Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot All of the professors here are amazing! I truly enjoy going to class. They're witty and help you with anything you need help with. The student reviews help out a lot as well. There are always Teacher's Aids to help with any questions you might have. Blackboard also allows the students in the class to communicate; which has been great to help organize study groups for upcoming papers, quizzes, or tests.
Am enjoying being here Logan is a great place to be! Its a small campus so you can find your way around easily, and its great being in the mountains. There are a lot of things to do and you met a lot of diverse and great people.
Bang for the buck For the type of education you get, you get a great deal on it. Kids from all over the U.S. praise how great of a deal Utah State is for the education you receive.
Tips for prospective students My advice: Study early, study often, and take advatage of every study session you can! The reviews are great to go to, but don't forget to be social and have fun!
Great for these types of students Utah State is great for anyone who loves the outdoors. There is hiking, a ski resort close by and a lot of fun activities every week. There is something always going on, on campus! Hockey games, football, basketball, Utah State is just a fun place to be!

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot I always am learning something new. Whether its in class with the great professors here or even if its just being away from home and even learning from all my fellow students. Utah State really has a great atmosphere for learning.
Am enjoying being here When I went home for the summer I couldn't wait to come back! Its so fun! The people here are so great. I have never met anyone who is mean. Its really easy to find your way around. There are a lot of fun activities always going on! I love meeting all the people that I have met!
Bang for the buck I believe that Utah State is one of the cheapest University's in Utah. With all the raises with school prices Utah State only went up 200 dollars. The books well those aren't so cheap but there are LOTS of other resources to get books. Housing is pretty easy to find. There are LOTS of apartments to choose from and they are pretty cheap. On Campus housing is pretty great for the first year.
Tips for prospective students This is a great school and I would recommend it to anyone. It has such a great atmosphere and the people and professors are great. There is so much to do up here to get involved. If you do decide to attend Utah State I would live on campus your first year and just get acquainted with the area.
Great for these types of students Utah State is really actually great for all kinds of students. There are lots of resources if you struggle in something and its free! Like there is math tutoring and English help and there are these things that are so wonderful called SI's and they are basically a study group and they are way nice and just about every class has them!

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot All the classes I have enrolled in, and am currently enrolled in have been very helpful to my learning. With maybe one or two exceptions, my professors have been great: very willing to help and knowledgeable about the material they are teaching.
Am enjoying being here Dorm life on campus is great! I live in the Living Learning Center which is a very nice place to live. The RA's are great and the housing accommodations are fantastic! There is always something to do on campus and in the community so I always have something to do!
Bang for the buck As an out-of-state student and kin of alumni, I was awarded a great scholarship that covered all out-of-state fees. The quality of my education, the social benefits, and the location of USU are all well worth what I pay!

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot I am loving my classes here! One of my classes is kind of confusing, but I am still learning a lot. The professors here really know how to teach and still keep the subject interesting. I actually enjoy going to my classes!
Am enjoying being here There is a perfect balance between a study environment and a social scene. Everyone is super nice and outgoing. The school spirit is also really cool. The sports games are one of my favorite things to go to. I found my perfect college!
Bang for the buck There are good scholarships here and the tuition is definitely worth it.
Tips for prospective students One of the things that I am really glad I did is finding a job on campus. It's great because your job is right where your classes are! I have also really liked living on campus because then you are in the center of everything and have the chance to participate in a lot of evening activities.
Great for these types of students People who are ready to learn and want to have that perfect balance of studying and social life. You also need to be ready to cheer like crazy at the sports games!!!

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot Every Professor I have had so far has just been unbelievable. They all are so passionate about the subject they are teaching and therefore it makes it much more interesting for the students.
Am enjoying being here I can't even explain how much I love Utah State. It is so much fun and I am receiving such a great education. There are many activities to get the students involved. The USU basketball and football games are the best. It is amazing to see how much school spirit our school has when you go to these games and it is so much fun to be a part of it. The campus is beautiful. I love it because it is not too big, but also not to small either.
Bang for the buck I am getting every dollars worth that I have spent in going to Utah State.
Tips for prospective students I live in some apartments down the street from the University campus and across the street from the Spectrum and the Stadium. It is the perfect location because you are still close to the school, and also all of the sporting events are right across the street.
Great for these types of students Utah State University is a great place if you don't want to get lost in the crowd of a large university. Although it is big here, you always feel like you are important and a part of the school.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot The classes are very discussion and lecture based so you always are learning. The professors are very helpful and friendly. They want you to succeed as much as you do! It is easy to go and talk to them at anytime. They are always willing to sit down and talk to you about class if you do not understand a topic.
Am enjoying being here I love attending USU! The education is amazing, the cost is great, and the people are so friendly! There is always something to do on campus, the gyms are in amazing conditions with top-notch equipment and the people are open, willing to help, and always wanting to make new friends!
Bang for the buck I pay out-of-state tuition at USU and it is an amazing price! I pay as much going to USU as I would in-state tuition back home! Gaining residency is easy to do and then the cost is unbeatable, less than $4,000!!! For the amout of money you pay here, you get so much more out of it, USU hosts so many free activities and events it's incredible! Definitely worth it!
Tips for prospective students ~Explore the campus! There are so many little secret places on campus, it's so much fun to explore and enjoy!
~Check out the Fraternities and Sororities! The Greek system here is filled with so many great and friendly people, it's a great way to get involved and have a home and family away from home!
~Get involved! There are so many clubs on campus, join one! It's a great way to meet friends with your interests and to have something to do!Great for these types of students Great for friendly people, who love having something to do! For students who want a top-notch education without the massive cost! And for people who want to have fun and make friends that will last a lifetime!!!

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot The professors I have been able to have so far have been incredible and so willing to help me out. I also have appreciated the counselors that help me work out my schedules. The quality of learning here is so top-knotch, I enjoy the range of classes and labs offered here on campus.
Am enjoying being here Utah State provides the best all-around college experience! The city of Logan is the perfect atmosphere; it is truly a college town. There is always so much to do and experience, you can never be bored! It is such a beautiful, secluded area but there is always something fun going on- on and off campus!
Bang for the buck I have never regretted making the choice to make Utah State my home and my school! I have friends who have attended others schools in and out of state and they are always complaining about something. I have always been able to find the help and resources I've needed to continue my education and I am so pleased with the way I am treated here. Scholarships are relatively simple to receive here as well, as long as you are up to the hard-work and dedication that Utah State is known for.
Tips for prospective students Apply early and get all of your high school credits in order and send your AP Test scores to Utah State first. I would also look into living on campus at least for your first year, it helps you immerse yourself in the Utah State campus life and make the connections with peers and professors necessary for a good educational experience. Also get to know your professors, talk with them often! Their office hours are there for you to keep your education on track!
Great for these types of students Independent, fun loving students who aren't afraid to work hard and then have fun when the day is done :)

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot You can find some great teachers at USU. A lot of the time you should take a class based on the teacher, not the subject and you can learn so much! They offer a wide range of classes and you don't have to start with just generals, you can mix in generals with classes related to your major.
Am enjoying being here Utah State is so much fun. All the students are so welcoming and the A team is great. They help out with everything and there is so much to get involved with. Campus isn't that big and it's easy to find your way around. There is so much to do throughout the year and basketball and hockey games are the best!
Bang for the buck Utah State is cheap, comparatively. The on campus dorms are nice and cheap and you get all utilities paid for. You can get lots of discounts in town cause everyone is an Aggie!
Tips for prospective students Get involved. Join clubs and played intramural sports, they are definitely the best! Go out and meet lots of people but also find enough time to study, it's not like high school, you really have to study for finals. Logan is a college town and you get discounts everywhere downtown and everyone is rooting for you and the basketball and hockey games are awesome! It is definitely a fun school and I will be back for 3 more years. Also, remember to stay on top of school work. I know you want to enjoy the college experience but part of that is getting your work done first.
Great for these types of students Utah State has a great aviation program. That is what I am in and I love it! The atmosphere at the airport is awesome and the instructors are great. They also have a good art program, that is what my roommate is in and she loves it. They specialize and many things and have a great engineering program and agriculture. You can find almost everything to fit your needs. It is also a friendly, social college. There is always something going on and a club for everybody.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot There are so many option for majors, minors, clubs, activities, study session, it's amazing how much you get to choose from and learn about! It brings a lot of perspective to the average student because they are able to interact with people from a vast field of cultures. There are Many sessions and groups for studying and reviewing that it's easier to understand the concepts in classes.
Am enjoying being here I love Logan! It can be very cold in the winter, but it is so worth it. The mountains, trees and bodies of water are amazing and the school is set on top of a hill so students get a wonderful view of the city and surrounding areas. There are so many opportunities in town, such as ice blocking down Old Main, many restaurants and shopping areas, Aggie ice cream, becoming a True Aggie, events on the Quad or in the TSC, and simply meeting new people Every day. It's crazy cool!
Bang for the buck Utah State is one of the cheaper schools in Utah, while still being one of the highest in quality. There are many opportunities for scholarships at the beginning of school and then through whichever major you choose.
Tips for prospective students Apply early and apply for all scholarships you have available! It's always worth the risk.
Bring your warm coats!
Expect to make lots of new friends and have a good experience.Great for these types of students Engineering, sciences, music, art, business, education. It's a very well-rounded school.

Categories Rating Comments Tips for prospective students Just be sure to stay on top of your work! That is the hardest thing I found about starting college! The campus is not that big so it is really easy to get around. In the winters make sure that you have good shoes, because it gets pretty icey! It is a really fun school to attend though! The classes are generally pretty small so it makes it easier to pay attention and ask questions!
Great for these types of students Utah State is a social school. It seems like there is always something going on. Make sure to attend as many things as possible because it really helps you get a feel of the school and lets you meet new people! But, at the same time there is always a place where you can hide away for a few hours and get some good studying in. I really loved it!

Will enjoy being here There are always activities going on! Everybody acts like they know everybody, and all of the students get along. I like the feeling that campus has.
Bang for the buck The good thing about this school is the amount of scholarships they have available. There is a crazy amount of financial aid available and they are willing to work with you to finance your education.
Tips for prospective students Don't be afraid to apply for scholarships. They have a lot of money available if you take the opportunity to apply for it.

Am enjoying being here Lots of activities to do on campus, and in Logan.

Great for these types of students Engineering and Education majors must check it out. They have some of the best programs around.

