Freshman Achievement Scholarship

Scholarship Description
The University of Kansas awards two types of Freshman Achievement Scholarship: non-renewable and renewable. The non-renewable Freshman Achievement Scholarship is awarded for the freshman year only, while the renewable Freshman Achievement Scholarship can be renewed for up to four years. Non-Renewable: Selection is based on GPA, strength of school curriculum, senior year schedule, ACT or SAT scores, involvement in co-curricular activities and community service. Award: $1000 to $3,000 (freshman year only) Renewable: Selection is based on GPA, strength of school curriculum, senior year schedule, ACT or SAT scores, involvement in co-curricular activities and community service. A portion of the renewable Freshman Honors Scholarships will include consideration of the applicant’s financial need. The results of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) will be used to verify the student’s financial need for the need-based awards. We strongly encourage you to submit a FAFSA as soon after January 1 as possible. Priority is given to those who file before March 1. The FAFSA is available from your high school counselor, or at www.fafsa.ed.gov. Award: $1000 to $3,000/year for four years.
