- Recipient(s): Varies Amount: Varies Class Standing: Open to all Founded in 1988 by the Trustees of the India Academic Organization to encourage a better appreciation of India's multi-foliate culture and thereby promote better understanding among peoples of the Union of India and the United States of America. The selection and criteria process will be as follows: A. Student must have completed 6 credits in a program of studies that includes Indian Humanities content. B. First preference will be given to a student who has demonstrated excellence in Indian Performing Arts and if no candidate is available preference can be given to a Music or Art student. C. Grade point average of 3.0 as evidenced by a most recent transcript. D. A brief essay stating the students goals and objectives in pursuing his or her studies. E. Evidence of service and contribution to the life of the College community in extracurricular activities. F. A letter of recommendation from at least one faculty member who can assess the student's work and potential for growth.