Am enjoying being here I have known USU my whole life growing up here, Going to the games is insane!! moving onto campus is just as fun and meeting new people while getting involved, made my college experience even better
Bang for the buck Yeah USU is amazing, with just two scholarships, i was able to pay my tuition and fees, and get extra in return for me to pay my books and anything else i needed
Tips for prospective students If you choose USU, you wont regret it. GET INVOLVED, this is how you meet people.
Do things that you have never done before, it is a way to open yourself up to new experiences
Learn about who you really are. It gets you to open up to new opportunities that you thought you never had before
and If you come for the snow, even better. Over all USU is one of the best schools i have gone to.Great for these types of students Anyone who loves the snow is always welcome here, there is a reason why Utah is know for the greatest snow on earth. Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot Utah State University touts a friendly atmosphere, intimate campus, world-class research faculty and ready opportunities to work with them, and accessible professors. While the professors are readily available and glad to explain difficult courses during office hours, my professors explain concepts very poorly in class. Instruction seems to emphasize superficial examples and applications, and the deeper theory is rarely taught. My electrical engineering and statics lectures are 100% example, 0% theory, and the required textbooks only superficially explain things. The science professors are much better at explaining theory, but still emphasize sample problems instead of symbolic exploration.
However, learning opportunities outside of class are much better. Though only a freshman, I’ve been able to work with the university’s Microgravity Research Team from day one, so I’ve picked up a little heat transfer theory and have written ten pages of the team’s proposal for a 2011 experiment. Almost any faculty member will set you up in a research project if you ask them, or at least tell you what to study so that you can contribute as soon as possible. They are happy to accept volunteer lab workers.
The USU library is an excellent learning environment. It has quiet zones, group study rooms, several large open computer labs and conversational study areas, and an excellent collection. Besides, it boasts a flood of natural light in the daytime, so you don’t feel locked up and confined inside.
Overall, I’d say USU is a pretty average learning environment. The facilities are good and the opportunities to learn outside of class are great, but these strengths are balanced by its remarkably poor lecturers.Am enjoying being here I live on the sixth floor of the on-campus dorms at USU. They are smelly and grungy. The elevators break down. The Wi-Fi is horrible. Quiet hours are routinely violated. The dining hall by the dorms is dirty and smelly, and the food is lukewarm and greasy.
Needless to say, I don’t enjoy where I’m living. Campus is very flat and compact, so there’s never any difficulty in crossing campus in the ten minutes between classes. That can be pretty nice, especially when the weather’s bad. However, that also means that USU’s campus lacks the large, beautiful arboreal spaces several other campuses in Utah have, and it also lacks many of the other facilities, amenities, and on-campus diversions that other Utah colleges have. The Performing Arts Center and Kent Concert Hall maintain a full schedule, so there’s almost always a good concert for a Friday night.
Logan Canyon is just east of campus, and has many interesting day hikes to go on with friends. From my perspective as a big-city kid, Logan (pop. 50,000) has little to recommend it. Downtown consists mostly of bookshops, bike shops, and restaurants, with a smattering of historic buildings here and there. Interesting as they might be, bookshops and old houses aren’t worth going downtown for every weekend.
The student population at USU is very friendly, with a curious mix of outgoingness and shyness. 85% of the population is LDS, so there’s less skanky clothing and fewer piercings than on many other campuses. This also means the student body is pretty quiet. The police blotter doesn’t reel with accounts of binge drinkers and streakers, which is nice.
As for sports: USU football loses. Football games are no fun if you go for the game. USU basketball wins. Basketball games are great fun. ‘Nuff said.Bang for the buck If you’re going to move away from home to go to a Utah college and cost is a concern, USU is the place to go. Its tuition is lower than that of either Brigham Young University or the University of Utah, and it is more generous with scholarships than either. USU gives one year of half tuition for a 3.3 GPA and 28 ACT; the U. of U. only gives a semester of half tuition for the same, and BYU gives almost nothing to many applicants. USU has much lower tuition than many other schools of the same quality, and Logan's cost of living is also pretty low.
However, if you're looking to save money, DO NOT LIVE ON CAMPUS. The on-campus housing costs as much as even the most expensive off-campus student apartments, even though the buildings are old and poorly maintained, and the on-campus housing contract is quite restrictive. Living in the dorms, with a meal plan, is nearly the most expensive housing available, in terms of total cost, and you're restricted to dining hall food and a small dorm room. Go to USU, but FIND OFF-CAMPUS HOUSING.Tips for prospective students If the University of Utah or BYU accept you and give decent scholarships, go there. USU is a good school, but the U. of U. and BYU are better schools in general.
If you go to USU, get off-campus housing.
Get involved in clubs or research groups. USU has many clubs of all sorts, and they're a good diversion from study. Most professors on campus are more than willing to accept freshmen into their research groups, so you can gain hands-on experience with the scientific process from day one. The upperclassmen and graduate students in these groups are almost always very friendly, and may become your best friends.
Go to concerts. The Kent Concert Hall and Caine-Wanlass Performance Hall have a busy schedule of fine music. It's a great way to spend Friday night.
Take advantage of the library. It's possibly the best library you'll ever have access to. Learn every nook and cranny of it.
Make friends. Don't be grumpy.
And of course, work hard in your classes. Study, study, study, and find a job if you have time. There is no substitute for work and study.Great for these types of students USU is ideal for students of limited financial means who wish to maximize opportunities to participate in undergraduate research, who want a moderately-sized campus of 15-20,000 students with moderately fancy facilities, and who want mostly LDS surroundings without most of BYU's quirkiness. That mostly means modest, clean, and courteous classmates. For all that, though, USU has a very diverse campus and offers an interesting international experience. USU is nationally ranked in elementary and special education, engineering, stringed instruments, and several other areas, so it's a good school to consider if you're interested in those things.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot All students have to take general education classes. Luckily for me I skipped almost all of them thanks to AP haha but I took ENGL 1010 (Basic English class if you didn't pass their ACT/SAT/AP requirements to skip) and the class was useless in teaching me new concepts and most classes were taught by grad students. Some of whom don't really care that much about teaching this particular class. Overall the gen ed classes are MASSIVE and they are getting bigger by the year. Our budget is being slashed thanks to the state congress. Some smaller majors are taking a beating to the point that they don't offer intro classes for some semesters.
Overall it depends on your major and what you make of your time here. Things won't be handed to you on a silver platter but if you want to learn and create an effective resume. USU offers you that opportunity.
The environment over all is one of productivity. I am in the Political Science department and it is very well structured.Am enjoying being here I come with a unique perspective. See I am an Atheist and USU is about 85% LDS. Though the people are fantastically nice and caring I found myself having a much harder time feeling like I belonged. But hey the social structure is mostly irrelevant because there are so many people here that you will find friends you can relate to.
Oh and the school is around 80% white. Heads up if your uncomfortable with homogeneous peopleBang for the buck Oh hell yea USU is cheap. The tuition is fantastic and financial aid office is extremely helpful with answering questions and resolving problems. The housing the cheap and decent while the classes offer are solid with professors truly caring about how well their class is doing. Great bang for your buck.
Tips for prospective students Ask yourself what you want to find in a college. If you see yourself partying, DO NOT GO HERE. Ever since that Freshman died due to alcohol poisoning last year the party scene has since quieted down. If you got rejected from BYU, we do not want you here. If you are not LDS, consider how well you would live surrounded by LDS folks. Oh and make sure you check with your majors office to see how well your AP credit would transfer towards your major. I took 11 AP test but only 3 went to affect my major. Wish I had known that before lol
Great for these types of students White LDS folk who have been living in Utah most of their lives.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences Utah State University is a great place to attend if you like to be outside (during the spring and summer of course).
There are many things to do on campus.
Classes are remotely easy to find.Tips for prospective students Always apply as soon as possible if you are wishing to attend.
Academic Rigor The strictness of Utah State University is very good, the staff always keeps students in line and doing the right things.
Dorm Life The residential staff is very kind and respectable, living on campus is an enjoyable experience.
Food and Dining There are various places to go if you are feeling hungry. The Hub, The Quick Stop, Aggie Ice Cream, ect.
What to do for fun You can go to the recreational center to do fun activities or you can just go for a walk around campus to enjoy the scenery.
Bang for the buck Utah State University is definitely worth the investment.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus True Aggie Night. Takes place during a full moon, you must kiss an True Aggie on the A statue to become a True Aggie.
Great for these types of students Utah State University is great for students who enjoy the outdoors and walking.
Clubs and Activities There are various clubs and activities that you can attend on campus.
Greek Life There are eight sororities and fraternities at Utah State University. I personally am not a part of them so I can't really say anything about them.
Campus Safety Utah State University is a very safe place to attend, there are various places on campus where you can press a button in the event of an emergency.

Categories Rating Comments Will learn a lot Utah State has many projects and experiments that are open to undergraduate students for research. The facilities are great and the professors are all very knowledgeable and helpful.
Will enjoy being here The location is amazing! Campus is in the beautiful mountains with fantastic skiing in the winter. It doesn't get too hot in the summer and there are plenty of activities (especially outdoor activities) to participate in.
Bang for the buck Utah State's engineering college is one of the best in the nation. They regularly compete with schools like MIT and Columbia and their Aerospace team took first place in a national competition this past year, beating out MIT (who took second). It's definitely an amazing program, without the private school and ivy league cost!
Tips for prospective students If you like the warm sun, make sure you bring a jacket :)
Great for these types of students Engineering Majors, Elementary Education Majors, people who like to do things outdoors, people who like to have fun :)

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot I have experienced a lot of personal and academic growth so far. While the classes for my degree in Electrical Engineering are challenging my professors have taught the subjects well and I have felt very prepared for my tests.
Am enjoying being here I have enjoyed my time at USU very much. There are plenty of on campus activities to attend as well local activities in Cache Valley. The campus grounds are well kept and it is fun to just walk around to see the flower gardens, these are most appreciated if you happen to have summer classes here. I also really like the Merrill Cazier library; it provides a very good environment to study and has a lot of resources. You can also request reading materials to be transferred to the library from a variety of outside sources, giving you amazing access to any research material you might need.
Bang for the buck Tuition at USU is comparable to University of Utah and Brigham Young University, two other universities in the state. When compared to tuition costs in many other states USU tuition is substantially less. I believe the quality of education to be very good for the cost.
Tips for prospective students I would suggest getting admitted early in the year if you are planning on attending fall semester as it takes a little time to get all of your paper work submitted. There is a lot of affordable student housing available near the campus but the waiting lists can be a little long for some places so do not delay your search for housing. Overall there are many opportunities to enjoy the student life on campus and in the surrounding community, don't be shy explore the valley and enjoy the local culture.
Great for these types of students USU is a wonderful opportunity for a variety of students. Cache Valley provides a safe friendly environment for students that are moving away from their family to attend college. Students can gain a wonderful education while separated from their families as they learn the ins and outs of making their own life decisions.

