The classes are a constant challenge. Everyday is a day full of knowledge.

    Am enjoying being here

The campus is a friendly, smaller campus located in a big city full of college students. The classes are fairly small so you get the help you need, but socially you are surrounded by 7-9 other colleges in the area that you can easily go to and have fun.

    Bang for the buck

Wentworth has the laptop program which is a huge upside. The cost is built into the tuition and the laptop is fully loaded with the programs you will need throughout your studies. After 2 years you get an upgraded laptop, so your up-to-date with all your software. The Professors and staff on campus are friendly and very understanding.

    Tips for prospective students

I like to think of Wentworth as a school that gives almost everyone a chance. Although they do give everyone a chance, you need to want it and show it to stay there. Its easy to get in, hard to stay at. Wentworth is a faster paced, career-oriented school. It has awesome programs. The staff is outstanding. Being a transfer student, I was nervous trying a new school after hating my first semester. The admissions staff is great. They really work with you on a personal level to help you with your problems. Wentworth also has the laptop program, which is really helpful. All the programs needed are on the laptop. I wouldn't go anywhere else. Wentworth is truly an amazing school.

Great for these types of students

Wentworth is a great school for students who know they want to major in a Design program or Engineering program. If your a student who knows what you want to do with the rest of your life, Wentworth is the school for you. Wentworth has a number of accredited programs, and some of the best hands on design and engineering programs in the northeast.

Every day that I am at Wentworth I learn something new. Wentworth not only teaches you the basics of your declared major, but also applies it to real world situations in a hands on way so that you apply the principles that you are learning in the classroom.

    Am enjoying being here

The campus is great. There are so many activities on campus alone to participate in never-mind the fact that the school is located in the heart of Boston. The professors and faculty are always helpful and nice. I've made friends in my first semester that I know will be friends for the rest of my life.

    Bang for the buck

At Wentworth, students get the full experience. You get all of the basic knowledge for your major along with hands on experience. Once a student is farther into their studies, Wentworth has a phenomenal co-op program that builds your resume and experience as well.

    Tips for prospective students

Wentworth is a great school. However, I would only recommend attending if you are absolutely sure of which major you want to pursue.

Great for these types of students

Wentworth is great for all types of students, but especially for the hands on learner.

Good CO-OP program. Small school where you know everyone. Great location

    Tips for prospective students

Very hard to transfer credits in and out of Wentworth. Know what you want to do because you lose time if you switch majors. Small class sizes and professors always willing to help.

Classes are a real challenge and the professor really know what they are talking about. I like that most of the classes are really small. The proffesors really help you if you need help. I really like that you get right into you major.

    Am enjoying being here

I have meet many people and had made many friends. The school alwasy offfers great discounts on a lot of things. I love that is right in Boston. Also there is always some activity or something to do on the weekends at wentworth. I like that they alwasy come up wth these progams or activities.

    Bang for the buck

Tuition is so low compare to other schools. On top of that you get a laptop. The school is really trying to be on the forefront with technology by having laptop and haing professor use email and other tools. You also get the programs you need for your major for free though the schools datbase. What is the best in that Wentworth is part of the colleges of the fenway. this means if you want to take a class that is not offered at wentworth, you can take it at another school.

    Tips for prospective students

Make sure you try to stand out. I was waitlisted the first go around but I went and interviewed with my addmisions concelor and got it. Sometimes them knowing you personally and seeing you helps them know that you want to be there. It also doesnt hurt if you are female. The school is mostly male and they are trying to have more girls. Have great grades especially in the math and sciences and have a good amount of extra cirricualrs. They like people who are helping the community or at least doing something with thier time besides watching tv and going to school. Also get a really good score on the math SAT. They like my high math score.

Great for these types of students

Engineering or architects or interior architects. It mostly a contruction and technology school. I dont know how the computer classes are but aparently they good. Anyone who likes a small school and wants to be in a city would love this school.

Wentworth is a great school. Teachers are really helpful and take their time to go over homework. Sense class sizes are small, teachers get to know you better and help you out as an individual. As long as you try, their is no possible way you can fail.

    Am enjoying being here

One of the greatest things about attending Wentworth is that your in Boston and everything is in walking distance. There are plenty of after school activities which range from student government, sports, computer clubs, IEEE, activities club, pool room, and other fun activities. Also students at wentworth are really friendly. Everywhere you go their is something to do or someone their to help you out with school related activities.

    Bang for the buck

For the tuition price that wentworth makes people pay you cannot go wrong. As long as you try in school you will be able to get the degree and education that you desire.

    Tips for prospective students

If you like hands on work and don't mind small classes, Wentworth is the way to go. Also don't trow away old high school physics or math notes as they will come in handy. Study hard, show interest and put lots of effort into your work.

Great for these types of students

This school is great for students who want to become engineers and for hands on work.

I can't speak for the other classes, but Wentworth is an excellent school for Construction Management. Great teachers, great class schedules! I highly recommend Wentworth.

    Tips for prospective students

Apply early, no matter what school you're considering. It's tough when your friends are all hearing back from schools and you still haven't heard.

Wentworth Institute of Technology is the ideal school for a student that would describe him or herself as an independent, hands on learner. Located in the heart of Boston, this school utilizes it's prime location through an extensive co-op program in which the majority of students land paid job in the Boston area.

