- The student(s) must be a full time undergraduate student as defined by the University. The student recipient( s) must be of high academic standing. The student(s) must demonstrate leadership and service to the University and/or community. The Samuel Miller Brownell Memorial Scholarship Fund was established in honor of Dr. Brownell who served as President of New Haven State Teachers College now Southern Connecticut State University from 1947 to 1953.
