National Merit, National Achievement, and National Hispanic Scholarship

Scholarship Description
Qualifications: NM Resident with a High School diploma and family income of $35,000 (AGI) per year (need based). Amount: Tuition and Fees and a $600 book stipend per year. Eligibility criteria: 25 ACT score or top 5% of graduating class. Renewal Criteria: Up to eight (8) semesters of full time undergraduate eligibility with 12 credit hours and a 3.0 GPA per semester. Deadlines & Application: March 1st Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and NMHU Scholarship Application; admission application by March 1st; complete FA file by April 15. Description: New Mexico Scholar Awards are provided to the university by the New Mexico Higher Education Department. They replace the tuition benefit of the NMHU Road to Success Scholarship, and add to that benefit, the cost of fees and an annual $600 book award. New Mexico Scholars are chosen from freshmen students who have ACT scores of 25 or above, have graduated in the top 5 percent of their high school class, and have financial need as established by the FAFSA form.