    Tips for prospective students

Don't expect an easy A, especially in the design (Architecture, Industrial, and Interior) majors. It helps to know a bit about what you want to study beforehand, as unlike other schools, changing majors even a semester in will set you back by a while.

    Academic Rigor

Classes are challenging, especially those that are centered around your major. At least half of your classes from day one will involve your major.

    Dorm Life

Freshman dorming is especially in need of an upgrade. Once past freshman year, there are plenty of options, from the brand-new 555 building to quaint and homey campus-sponsored apartments. Every weekend, Weekends@WIT has programming for students. Sometimes not the best, but it's a good place especially for freshmen to make friends.

    Food and Dining

Food and dining is Wentworth's achilles heal. Contracted out to a company called Chartwells, many students complain of limited hours, bad service, and overpriced food. I personally and inclined to agree. On weekends, the latest a student can eat on campus is 6:30. On weeknights it's 8 pm. Adjacent Northeastern University has late-night (up to 3am) dining options for its students.

    What to do for fun

If you've found yourself with no work to do, Huntington Avenue (the street the school is located on) is a great place to go for a walk. Within minutes you'll find yourself at the Christian Science Center's reflecting pool, and just a bit further you'll find the Prudential Center.

    Bang for the buck

My first year was a bit pricey, but I put in a lot of effort and was accepted into a Resident Assistant position. One of the benefits is 100% discount on room charges, which were the bulk of my loan debt. Because of that, I will be paying very little money to obtain a good education.

Wentworth is one of the most affordable private educations in the Boston area.

A rapidly expanding university. With small class sizes and professors who care about your growth. Located in one of the premiere cities to go to school in.

    Tips for prospective students

Be ready for a completely different experience then high school, and try to grow a relationship with your professsors

    Academic Rigor

Some classes can be tough, but if you do the work, get help when you need it, and talk to your professor's then there is no reason you shouldn't pass.

    Dorm Life

Choose Baker hall, it may have a little less privacy but you will meet so many more people and make allot more friends.

    Food and Dining

What do you want it's college food, not home cooking. That being said I never thought the food was that bad.

    What to do for fun

There are allot of clubs to join, there's also the Prudential and landmark center's. Besides that it's in Boston, you will never run out of things to do.

    Bang for the buck

I personally think it was great, I got a better deal here than at the UMass's.

    Greek Life

Nonexistent except for the honor fraternity but that's it.

    Campus Safety

The campus is safe and the dorm's always have desk guards after 8 O'clock

    Tips for prospective students

stay on top of your work and develop good time management skills. if you are having trouble with your classes take advantage of the services provided to you.

    Academic Rigor

classes are challenging and many include a lot of work especially in the design majors.

    Dorm Life

dorms are generally good size and in good condition. suite options are the most popular on campus.

    Food and Dining

food is fairly good with the selection provided by both wentworth and mass art. the c-store is on campus and very convenient late at night or on the weekends.

    What to do for fun

    Bang for the buck

for the money wentworth is a great place to get an education. the location is amazing and the curriculum is challenging and interactive. co-op opportunities are endless and allow for a foot into the field.

    Greek Life

    Am learning a lot

The classes are interesting and there is a reason for every class you have to take. The class sizes are small for the most part so you are not lost in the crowd and the professors get to know you over the course of the semester. The professors are approachable and can be contacted during their office hours or by email any time. They are very prompt about returning emails.

    Am enjoying being here

It is a small school with a tight community and it doesn't hurt that it is located in the city of Boston. Getting anywhere you need to go is easy because there are two T stops within two minutes of campus in either direction. Being surrounded by so many other colleges and being a part of the Colleges of the Fenway helps make a small school bigger.

    Bang for the buck

The laptop program prevents you from having to go out and add a new laptop to the expense of college. Students in Architecture and Interior Design majors get a MacBook Pro everyone else gets a PC. Junior year they replace the laptops with newer updated ones, and if you continue to grad school they replace it again (which i strongly recommend for architecture majors because if you continue here it is a one year masters program that would be two years anywhere else). These laptops come fully loaded with all of the programs you will need for class. There are also many activities to do around campus and plenty of free giveaways and raffles.

    Tips for prospective students

Make sure you really want to go into one of the technology majors. You can change majors within the school if you change your mind about which one you want but transferring schools can be a pain so if you have no idea what you want to do I would recommend a school with a larger variety of majors. What is great about this school is that it is part of the Colleges of the Fenway. If you cannot find an elective that you like at Wentworth but there is one at one of the other five
Fenway schools that fits the requirements, you can cross register.

Great for these types of students

This school is great for dedicated, hardworking students. The majors offered here are not easy and require a lot of time and effort but if it is what you want to do then the work is worth it and the classes are interesting and the professors will help you along the way.

The courses are interesting and can certainly be challenging. The professors are very knowledgeable in their subjects and certainly know how to convey this to the students.

    Am enjoying being here

Wentworth is in Boston. There are plenty of other colleges around as well as a lot to do. Boston is never a disappointing place to live.

    Bang for the buck

This college has a great reputation and it is certainly affordable as a private school. The co-op program is well respected and what the school is known for.

    Tips for prospective students

Stay on top of your classes and school work. It is important to stay on track with all your classes. Classes aren't always offered so failing a class can be a huge set back toward graduation. Some classes go faster than others but it is always important to attend class and know what's going on.

Great for these types of students

Students who enjoy math and science or someone interested in the engineering field.
