National Merit Scholarships

Scholarship Description
If you are named a National Merit finalist by the National Merit Corporation, you may be awarded one of three types of awards: a $2500 National Merit scholarship directly from the National Merit Corporation, a $2000 Bowdoin-sponsored National Merit scholarship, or a corporate-sponsored National Merit scholarship in varying amounts. Only the National Merit Scholarship Corporation may name finalists. Since Bowdoin receives official notification of named National Merit scholars after our award letters are mailed, a revised award letter incorporating the National Merit award is mailed to finalists in late April.
