Ouachita Baptist University is a Christ-centered learning community. Embracing the liberal arts tradition, the university prepares individuals for ongoing intellectual and spiritual growth, lives of meaningful work, and reasoned engagement with the world.
John and Kathy Leber, together with friends, have established this scholarship in memory of their son Jonathan, who went to be with the Lord on April 26, 2005. Jon was a Biblical Studies major at Maranatha. He received his pilot’s license in 2004 and was affectionately known as “Ace” by family and close friends. Flying was a love of his life, and Jon was preparing to serve the Lord as a missionary pilot in the jungles of South America. This scholarship is awarded to a student who has a major or minor in Missions or Missions Aviation and has clearly stated his or her intention of serving God on the mission field.