Categories Rating Comments Will learn a lot I got to visit Logan twice this summer and I absolutely love it! I am a transfer student from Virginia and am sooo unbelievably excited to attend Utah State. I just love everything about Logan and USU. I also went to new student orientation and was approached by so many nice people which makes me love this school even more. On top of that, the drive to Logan is very scenic; a picture perfect drive through the valley is breathtaking.
Will enjoy being here I am very happy with the decision I made to transfer to Utah State. I cannot wait to get involved with clubs, attend an Aggie basketball game and explore all there is to do in Logan.
Bang for the buck Though paying out-of-state tuition is a bit of a bummer, applying for residency to get in-state tuition is a pretty simple process. Besides, the price you pay is worth every penny.
Tips for prospective students Apply early-for enrollment and for scholarships.
Don't be afraid to meet new people and do something outside of your comfort zone. Logan and USU is a great place to explore new things.
Get involved! There are so many activities and traditions to participate on campus.
Study hard and have fun!Great for these types of students Anyone. USU is a great, well-rounded school that caters to everyones interest.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot Many have certain stigmas about state schools, but Utah State truly allows students to excel regardless of what degrees or majors they choose to pursue. You absolutely will reap what you sow, the opportunities are abundant. I've participated in Undergraduate Research, am active in the Honors Program and am thriving in the energy that permeates this University town.
Am enjoying being here Being from out of state, Utah took a little while to adjust to, but I've found my niche, and absolutely love living and studying in Logan. While the diversity may not be record breaking, it's definitely there if you look. The clubs and extracurricular activities that are available are plentiful and the great outdoors are literally minutes away. I spend my weekends climbing and snowboarding in the canyons.
Bang for the buck The statistics say it all. USU students graduate with the least amount of debt in the nation. The university is also a Federal Grant college, with many prestigious awards and research labs on campus, including the cloning of the first mule, and more experiments in orbit than any University in the world!
Tips for prospective students Visit the school, and don't rule it out if you're looking for prestige. USU was originally a 'safety' school for me, but after visiting and attending, I couldn't be happier anywhere else.
Great for these types of students If you're looking for a party school, you may want to opt out of USU. The campus is dry, although opportunities to go out and have a good time are available if you know where to look. The school is great for those who are extremely studious, to those who just want to gain an excellent education. On campus activities are great, there is always something going on. If you love the outdoors and the ability to drive ten minutes to a great lead climb, look into visiting USU.

Bang for the buck I was able to go there and I am a poor child.
Tips for prospective students Get on the ball and apply. Don´t wait for others to do it for you. If the world just handed you money it would be cool, but it doesn't. Best wishes!
Great for these types of students If you don´t mind the cold, or you really like to be loud, love the color blue, and are awesome.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot The classes here at Utah State are interesting and enjoyable. As I am going into the field of education, it is extremely beneficial that there is an elementary school on-campus. Not to mention there are several service opportunities available here at USU. Just about any area of volunteer work is available. There are opportunities for volunteer service in education, healthcare, and community service.
Am enjoying being here Utah State University is a social school with lots of opportunities to meet new people and try new things. No matter what your area of interest, whether it be swing dancing, theatre, or sports, there is something here for you!
Bang for the buck This is a good school with a good environment, so money spend here is well-spent!

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot When you take a class at USU, you learn what you expected to learn from the class, and more. There are also many helpful services available, such as tutoring programs, group study rooms, computer labs, etc.
Am enjoying being here There are always things going on around the USU campus. There are tons of clubs to join, and lots of fun things to do (such as a Humans vs. Zombies nerf war every semester!) You'll never be bored, and make lots of friends.
Bang for the buck USU is very good about giving out scholarships and financial aid, and definitely has comparatively good tuition prices. Everything you pay in tuition and student fees comes back to you in the form of classes and school-provided services, such as a free Health Center (doctor's office), many gyms, and free bicycle rental.
Tips for prospective students Live on-campus your first year, and room with a few people you don't know. It's a great way to make friends. I live currently live on-campus, and everyone in my building leaves their doors open when they are home, so you can just walk in and say hello, and very often, people hang out in the lounge or in the halls.
Great for these types of students USU is great for those who want to get away from home, but not too far. It is also great for those who want many social opportunities, and awesome academic opportunity. USU has a wide variety of very good academic programs, such as the Huntsman School of Business, which is a well-known and prestigious school in the Business world.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot I love going to class! I love it because I know that everything I am learning is useful! The teachers are witty and extremely helpful! Every teacher I have had has always been available to me for help outside of class. They really want you to succeed! And there are these great things called SI (supplemental instructor). Basically you have the option of going to another lecture given by a student who has previously taken the class to get even more help with what you're learning in class. I did this for my biology class and it really helped me to grasp the material because I was having it explained to me multiple times.
Am enjoying being here Utah State is AMAZING!!! I'm a transfer student to USU and it's the best decision I have ever made! You wont go wrong if you choose Utah State! The students are friendly, there are tons of clubs to get involved in, and plus who doesn't love some Aggie basketball and Aggie ice cream?
Bang for the buck Utah State is extremely affordable! Even if you're a student from out of state there are scholarships available to you that help you to get in state tuition.
Tips for prospective students Get involved! Being involved enhances your college experience and helps you to make so many friends! Almost every major as a club, there are service clubs, leadership clubs, and even meditation clubs! There is something for everyone! Just find a club to be involved with and go for it!
Great for these types of students Utah State is perfect for students who love to learn but also love to have fun at the same time! Utah State really is the perfect balance of both! You wont go wrong if you choose Utah State!! There is something for everyone up here! Go Aggies!!

Am enjoying being here USU has a lot of school spirit and pride. Once and Aggie, always an Aggie!!
Bang for the buck Even while paying out of state tuition, the price is still amazing compared to most places that offer a quality education.
Tips for prospective students Buy a good, warm jacket and lots of winter clothes.
Great for these types of students Everyone

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot Education can't be beat when you come to Utah State. Not only do the professors know what they are talking about but you've got extra help all over campus. Large classes have outside extra review from people just like you that have been there and done that - as far as taking the course you're in and done well in it.
Am enjoying being here It's not just an academic college it's constantly providing awesome social activities to sport anyone's interests. Football, basketball, and hockey games being on top of events one should attend. But hey.. if that isn't where your heart is they've got poetry and a drink, art museum, musical concerts, and so much more. Find you place here where the Aggies are always blue.
Bang for the buck Any college is going to have expenses, after expenses, after expenses. However, price around and you'll find that Utah State has one of the lowest tuition rates among other leading Universities of it's kind. Not to mention they're always trying to find ways that you as an Aggie can get discounts and save a few bucks here and there.
Tips for prospective students Take each course by the horns and drag the bull down. Or .. just be on top of it and actually do the reading assignments, attend class and most importantly LISTEN.
Great for these types of students Any type of student can find their spot here at Utah State. Highly recommend it to anyone interested in furthering their education. :)

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot I am learning so much at Utah State. They have a wonderful staff! I have mostly just taken generals so far, but the courses go in depth to expand knowledge AND understand it all.
Am enjoying being here The campus is beautiful and the people are so fun. : ) I like the courses and teachers, too. It's very easy to get involved and there is a lot of school spirit and school pride. The basketball games, especially, are a blast. There are plenty of different clubs, and it's just fun to be random on campus. There are also tons of activities to do off campus, like hiking, skating, cliff jumping, country swing dancing, etc, etc, etc!
Bang for the buck Considering other colleges in the state, Utah State is pretty decent tuition-wise. They also have lots of scholarship opportunities to help out on the cost of school. Housing isn't too bad either. There is good priced housing both on and off campus.
Tips for prospective students This is a school where you get a real 'college experience.' You can only really get the college experience if you're willing to work for it. You have to work academically, and you have to be willing to go outside your comfort area and meet new people. But believe me, it's all worth it!
Great for these types of students USU is for people who want the true college experience. This school is great for students who are dedicated and want a good education, but be able to have fun at the same time. : )

Categories Rating Comments Did learn a lot I would have learned more if their classes were more ADA compliant.
Did enjoy being here I hated it so much, I left and will never go back. People were amazingly rude and intolerant, it was very hard to get around in my wheelchair. There was a man there who was harassing and stalking not only myself but three other girls that I know of, and it wasn't taken seriously. I missed a final because they didn't plow the sidewalks and my professor thought that wasn't a good enough reason to miss it. The good things there were far and few between.
Bang for the buck Rude people, hard to get around in a wheelchair, safety concerns and little help from others. It isn't what I was hoping for at all.
Tips for prospective students If you have a physical disability, especially one related to walking, you should try to get in somewhere else.
Great for these types of students Able bodied, social people, probably better for guys. If you are in the CNR you should have some farming experience or it will be harder to fit in.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences Utah State is full of tradition and pride. The people are so nice and the size is perfect for meeting new people all the time while still being able to see the ones you already know often. Aggie Basketball is the best thing you'll ever see!
Tips for prospective students Get involved! There are so many resources and activities available for you to use that you already pay for with your tuition. So attend and use them! Don't be afraid to do what you want. Whether you need quiet time in the library or a break for some time on the quad--you'll find what you need.
Academic Rigor The classes take work, but if you're willing to take time and energy, you'll get a good grade.
Dorm Life On-campus housing is great! I've never met a bad RA and the people are a lot of fun! The bus system is wonderful and can take you anywhere on campus--even some off-campus apartments are shuttle-accessible.
Food and Dining There are many different places to eat on campus and they are all pretty good. Students work at all of them. Getting a meal plan is a bit pricey, but if you are on campus a lot and can't cook for yourself then it's worth it.
What to do for fun So many things! There's always something going on somewhere, especially at the beginning of the school year. There's events all the time. If there's nothing on campus, the city of Logan has bowling, food, a great mall, the canyon close by for camping, hiking, and fires--just so many things to participate in.
Bang for the buck Tuition is expensive to say the least. But that pays for so many resources available on campus that are free throughout the year. The new recreation center is being built, so that adds dollars onto tuition for the next few years to people that aren't even going to be able to use it because they'll be gone and graduated before it's finished.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Become a True Aggie! Finals week traditions, Aggie athletics are so much fun--so much unity and fun to be a part of.
Great for these types of students Anyone! There are countless clubs to be a part of--there's something for EVERYONE here.
Campus Safety Campus police is available all the time!

