The recipient must be a full-time student accepted to Eastern Illinois University and majoring in either individual and family development, nutrition and health, hospitality management, accounting, taxes or education. The recipient must be a high school graduate from either the Cowden, Salem, or Shelbyville, Illinois high schools (or successor school systems) enrolled as either an undergraduate or graduate candidate; or a faculty member employed by one of the three school systems and enrolled in a graduate program at Eastern Illinois University. Financial need is not a consideration. Award recipients shall have a minimum of 3.0 GPA. In the event of essentially equally qualified candidates, first preference would be to the candidate from the school system not having been awarded such scholarship for the longest period of time; second preference would be to the candidate studying to be a teacher.
