Honors Scholar Program
- Scholarship Description
- An initial recipient must be a sophomore full-time student, majoring in a degree program in the Department of Mathematics, and agreeing to attend Eastern Illinois University during his/her junior year. The recipient must have an overall GPA of not less than 3.0 and not higher than 3.5 on a 4.0 point scale during the three semesters at Eastern Illinois University preceding their selection. The recipient must display a need for financial aid. Preference shall be given to students who are also majoring or minoring in Physics, then to students striving for a second degree program in Mathematics. In the event that a second or third award is to be presented a recipient shall be eligible for such award provided she/he continues to demonstrate financial need, and has maintained a cumulative GPA between 3.0 and 3.5 on a 4.0 scale since qualifying for the first award. The monetary part of the award shall be issued in the Fall Semester.