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences Despite the weather, the campus is great and the people are very friendly here. I can't imagine a better campus environment and the class sizes for specialty courses are reasonably small. I wouldn't want to go anywhere else.
Tips for prospective students Bring warm clothes and a longboard. There is a good balance between social life and schoolwork here. Make sure you check reviews for teachers to know which teacher will work best for your learning style.
Academic Rigor In the mechanical engineering department, it is definitely an emphasis to spend a lot of time studying material and most teachers I've had are very willing to help answer questions regarding the class content. They want us to have a well-rounded education and encourage working individually and in groups to solve problems.
Dorm Life Never lived on campus, but I've heard good things about most places. Some places require you purchase a meal plan though (tends to be expensive).
Food and Dining There are so many places to go to eat here in the city of Logan including on campus. I prefer not to eat on campus however, the costs are a bit higher I think.
What to do for fun Longboarding, rock climbing, hiking, skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, canoeing, anything outdoors. There are always parties and plenty of opportunities for socializing.
Bang for the buck I know that the tuition is cheaper than most places and definitely the cost of living is pretty low. I wouldn't recommend every paying out of state tuition though, that is a rip-off.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus True Aggie Night every Full Moon. Between midnight and one in the morning people make out on the A table while a surrounding crowd cheers you on to become a true aggie.
Great for these types of students People that love socializing and being outdoors. Also for people that love the cold. Well known programs include engineering, education, and music.
Clubs and Activities There are clubs for everything here, even meditation. Volleyball, going to basketball games is a big thing, LDS institute is big here, free food, Engineering clubs (rocket club, concrete canoe, etc.).
Greek Life No comment, not to much experience with the Greek organization.
Campus Safety I have always felt safe on campus. Logan is a pretty small city and it has a low crime rate. There are campus police all the time if you ever need help.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences Utah State is home. Sure, the academic portion of the university is superb, however, Utah State offers much more than an education. It offers involvement, leadership, service opportunities, companionship, character building, and the feeling of being part of something more.
Tips for prospective students Live on campus your first year, preferably, south campus. The friendships I've made have meant the world to me. Living on campus can be just as cheap as living off. Don't be afraid to be in a ghetto building. That's part of the college experience. Also, do your homework. Not only the homework from your classes, but look into finding the best deals for food, books, and housing. Saving money becomes a lot easier when you do your research.
Academic Rigor Utah State offers many great programs, many of which are highly ranked across the country. The Elementary Education program is in the top 2% for all U.S. colleges, and the Engineering and Buissness programs are also excellent. The only down side is that the University does not have a Health program. Pre-Health studies can be accomplished here, but after those courses are completed, students may need to transfer to another school to complete the program.
Dorm Life Living in the dorms is such a great opportunity, especially at Utah State. I would recommend anywhere in South Campus, because the location is unbeatable, the prices are the lowest on campus, and the community is amazing. In fact, my building (Reeder Hall) was voted best community in the West; that includes all universities west of the Mississippi. Everyone is very social, and you can always find something to do, or someone to hang out with. My best friends were made in the dorms. If you are an incoming freshman, not living in the dorms would be a mistake. My college experience has been tremendous, and I have dorm life to thank for that.
Food and Dining Another reason why South Campus is a good choice, is because you have your own kitchen, and therefore, are not required to have a meal plan. I work at the Marketplace, where everyone goes for their meal plans. Yes, the food is pretty good, but you get tired of it after a while, and it is overall, cheaper, to make your own meals. If you choose to go with a meal plan, there are a lot of different dining options at Utah State. Places, such as the Quad Side Cafe, are great for a quick and delicious meal.
What to do for fun The great thing about Utah State, is that it rests within a college town. That means that there are a lot of fun activities and discounts for college students. Logan has a lot to offer. Some of my favorite activities include Country Swing Dancing every Monday and Wednesday night, Karaoke at Pizza Pie Cafe every Thursday night, 80's Roller Skating every Tuesday night, bowling, free concerts, dances, Institute parties, and plays.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus The most well-know tradition is True Aggie Night. Every full moon, people gather around theA statue, and take their turn kissing upon it. They then get a True Aggie care that states the name of the person they kissed.
Great for these types of students There is something for everyone. There is never a dull moment in Logan.
Clubs and Activities Get involved. There are way to many clubs to count, but my favorite are ASUSU and the Country Swing Club.
Greek Life This school offers many different Fraternities and Sororities, though, I am not a part of any.
Campus Safety The USU Police are amazing. They are there for any needs a college student may need.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences I absolutely love Utah State University. There is no better place to feel at home away from home. I would rate it a 4.5 out of 5.
Tips for prospective students I would go to Utah State if I were you. The atmosphere is extremely fun and yet the education you get is high class. It's best of both worlds.
What to do for fun Things to do that are fun at Utah State- Aggie Boys Basketball & Football games, clean the sink at Angies, there are lots of things to do in the fall like the pumpkin walk, also hiking, fishing, skiing/snowboarding, biking, EVERYTHING!
Bang for the buck You will not regret going to this school. It gives you opportunities and fun for a life time. The people are great even in the Logan community. It's such a great college town. I have loved being up there. The price you pay for this school is good for the great education you receive from it.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus True Aggie Night. It's where everyone gathers around this A platform, you stand and line and wait for your turn to kiss on the A to become a true aggie.
Great for these types of students Utah State is great for any type of STUDENT!
Clubs and Activities There is so much to do. Because it is a small college town there has been lots provided. There is about any group you can possibly think of & if it doesn't have the club you can make it. That's what is so great about Utah State they are open for new fun things and groups.
Campus Safety Utah State is very safe. Not once did I feel not safe. Like I said it feels like a home a way from home, comfortable & safe!

