friendly enviornment UW-Waukesha has to offer. All of the staff is extremely helpful and encouraging. The people are very nice and it is really an opportunity to grow as an individual and as a team player. I was never involved in high school, but I jumped right into two clubs my first year at Waukesha, I was even an officer my first semester!
Bang for the buck At UW-Waukesha there are many scholarship opportunities if you have trouble affording the already reasonably low priced tuition. The only gripe I might have is the high text book costs, but no matter what college you go to the texts books will be expensive.
Tips for prospective students I would tell new students to really open up and try getting involved in activities. The more activities you become involved in the more people you meet and more opportunities will arise, such as an officer position or a job on campus. Even if you only get involved in one club, have fun with it. UW-Waukesha has a very supportive student body and faculty staff that will do nothing but encourage you to have the time of your life.
Great for these types of students UW-Waukesha is great campus for anyone! Students who don't know what major they want to go into yet, students who do know but want to save some money, students who really don't know if college is quite for them. I really love this campus and I truly know that it has helped me grow as a person.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences UWWC is a great school that is affordable and close to home. The teachers are great, and the course work will challenge you. UWWC will give you a great start.
Tips for prospective students Don't think that UWWC is a slacker school. It's not. You will find really great professors, who are smart and care about what they do. You will find challenging academics that will help you learn. You will find a really welcoming school. The biggest thing is that UWWC is very inexpensive, but still gives you a great education.
Academic Rigor I am at UWWC. A lot of people say that only stupid people go here, but that is completely not true. The vast majority of students at UWWC are very smart. The classes are all challenging. The course work can be hard sometimes, but it will help you to learn. Most of the electives classes are interesting. The teachers actually care, and want to help you learn. You do have to go to class though; many classes have mandatory attendance policies.
Food and Dining The food here is quite good! It's also very affordable. You can get a nice lunch for $5. It is all made-to-order, instead of a buffet style. The cafe serves breakfast and lunch. Many of the options are very healthy. My only gripe is that I wish the cafeteria would stay open longer.
What to do for fun I have to be honest: West Bend is not always the most exciting place. However, UWWC does have a variety of clubs and intramural sports. There are also competitive sports teams at the school too. It's easy to get to Milwaukee from West Bend (just get on the highway), and there's lots of fun things to do in the Mil.
Bang for the buck The low cost is probably the best factor of the whole campus. The tuition per year is $5,500. UWWC has the lowest tuition in the entire UW System. It is a very manageable amount; I paid for my first year of school out of pocket. Even though UWWC is inexpensive, it is still a quality school. The teachers are great, and you learn a lot! Plus, there are great scholarships available.
Great for these types of students UWWC is great for students who want to save money. It is also great for non-traditional age students, and students who can only go to school part-time.
Clubs and Activities There are a wide variety of clubs to choose from at UWWC. UWWC also has competitive and intramural sports teams.
Greek Life We don't really have any fraternities or sororities.
Campus Safety The campus is fairly safe. I have never felt not safe on campus.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences The University of Wisconsin - Waukesha is a great place to start your college education to save money. It is also a smaller sized school so you can gradually get used to college. It's a commuter school, so it can be hard to connect with other students.
Tips for prospective students If you are looking for the full college experience I would suggest not going here, but if you are looking to save money and further figure out what you want to major in, then I do suggest it.
What to do for fun There are a few plays throughout the year as well as sporting events.
Bang for the buck You really do get your money's worth by attending here for school. You are saving a lot of money and getting your basic classes out of the way before you transfer.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences This is an academically rigorous school that has a social life. I give it high ratings for both teachers and fun (and free) activities around town. The only fault is the size of campus when you are late for class.
Tips for prospective students Make sure to get good walking shoes. Get the free bus pass. Be friends with your house fellow. Find a friend in each class.
Academic Rigor Madison is known for being challenging, but you learn so much if you try your hardest.
Dorm Life My floor is extremely social and I have met so many unique people.
Food and Dining The food in Madison is awesome and there are some very unique to Madison restaurants. The dining food on campus is ordinary but edible.
What to do for fun Go to the free festivals, bike rides, swimming in Lake Mendota, free movies, farmer's market, the Henry Vilas Zoo. There is no limit of things to do on a college budget.
Bang for the buck I am getting the education I want for a decent price. The quality of the education is great for the price I pay.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus There are some unique cheers at games that you can only learn by going. It is customary to do a lake jump at the beginning and end of the year. Seniors will sit on Abe's lap. There is a giant snowball fight every year.
Great for these types of students There is something for every type of person.
Clubs and Activities There are literally hundreds of student organizations. From cheese eating to hip hop, if there isn't a club, you can make it.
Campus Safety There are lots of people all the time and it is well lit. I have not heard of anything happening to anyone.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences UW Wisconsin two year colleges are a great value. The campus is small, the classes are small, and the highly accredited professors can provide personal attention. It is also very inexpensive.
Tips for prospective students Make sure to ask your adviser for the associate degree requirements before signing up for the second semester, as it is not given to you but is really handy to have. Don't take a Kleiman history class your first semester if you can help it.
Academic Rigor The professors are definitely knowledgeable and provide a challenge to students who are willing to work hard for good grades. It is not so hard to get A's if you attend class and do the homework.
Dorm Life no dorms
Food and Dining There are no real restaurants within walking distance and the food on campus is ridiculously overpriced.
What to do for fun We love to hijack the TV and watch movies or play rock band. I'm a huge fan of the YMCA in town and the disc golf course.
Bang for the buck If great academics for less money is your goal, I would highly recommend UW Wisconsin two year campuses. If you are going into a specialized field, maybe not so much as there are few specialized professors.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus I love the arboretum and gigantic lawns for ultimate cantaloupe.
Great for these types of students Why pay $12000 to take the same gen eds at a bigger college? Take your math and English at a small college and save yourself some money.
Clubs and Activities There are many clubs, considering the size of the campus, but few members.
Campus Safety We leave our stuff laying around all the time. Everyone knows everyone, so we watch out for each other.