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences Campus is beautiful. Greek life is amazing. Logan is a fun little town.
Tips for prospective students Don't be afraid to put yourself out there. I was very lonely my first year in Logan and then joined a sorority and now I couldn't be happier.
Academic Rigor I am extremely academically motivated and have gotten along with all my professors and have never had a problem getting help if it is needed.
Dorm Life I have personally never lived in a dorm, but going into friend's dorms, they seem way to small to be jamming that many people in one apartment.
Food and Dining USU has quite a few places to eat on campus, but Logan has a huge selection of very diverse places to eat that are fairly close to campus.
What to do for fun Beaver Ski / Snowboarding resort is just a short drive away and since Logan gets so much snow in the winter it is perfect. There are also a lot of off roading places in Logan that are fun to take a truck or 4-wheelers and drive around. The mouth of Logan canyon is right next to campus and it is a lot of fun to go up there and have a bonfire or go camping.
Bang for the buck I feel like tuition anywhere you go is going to feel extremely expensive because most people have never paid that much for anything before so it can be pretty overwhelming, but I feel like USU is fairly priced and is cheaper than most 4 year schools in Utah.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus TRUE AGGIE NIGHT! You get in line and when it is your turn you step onto our A and kiss someone who is already a true aggie and then you are a true aggie!
Great for these types of students USU seems to be great for any type of student. I have met so many people interested in so many different majors that I can't think of one type of student that USU wouldn't be able to accommodate.
Clubs and Activities We have so many different clubs and activities at USU that you have to literally be a hermit to not find something that fits you.
Greek Life Greek life is amazing. We are small, but growing steadily. We currently have 2 sororities and 4 fraternities that are NPC recognized. In the fall we will have one more fraternity colonizing at USU and are starting the process to get another sorority colonized on campus.
Campus Safety I have been on campus at all times of the day and night and have never felt uneasy or in danger.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences Utah State is an incredible university filled with teachers who love what they do and students who love attending the university. There are classes and majors ranging from many different areas with counselors willing to help in every area. The university is very focused on making the students happy from always having events planned to being willing to help in any way possible.
Tips for prospective students My biggest tip would be to start preparing now. No matter where you are going, have scholarships lined up, and don't give up now. Get involved in college! Get to know as many people as you can! Enjoy every day that you have there!
Academic Rigor The classes were not extremely hard, but they required work. I was never staying up all night trying to finish assignments, but I knew that there was always work I could be doing for a class. There was always a good balance of work that I had to do, but also be able to have free time and enjoy my friends.
Dorm Life I absolutely loved my roommates! My dorm was co-ed and I actually liked it a lot more than I expected to; all of the people were respectful to the rules and guidelines. I know that isn't guaranteed everywhere, but I haven't really heard many building problems. My biggest problem was with my resident assistant; she seemed to hate her job and everyone in the building, but other than that it was really easy to get along with anyone in the building. The only thing I would have changed would have been to have had more activities for the building as a whole.
Food and Dining I didn't really make use of on-campus dining that often, but my favorite was the Skyroom in the Taggart Student Center. The Skyroom is like a diamond in the rough; not many people know about it, but I love it! They have soup, salad, rolls, and dessert all for $7, but for $10 you can get all of that plus a real buffet. It's on the top floor of the building, overlooking campus, with a piano player, and not very many people. Campus has a lot of different food options from delicious $1 pieces of toast at Hazel's, to Taco Time for a quick Mexican snack, or Asian, Italian, American, or even one of the several cafes located on campus.
What to do for fun Logan seems boring and lacking in the activity area, but really, there are lots of things to do.
1. Clean the sink at Angie's... Classic Logan for sure
2. Explore Main Street, there is always something new to find
3. $3 theater! They always have at least one good movie
4. Try a new restaurant! My roommates and I tried so many different types of food... Thai, Indian, and even simple things like Sonic
5. Ride down Old Main Hill, no matter how you do it, it's always fun. You can go skiing, sledding, slip and sliding... The options are really endless
6. Stay home and watch a movie!
7. Stay home and do a craft, play a game, meet your neighbors!
8. Do something on campus, there's always something going on
9. Football games, basketball games, and hockey games are to die for!
10. Roller blading, bowling, country swing dancing all at the Fun Park!
11. Bon Fire
12. Cliff jumping
13. Star observatory on campus
14. Play hide-and-seek in the giant library
15. Take pictures on the statues
There are so many things to do! I could go on forever, there was never a dull moment this year!Bang for the buck Utah State is a bit pricey, especially if you don't have scholarships. You do get your bang for your buck with the student fees though; the transportation on campus is such a lifesaver! I fell in love with the Aggie Shuttle, especially on snowy days. The gym and library were also great parts of the students fees because they have such wide varieties.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus True Aggie is the prime tradition; you have to kiss someone who is a true aggie on the A at midnight on a full moon in order to become a true aggie. On homecoming night and A night, any two people can kiss and become true aggies together.
Great for these types of students Utah State is great for all types of students because there is a very strong LDS influence, so there is a huge institute program, but people of different faiths are also able to have a lot of fun. USU is just a great place for people who like to have fun.
Clubs and Activities There are countless clubs for people to join, really, any interest can be satisfied and there are always people who are interested in the same things as you. USU is great with activities; if there wasn't something I found to do on my own, there was always something on campus from concerts, dances, dinner events, movie nights, star observatories, or True Aggie, there were always plenty of options.
Greek Life I didn't participate in Greek life, but it played a big role on campus. I liked how they were very service oriented. They lived up to their party potential, but most of them were alcohol free. It played a big enough role where people knew they existed, but they also remained at a point where people that weren't interested could avoid them.
Campus Safety I always felt very safe on campus, but never over protected. The campus is well lit, there are usually police nearby, and there are police call boxes in case of emergencies. I liked how small the campus was, so it seemed like someone was always there if I needed them, but could also get away if I needed some alone time.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences Utah State I an open door for opportunities for those who want to succeed. It may be cold during the winter but the community, campus and over all college experience their will change you mind. I would only expect the the utmost superior education so long as the effort is as equal as the faculty and staff.
Tips for prospective students Tour, tour, tour, if you have college's you like tour them, if you have colleges you don't really care for, well tour those ones as well. I thought I would be attending UNLV in Las Vegas. Before I knew it I fell in love with USU in Logan. So my advice is to tour a college not just once but at least twice and with different people around, also tour colleges that may not appeal to you because who knows... I sure didn't and I'm glad to say I love where I'm going.
Academic Rigor From presidents to principals, billionaires to school board members, governors to teachers, everybody seems to be either promising rigor,
demanding rigor, or deploring the lack of rigor in schools. I believe USU to have the faculty that has the ability to accomplish impeccable things, now this is were it gets hard, the teachers are allowing the knowledge to spread it is up to you to want to absorb that wealth of knowledge.Dorm Life I have not lived on campus but I do know this 81% of the student live on campus. This makes for a campus with a family of student. There is never a boring moment.
Food and Dining The food and dining I do know a little more about I really like the set up they have, and appreciate the array of food to eat, trust me you'll you won't get bored of this food.
What to do for fun If you love the out-doors then you'll love it here. Within 30 minutes from campus you can experience all of the above a spa resort, a canyon to hike in during the summer or to snow board or ski in, along with a lake to enjoy.
Bang for the buck In campus tuition is a huge bang for the buck, sorry to say out of state is pricey but where isn't it. You can always find financial aid if you need it.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus On campus there is a Huge grass field that is called the quad. Well before there is a home game the student body will do an over night camp out. In front of the quad the is the old main which house's the dean and the student body president, there is a tradition to become a true Aggie (which is the schools mascot) you would have to take up a girl to the bell tower of old main at night on a full moon and kiss her.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences One of the most surprising and notable traits about this university is how kind everyone is; it's very easy to receive smiles and find friendship here.
The atmosphere is very laid-back and friendly; one can almost forget what pressure or stress feel like.
One of the most defining traits of this campus is the wacky weather, which has been summed up into If you don't like the weather, just wait five minutes.Tips for prospective students Honestly, the biggest thing any student needs to worry about here is facing the weather. Come prepared for freezing temperatures!
Academic Rigor Classes here can be difficult, but they don't come across this way due to the sheer friendliness and slow-pace of USU's atmosphere. Few students seem to be truly stressed out.
Dorm Life Students rarely complain about the dorms. There's generally a really safe and friendly atmosphere in the dorms, and if you get close to the students in your area it can create a sense of family.
Food and Dining Unfortunately, like many schools, the food isn't to die for. Taste is generally average, and the variety leaves much to be desired within a couple months.
What to do for fun USU is definitely the place for adventurous and/or outdoors-y people. Hiking and skiing in particular seem popular.
Great for these types of students Students who enjoy an easy-going pace or atmosphere, love snow, love athletics, love mountains, or just want as friendly a place as possible.
Campus Safety USU is possibly the safest campus ever, located in the safest town ever. At the very least, it certainly feels that way.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences Utah State is a very good school with large school opportunities but a small school community feeling. Academic Rigor If you want to skate by and not learn anything in college, you can. But if you want to succeed in life, USU will get you there. It will challenge you and make you a better qualified individual.
Dorm Life Dorm life is really fun. Some of the places are a bit of a dive but it's more about the experiences, the safety, and the people you meet rather than the five star hotel feel.

What to do for fun There is so much to do. Dances, basketball games, fires up the canyon, jumping in first dam, true Aggie night, skiing, sledding down old main, raquetball, ping pong, billiards, swimming,

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus True Aggie Night, you kiss on a statue called the A right on campus at midnight on the full moon. It's always a big crowd and a blast. Dirty 30's- 30 minute flash dance parties.
Great for these types of students Students who want to succeed as well as have fun but not party hard all college long.
Clubs and Activities There's something for everyone.

Tips for prospective students Be prepared for the weather, it's very random.
Dorm Life When I came to Utah State as a freshman, I was nervous but now the girls I met, two of them are my best friends and having neighbors is really great. Being so close to campus really helps if you need to go to the library or just being late to class.
What to do for fun USU offers such a huge variety in clubs and activities, it's really hard not to get into it. A favorite event of mine is Humans vs. Zombies, really is entertaining to watch around campus.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences Utah State has a beautiful campus, the teachers are usually willing to help you, and they understand that you are an incoming freshman and may need some help. Logan is easy to navigate and the people are friendly they also have free bus systems that make life easy if you don't have a car. The only downside is that the town is not very big and so there aren't very many things going on in town, but the University tries to make up for that.

Academic Rigor My rating is only that high because I am a music student and thus usually only take music classes and those are very difficult.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences Utah State is an absolute blast! I love the happy and friendly atmosphere that is on campus! It is easy to meet people and get involved with many of the activities that the school offers its students.
Tips for prospective students Meet with your counselor, they are so helpful and really do want to see you succeed and graduate with the degree that you want. Every semester I go in, and they help me plan for my future semesters to make sure that I am taking the right classes and in the best order for me to succeed.
Academic Rigor It has been a lot more challenging that I expected, but in most of my classes there is an SI (Supplemental Instruction) leader that holds study sessions a couple times a week and it really helps to go because the SI teacher goes over what we have learned in class, and it is in smaller groups which makes it easier to learn.
Dorm Life The dorm that I lived was so much fun! I had such great roommates and neighbors. My Resident Assistant was always helping out all of the freshmen getting around campus and learning the best ways to do things, and definitely helped in getting more involved and excited about the school events.
Food and Dining My favorite place to eat is the Quadside Cafe, which is located in the library. And it is awesome to be able to go to the library between classes and grad a snack or some lunch so quick, and it is delicious food.
What to do for fun There is so much to do in Logan. When it is warm outside it is great to go rock climbing or mountain biking and there is a place on campus to rent climbing gear, and a FREE bike rental place that is so awesome! In the winter Beaver mountain is so close for skiers and snowboarders. Locally there is a pizza place which has kareoke nights, an indoor park with disco skating, and bowling and certain nights of the week they have really great deals to get in super cheap!
Bang for the buck For me it was kinda expensive because I am out of state, but I think it was definitely worth it! It is easy to earn instate residency for the upcoming years.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus A fun tradition is becoming a True Aggie. And you do this on the night of a full moon by kissing someone while standing on top of the A in the middle of the quad on the campus. It is a way fun night, and tons of people go out to become True Aggies on the night of full moon.
Another fun tradition is The Howl. A way fun Halloween party hosted by Utah State. There is fun dancing and they bring in a well known band and everyone dresses up, it is a way fun time.Great for these types of students Great for smart, fun, outgoing people who are looking to have a great time at college while getting a great education and learning tons even beyond the books.
Clubs and Activities There are so many clubs and service organizations that are so great and so much fun to get involved in! A lot of the clubs and service organizations are really involved with events in the community and it is so fun to support the community and also have the community be very supportive of the school. Becoming involved in these things are such a great way to meet friends and make connections with professors and other great people.
Greek Life I don't know a ton about the Greek life, but those who I know that are involved do enjoy it quite a bit. I know that Frat houses put on fun parties pretty often and they do a really good job of making it appealing to everyone.
Campus Safety I have ALWAYS felt so safe being on campus. Even when coming out of the library while late at night. Everyone on campus is very friendly and considerate of others. To help secure the feeling of safety at every lamp post on campus there is an emergency button that if you don't feel safe you can push it and the campus police will come immediately and help you out, or just walk you to class if you are feeling nervous at all. The campus is very safe and friendly though, i have never had the need to use the emergency button, but it so nice knowing that it is there for if I ever do need it.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences utah state university has a fun atmosphere, caring organization and an array of students determined to get the education they deserve. being in the state of utah, its predominantly a school with a lot of members of the church of ladder-day saints. however, the international program is outstanding and aids usu to stay diverse.
Tips for prospective students if you are looking to go to utah state university, take a tour or visit the website. the university is filled with organizations, clubs and colleges that adhere to everyone. also, if you are an outdoor lover, you would absolutely enjoy logan, utah. at least for half the year, it gets pretty cold here so be sure to save up and buy the largest winter coat you can find.
Academic Rigor i would say utah state university is as easy as you make it out to be. classes can be extremely difficult, however i have found that if you enjoy the class you're enrolled in, and it is one of the more difficult classes you've taken, you can still pass with flying colors thanks to the professor. i can honestly say that i've had more professors in college that have changed the way i look at things and think than ever before. the professors are there to help you, and they honestly don't like to see students fail. all teachers have office hours specifically for their students, in which anyone can go speak to them for help or just questions on grades received.
Dorm Life i lived in the on-campus housing for my first two years of college. i definitely enjoyed how close i was to campus and all the people who lived in my dorm. i lived in an all-girl dormitory and met girls i will be friends with for a long time, even after college. the staff and other residents really encourage you to get involved with school activities, attend school-related parties and even answer questions on math homework. i would encourage first year students to live on campus in order to gain the great experiences that i had.
Food and Dining to be absolutely honest, i really struggled with my meal plan when i live on campus. it was hard to eat when you were in a cafeteria setting. since i haven't lived on campus for almost a full year now, i can't say whether or not the on-campus food and dining cafeterias have gotten any better, but i can say that the cafe's on campus are great. the quad side cafe is attached to the library and is probably where i spend most of my time studying, hanging out with friends or enjoying a cup of coffee. their food is great and is worth the money you spend on it.
What to do for fun logan is a college town, so there are a lot of fun things to do that apply to college students. there is always something to do on campus, literally at any time of day and any day of the week. usu always has excellent guest speakers who come and talk for free and the university always hosts great parties for holidays. usu is a beautiful town and has many outdoor recreational activities that residents take advantage of. if you are a student you get a discount on ski or snowboard rentals for the beaver ski resort just 30 minutes away. there are also a lot of indoor recreational activities, such as rock haus which is an indoor climbing center. i've spent most of my time there meeting people and gaining upper body strength!
Bang for the buck utah state university has beautiful buildings and old main is a great sight to look at from the quad. usu has so much history and keeps that alive. however, i am a girl who is catholic, an only child, and comes from a single parent family. so i am probably considered the minority. most of the students who go to usu are members of the lds church. if you are coming from out of state, do a little research on the religion just to get a basic understanding of the culture you will be entering. just remember though, if you are any religion, any ethnicity or any form of a person you will be accepted and treated fairly at usu.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus we celebrate something called true aggie night. we have a giant a on campus made of concrete, and every homecoming you can become a true aggie by standing atop the a and kissing another aggie. this can only be done for the first time on homecoming night. however, if you are already a true aggie, and the love of your life isn't... you can make them a true aggie on the night of a full moon. the university gives out small calendars that you can stick to your fridge to remind you of when a true aggie night comes around. just this year utah state made it into the record books with the longest kissing chain. i'm not sure if that is something to necessarily be proud of, but it put logan, utah on the map!
Great for these types of students usu is great if you are a member of the lds church, if you are interested in business or marketing the huntsman school of business is the place for you, if you are interested in music, art or theatre the caine college of the arts is a wonderful start.
Campus Safety usu provides all kinds of ways to make the students feel safe. logan has a very low crime rate already, and the campus police make it even lower. usu police will escort you home if you feel there uncomfortable walking at a late hour, there are on-campus services such as sexual assault and anti-violence information, saavi, provides support of those who have been raped or just have questions about sexual assault.

Academic Rigor the academics offered at utah state are very structured and useful. the instructors have worked in the field and so they have real world knowledge to share with us students. i feel that i am gaining useful knowledge that will help me to succeed as a speech pathologist when i am done.
Dorm Life i have never lived in a dorm, therefore have nothing to share in this category.
Food and Dining i am taking online courses so i do not live near the university, but i am familiar with the area and know that the city of logan offers many different opportunities for good food. there is a variety of establishments from fast food to formal dinning offered in a large variety of domestic and international cuisine.
What to do for fun i am not attending classes on location so again, i am unfamiliar with the recreational activities per say. however, i do know they are not far from bear lake which is a popular and beautiful recreational lake, that is great for a day or weekend of fun in the sun on the beach.
Bang for the buck utah state offers a great opportunity for online learning in the communicative disorders degree. the tuition is very reasonable for the education that is being offered.

Academic Rigor as a first year student i found i was able to handle the work load as long as i stayed on top of things and was realistic with my time.
Dorm Life i do not personally live in the dorms, but all of my friends do and so i spend a lot of time there. there activities put together for students living in the dorms, they have lounges with different entertainment features. it is also just nice being close to people and right in the middle of things. there is always someone around you can talk to.
Food and Dining the food is delicious, it really is, but i only give it two stars because as good as it is it can get old because the options are the same everyday.
What to do for fun if you like the outdoors cache valley is awesome. there is a beautiful canyon where you can go on hikes, rock climb, bear lake is not too far, and in the winter beaver mountain is close by for all the skiers and snowboarders. there is also the typical going out to eat, movies, and bowling :)

Tips for prospective students make sure you get a contract for housing early whether you're on campus or off. also, register for classes as soon as possible. it's also good to walk around campus at least a couple times before classes start so you know where different buildings are.
Academic Rigor some of the classes are hard, but they really prepare you for future classes you will take. the programs really prepare students for careers in their respective areas. the outlines for the programs are really helpful as well.
Dorm Life the dorms are great! the on-campus housing allows you to meet a lot of other students and it makes going to class really convenient. the dorms enforce quiet hours as well, so you don't have to worry about noisy neighbors late at night.
Food and Dining the on-campus dining can be expensive, but it's about the same at every university. the food is really good, though. there are a lot of great restaurants around campus, and many of them give you a pretty good bang for your buck.
What to do for fun logan has something for everyone! the canyons provide a great place for camping, rock climbing, hiking, caving, and other outdoor activities. skiing and snowboarding are fairly close, and the vast number of clubs provide students with a wide array of other activities, like swing dancing.

Academic Rigor utah state has a lot of great programs. their education program is one of the best in the country and is known for being rigours. all programs here expect the most of thier students and achieve great things.
Dorm Life residence life here is amazing. joing area government is a great idea! the resident assistants are well trained and they make life in the dorms really easy and fun. all the residence staff is dedicated to helping the students whole well being not just academics or providing them with a bed.
Food and Dining utah state has many great dining areas. they are not only clean but the provide a variety of options. they even listened to students input and have vegan and vegetarian options all over campus.
What to do for fun there is always something fun to do in logan. campus has amazing cultural events and socials every weekend. there are also many fun places off campus that are nearby
Bang for the buck utah state tutition not only covers the great academics they have here but also the caring and interactive staff and professors and one on one tutoring offices open every weekday.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus the aggie a is a small statue of just that, the letter a. it sits just outside the quad and has an unusual tradition. each full moon or on designated nights if you kiss someone ontop of this a you become a true aggie

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences utah state is an incredible school with tons of student involvement opportunities, excellent professors and programs, and really nice students. it's really easy to find a balance between school and fun here because the classes are all fascinating and there are a lot of fun things to do on and around campus when you need a break from studying.
Tips for prospective students i recommend living on campus your first year. this may not seem ideal to some people, but it's actually the best option. i chose to live on campus my freshman year, and it was one of the best decisions i've made! you meet a ton of people, only have to walk a few minutes to get to any of your classes (so it's not a problem if you wake up right before class starts), and there are always people and fliers updating you about what's happening on campus. living on campus is a great idea.
Academic Rigor i'm a mechanical engineering major, so my classes are very rigorous. however, all of my classes really interesting so studying is a simple task. i always feel challenged and i know i'm learning new things, but i never feel overwhelmed. i think this is really important for a college, and usu does a great job with finding that balance.
Dorm Life dorm life at utah state is a blast. all of the on campus dorms are really nice, and most of them are really close to campus so it only takes a few minutes to walk to your farthest class. there are also lots of fun programs that the students in the dorms get to participate in, and each floor is assigned a resident assistant who helps with the stress of college life and also any roommate issues that may arise. i've had a blast living in the dorms. it's a constant social atmosphere, but it's also easy to break away to sleep or study when you need to.
Food and Dining usu has a few on campus dining options, but i've only been to two of them: the junction and the marketplace. the marketplace is everyone's favorite because the food tastes great and there's a little bit of everything: fast food, asian, pasta, pizza, aggie ice cream and other desserts, fruit and vegetables, and all sorts of other options. the marketplace is a favorite for on-campus diners. however, i'm not going to lie, i refused to eat at the junction (nicknamed the junk) for my first semester because i thought it was just gross cafeteria food. i've been proved wrong recently, though, and i actually enjoy eating there. aside from campus, we have a mcdonalds, wendy's, burger king, cafe rio, noodles & co., and all sorts of other chain restaurants. we also have a great diner called angie's which has amazing food and a fun ice cream challenge called cleaning the sink.
What to do for fun there is so much to do for fun, no matter what you're into! the school has clubs for everything, and if they don't have one for what you're interested in then you can start it yourself. there are epic dance parties that people from all over utah come to, and the halloween dance, the howl, is attended by people from tons of different places in the country. there's also poetry and a beverage, true aggie nights, video game nights, basketball games with one of the rowdiest crowds in the nation, and all sorts of other things on campus. not too far from campus there is also hiking, sledding, skiing, snowboarding, camping, off-roading, movies, and tons of other fun activities.
Bang for the buck utah state is a highly accredited institution with amazingly low tuition and student fees. most usu students graduate with hardly any debt because of the low cost and countless scholarship opportunities.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus true aggie nights; they're probably the most well known tradition and utah state. the way it works is you have to kiss someone on the a at midnight when there's a full moon, during a-week, or during homecoming week. it's a big party and tons of people go every time.
Great for these types of students honestly, everyone fits in great at usu! i have friends from a lot of different backgrounds, and all of them love how safe, friendly, and social the campus is. some people like to stand out so they won't admit that they fit in here, but the truth is that it's a great school for anyone and everyone because of all the different educational programs, parties, and involvement opportunities.
Clubs and Activities there are a ton of ways to get involved on campus! you can join a club, start a club, help in the service center, run for student government, go to sporting events, attend traditions nights, and a countless number of other activities.
Greek Life i'm personally not a greek, but i have friends who are greeks who love it here. a few of the fraternities also throw some really great parties.
Campus Safety usu is one of the safest campuses in the country. there's very little theft or other crime that occurs. the students tend to be honest and respectful of one another's space and property. there has never been a time i have felt unsafe in logan. even though it's safe, you should still take precautions, like locking your car and not walking around alone in the middle of the night, but it really is a great place where bad things rarely happen.

Tips for prospective students there are many ways to get involved and ample opportunities to find your knack. explore!!!!
Academic Rigor if you do not put in the work you will not pass most courses. the i-clicker response system actively engages students and allows instructors to get an immediate response to how effectively they are teaching the information.
Dorm Life the dorms are very nice and all have activities to draw people out and meet others.
Food and Dining there are two dining facilities that offer 3 different courses for dinner. there are 3 different courses offered for lunch as well and for breakfast you can personalize your own omelet .
What to do for fun bowling, country swing dancing, snowboarding/skiing, movies, and a variety of campus sponsored activities.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences usu is the safest (or one of) the safest college campuses in the united states. people in logan are relatively friendly. classes are well-taught but can be extremely large.
Tips for prospective students when selecting classes, use ratemyprofessor.com - the site does a good job of giving a general idea of what the class will be like so students can choose accordingly with what they are hoping for.
Academic Rigor academic rigor is also different in accordance with the courses taken. general education classes are fairly easy and, as one would expect, higher level classes are more difficult.
Dorm Life quality of dorm life is excellent. there are dorms for all sorts with options such as private housing and apartment-style dorms. usu is a dry campus so drinking and drug use is monitored when living on-campus.
Food and Dining meal plans are relatively expensive but there are several different dining spots on campus for variety.
What to do for fun the university has a lot of free events on occasion and it's a really easy place to meet people. there is always something going on. usu is in the mountains so activities can range from canoing to hiking in the warmer months and skiing and sledding in winter.
Great for these types of students students who want to be able to have fun while learning.
Clubs and Activities loads of clubs, something for everyone.

Dorm Life some dorms are new, some are old, but all are really nice and comfortable. many options available.
Food and Dining the food at the junction cafe is amazing. it's part of the meal plan and i've got unlimited meals! i've been eating four full meals every day, and they're open for late night snacks too! there are other dining options as well, but this cafe is right outside my dorm!
What to do for fun sporting events are epic here! our football team (div.1) did pretty well (made it to a bowl game) and our basketball team is awesome too.
there is a recreational lake about five miles away where you can go boating, skiing, or hiking, and in the winter the ski resort is only ten minutes away!Bang for the buck i feel like i'm getting a lot for my parents buck. i plan to become a utah resident and my tuition will be even less next year.

Great for these types of students all types will get along here just great. it's not a huge campus and the town is very old, revolving around the college.

Bang for the buck Yes, this is a cheaper school than most schools in the area. My room mate was from CA, and she said hte out of state tuition at USU was cheaper than most instate tuition for CA!
Tips for prospective students There isn't much to do on campus, not many parties at all. The weather gets really cold! But everyone here is very nice and the sports are exciting.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot One of the things I find impressive is the teachers and their enthusiasm for teaching. They are concerned that you are learning in class, and that you get the grade you deserve.
Am enjoying being here I like just about everything about here except for the cold, and even that is bearable. The community is friendly, and there are quite a few exchange students with our sister school in China. The bus system is free, making transportation throughout the city plausible for those without vehicles.
Bang for the buck I would recommend this school for Utah residents in respect towards tuition. Instate students pay a lot less than out of state students.
Great for these types of students USU has a great engineering program, and support system for them. Our Opera program is also well established.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot Other than one class thus far, I have learned a significant amount and am enjoying the college life. The teachers give you as much opportunity as possible to ask questions after class and are always willing to try and work with you.
Am enjoying being here Everyone is friendly and wants to help give you the best college life and experience as possible. I feel I have more options now than I did in High School.
Bang for the buck Tuition overall is great. You don't have to pay to get into any of the school supported teams. They also include some minor medical care at the school clinic in the tuition costs, along with lower prescription costs as well. The only downside is food and school supplies on campus are higher than the average student could afford to buy everyday.
Tips for prospective students Always talk to your prof. if you need anything, whether it be help, rescheduling things, or just have questions about the course in general. It is totally worth it.
Great for these types of students If you love the outdoors, this is a great place for you. With a beautiful canyon just two minutes away from campus with great hikes, cheap outdoor gear to rent, and gorgeous scenery its a great chance to see the sites. Although it is a predominantly Mormon town, about half the students aren't LDS, so if you are you'll fit right in, if you aren't, no worries. They won't judge you.

Am enjoying being here Logan is an amazing place to be! There is so much to do, especially if you love being outdoors. There is a canyon just up the road from campus with hiking, biking, skiing, swimming, etc.
Bang for the buck Utah State is a bit on the pricy side, but the quality of education is so worth it. On-campus housing is really cheap and an awesome thing to check into, especially if you are coming up for your first year.
Tips for prospective students Take advantage of the Library. It is a quiet place to sit and get some studying done. Go to as many games as possible. They are free for students and a super fun idea for a date or something.
Great for these types of students Anyone who wants to have fun while getting a college education. It also helps if you don't mind the snow :)

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot The professors are incredible! They honestly care about your development and make it as easy as possible to learn. There are also many programs provided to help those students who are having trouble. Your success is a high priority for everyone here if you are willing to work hard.
Am enjoying being here Not only are the classes interesting and fun and the professors awesome, but the environment is incredible. There are always activities going on that include all of the student body. There are over 200 different clubs for students to get involved in. Also, the athletics here are intense, especially the Aggie football and basketball games! Plus we have some of the biggest parties in the state like the Howl, which is one of the biggest Halloween parties in the western United States. There is always something fun to do here. Also, Logan is a total college town, so the entire community is involved with the school! Provides a sense of unity you can't find many other places.
Bang for the buck For how incredible this college is, the tuition is quite low.
Tips for prospective students Get involved! That is the best way to make sure that your college experience is unrivaled. College can easily be one of the best times of your life, but you have to be willing to open up and try new things. Plus, it is a huge resume builder if you join clubs and participate in activities provided by the college.
Great for these types of students Those who want a good balance of social as well as educational aspects. Also, the USU Aerospace Engineering and Education departments are some of the best in the US.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot Utah State is an awesome environment to learn in. Class sizes vary, and there are opportunities to learn just about anything. Some of my favorite classes have been outside my major.
Am enjoying being here Although I am a born and bred city boy, Logan is a great town to live in. The community is small but has plenty of amenities to keep you happy. Late nights at Village Inn, taking a drive up Logan Canyon, or playing ultimate frisbee on the quad are just a few options
Bang for the buck The cost of tuition is reasonable. The University is constantly trying to update the campus and provide a great learning environment for the students. There are also TONS of opportunities to go to plays, concerts, movie nights, and dances which are all free for students!
Tips for prospective students College can either be a great or miserable experience depending on your frame of mind. Make sure you pick a school that you fall in love with, not just a school that accepts you. If you love your school, it makes it so much easier to get up and go to class every day. I will never regret becoming an AGGIE!

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot I absolutely love the college experience. It's not like high school where you go to class and have the possibility of learning nothing. Each class is jam-packed with information that enhances the learning experience exponentially.
Am enjoying being here Utah State is beyond enjoyable. There's always something going on, whether a basketball game, a debate, or a party in on-campus housing. It's almost impossible not to have something to do or somewhere to be. It's so easy to be involved in the university.
Bang for the buck Tuition costs are super low here at Utah State and their scholarship funding is above and beyond other schools. Majority of people have some sort of funding, or like me, extra funding. They want you to have the easiest time possible being an Aggie, which includes low Fees and Tuition with a plethora of benefits from your fees and tuition.
Tips for prospective students Don't be afraid to get involved. Do majority of your studying all on campus. Talk to professors, peers, and advisors. They really do want to help.
Great for these types of students Outgoing and fun. There's so much to do here and it's perfect for those who want to stay busy academically and socially.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot The teachers at Utah State are truly concerned about providing a high quality education to their students. They are also incredibly knowledgeable about their field of work and most that I have come in contact have Doctorate degrees. I have only attended the school for a short while, but I have been incredibly impressed with every teacher that I have had, and can honestly say that I think I've learned more in my few months here than I did in much of high school.
Am enjoying being here Logan is absolutely beautiful. Utah State is settled at the base of Logan Canyon, and is surrounded by gorgeous Utah mountains. Campus is small and easy to navigate, as well as attractive, which I love because I enjoy taking pictures. It's also very easy to get involved here - Student government, arts, volunteer and service work, sports; you name it, it's here. Most things are incredibly easy to get into if you're looking to. I don't leave campus very often, because I don't feel the need to. There are plenty of places to hang out with friends, do homework, and whatever else you might want to do. However, if you do want to leave campus, Logan has great hiking, restaurants, shopping, and fun places to visit like Main Street (it's really historic and really cute!), the Willow Park Zoo, and, seasonally, corn mazes and haunted houses.
Bang for the buck Utah State gives some great academic scholarships that significantly lower tuition that is already a great, low price for a fantastic education. The money is worth it. In fact, sometimes I feel like I'm cheating the school because I'm paying so little and getting so much!
Tips for prospective students Apply now! If you apply before the December 1st deadline, you automatically receive academic scholarships if you're eligible. I currently have half tuition because I applied early. Also, live on campus for at least your first year. There's a lot that you can get involved in with Housing and Residence Life, AND you're close to your classes. I could wake up five minutes before class any day of the week and still get to class on time - it's reassuring. Get involved and go to events, because they happen alllll the time and they're an absolute blast!
Also, pay attention when anybody or anything says the words free Aggie Ice Cream, because they are said often, and they are beautiful. Aggie Ice Cream is like food for your soul. 26 flavors of goodness.Great for these types of students Everyone. There really is something for everybody. There is such a wide variety of majors offered in both undergraduate and graduate studies, and there are so many extracurricular activities that I lost count before I started counting. There's a sense of belonging here that I don't think can be found many other places - you don't get lost in the masses.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot I love the classes here! The professors really know their subject. My favorite is the professors have a passion for what they are teaching, they are excited to teach which makes their class more interesting. If you don't understand the material, some classes have supplementary instruction where you can go to get extra help. Also all teachers have office hours, which is really helpful if you want a even more help.
Am enjoying being here I LOVE Utah State! The atmosphere here is just so friendly and welcoming. It is a fun college town in such a beautiful location. Logan has it all! You can go hiking, mountain biking, canoeing, cliff jumping, boating, sledding, and skiing. There is always something to do, whether it is going to dance parties, poetry and a beverage, country swing dancing, disco skate night, or intermural sport teams. My personal favorite is going to the school sport games. We have an awesome fan section and amazing cheers! Nothing is better than cheering in the Spectrum at a USU basketball game.
Bang for the buck Everything is reasonably priced. They also hand out a big coupon book that you can use throughout the year around town. You can find good deals on a meal, groceries, and entertainment.
Tips for prospective students What sold the school for me was visiting the campus. Come see if you even like it up here. Meet with a counselor to get your school life on track. This will make your life so much easier!
Great for these types of students Great for students who are motivated and love to have fun. Great for people who are active and adventurous!

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot Utah State is a wonderful school with a good faculty that is dedicated to helping you succeed and graduate. Of course the professors aren't perfect and some of them are better at teaching than others, but it is comforting to know that they are all normal people and most are very understanding. I haven't had a professor yet that hasn't been willing to help me understand course material if I was willing to talk to them outside of class in their office. Many intro level classes also have review sessions, recitation courses, and TA's that are in existence just for you as students to make sure you succeed. Granted a lot of how much you learn is based upon how much you are willing to try and how much effort you're willing to put into your education. Professors here won't force you to learn. If you don't want to learn than you don't have to, but you will be missing out on some incredible experiences if you do. Utah State is a research school and as such if you find degree that you find interesting and want to pursue, more than likely there is a professor that would be willing to give you hands on experience with research in said field.
Am enjoying being here Because of the size of the campus and the way the local student housing is set up, Utah State is a very social environment. There are so many clubs and organizations on campus that it's impossible not to find something that you're not interested in and can't get involved it. The intro classes on campus aren't always that much fun, since they're all generals, but once you get past those they tend to get much more involved with what you want to study and some people even find that they enjoy school. Crazy huh?
Bang for the buck In state tuition at Utah State is incredible! It's very low compared to most other schools in the nation and the opportunities that you have once you get here are well worth that which you pay. Even if you are from out of state the tuition is obviously higher, but it's still a great rate. Plus you can always stay in Logan over the summer and apply for in state tuition for the next school year.
Tips for prospective students Usually if you're thinking about going to college you're more than likely a senior in High School, so it would be pointless for me to tell you at this point to do your best in high school to get a good gpa or to get involved at your school. More than likely it's too late for that anyways. One thing that you do need to realize is that even though college is a very fun place to be, it's much different than high school. Professors here won't babysit you and make sure that you're getting the education that you need. They all have their own problems and lives to live too and could care less if you decide to try to learn something or not. My suggestion to you would be to learn to take responsibility of your life and get organized. Many professors will give you a schedule for the semester and won't tell you about upcoming assignments because they'll expect you to remember and to do it. That said, there are no late assignments accepted hardly ever. Of course if you can be sure to study hard for the ACT or respective SAT and get good grades in High School.
Great for these types of students Utah State is great for people who don't mind living in a suburban, small town, older town environment. However, there are still very modern and up to date places closer to campus. Most of the activities that you can do around Logan and Utah State involve doing something outside. The mountains are right behind the campus. If you like doing things outside you'll really enjoy Utah State. Logan can get quite cold during the winter time so make sure that you bundle up.

Categories Rating Comments Will learn a lot I'm doing this review while I still remember what it is like to learn about USU. I went up to campus about four times to learn about it, and every time the students and faculty were very helpful. Every one of my questions got answered and every student I talked to was ready to help.
Will enjoy being here There is a lot of focus on outdoor activities and sports, and both are not up my field. But for all the geeks and people who enjoy being inside a lot, they have just about every kind of club and group you can imagine. Nobody is left out and everyone loves to help you participate. Walk around campus a bit and everyone is super friendly, which helped me get out of my shell.
Bang for the buck Scholarships here are amazing. The system is set so if you did well before, you instantly get some sweet money. The recruitment department is completely willing to work with you on deadlines and requirements. I can't wait to experience what the classes are like!
Tips for prospective students I could use some of these, but the one I can give is EAT SOME AGGIE ICE CREAM. It's really good.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot Utah State is a great school to learn at. All of the professors I have had so far have been great. USU has a great atmosphere in and out of the classroom. The student body is just under 16000 so the classes remain small, which allows the teacher to really get to know you.
Am enjoying being here Utah State has lots of great activities to attend. Football in the fall is a favorite along with basketball in the winter/spring. The basketball games are extremely fun to attend, the entire student body gets into them. Wild Bill is a favorite of all, he dresses up in different costumes each home game. Logan is located right next to the mountains which have some great hikes for you to do.
Bang for the buck Tuition is low at Utah State compared to other colleges. You get a great education for a low price. Logan is a relatively cheap place to live as well. Food and personal expenses aren't out of hand. I figure it costs me $4500 a semester to live here, that includes tuition and housing.
Tips for prospective students Call and talk with a recruiter today if your at all interested in attending Utah State University. They are extremely helpful and easy to work with. The recruiter that I talked to when I was in High School still remembers me to this day, by name.
Great for these types of students Utah State is a great school for anybody. You will love this school if you like the outdoors, as there is plenty to do in them. Agriculture, Environmental and Engineering majors will love this school as they have great programs for all of these majors.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot It's amazing the education I am getting here at USU, there are so many options and so many opportunities for hands on learning such as lab or field work.
Am enjoying being here I LOVE the campus. It is clean and well-kept, the people are friendly and welcoming, and there is a new friend to make in every class. Logan is a great place if you love nature- skiing, boating, hiking, climbing, etc.
Bang for the buck Are you kidding me?! USU is one of the least expensive schools in the nation for the quality of education you receive. Trust me, a quality education like this will be worth a lot more in the end! USU also offers scholarships for incoming freshman.
Tips for prospective students You won't go wrong with Utah State University. Be sure to attend: Aggie Men's Basketball games, hockey games, Day on the Quad, the HOWL, and True Aggie Night!! You won't be disappointed.
Great for these types of students Outdoorsy, business and engineering students especially (and all others), likes hands-on-learning, sports fanatics, etc.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot I have loved my learning experience at Utah State University. I wasn't sure on a major when I first arrived, so I had the great opportunity to take a wide variety of classes. The professors all genuinely care about you and are willing to take the time necessary to make sure you pass the class. I have finally decided on a history teaching major and I am SO excited, I have heard great things about both the secondary education program and the history program! I LOVE USU!
Am enjoying being here I love Logan! I hate traffic which is rarely a problem in Cache valley which is awesome! I also love the outdoors and Logan Canyon is only minutes away from campus! The campus itself is one of the prettiest campuses I have EVER seen! USU is a fun place with something for everyone! I truly have enjoyed it so far!
Bang for the buck I have found USU to be extremely cost effective. My education there truly has been a quality one-and I have only been taking generals so far! As well, they provide many opportunities to aid in the financial burden.
Tips for prospective students Don't study in your apartment, you will see an improvement in your grades when you find a quiet corner in the library and study!

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot At Utah State the teachers are very helpful. They take the time to make sure you understand whats happening in the class, even if it is a big class, I was never afraid to take to my professors.
Am enjoying being here Logan is a great city! It;s small, but fun! I have met a lot of awesome people and there are a lot of great clubs and activities on the campus.
Tips for prospective students Focus on your studies. That is what your here for. Have fun, but realize that in college the only way you'll do well is if you apply yourself. No one can force you to work hard.
Great for these types of students If you like a more student/teacher relationship. The councilors at the school work with you and help you through any questions you may have.

Categories Rating Comments Did learn a lot I learned so much from my professors. They truly care about us and they want us to succeed. They want us to learn and I have changed my major because of some great teachers.
Did enjoy being here My time spent here was exhausting but fulfilling at the same time. It was important to study and I met so many of my friends through my classes. This is an all around friendly school. And the Teacher Aides really help out when I needed it. The counselors really help when you are down. They all want you to succeed and have a good time.
Bang for the buck Prices are climbing and some of the classes that I wanted to take, I couldn't because I didn't have the money. And the broad casted classes were pricier than the face-to-face classes; it was bothersome.
Tips for prospective students Overall, this is a great school to attend. The professors are so nice, the atmosphere is relaxing, and you will learn so much. You just have to study hard and make friends will learning.
Great for these types of students Hard-dedicated people who want to push themselves.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot Learning comes naturally here at Utah State. Professors, Lab leaders, and other students all help eachother learn to the best of their abilities. Utah State truly pushes you to succeed.
Am enjoying being here I love the coolness of the mountain breeze, the warm sunshine, and the beautiful trees that are everywhere here in Logan, UT. I love the people around here. We are all aiming towards a common goal of education and feel united.
Bang for the buck Education here at Utah State of course comes with a price; however, that price is minimal compared to all the knowledge and skills I am learning.
Tips for prospective students Apply to Utah State now!!

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot Utah State is an excellent school for those wanting a good, well rounded education. I have found that the instructors not only care about and want their students to succeed, but also want to be sure that all students are getting the most out of their education. Real life examples, stories, and current events are vitally important to learning at Utah State.
Am enjoying being here I have found at Utah State that students, faculty, and staff are all very friendly. I am constantly meeting new people and having wonderful learning experiences. Utah State has many extracurriculars and activities constantly. There is something for anyone who is interested in being involved. Utah State is nestled in a beautiful small valley, with excellent opportunities for outdoor activities within minutes from campus. The campus itself is beautiful inside and out. There is plenty of space for recreation and studying in our state of the art library, large quad recreation area, as well as many others. Utah State has great sports, including our nationally recognized Men's Basketball team. There is nothing like the Spectrum!
Bang for the buck Utah State is a great value for students. Tuition and fees are relatively low, and are all inclusive. Students never have to pay for sporting events, campus activities, or to use campus technology. Many events put on by the fine arts department are also free to students. The only downside-many fees are accessed, and not all of them are directly useful to students.
Tips for prospective students Be sure to get involved! Utah State has some great opportunities. Live near campus-at least for the first couple years! Student housing is very social and you will have many more opportunities if you live nearby.
Register for classes as soon as you can! Classes fill up fast and waiting-lists are difficult.Great for these types of students Utah State is a great school for the social butterfly in all of us! There truly is a little something for everyone! Utah State is also great for the outdoors man. Cache Valley is home to great skiing, hiking, camping, swimming, golf, as well as many parks and athletic facilities.
Utah State is definitely worth every last bit you put into the school.Login to rate or flag the reviews

Am enjoying being here I love being at this school. I love the students, professors, and the school atmosphere whether it be at basketball games or in the student center.
Bang for the buck Yes, I do a good education and the cost is well worth it!
Tips for prospective students If you can take any college courses with your high school, I recommend doing so because when you do arrive at Utah State you will be so close to getting your associates.
